Came here for a night out with friends. Really nice staff, and attentive. The owner even had a little chat with us and was super nice. The food was good, the drinks as well were tasty. Personally, my first impression of this place with that night out made me want to come back out! I know some reviews didn't really agree, but I really enjoyed it and will be back. I booked the restaurant using a third party tok but you need to prepay the table. However, the restaurant never deducted the amount I prepaid to the final bill. They refused to give the money back and I pay almost $200 extra. Food was not the best either. Only the entertainment. read more

The setting on a Friday night seemed like the place had everything figured out. Then the food and drinks started to arrive and that's when it went downhill. The specialty drinks were over priced and we tried three different ones where they were either too spicy or too bitter. The steak was thinly sliced and over cooked, the shrimp was over cooked because it was mushy and hard to take the skin off. The service was good which is why it's getting 1 star. The decor was awesome. Proximity to the city about a 35 minute drive to Melrose Park. Location was easily accessible as the restaurant has parking. I was super excited to visit this establishment. The service was sub pre considering the restaurant seats no more than 30 and there was 10+plus employees. I had 2 drinks and a shot along with a steak dinner with chimmi sauce. Food was okay, very over priced. The tequila experience was present as the server explained where the tequilas originated. $160 dollars later we were sober and hungry. As we left my partner used the restroom and a couple minutes later I received a text saying hey please come help me. I went to the restroom and couldn't get the door to open. The manager had a lady go into restroom to unlock the door with a flathead screw driver. After she was let out of the restroom we looked at the manager and he did was put his head down. I did mot want to leave this review but hopefully management sees this and does something about it. Very disappointed in this restaurant and how matters were handled. I do not recommend it unless you have no other choices to eat mexican and drink tequila (which shall be no problem). read more

This is a place I've driven by probably hundreds of times, but until a friend recommended it I never thought about going. Was I missing out! Great selection of tequilas - and the drinks they make from those tequilas are fantastic. The food is tapas/small plates; the tacos were amazing as were the cheese dishes and salsas (some of our party thought they were too spicy, but really they were just right.) Total bill for a party of six was $360 (including a number of drinks); the price seems fine for Oak Park but might be a bit high for the area. Ambience is great; there was a band that came on at 10, which caused the place to become more full than when we arrived. All in all, a great experience, and I'm looking forward to my next visit! read more

This has to be one of my top 5 favorite burb spots. I made reservations for a Saturday around 7:30. I made the mistake of thinking we'd stop by for dinner and then head out with our friends quickly thereafter. But once I started drinking, I couldn't leave. In a non-alcoholic way, of course. The best part about this weirdly shaped gem? The cocktails. I tried the following: (don't judge, I was curious) piña, mezcal old fashion, jesus Maria, Paloma and I think one more? They were all incredible but the Jesus Maria took the gold for me. Food was pretty good, but the menu is tapas and small plates so be prepared for that. Definitely get the asada tacos. Music started at 10 and it made a great ambiance. Before the music, it was pretty dead. Which leads me to my lack of one star- As mentioned, I made a reservation. When we arrived it was DEAD. I mean, we were the ONLY table in there for at least an hour. They tried to seat us by the door and I politely asked for a different seat (since it's empty and I'm cold by the door). The host was sweet, but instead only offered us the cushioned seats. Eating in the seats is the most embarrassing thing I've done all year. It's impossible. Anyway, it was really dead and I truly felt they could've been more accommodating and given us a different seat but she kept saying "we just get soo busy" which really annoyed me since it was (again) dead and didn't get busy until 940. Pretty frustrating, but I'll give them another shot because the sever was outstanding. read more

I was here for the Mexico Brazil World Cup game where the restaurant had a special buffet style food menu for the game which was incredible. The drinks were excellent and super creative. I was here about to weeks ago on a Wednesday night. They had a slow night as we were the only ones there so we received all the attention which was great. The drinks are sooo good we tried just about all of them. They are pricey but they are so worth it, not watered down or cheap taste at all. Went here when they first open. Their food service had not started yet but the venue, drinks and customer service were great even then. This weekend, my sisters and I went here for Mother's Day brunch. The food was basic but delicious and high quality. The drinks are still very good. I highly recommend this place. Please don't ever change! I was here Saturday for my birthday and la tequileria really did an outstanding job. They already have the elegant, Mexican, good lighting ambience that immediately makes you feel just right. Couple that with the beautifully crafted cocktails which look as good as they taste (yummy fresa picante). Then the food is legit on par with the fantastic drink menu. I had agua Chile ceviche, tinga tacos and steak skewers with chimichurri... All so good. The live music is always super special as well. This is my favorite modern Mexican experience in the Chicagoland area. I've been here a couple of times and it's awesome. The food is incredible and the drinks are even better. I was immediately greeted by a friendly face, and when I sat down for a drink the manager, Elliot, introduced himself to me shortly after. I ordered the Jesus María cocktail, which was an excellent choice. This is a high-end tequila bar with an eclectic variety and reasonable prices for the quality you're getting. It's managed and staffed by locals, which means you're supporting local business and enjoying some great cocktails.
