Amazingly lovely food, awesome service and great ambiance. Pulido's Kitchen checks every box, highly recommend.

I've heard Bud Kennedy talk about this place and I love trying old restaurants so we decided to mark Pulido's off the list. Our service was fast - too fast to make you almost question if everything including fajitas is premade. We ordered queso and about 90 seconds later before we even got our first chip dipped all of our food arrived. The combo plates tasted like every other Tex mex place - good but nothing unique or special. The fajitas were just okay with the store bought tortillas. Good place for some standard Mexican grub. I grabbed lunch here with a buddy of mine and ordered the #4 combination off the lunch menu. A cheese enchilada with chili con carne, beef taco, with rice and beans. Pretty tasty. Chili con carne sauce was great, taco shell what to have been fried in house as it tasted so fresh and crispy. Standard rice and beans on the side. It was served really fast, got our food within 4 minutes of ordering and served with a smile. Place has a cool, separate little bar area. read more

lf you're alone don't order the half pound bag of chips cuz I had no idea that was going to be a family size when I got that for takeout lol. And apparently both my entrees came with chips too because there were two smaller bags originally and smaller salsas. The quesadilla was really good-- just on the greasy side. The soup was also really flavorful, loved all the vegetables in it-- came with, again, way too many tortilla strips haha. The guac side portion was a bit small. I grew up in Pulido's and have many great childhood memories there, but hadn't been back in years, and not since their recent rebrand. Our recent weekend visit proved that this spot is actually better than ever and is my new favorite Tex-Mex spot in all of Fort Worth, which is really saying something. The margaritas are fresh and perfect, the chips and salsa are tangy and fresh out of the fryer, and their beef fajitas, which at a lunch portion are the perfect size and price, feature some of the best quality meat in town and are much better than Pulido's competitors. Classic Fort Worth Tex-Mex with all of the flavor and none of the frills, I was seriously impressed. Pulido's is hallowed ground for Fort Worthians in the know, and their reinvention does that history justice. read more

Pulido's is back! With the Westland group resurrecting part of the franchise, we opted to stop in on a Saturday for lunch to check things out. Good news is, if you were wanting the Pulido's you grew up with, then this is it! With Covid, I realized I had taken too many staples and hallmarks of the local food scene for granted. The same places you frequented in your neighborhood time and time again and only in a blip they were suddenly gone. So it really is nice to see places like Pulido's being brought back. Just as expected, we were greeted with speedy service and some chips and salsa. The Wife and I both opted for a Pulido's hallmark, some puffy tacos. They were delicious. Even better was having restaurant ownership that actually cares about keeping places like Pulido's around, not just in name, but the old buildings as well. So we plan on making sure we continue to support ventures such as this to get more classic, simple, neighborhood Tex-Mex...and perhaps a margarita or two at the bar. read more

This place is in an odd location. Not that it's bad just wouldn't expect to see a Mexican place where it is. It's walking distance to my hotel so decided to give it a go. On the outside it looked dead. Man that was a rope a dope. Place was jumpin'. Lots of people and was a 30 minute wait. The host got me into the bar at a table so I could get in and get out. And here is where it went downhill. Ordered a guac to start and a lunch quesadilla. Simple. Quick. You'd think. I waited around 15 minutes for my guac, and probably 40 minutes total for my quesadilla. Then when they brought it out, they didn't bring the rice and beans until 5 minutes after. But by that point I was almost full from th chips and guac. They bar was in disarray, they missed food for some tables. Then got the orders wrong for others. Wrong things on the wrong check. Etc. Once I got my food it was okay, nothing to write home about but filled me up and I went to the hospital. I might try them again on an off time, because they just didn't handle the lunch rush well. read more

It's truly authentic Tex Mex. The food nor service was the reason the Pulidos brand closed. Good for us, the new owners did not change the menu or staff. It is really as they closed for some renovations. Family friendly service. The restaurant has a large room that is great for groups. Took about 20 for lunch and the staff (they were warned ahead of time) did an excellent job. The full bar and plenty of chips and salsa kept everyone happy. read more

My husband said how about I take you to a hole in the wall Mexican place. I was like ok let's do this. You know I like those little hidden places. Instead he takes me to this upscale hole in the wall Mexican place, with fancy almost cloth napkins and Aztec style wood chairs... I don't think he knows what hole in the wall means. This place is cute. Service was nice and prompt. To add to the awesome review they even had the big bottles Mexican Coke! I was in Mexican Heaven! The lunch portion was very nice for both the fajitas and tamales. Chips with bowls of salsa for everyone. No sharing at this fancy place! We went to try the new location in Willow Park and needless to say it was a very big disappointment. We ordered two different entrees one was the Poppa Pulido they put the wrong sauce on the cheese enchiladas and the refried beans were scorched all the way across the board. The puffy taco shell was incredibly stale and inedible. After everything the server said she told the manager and he said he was offering is a free dessert. After the crappy food you served us, we didn't eat half of it. Instead of coming to the table and addressing us. Four managers were in the building and couldn't come to the table. They continued to serve the burnt beans and lost two customers permanently. Sad thing is it's a great location and a nice place read more

Our servers were very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Old Fashion Enchiladas with Charro Beans. The two cheese enchiladas were tasty and I especially enjoyed the Charro Beans with their special added ingredients. The salsa was just the right amount of Picante. You had to wait a while for it to kick in but it was worth the wait. I wish Dos Molinas would use their formula. The food was just good basic TexMex!! As I said I really enjoyed their Charro Beans they're on par with the Pinto beans at Herrera's in Oak Cliff. I'm planning on returning soon! I admire señor Pulido who I believe worked in the T&P rail yards across the street and took the opportunity to open this restaurant. He's what the United States is all about!! read more

The food is incredibly bland, if you do get a decent server, the owner will get in the middle of it and cause problems acting like he knows what he's doing. I went there tonight with my family. They brought everyone's food out except for mine. I told them multiple times and they just looked at me and walked away. Then after everyone else was about halfway done eating, the owner came over and said oh I'm sorry. Let me get your food. I don't want to eat after everyone else is already halfway done, especially when it has bland, disgusting flavorless food. The place is overcrowded and overpacked with drunks. It's not a restaurant. It's just a bar for people to be seen at best. It'd be better going down the street to Taco Bell. This place used to be decent, but it was bought by a corporation that just puts out trash food. read more

Our first time to this location. We were served immediately and checked on for refills just as needed. The beef fajita lunch was very flavorful and was a more than generous portion for lunch. Had plenty left over for dinner for 2 people. The cheese enchiladas were wonderful. My husband ate every bite. My grandson loved the beef chile rellano, and my great grandson declared the nachos the best he ever had. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. Went a couple weeks after it reopened. Almost didn't go because all the reviews on Yelp and Google I was reading said it wasn't the same, everything had changed. It had been awhile since I had eaten at one, used to eat at the Arlington location somewhat often. Figured I would go just to see if it really was different. Not sure what people are talking about. I used to go to Pulido's to get tex mex, and that's what I got. I didn't think anything was that different, if at all. Maybe the salsa consistency was a little different...maybe, but pretty much the same. I got the cheese enchilada and hard shell taco lunch, with rice and beans. It all tasted pretty good to me, and it's $9 and change, a great deal. Like I said, pretty much what I remember. Someone I know said they had gone, and thought it was exactly the same, and people they knew also thought it was the same. Anyway, service was good, food came out pretty quick, there was a good, but not full house crowd when I went in the middle of an afternoon weekend. I'm not sure what the deal is, but if you're asking me, it's pretty much the way I remember it. I'll be going back. I guess the only way to find out is go check it out yourself. read more

Well it ain't the same Pulido's. This was the original location and the jd's burgers. Folks have cleaned it up and rehabbed the place. Unfortunately they changed some of the basic recipes. It's straightforward TexMex, basically enchiladas and tacos and tamales. Pulido's was a blue collar minichain that was built on selling value and great TexMex favorites to railyard and factory workers. It was always one of my favorites for just basic TexMex. Hot sauce and chips were fine. Service was friendly and attentive. I got a combo platter with two cheese enchiladas and a tamale all with chili gravy. Requested onions in the enchiladas. Wife got a cheese enchiladas with chili, a soft cheese taco, and a tamale with chili. Both had refried beans and rice. The cheese enchiladas were missing the onions, the big miss was the chili gravy. It was loaded with beef which many will like but it was slightly scorched and the flavor profile certainly wasn't the old Pulidos. It lacked spice, cumin was definitely toned down. The tamale was disappointing; the masa cakey and filling very bland. Beans were scorched and seemed to be missing lard, the rice was average. So I had hopes the food would be better. It's ok, I would have returned it for being scorched but we had an appointment to make. I wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more

Pulido's has reopened after a closure. The menu is basically the same as the original. They have a very diverse selection on their menu great Tex-Mex recipes. My favorite is the chili Rios with ground beef. They have a papa dinner which has a few selections and they have a Mama dinner which is also good. There's always something my family loves to order. Had a wonderful evening at Pulidos. Visiting from Oregon. Dinner one night and everyone enjoyed their meals. Taco salad for me and it had a surprising amount of chicken in it. Super service and quick delivery of food by amazingly friendly staff. Drinks were great too! Came back for another round of margaritas a couple of days later. Enjoyed sitting in the bar and snacking on chips and salsa. BTW the chips and salsa are THE BEST . Pulidos is hitting a home run with excellent and friendly customer service and amazing food. Lunch at Pulido's was a trip down memory lane. Sometimes present day experiences can't live up to nostalgia (This was a favorite place to take dates during high school in the late 70's). But Pulido's has retained the best of the past and received a wonderful new lease. The atmosphere was familiar but updated. The beans, rice, tortillas & salsa tasted like my remembrance. My friend said the tamales were great. The chile rellenos were outstanding. Both beef & cheese. Betty was as attentive and diligent as any server could be. If you've never been to a Pulido's, I think you'll like it. But if you remember the old Pulido's, you'll appreciate how the new owners have treated the legacy and also moved it into the future. read more

Back in the 1980s, my dad and I would go to the Arlington location every Wednesday -- we'd both get the enchilada dinner that was on special. Through the years, after I left home, we'd meet at different locations, trying various dishes. I don't think there was a location we didn't visit. Fast forward and we were so sad when all the restaurants closed. We missed the wonderful comfort food and welcoming feeling. We were thrilled when they reopened this Fort Worth Pulido's! For various reasons, though, we hadn't been able to visit ... until today. I told Dad I was taking him to lunch, but didn't tell him where. As we drove up (from out of town), he was so happy! Pulido's! A great surprise. The food and service were excellent, and the lunch deals are such a great value. I got the cheese enchilada and taco plate, Dad and my husband each got chicken fajitas (it's a generous serving). It was all exactly as we remembered, and wow did I miss their salsa. This is the kind of Mexican home-cooking we love and we will be back! read more

Contrary to prior ratings from customers, we found the service and food to be excellent. We arrived about 5:30 PM and there was no wait with ample seating. The atmosphere was pleasant and family friendly. It is also right across the street from the Springhill Suites. The food was reasonable priced, but the drinks are a little on the high side for their size. If in that area again, we will be going back. I strongly recommend this restaurant. read more

Omg this place is so horrible and they need to fix there tables there all unleveled we notice they painted and updated the outside but inside needs a lot of TLC , service was just as bad I returned my order , I ordered the most easy thing to make flautas plate and even that was trouble the chicken was harder then a rock , just all around bad food and service experience! I can't tell you how refreshing it is to have a restaurant in Fort Worth with great food at AFFORDABLE prices. I got a delicious frozen swirl margarita for under $10 which is practically unheard of these days. The hostess at the front was so warm and welcoming. The gentleman who took care of us in the bar while we waited for our table was so friendly and then our server Jackie didn't miss a beat taking care of our large 10-person party. The whole team that served us was so friendly and on point with the service. Jackie didn't even flinch when we asked for separate checks. And the food was so good. The chips and salsa were delicious and the salsa was pleasantly hot. I ordered the $9 shrimp cocktail to start and even after sharing it with half the table it was so big we still couldn't finish the whole thing. The chicken tortilla soup was so flavorful and topped with a mountain of crispy tortilla strips. And I was so excited to see puffy tacos on the menu! These were a delicious treat filled with deliciously seasoned ground beef. I am so thankful for the Westland Restaurant Group for breathing new life into this historic restaurant and for keeping the prices affordable! Went there for lunch. Had the fajitas. And they hardly had any meat mixed w/ little onion & peppers. Very bland meat. No flavor for 20d. Stingy on the rice & beans too. Hot sauce tasted like tomato sauce. The tea was good though. Best place in town is Los Mocajetes, Beach and western center. read more
