Our captain was amazing very helpful and informative. The crew was helpful and funny. The vibes were great. It was a sunset cruise even the captain was surprised to see dolphins. My kids had fun and it was the best experience they had in Kauai. We will definitely book a snorkel adventure for next time with the same company.

Enjoyed an awesome sunset dinner cruise with Blue Dolphin, complete with several close-up whale sightings and a couple dolphins spotted as well. Captain Kai was competent, informative, and very funny, as was crewmember Vayden, and Collin's mai tais are not to be missed. The food onboard was delicious and included traditional Hawaiian pulled pork and teriyaki chicken. Scrumptious cookies and bubbly rounded out the evening. Some things to be aware of: This cruise is on a catamaran; some of our party were expecting a small cruise ship that would have been a smoother ride. Waves are bumpy, and the windier parts of the trip resembled a mild roller coaster--if that's not your thing or you know you can experience some motion sickness, please factor that into your decision to book a trip. That being said, one person in our party experienced some light motion sickness and was really well cared for by the crew. We really appreciated their kindness and support. If you have sturdy sea legs and an adventurous spirit, I'd highly recommend this excursion. The views of Kauai from the ocean are worth it alone, but the information from the captain and crew about the island and its culture are also super valuable. The whole experience also felt very safe; the cruise will not go to areas with high wind/surf, and on our trip the captain explained why he was turning out of the wind/waves when he made that decision.

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Blue Dolphin Charters! From the moment we stepped on board, the crew operated like a well-oiled machine. They were organized, professional, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. We traveled the morning of July 9th (for credit to our crew). We did the breakfast/lunch snorkel and Nāpali coast catamaran. What stood out most was how well they cared for everyone on the boat. They were constantly checking in to make sure guests were comfortable, helping people safely up and down the stairs, serving food and drinks, and making the entire experience feel like an all-inclusive resort on the water. Every crew member was kind, upbeat, and made you feel like they were truly happy you were there. Our captain was fantastic--he was fun, knowledgeable, and full of interesting information about the Nā Pali Coast. We never felt rushed, and they even stopped so everyone could take photos of the breathtaking scenery. We traveled with our 15-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter, and both had an amazing time. There were also several younger children on board, and the crew was wonderful with them as well. The boat was clean, spacious, and easy to move around, which made the trip comfortable for everyone. The food was delicious, and the entire day exceeded our expectations. As if the stunning coastline wasn't enough, we were lucky enough to see two different pods of dolphins swimming alongside the boat--an unforgettable experience! The biggest compliment I can give? The next morning my 10-year-old daughter asked if we could book another trip because she loved it that much. If you're considering a Nā Pali Coast tour, don't hesitate--book with Blue Dolphin Charters. It was worth every penny, and the views are truly once-in-a-lifetime.

Lilly was absolutely amazing and helped make our cruise experience in Hawaii unforgettable. She went above and beyond to take care of me and my sister when we started feeling a little nauseous. My husband and I did not have a great time, but not because the fault of the crew, but because we had really bad motion sickness! Along the way the ride was pretty smooth. Our captain, Kai, was giving all sorts of interesting facts about the island and coastline. My husband and I were good until we reached the Napali coast and the waves got too choppy for us. I guess we are especially prone to motion sickness even after taking Dramamine. The coast itself was beautiful. It was a nice clear day and we were able to see the ridges on the Napali coast. We were good long enough to take some pictures and then we got really sick. I think we made the mistake of sitting on the top of the boat rather than the bottom. We had booked the dinner cruise, but unfortunately were not able to keep anything down. We also missed the champagne toast. One crew member noticed how much we're struggling and made sure to keep a close eye on us. He offered us water and ice many times to help keep us hydrated. He even packed us a plate so we can take our dinner home. I think his name was Vayder. He was outstanding. We didn't have the best time, but a glass half full type of person. We saw the beautiful coastline and the crew was great (Kai, Vayder, and Collin). The Napali coast is not something you will see very often, so book the tour! Perhaps be a little more prepared for any motion sickness if are sensitive to it.

Fantastic whale watching with an attentive, relaxed crew We did the 2-hour whale watching cruise with Blue Dolphin Charters, and it was excellent. We saw multiple breaches, tail slaps, fluke dives, and surface activity--the whales were active the entire time. The crew positioned the boat so well that we were able to stay in one great viewing spot and still see everything without moving around. The crew was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. Drinks and snacks were always taken care of--Mai Tais, coconut cookies, and snacks kept coming--and it genuinely felt effortless to just relax and enjoy the experience. The team was knowledgeable, calm, and respectful of the whales, offering helpful context without over-talking. The boat was comfortable, well run, and the two-hour length felt just right. If whale watching is on your list in Kauaʻi, Blue Dolphin is an easy recommendation

Such an unforgettable NaPali Coast sunset dinner cruise! Fantastic weather with an EPIC sunset complete with the green flash!!! Dinner was delicious....pulled pork, teriyaki chicken, Caesar salad and rice. Chocolate chip or coconut cookies for dessert were also so good. Bottomless Mai Tais or beer or wine....I mean, WOO HOO! Dolphins were so fun and playful. The staff was great fun....Captain Kai, First mate, Lily and second mate, Davika, did a fantastic job taking care of everyone! We have done this cruise at least 7 times...every time we bring friends we tell them this is a MUST SEE....beautiful and majestic. Thank you all...we would definitely do it again and again and again!

We did the sunset cruise and we loved it! We got to see the mountains and enjoyed a good meal as well. Drinks were complimentary. My wife and I seeked out adventure whenever we could find the chance- be careful, you will get soaked!!! We did not see any dolphins but did see plenty of good views!! Blue Dolphin Charters was the highlight of my sisters's birthday trip! We did the 5 hr snorkel raft tour and all I can say is how magical this experience was. Shout out to Captain Ruby and Lily.. they were top notch and made sure to take care of all our needs! Captain Ruby kept taking breaks to make sure we all felt comfortable and safe on our trip up there and Lily was our personal photographer / Ruby's right hand woman. 1,000,000 / 5 if that ranking is even allowed (need to check the Yelp terms and conditions) Captain Elia, Lily, Darren, and Evan couldn't have been better crew members during our excursion. Everything from stopping each time we saw a single dolphin, seeing a mother whale and her calf, to Darren making chicken sounds as loud as legally possible, it was by far and away the most unbelievable experience we could have had. As mentioned with every other 5 star review above and below, you couldn't paint better scenery along the Na Pali coast line, and getting within inches of schools of fish while snorkeling was surreal. The food was delicious and the drinks being served were excellent. This whole beautiful package was wrapped in a bow of spoken history of each significant location as told by Captain Elia. This was my first time even visiting the island and this is the main reason I am planning on returning, hopefully to the same crew, the same hospitality, food, and chicken sounds. Not sure why they list scuba we tried scheduling scuba and they put us on a boat that was just snorkeling. When we ask the front office about it they were extremely rude telling us they did not offer scuba, why could they not have told us sooner. Even the snorkeling was bad they only let us go for 15 minutes in a crowded area and got mad if you tried even getting a little distant from all the other families kicking you with their fins. Food was good and the crew was nice but the whole company seems dicey. Boat ride was way too long and drinks were awful. read more

Overall was pretty worth the money if you don't get seasick. The views they took us to look were pretty stunning. However, the crews could have been more thoughtful (at least on my boat). I told them that I was gonna eat later but they gave out all the food to other people and had nothing left for me nor any alternative. So I feel like a waste of my money to do "dinner cruise". Both me and my wife felt like they were bias more for certain race. We don't think everyone on our boat was treated equally. Not gonna write all the issues here but if you really wanna know, just message me. read more

This review is for the sunset dinner cruise. It was a beautiful sunny day with clear skies and calm surf when we went so it was the perfect ride! The captain was a local guy with extensive knowledge of Kauai's history and mythologies. He even knew a lot about the local military base and Hollywood filming locations. He played a great set list that really set the mood for fun and romance. His crew men were very kind and courteous, and were so helpful and enthusiastic about taking photos, making sure you are safe, and keeping you fed and watered. The buffet was AMAZING! My husband helped himself to three plates of food and I had two. They offered chicken, kalua pork, white rice, rolls, salad, poi, two kinds of cookies, and all the beer, wine, champagne, and cocktails you would want. All included in your fare! The captain even stopped a couple times to look for dolphins. We were able to catch a few of them at the surface of the ocean. We had so much fun and learned so much. The beauty of the Na'Pali Coast is unbeatable. It was like stepping back into time. DO NOT miss this trip and DO NOT choose another charter! The Blue Dolphin catamarans are large, clean, and spacious. Every spot has a good view. I would recommend that everyone take Dramamine and several bags of ginger drops with them though. No one on our tour was seasick and that's proof that these items will help! read more

I'm giving Blue Dolphin Charters a 1 star review for taking us out to sea (and our $400) on a horrible rainy, rough water day when the tour should have been cancelled. The captain kept telling us it would clear up shortly, it never did (which I'm sure they knew). It literally poured rain on us the entire time which limited our view a great deal! The water was so rough almost everyone on board was sea sick. At one point there was vomit all over the inside of the boat and we are all required to be bare foot! It turned into a torture ride for 5+ hours. In which everyone was cold, wet, throwing up and miserable. Everyone wanted to turn back but that wasn't an option. Towards the end someone even had chest pain from the entire ordeal. It was awful and a huge waste of time and money. The catamaran itself was nice and the food looked good except no one could really eat it. Due to the conditions the food could not be brought out until about 30 mins prior to docking. Our saving grace were the 2 skippers on board, They were angels!! These women worked nonstop throughout every moment of the "tour". They genuinely were concerned for every single person's comfort, safety and well being. They worked well as a team and seemed to be everywhere at once taking care of every single person's needs - which was a lot because everyone was miserable and sick. They were a comfort to all and made me and my family feel safe. I'm giving them 5 stars!!! Whatever they are getting paid I'm sure it's not enough!! Especially considering the cost of these charters!! I'm embarrassed that I forgot their names but I was so sick and miserable. read more

This five star is for our captain Nate and his team. Sorry I couldn't remember all's name but everyone onboard was amazing which is the highlight of our Hawaii trip. They are super friendly to the customers and Nate told us the best location to sit onboard to avoid seasick. They are also courteous in serving the food and drinks. We came across a few whales and Nate patiently waited for everyone to take pictures and explained the knowledge around the scenery. It was truly amazing experience and strongly recommending Blue Dolphin Charters for Kauai! read more

Today we joined 45 other people to take a catamaran out to the Na'Pali coast line and snorkel. If you have snorkeled a lot more than 10 times, then this will not impress you, but it's fun. If you have never been, then expect to see dolphins, turtles, and lots of fish. The captain of our boat was Capt' Chad. He was very entertaining and talked a bit about Hawaiian history along with the films made on our tour. The water was a little rough but that's what bonine is for. Great company to sail with. Great crew as well. read more

We did the sunset Napoli coast cruise with capt. Chad and mate Dane and Jenessa what a great experience Chad was one of the few captains that will get you up close and personal I even got to touch a waterfall. Some amazing views and great company I even got to karaoke. Highly recommend read more

Our ride with the deluxe na pali snorkeling cruise met our expectations. It was beautiful! Unfortunately, we experienced some sea sickness, but the crew knew exactly how to take care of us (tip: take some motion-sickness meds beforehand if you're easily affected). AMAMZING!! I have been on a few snorkel adventures and this one was the best so far. The crew was what made it over the top fun. After we headed back the crew got a few people to sing karaoke lol we got to see a ton of Dolphins and we swam with a huge turtle! They had breakfast for us just fruit and a cinnamon roll. Lunch was deli style sandwiches but they were super yummy. They also had alcoholic beverages and other drinks as well. read more

Excellent tour of the Napali Coast with the Blue Dolphin Charters team. Second time in a row with Captain Roy. His crew are super professional, safe and fun. For the past two years, we've brought our son (now six) on the ride and he's had a blast. Spinner dolphins, snorkeling and homemade cinnamon rolls. Three cheers to the caterer. The food was light and delicious. Okay, the cinnamon rolls don't count as light -- but they were awesome. I appreciate the environmental awareness each crew brought to the day, but bet your guests would pay a bit more for regular silverware and maybe even bring their own refillable water bottles to eliminate the plastic waste. Hate to see any of it end up in this beautiful ocean of ours. Thanks for a fantastic trip. read more

Captain Nate and Robert took us on an incredible whale watching tour topped off by a close encounter with a mother and baby humpback. The drinks were delicious (the Mai Tais in particular), snacks were filling (we had veggie wraps, chicken nuggets and fresh pineapples) and the crew went out of their way to make the experience an unforgettable one for us and our young kids. We took the 5+ hour snorkel and na'pali sightseeing cruise with Captian Chris and crew of Big John/Little John. My first impression was not great, as the ticket seller indicated that they provided everything and essentially to just 'show up'. Well it turns out we needed our own towel, so that was a frustrating added expense. We quickly forgot about that though because the excursion was AMAZING. We snorkeled with a giant sea turtle and saw tons of awesome fish. The food was good, and the crew was most excellent. The AM your means that the sun is not in an ideal location for pictures, but you can still see the beautiful coast for yourself. I am easily motion-sick, however did great with Dramamine. It was well worth our time and money. We saw TONS of dolphins! read more

Great time with Captain Chad and the Ryan's. We saw whales. We saw bottle nose dolphins swimming right next to us. Great food great drinks great service. The sunset view is a perfect way to enjoy a romantic moment that was preceded by many exciting moments. Also, the seas were rough on the north shore and we took the south shore route. We were lucky to be able to get seats on this amazing dinner cruise last minute for a family of 6. We had a good time and the crew was awesome (Nate, Rob and Sergio), thank you gentlemen for being kind, friendly, professional and courteous. My mother in law felt a little sea sick towards the end and Rob came and made sure she was ok and gave her ice chips and tips to help her feel better. Again, thank you gentlemen for a great environment. Oh, and the food was very good, tasty!! We will definitely come back and would recommend this cruise!! read more

My family and i went with Captain Cole and his crew today along the Na Pali Coast. This was my 7th time with Blue Dolphin and they never disappoint. The ocean provided a very "adventuresome" trip which only enhanced the experience for our 6 year old! The family was among the first to go snorkeling and the last to come in. Captain Cole and his crew were very friendly, hospitable, knowledgeable, and attentive. I strongly recommend them to anyone searching for a thoroughly enjoyable way to see the Na Pail Coast. Once again Blue dolphin Charters served up the perfect trip to the Na Pali coast. Mahalo to Capt Chris for a safe, Fun, smooth, and visually amazing, Breathtaking coastline. We saw Spinner dolphin,Hawaiian monk seal and her pup, turtles and plenty of fish. Mid morning coffee, cinnamon rolls and fruit were offered after the snorkel time , then after viewing the magnificent Na Pali coast they served up delicious Sandwiches w/veggies, potato Mac salad homemade cookies and open bar. Everything was top notch! Mahalo to the all crew includingSully and Sarah because customer service on Blue dolphin is always top notch. See you for whale watching next year. This review is long overdue. I've had this in my draft for almost a year now. Me and my friend went on this tour on July 16th last year. Words can't express how great our experience was with the tour. Our crew was absolutely amazing. When they found out it was my birthday they all wished me a Happy Birthday. Payton, Jose and Rob were so friendly and really wanted to get to know us. Captain Cole was very funny and at the same time very professional. Next time I'm in Kauai I'm definitely booking the same tour. read more

The crew was awesome (Cpt Joe, Danny, Quin--thank you all for an awesome boat ride, the photography, the food and Mai Tais)! The Na'Pali coast was breathtakingly beautiful though my camera malfunctioned--probably because it's only an iPhone 5 lol--so I don't have too many pics to share, sadly...the pics do it no justice anyway, it is an experience to be had! I'm so grateful we were able to book with them...an awesome last-minute decision. We saw a couple whales (though not guaranteed) and dolphins galore! I was so excited to go on this trip. It was my birthday and I thought it would be awesome based on all the reviews. Sigh. I gave this place 2 stars only because of the staff. They did a great job. The rest...well. Read on. The "continental breakfast" was a tasteless, cold cinnamon roll. Reheated to make seem fresh. Stale. Going back upstairs to where I was seated or walking anywhere with that in my hand was rediculously difficult -- impossible. We got to the snorkel spot -- a dead, abandoned coral reef. I saw 10 fish. That's it. Sigh. Getting back to our starting spot. NO SHADE anywhere. Oh, and before we even left, I was instructed to move my car to gravel lot way behind the check in spot. When we got back, I was blocked in by a van that parked perpendicular to me and right behind me. Sigh. I've been snorkeling all over Hawaii, the Caribbean and other amazing places. This was by far the worst overall boat and snorkeling experience. Boo. read more

What an unforgettable experience!! Check-In was painless and quick. This charter was extremely organized and Capitan Chad and his crew know how to party Kauai style !!! Where else can you get a one-of-a-kind tour from a Kauai local with waterfalls, sea turtles, dolphins, snorkeling, karaoke, lunch and an open bar. Nicole and Capitan Amber were friendly as well as accommodating and provided first class customer service as well as keeping all the passengers safe and ensured we all had a great time. My husband got a little sea sick and Nicole and Amber were constantly checking on him making sure he was okay. I've done these snorkeling tours before and this was by far the best experience. My wife and I took the Blue Dolphin Napali Coast Sunset cruise. It was honestly one of the most photographic and awesome experiences I've been on, given that this was my first time in Hawaii and on a catamaran cruise. The crew of Captain Joe, Stacey and Rob were plain amazing, funny and very helpful. They took great care of all the passengers during this 5 hour cruise. I've never gotten seasick before but on that day, I did and the crew were extremely helpful and took great care to check on me from time to time. Plus, since my wife and I are vegetarians, they made sure to have special meals packed for both of us with our names marked. They were also very friendly and hung out with all the passengers, offering to take photographs and making sure that everyone enjoyed the cruise. I will definitely go with them again, when I'm in Kauai. I absolutely and highly recommend them! read more

Price was $250 per person and we booked a couple days before the tour date. (we went at the end of March - the weather was fantastic and not too hot, also not raining). Although it was pricey, I felt like it was worth the experience and highly recommend anyone do a tour, even if it's not with this company. We got back to shore around 7-7:30pm, so total time was 5 hours ish. Pros: - the Na Pali coast is BEAUTIFUL - the views were truly a once in a life time experience for me and I saw the fullest rainbow I've ever seen - The tour guide was super informative, we learned a lot about whales, and they also taught us a lot about certain mountains and waterfalls that we passed on the Na Pali Coast (like where Kauai kings were buried). - We stopped to watch whales multiple times and it was really cool! - The 3 staff working on board the ship were extremely helpful in answering questions, providing drinks, and instructing people from a safety perspective - Safety - I felt very well taken care of the whole time. It's a barefoot cruise but people can choose to keep their shoes on if they want. They provided bags for people feeling nauseous and gave good advice when people were feeling seasick. - Food provided - it's not fine dining or anything (chicken teriyaki, salad, etc) but it does beat having to pack your own food or go hungry around dinner time. Also unlimited alcohol or nonalcoholic drinks. - The staff helped us take photos and there's a lot of great photo opportunities at the coast - Champagne toast at sunset, which was beautiful to watch out on the water - bathrooms available on board - My husband didn't feel like eating on board due to the motion sickness so they were kind enough to pack a to-go box for us! - Parking was easy and the meet up location was easy to find - we stood outside for most of the ride since it felt better than sitting inside, so we did get a bunch of sea-spray and got super wet from the 10 ft swells, but it felt really fun! Cons: - I think they need to put a huge disclaimer with statistics or something to show people how common it is for people to get seasick and vomit. I think maybe 5 people from our whole boat got really sick and either fell or vomited during the trip (can feel a little weird enjoying the beautiful view while someone smells like vomit next to you lol). They do tell you at the beginning that you can walk away and get a full refund after hearing the captain briefing during the meet up starting spot, but I don't think they really emphasize just how many people get sick. I personally felt fine but I felt really bad for people who had to gut through the five hour round trip feeling terrible. bring Dramamine!! This was definitely a highlight of my first time in Kauai, I wouldn't necessarily do it more than once due to the price, but it was a fantastic experience for the views!

DRAMAMINE, y'all…read more You're choosing to do the Na'Pali coast from the North Shore, which means smaller boats, and choppier waves. I took one Dramamine, the night before. Then another, an hour before our departure. AND THE BOAT RIDE WAS GREAT. I was all smiles and adventure and breathing -in the ocean air and wind! Unlike, a few folks, who were NOT doing so well. (One or two barfed over the side, but thankfully I didn't notice. Know how your body handles boats and waves. Don't do tours like this, without proper prep. It will NOT be fun if you underestimate it.) Check-In staff was super friendly, and personal. They remembered me from my original email. Sweet. Parking was easy. Shuttles team was super friendly. The strangers we rode with, all turned out to be cool. 2 boats go out (mini-catamarans, with cover from the sun). They expertly traverse the waves, and cliffs, and the caves, giving you some amazing first-hand visuals and photos. But yeah, that boat will be a rockin', during those up-close cave moments. Spoiler: You probably won't see whales, unless you're there before May. But we DID see a cute pod of Dolphins, who cozy'd up to our boat for a while. Our boat had Casey and Spencer. They were wise beyond their years, in all things Kauai. Funny and friendly. Spencer navigated the heck out of those waves, while Casey handled the nauseous passengers with MOTHERLY CARE. Spencer was 50/50 on allowing us to snorkel, based on conditions and a previous scare, a few weeks prior. But he ultimately made the call to GET IN THE WATER. He wisely kept us on a leash (not literally), whistling at swimmers when they got too close to a reef (with waves that could wash you onto the reef). It was fun and chill. Saw a HUGE, MASSIVE KING DADDY SEA TURTLE. He did not enjoy us as much as we enjoyed him and he bounced. Followed by a JR. Turtle, who stuck around a bit longer. Tons of fish. On the way back -- a very bouncy and splashy affair in the best way for those of us who were adventurous enough to sit in the bow -- we stopped at Tunnels Beach to snorkel the outer reef, which was full of tropical fish and turtles. The tour included lunch and refreshments as well. Overall a great way to spend an afternoon -- definitely a 5-star experience. A word to the wise-- the northwest corner of Kaua'i is often rainy and can get a bit cold when the wind is up, so not a bad idea to bring something extra to throw on after you finish the snorkel and are heading back to port.

Such a yummy snack to share it had local purple sweet potato chunks, mushroom and local kale in the bread pudding and the pesto on the side was super flavorful. Our trip with Blue Dolphin Charters was hands-down one of the best experiences we had on Kauai! From the moment we walked through the doors and on board, it was clear that this crew (Captain J-sea, Vayden, Collin, Pa'a) truly loves what they do -- and that passion shines through in every detail. The entire charter team was born and raised on Kauai, and their knowledge of the island, its history, and culture made the tour so much more meaningful. As we cruised along the stunning Nā Pali Coast, they shared stories, legends, and insights that we would have never gotten from a guidebook -- it felt like we were seeing the island through the eyes of people who deeply care for it. We booked a sunset Napali Coast tour during our Kauai trip. Our crew for the evening were Captain Joe, Sully and Rob. Due to an earlier incident the day before where I got sick on a helicopter tour, I took Bonine for this trip, as recommended by the staff in the Blue Dolphin office. I also purchased some of the ginger candies available. We had a gorgeous evening for our cruise. Captain Joe managed to get really close to a waterfall coming off the cliffs so some people could get soaked (why you would want to was beyond me!). My husband and I spent as much time as we could right at the front of the boat, enjoying the ride. The tour was great! We did see a few whales, and Captain Joe slowed down/stopped the boat so we could watch them for a bit. His information about the island was interesting, although we couldn't hear all of it due to us being at the front of the boat. Our loss, not their fault. On the ride back, the ocean was quite a bit more choppy, and it was requested that we stay more in the back of the boat. Rob and Sully were great when people decided to get up, and helped everyone go up or down the stairs as needed. They kept us entertained. They also were willing to take numerous photos of everyone on board at different times during the cruise. We enjoyed the food, too. The worst part for me was when I needed to use the restroom in the bottom of the boat. Let's just say that I'm thankful I took some motion sickness pills and was on the upper decks for most of the cruise. **5 Stars Blue Dolphin Charters Exceeded Every Expectation** Captain Evan, Nicole (first mate), Bryan, and Cole made our Napali Coast trip absolutely incredible! Captain Evan's navigation skills were flawless. You could tell he really knows these waters. I spent time talking with him on the bridge and we exchanged great stories. He's a natural who knows the water incredibly well and is just very cool and capable. Nicole has special skills at proactively managing everything. She's one of those people who just stands out the moment you meet them. She knows exactly what to do before you even realize it needs doing. The entire crew was constantly checking on everyone, making sure we felt safe and taken care of. Bryan and Cole were giving 100% and were totally awesome too. With 50 people on board, I was amazed at how smoothly they all managed everything together. They're incredible communicators and really know how to read situations. Everyone did their job perfectly, and you could see they genuinely care about giving guests the best experience possible. The trip itself was magical. We saw waterfalls, dolphins, and sea turtles. The snorkeling was fantastic. They provided amazing lunch, snacks, drinks, and cookies throughout the day. The weather was perfect for us, but I could tell this crew would handle any conditions professionally. Their attention to safety never wavered while still making sure everyone had an amazing time. Kauai itself is a magnificent island, but Captain Chad and his crew (Matt and Peyton) really made this a unique and exquisite experience. Chad is native to the island and his knowledge reflects how much he loves Kauai and he really shares that love with the entire group. He was very interactive and has an amazing eye for wildlife. We were able to see a couple sea turtles, a couple mountain goats off the cliff, and were even able to see a pack of dolphins. He is also awesome at handling his boat, we were able to get close enough to stand under a waterfall and even take a picture near another. Once at the coast we had a nice dinner (caesar salad, pulled chicken, pork, pineapple, rice, bread, cookies) not to mention it was open bar the entire ride. There are also non alcoholic drinks for those who do not want (or cannot have) alcohol. Group size was about 30 people but there was a lot of room on the boat to move around and be comfortable (2 tier deck plus a cabin area). In terms of the restrooms, for a boat they were pretty clean and usable. And safety, they had enough life vests for everyone to grab two if they were ever needed. This is a must do for those who want to truly enjoy the Na Pali coast and I highly suggest requesting Chad by name if you book the Na Pali Sunset Dinner Cruise. PS. If you sit in the front, expect to get wet. read more

Captain and crew are always top notch! My husband and I go out with them all the time, and we're learning more and more and more about the island through their narratives. It really opens our eyes to all the hidden history and knowledge these guys have of this amazing island. The scuba instructors are always informative and keyed in on keeping us safe while making sure we enjoy ourselves underwater. The food is consistently fresh and there is enough variety to satisfy my vegetarian tastes between the fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls in the morning to the delectable potato salad and verge sandwiches for lunch (you get to make your own sandwich on the buffet). Even though we're starting to get a little tired of the same sandwich setup, for some reason we're always ravenous after our dives, so it is really great to have this food waiting! And the free alcohol :) These guys are great about making sure you have a cold beer or mai tai in hand! It's a rain or shine cruise, as we learned on our last adventure with blue dolphin. The rain made a lot of the waterfalls run along the na pali coast. One of the crew explained to us that since the water was diverted from the Alaka'i swamp, the waterfalls have stopped flowing. What a treat to see that. The rain also made for calm seas, which wad great. read more

I did the Sunset Dinner Tour and it was the highlight of my trip to Kaua'i. You'll see a lot of people here giving 5 stars (myself included) and they are entirely accurate reviews. The Captain and crew were fun, smart, witty, knowledgeable and more than capable at navigating the tough waters. Captain Chad knows the ocean like the back of his hand, which made me feel very safe. His competence and skill allowed us to see and experience parts of the coast that most other companies avoid. The food was delicious. In contrast to the stellar reviews, I've read some of the negative ones. If you are considering Blue Dolphin Charters, you'll need to know these things before making a reservation in order to avoid any bad experiences: (1) from what I've been told, the water is even rough on the best and sunniest day along the Na Pali coast; (2) the weather on Kaua'i is unpredictable and moves fast; (3) Kaua'i, up in the mountains of Na Pali, is the wettest place on Earth, which means rain is a big probability; (4) this is NOT a fancy dinner cruise. Sea sickness is therefore a big probability, so is getting wet. I got a little sea sick and drenched to the bone, but you know what? I would do it all over again because those views are to die for. Joe, Danny and Lindsey were amazing hosts. We will always stick with this company when going to Kauai. My husband and I took our 5 1/2 year old son on the 2 hour Poipu whale watching sunset tour. All I can say is amazing! They keep their boat clean and clear. The crew were great with everyone, comical, extremely safe and accommodating. The moment you take off, they came around passing Mai Tais out and taking drink orders. The light snacks were quality and super tasty. We were surprised. The crew was amazing with our son and making sure he got a good seat and views. The experience with Blue Dolphin Charters definitely exceeded our expectations. Words cannot express what we saw, many whales and dolphins were out, but to experience it out and about leaves us simply speechless. Many of the tourists shared with us that they have been on many other tours and this was their best experience as well. Whatever this company is doing, please keep up the great job! We are already thinking about when to go back to Kauai and we are planning on doing a longer tour with Blue Dolphin for sure. Amazing Blue Dolphin Tour with the Best Crew - Ruby & Lily! We had the most unforgettable time on the Blue Dolphin tour along the breathtaking Nā Pali Coast in Hawaii! From start to finish, everything was smooth, fun, and full of good vibes - and that's all thanks to the incredible girl squad: Ruby and Lily. These two brought so much energy, knowledge, and laughter to the experience. They made everyone feel welcome and comfortable, whether it was your first time on the water or you're a seasoned traveler. Their enthusiasm was infectious - we were smiling the entire trip. This was such a fun experience but definitely not for the faint of heart. Our crew of Luke and Kai were spectacular. They were super knowledgeable, made it a point to check on each of the different parties (we had a couple of people who had sea sickness) and they made it a point to try to make them as comfortable as possible. Yes the waves were pretty EXCITING (as in 5-6ft swells) heading out, but Luke navigated it safely and beautifully and honestly all the wind and water splashing around in your face makes it all the more fun! The coast itself is so gorgeous AND the wildlife is plentiful. Literally saw a pod of dolphins maybe less than 30 minutes in, but we also saw tons of turtles, eagle spotted rays, and fishes. The only thing I might improve but I also understand why it was done was the lunch. The package mentioned sandwiches but we received a wrap (probably for convenience) but we have some picky eaters in our group and a wrap meant it was much harder for them to pick out the stuff they didn't want. However the chips, drinks, and cookies made up for it. read more

This whale watching tour exceeded all expectations from start to finish. We were lucky enough to see multiple whales up close, and Captain Cole's knowledge made the experience even more incredible. He shared fascinating facts about whale behavior and clearly knew exactly where to go--his experience really showed and made us feel confident and safe the entire time. The food on board was a wonderful bonus. Everything was fresh, tasty, and thoughtfully prepared, which made the trip even more enjoyable while we waited for sightings and took in the views. I was also very impressed with the cleanliness of the boat. We went out with NaPali Coast Raft Adventures, Captain Noheli and Crew Jacob. It was the absolute best ride we've had to date! No-No and Jacob were knowledgeable, professional and entertaining. We learned much about the history of Kauai, the costal original peoples as well as wave and tide information. We got to see a rip tide and Noheli showed us what a rip tide is and looks like as well how to survive one. It was fascinating. The spinner dolphins surrounded us at one point, and Noheli told us about them being asleep in the morning. He shared that they always buddy up for sleep so their brains can shut down. Actually, it's only half their brains and it's the inside half of the buddy system. Really cool! We were completely impressed with Captain Noheli's ability to maneuver through the many obstacles of weather and waves. What an experience!! I think it would be hard to argue that any boat ride up the Napali coast is going to be more spectacular than the next. Same island, same breath taking views, same ocean... What was exceptional about this blue dolphin tour was the quality of the people captaining/hosting this charter. Captain Danny and his crew where the exception! First off, holy they are fun!! And not like that annoying; "make everyone scream" but rather genuinely charming and humorous. They were constantly offering to take photos, handing out snacks/drinks and sharing info about the area. Captain Danny even shared with me a great spot to check out the massive swell making its way in this weekend. But you'll have to go on the tour for insider scoop like that! Thank you Blue Dolphin, Captain Danny, Mike and Q for a great tour!! PS, We saw so many whales!! I couldn't get a good shot but there were tons. What an amazing crew! We went out with Captain Christian, Mike and Cole. They combined beautiful views of the Na Pali coast, fun and entertainment, and guest safety all into a wonderful afternoon of delight. We took the dinner cruise, leaving the harbor about 2:30 or so, and returned to see the beautiful sunset. The views of the Na Pali coast cannot be described! Captain Chris kept us informed throughout our trip, Mike and Cole visited each and everyone on board, making sure we were having a good time and feeling ok, especially as the seas were a little rough. (Consider taking Bonine or Dramamine before going out) The crew offers Ginger Ale and pretzels as soon as we left the docks to help settle stomachs. Dinner was good and drinks were plenty once we turned around. An impromtu sing-along to the tunes playing onboard was headed by Cole, on our way home. What an amazing day! The weather was iffy and the ocean was starting to experience the first winter swells of the season, but it didn't take away from the wonderful day that we both had celebrating our birthdays. Matt, Ryan, Johnny, and Capt. Christian were so fun, hospitable and informative throughout the whole trip, that it didn't really matter that the conditions weren't the greatest. Matt was so friendly and we loved that he went around and visited and spent time with every group on the boat....and not to mention, he makes a pretty mean Mai Tai! Ryan made sure that we were safe in the water (we only snorkeled) and would try to point out different wildlife in the murky conditions. Great group of guys and I hope to see them again soon! This is the best way to explore the Na Pali coast in Kauai! WOW! Four of us spent the morning on the deluxe snorkel cruise. We had a blast snorkeling and taking in the scenery and marine life. Cole (captain) was hilarious and provided fun and informational commentary on what we were seeing. He even made the rules fun. Quite the feat! Two of the four of us ended up getting seasick about halfway into it but Stacey and Luke (crew) were PHENOMENAL!! They took care of our friends with ice water, napkins, and tips on how to beat the seasickness. They kept us all comfortable and laughing no matter our nausea level. When we returned, we all agreed that if we could just turn the boat around and do the tour again right then and there, we would. It was the best way to end our time in Kauai! My family and I booked the Deluxe Napali Coast Tour and Snorkeling. We started out on time with a brief safety session by Captain Chris and his crew members Dane and Kai. Shoes are not allowed unless they are boat shoes, so there is space to put them. I would recommend bringing a swimsuit, towel, and underwater camera as food (continental breakfast and sandwiches) and drinks are thoroughly provided. The trip was about 4.5 hours, and if you are prone to motion sickness, take a Dramamine the night before and one or two pills 1-2 hours before the tour. The two crew-members were very helpful, and they took any photos you wanted! They were very knowledgeable about the island and Niihau (the native-only island). Captain Chris was a thorough speaker, so be prepared for a lot of jokes. This boat tour was definitely worth it; the Napali Coast is truly a must-see for Kauai!! read more

Blue dolphin canceled trip yesterday due to a windy weather system causing unsafe swells- no problem, they called early am. Rescheduled to today, drove out, checked in, signed release, paid, reparked where they told us, waited with crowd, THEN they announced would not go to Na'apali due to 19 ft swells. The waves are supposed to be 12 ft. tomorrow and doubted they'd be able to make the trip tomorrow (they knew full well they couldn't today as this is all a result of same system and is dying down). Bet they'll book passengers and repeat the deception again. Real low class outfit manipulating customers for profits. The tour they wanted to switch to was $40 less but they weren't reducing charge. We wanted refund but since online thru THEIR website needed "processing time". My wife had to ask for a receipt indicating cancellation. Wow. read more

We enjoyed the dinner cruise (no snorkeling) up the Na Pali coast from Port Angeles. The captain was excellent as was the crew. They give amazing service and are extremely friendly. Whatever you want or need they are there to assist you. Food was very good and cocktails are endless if you want to go that route. The narration is very good also. The crew and captain are very knowledgeable about the area. They give you a lot of local knowledge and history on the way. We saw spinner dolphins, waterfalls, and water caves. The sunset was spectacular but not guaranteed. If you get sea sick, they are very helpful and don't make it a big deal. I wouldn't recommend it for very young children. It is a long boat ride and it's all about the view and the narration. Wonderful trip! read more

We had a blast on the Blue Dolphin catamaran yesterday. Even though the waves were pretty rough due to the trade winds, Captain Chad and his two mates, Nicole and Eoni (?) did a great job both with safety and fun. They were very attentive and generous with the free drinks and the dinner was very good. With COVID their jobs were even more complicated and difficult but they handled it with grace and humor. It was Chad's first trip out after being closed for 8 months and he went out of his way to make the voyage special, giving "insider" Kauai resident information and even brought the boat close enough to the cliffs for people to have the waterfall fall on them. We would heartily recommend Blue Dolphin and hopefully you will get the same crew we did. read more
