On my last visit, I was staying at the hotel, so I didn't drive there, so I had to limit my purchases to be able to get them back to the hotel. I was hoping to go back on checkout day, but they had me exit the other way. Besides the 9000 ft gallery, there is a sculpture garden outside (those are for sale too). I love looking at the variety of art. Some pieces I really loved were more than I could afford but I can still appreciate them. Glass and metal are the art styles that appeal to me at the moment. The metal grabbed my attention here a few years ago as it was different, and reusing the metal while transforming it into something new. I still have my large metal frog. Now I have a lot of metal art. I will need to get some pictures of the latest pieces. I still wish I had gotten the giraffe, too, but transporting was going to be a problem. I did get a photo of it. So maybe it will be there when I go back or something else will grab my eye. I will get some photos of my treasures from here. The customer service is top-notch here and they carefully wrap everything.

He can paint the reflective surface of a lake in such away that you can still see the pebbles and fish below! Each piece is an original work of art. The leaves range in size from 4-5 inches all the way up to 11 inches and larger. He will make a piece from a leaf that you provide if you are not satisfied with the ones he uses. They are grape leaves, banana leaves, maple, all sorts of leaves and the colors are absolutely fabulous. You have to check out the website for the full effect. For someone with a math and science brain, I find this work is most unusual and yes, a few pieces did come home with me. Wow, what a fantastic space!…read more The Asheville Area Arts Council is located in the South Slope area near downtown Asheville. The outside of the building is painted in a gorgeous blue mural and is easy to find. The AAAC is a "collective voice for the arts" in the region. It celebrates the local art history and current working artists. They value innovation and collaboration and believe that art should be available to all! The space has galleries, studios, a media lab, and more. The art exhibit openings are great events. I recently attended their opening for "Who's afraid of Red" and was very impressed with the beautiful gallery space, large, clean and curated fabulously! The art show features all red works of art and was breath-taking to walk into. They had wine and non-alcoholic drink offerings as well as some red finger foods. I can't wait to go see this exhibit again while it's still up. This is definitely a gallery to stop by if you are a lover of the arts. While you're add it, stop at ZaPow, just right down the street as well.
