    Chicken al pastor protein bowl
    Grace A.

I really enjoyed this place. Luckily we got there when it wasn't that busy because it was raining. We were originally told 30 minutes, but we actually got seated right away in the corner. The place was a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. We ordered the pork belly, guacamole, and we got chips and salsa. The pork belly was really flavorful so was the salsa. Our friend's 3-year-old also liked it. For my meal, I got the chicken al pastor protein bowl. The chicken was moist and had so much flavor. It came with corn, rice, and beans. Our server Cassey (sp?) was incredibly sweet and attentive, but not too attentive. They have happy hour between 4-6pm from Sunday to Thursday so we got our drinks at a pretty good price. I would definitely come here again.

The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.

Fantastic choice! The menu is very "urban hipster" vibes. Plenty of burgers, lots of fun appetizers, charcuterie, one of my friends has some dietary restrictions and they were easily able to accommodate her needs which made us all very happy. This spot has a great bar in the front, and a smaller bar in the rear of the place. Outdoor seating as well as covered seating. Plenty of shade as well which will serve their patrons nicely in the coming Texas summer months. This is also a dog friendly dining spot, plenty of people were there with some amazing canine companions (always ask before you pet a strangers pup, it's just polite and courteous. Almost no one says No!). Assuming you don't have a dog allergy, this will hopefully be a feature. There is a relatively new apartment complex across the street and I get the feeling a lot of the people stopping in were regulars who bring in their dogs during walkies and grab a bite before heading back home, but that is just pure conjecture on my part. Either way, it was a fun inviting atmosphere. The music was nice, not too loud for my old man ears to enjoy but still present enough to be part of the evening without being intrusive. Staff was very nice, helpful, friendly, etc. Everything one would expect from a fine Texas eatery. Lots of spicier options on the menu if you're into that, but by no means anything overpowering. My guess is the owner has stock in some jalapeno growers farm somewhere and the food is all the better for it! If you're in the area already or if you're thinking of branching out for a nice new burger spot, this place is great and I will be returning. I live nearby so it'll likely become part of the regular rotation for us in the coming months. We are spoiled for choice in this area when it comes to good burgers being close to Grumps, close to Kincaid's, and close to Tommy's up on Camp Bowie. But this place competes on good burgers and if you're looking for a fun hangout atmosphere, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Easily recommended! Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it! Cheers!

The swank, Art Deco atmosphere matches the hotel perfectly, but the food is the real star. For lunch, the Wicked Burger was phenomenal. Built with cheddar, caramelized onions, mushrooms, and a rich sauce on a toasted sesame brioche bun, it hits every savory note perfectly. The rest of the table was equally thrilled with their choices, including the French Dip (loaded with caramelized onions, provolone, and horseradish-garlic aioli on a baguette with a stellar au jus) and the crisp Steak Cobb salad. The truffle fries were a massive hit and a frequent topic of conversation around the table, and even the fountain Diet Coke was perfectly calibrated. I'd be completely remiss if I didn't mention the monster rolls brought out for the table--they are giant, incredibly airy, golden popovers served with a spectacular rosemary honey butter that steals the show before the main course even arrives. For breakfast, I wanted to stay on the healthier side and ordered the Sinclair Breakfast with chicken sausage. The sausage delivered incredible flavor with a perfect, distinct peppery bite. The plate was beautifully balanced with delicate microgreens, and the breakfast potatoes were a total standout--perfectly executed with a great outer char and deep flavor. Paired with excellent, robust Lavazza drip coffee, it was a flawless start to the morning. Across both visits, the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and highly attentive with beverage refills.
