So we made it back to enjoy the Korean BBQ experience Blue House offers once again. My review from last year was pretty detailed, so I will simply provide some updated feedback here... With regard to atmosphere, they have maintained the environment they created when they transformed the old buffet into this more traditional Korean BBQ full service restaurant. When it comes to Bonchon, the kimchi this visit was delicious! We still had to request japchae, but at least this visit we had an idea we might have to do that. With regard to menu items, the Korean fried chicken is still really good, as are the spicy marinated meats, and the various shrimp options. The thin sliced ribeye, is still not my favorite. A note to those folks who have a little gray hair around the edges... Blue House offers a 20% discount to seniors on Tuesdays. Definitely a bonus! read more

Third time dining here but third time was not the charm. We stopped by on a Wednesday night and did not expect it to be quite so busy. Apparently, kids eat free on Wednesdays, which is definitely good to know for families. We checked in using the iPad, which estimated a 10-25 minute wait, but our table was actually ready within just a few minutes. After receiving the text, I let the host know, and we waited briefly before being seated. Unfortunately, the service slowed down considerably from there. After about 10 minutes without seeing a server, we pressed the call button. Another 10 minutes passed, so we tried again. It was roughly 30 minutes before someone finally came over to take our order. The server apologized and explained that we had been seated without being assigned to anyone. We appreciated the explanation, but by the time our first round of meat arrived, we were told the kitchen would be closing soon and that we needed to order everything else we wanted in the next round. The experience would have been better with more communication all around. We did not mind waiting, but it was disappointing to lose so much of our dining time and then feel rushed toward the end. read more

Another great place to eat in Vacaville. I feel spoiled with how many great food options we have. Blue House is absolutely worth checking out. If you're looking for a lively atmosphere or a fun date spot, I highly recommend it. The food is exactly what you'd hope for. Steak, beef, chicken, plenty of vegetables... they've got it all. Ordering from the tablet at your table is a fun touch, and having a robot deliver the food an experience. The bulgogi and thin-sliced pork are must-orders. The bibimbap was delicious, the cheese corn was rich and cheesy, and I really enjoyed the takoyaki. Just be careful, it's basically molten lava on the inside. Come hungry. It's all-you-can-eat KBBQ, but they'll charge you for excessive leftovers, so order what you'll eat, pace yourself, and enjoy the experience. read more

WORST KBBQ EVER. Staff was friendly, but extremely slow and not attentive. We had to follow up on each of our orders due to either receiving the wrong item or never getting the order altogether, causing us to wait constantly. The burner also shut off 3 different times, one time by our waiter but other times randomly which added to more wasted time. Out of the 2 hour time limit, Id estimate less than half that time was actually dedicated to eating. We were waiting & following up for majority of the dinner. The food was below subpar quality. My family couldnt eat the "premium beef" it "angus brisket" because it was so dry/tough. Seafood tofu soup lacked flavor and steamed egg was watery. The list goes on but most of the items were gross. I hardly ate because nothing tasted good. The most consistent item was the sliced garlic. Lastly, they shouldve installed directly fans above each table but they have the fans high in the ceiling, making the air smoky and the place extra loud. Heavily disappointed as I heard good things about this chain. Save your money and go anywhere else. read more

We celebrated an early Mother's Day at this welcoming, Korean BBQ and had a wonderful experience! Upon arrival to the spacious parking lot, we could smell the delicious meats immediately, beckoning us to come inside... We went with the Option A all-you-can-eat, which seemed to have more than enough selections of meat to gorge upon. Our favorite was the thin cut pork belly. The restaurant was expansive with lots of tables and different seating areas. Our servers were also great, changing our grill frequently. I've been to other locations for blue house before and always enjoyed my visits. This Vacaville location is a first visit for me and it's roomier and better airflow I felt. The server was really great sorry I wasn't ordering much my table mates did that and I didn't get her name but she was great. The food we always enjoy the garlic soy beef belly, boneless Galbi, and a bunch of other selections. We usually stick with beef but we do like their banchan selections. Spicy ramen is pretty common ramen but the way they cooked it was solid, some people put way too much water to cook. The potato is great, the pickled daikon is a must and broccoli is a solid choice too. The server gave us a bunch of refilled for these. The only drawback this time for me was the chicken wings. Plain really meant plain, no salt or any flavorings. The wings weren't freshly fried so they were rubbery and room temp. I think fresh with some Cajun seasoning maybe would be a hit . If I'm in Vacaville and craving Korean bbq I'd for sure revisit. read more

We came here for dinner and had a great experience. The restaurant is very spacious, with dedicated areas for karaoke and larger group gatherings. During dinner service, Option A offers an excellent selection of appetizers and meats. Our favorites were the soy garlic beef belly, butter shrimp, and LA galbi--we ended up ordering those every round. The spicy Korean ramen was also tasty. The service was outstanding as well. Everything we ordered arrived promptly, and our server was friendly, attentive, and happy to accommodate additional requests throughout the meal. Had dinner here last night. The restaurant is super spacious with an abundance of seating! Booths and tables everywhere it's actually pretty neat and esthetic looking. It's an ayce Korean bbq. I love that concept lol. There were an array of bonchon they start you with and then you pick the menu you would like to dine. We picked the A menu.. it included a lot of good stuff. Service was awesome. Our waitress was very attentive. She made sure that when our orders came out to come check and place the next order right away and our grill was constantly replaced as it would char up. Everything I ate was delicious. My fav meat was the soy garlic beef belly and I love the butter shrimp .. all dipped in their pineapple sauce they have on the menu as well. Beautiful place! It was our first time here. The outside looks a bit deceiving, but once your inside it's very warm and welcoming by the hostess. We were a party of 7 with a 3:30pm reservation on a Saturday. Surprisingly for a Saturday, it wasn't busy. We were immediately taken to our seats that had 2 burners and as a party, we ordered the A & B option. The table comes set with 4 sides like pickled daikon, kimchi, and I can't remember what the other 2 were. Everything, the kalbi, different cuts of the meats, tiger prawns, were absolutely delicious!! The appetizers: wings, sliders, fries, and so much more were all great and everything came out in a timely manner. Our hostess was awesome which made the experience amazing!! We did it, and completed the trifecta. We got to visit all three of the Blue House locations. Pre-completion of the renovation of the OG location, so this one is easily the most modern and nicest of the three so far. More open feeling setting, and some cool features like the karaoke room for reservation and elevated middle section. Blue House did a good job with the design. I enjoyed the vibes, and the staff really was great. Constantly checking in, making sure we were good or ready for a next round, and more made this experience great. We were the first to walk in as a we are a party of 4. We put our name on the waitlist but we took a seat at the bar while we waited for the rest of our party. We were greeted with a how are you and is there anything I can get you while you wait. Our bartender was friendly attended to us right away......a plus in my book. We declined and just waited for the rest of our party. When they finally arrived, we prolly waited all of 3-5 minutes, which was quite quick to me. Our friends have been here before so they walked us thru it. We order option A with 2 appetizers. I loved they had helper robot waiters to bring some of our meats. We got spicy beef and kolbi beef with the bulgogi sliders, beef dumplings, & spicy Korean wings. Everything was excellent. There was no bad food at all and our server was friendly, attentive, and always checking on us. We ordered Cass beer that can be split into 2, it was that big. My friend ordered an old fashioned which he thought was ok (the only negative in this review). He ordered the Cass beer and enjoyed that more. As we left, our waiter and staff all said goodbye and went home to have the meat sweats and go into a food coma. Just okay. Came here on a kids eat free day. I got the AB combo. Was barely checked on. Asked for the ice cream for my son and I. 20 mins later. Still didn't come. I informed the waitress. Waitress came by making a ton of excuses why it didn't come. Then comes out with only one ice scream. I informed I ordered 2. She then proceeds to say I only told her one then starts making more excuses. She checks her pos system oh it was 2 and doesn't even apologize for being wrong. And just blames the kitchen. I understand things get backed up. But you need check on your tables and take accountability. And apologize when you are wrong. I also ordered a club soda. Which is completely. This is usually my favorite restaurant...so I'm really disappointed. Came here 4th of July Party of 2. There was maybe 3 other tables dining in our section. Our waiter Soren, took our order one time, the first time he greeted us. All the other times we wanted food, we had to catch him walking by us. Oh- and every time we ordered it took him about 15 minutes to bring it. Mind you, the place was EMPTY. I rang the service button about three times for him...he never came. Saw him in the back using his phone plenty though! When another table left, he told them "have a good night"! When he just randomly bought us the bill without asking if we were finished he forgot to add our military discount of course. On the way out, he didn't even look at us. I typically love this restaurant and all the waiters and buskers positive attitude. Really disappointed in Soren. I wish I could've spoke to management. read more

Good Korean barbecue and good drinks! Went here for the first time and was so pleasantly surprised. Been to a couple KBBQ and this was just as good as a lot of places! It is a little more on the pricier side though so keep that in mind. You do get a lot of options for the price but depending on the option you choose it can be pricey With that being said the quality of the meet and food overall was very good! And they have proper steaks which I don't see often at KBBQ. The short rib was well marinated and had a lot of flavor and the appetizers were very good like the fried chicken! The side salad had a great sauce over it and all the kimchi dishes were great! They offer a pretty customizable drink menu, if that's something you're interested in, the slushie options is nice and refreshing for a hot summer day! Along with refreshing flavors! The restaurant itself is pretty big and has a really cool interior! They have a full bar in the entrance and lots of seating further in! They have robots that bring you your drinks and/or whatever you order like meats and such! Saying I love korean bbq is an understatement. So when I found out this is where we were going for my bachelorette party dinner I was ecstatic. I wanted to order so much but I got so full. The food is so good and the place feels intimate for being so open. The pork belly is by bar my absolute favorite, and not pictured is a cherry blossom type of drink that they gave us and oh my goodness if I could remember what it was called, I would order it every time I go. The service was so fast and I love the little robot that brings us our meat. read more

Writing this review for an experience my family and I had on Mother's Day. I believe this was not anyone's fault, but rather a tech glitch. However, I believe the situation was poorly handled. Living an hour away from Blue House, I added myself on the Yelp waitlist for a party of 7. I told my brother to also join the waitlist just in case. When we got to the restaurant, we just waited outside since our "expected time" still says 20 min. However, I noticed that the expected time was not moving. So I went inside to talk to the host and ask about our wait. The host then asked if I have a reservation, and I mentioned joining the waitlist. I even pointed at their iPad where I see my name. He was puzzled because apparently, I am not supposed to be able to make a reservation or join the waitlist today since they are fully booked. He said that unfortunately, they will not be able to accommodate us because they are fully booked. He proceeded by removing my name off the waitlist and telling us to wait 3 hours for our seat. I asked him about the Yelp waitlist on their iPad. "Are you just going to ignore that?" but he didn't bother answering. I understand that this is frustrating on his end too, especially on an extremely busy day, but it just sucks to have driven an hour for our name to be removed from the waitlist without having a proper explanation whatsoever. I went back to the car and my brother, who have joined the waitlist too, was next in line on the "Yelp waitlist". He went inside and the host said the same thing, but before the host was able to proceed in removing my brother's name, my brother asked for the manager. (we never do this - this is probably the first time ever). The host quickly talked to his manager and the manager was able to accommodate us a table right at the moment. After all of that chaos, the rest of our experience was extremely pleasant. Our server was fantastic. Everyone assisting the tables, whether it was the staff bringing the food or the grill changers, were amazing. Food was great of course - never have disappointed from the handful of times my family and I have visited. The host definitely deserves a 1 star, but our actual dining experience was an easy 5 star rating. read more

We came in on a Friday evening around 5:30pm with a party of 7 to celebrate 3 May birthdays. We had a reservation for 5:30, but we still had to wait about 15 minutes for the staff to set up a table as we were considered a large group. For AYCE Korean BBQ, there are 3 choices: A ($38/adult), B ($48/adult) or C ($108/adult). We chose option B which had plenty of choices to eat as it also includes all the option A items. They were having a Cinco de Mayo drink deal where a handful of their alcoholic drinks were 1/2 off today (May 1 to May 5). I got the Mangolicious alcoholic drink which is inspired by the Mexican mangonada. They drinks were not too strong, but they were 1/2 off. They have a 2 hour eating limit, but I don't think they are strict about enforcing that unless you really stay there much longer. There is an automatic 18% gratuity added to your bill for parties 7 or more. Our server was pretty attentive overall. In Vacaville/Fairfield area, Blue House Korean BBQ is one of the better AYCE restaurant, but there are better Korean BBQ restaurants in Sacramento and the East Bay. In the past for birthdays, they would let you spin the birthday wheel, but they didn't offer that to us. The server did offer to give the 3 birthday celebrants a hefty slice of cheesecake each which was nice. If you are a big eater, meat lover and enjoy Korean BBQ, give Blue House a try. read more

Came in for lunch with two of friends. We were seated immediately by the host who was nice and welcoming. The floor plan offered different seating space including private rooms including a few room that offered kareoke :) Price per person was decent. The menu offers an upgrade for a higher price tag. $30 to $100 per person Our server Omar was excellent, attentive despite the many table he was servicing to and pure pleasant at each encounter. Decided to bring the kids to kbbq after we went to skyzone since they were hungry after playing and it was a fun spring break treat. We were seated fairly quickly which I appreciate when eating out with the kids! Some of the service items took a little while to get or didn't come at all. Their brisket was a bit hard to chew/was on the tougher side, but the Hawaiian steak was so good! There's a wide variety of items to choose from and different menus to choose from based on which plan you choose. I wish I was able to eat more but we just got so full! read more

Always love coming to Blue House for AYCE KBBQ! The servers are so friendly, and we keep coming back because they make us feel so welcome. You can choose between AYCE options A, B, or C depending on what you're in the mood for (just note everyone at the table has to pick the same option). We've come for both lunch and dinner, and the wait and service can vary depending on the time you go, but it's always a great experience! When the wait is long, we like to grab a seat at the bar and order a drink or two. The bartenders are always really nice and welcoming--they take the time to talk with you and get to know what you like to drink. We even tried soju bombs, which were really tasty! There's also plenty of seating, and they even have a robot that helps deliver some of your order, which is pretty cool. One small downside is that sometimes people may not know which shelf to grab their meat from and might accidentally take yours--but it's totally fine, and you can always let your server know. There's also a button at your table you can press if you need anything, and a server will check in with you. Blue House has definitely become one of our go to spots to eat when we have a craving for KBBQ! read more

Pretty good Kbbq! Went for my niece's 100 days celebration and they set us up in their private party room. Spacious space with attentive service and an impressive menu. I did option A and got several tasty cuts of meats including brisket, short ribs, chicken with some cheesy corn ramen, veggie bibimbap, egg rolls. A few gaps- the miso soup was overly salty, fried chicken wasn't that good but to be fair, you don't really come for that. Wish they had the vent tubes over each grill like in the Kbbq in Korea! You will def leave smelling like bbq- make sure you wear clothes you plan to wash right away and take a shower after! read more

This is my updated review for Blue House. I've been to Blue House about 3 more times after my last review. They have 3 AYCE dinner options (Option A, B and C). I usually go with option A or B, depending on how I'm feeling. I'm glad to report that they did update the size of the rice paper. It's standard size for most kbbq places now. Last few times my favorite meat has been the Beef Belly in the Garlic Soy Sauce. Mmmm, so good ! I highly recommend trying the Mool Naengmyum which is the cold noodle. I find this to be so refreshing and also offer a good balance when eating all these emats. Keep in mind, the cold noodle is only offered with Option B. I still very much love their Pineapple Sauce, so if you haven't had it, definitely try it out ! I haven't experienced any issues with service since I've been here. They have a cute robot that delivers some of the food. There's also a call button on each table if you do need assistance, but honestly I havent had to use it. read more

The fresh meats were really good, so I have nothing negative to say about the food itself. Unfortunately, the service and overall ambiance were terrible. It took about 30 minutes for someone to get our table's gas working because it kept going out, and during that time our server was nowhere to be found. We were seated in a separate room, and it felt like we were completely forgotten. We had to get the attention of another server, but she ignored us twice and continued helping other tables instead. When I finally asked to speak with a manager, she didn't do anything to address the situation and seemed to brush off our concerns. At that point, my brother and I should have just left. The food may have been good, but the service was so poor that it ruined the entire experience. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you're looking for quality customer service. read more

I also loved the setup of the inside -- it's a really nice space, even though I forgot to grab a photo. Your quality of service is really going to depend on what time of day you go and the server you get- my family and I have been 3 different times and have had a varying level of service from excellent to decent. We've tried just about everything on the A menu and it's really not bad-pretty typical for a KBBQ place. The chicken wings however are bomb! First time at Blue House and it was a hit! Made reservations for a big party of 14 on a Saturday afternoon. Took about 15-20 minutes for them to prepare the tables. Once seated, our order was taken promptly and things got rolling. Food came out fast via servers & the cat robot. Our waitress was patient and attentive the whole time. All of the meats were juicy and high quality. Ordered brisket, ribeye, seasoned steak, bone-in and no bone galbi, soy garlic thin pork belly and bulgogi. Pretty much all meats hit the spot with all being juicy and tender. The ultimate standouts were the galbi and thin pork belly. We ordered a handful of appetizers too. Lychee martini - 4.5/5 - really sweet, in a good and dangerous way. Korean fried chicken - 2/5 - dry and a little cold. The soy garlic sauce saved it. Beef dumplings - 3.5/5 - crispy fried, subtle flavor. Corn cheese - 3/5 - served in a skillet dish, although was not hot enough for a cheese pull. Still good flavor. Steamed egg - 3/5 - generous portion and served warm. Very gelatinous, not like other steamed egg. Flavor was there when mixed with rice and meat. Kimchi soup - 4/5 - served piping hot and was bursting with flavor! Really enjoyed eating this along with rice and meat. Would get again for sure. We asked multiple times for a grill change, but after waiting over 30 minutes and finishing just one round of orders, we gave up and decided to leave. We ended up spending about $100 for a single round of meat and a few appetizers before deciding it wasn't worth waiting any longer. We tried this KBBQ before in Roseville, and we loved it! Now that they have opened a location in Vacaville, we don't have to drive that far. The interior is nice, clean, and well-maintained. Food is excellent, and the meat is seasoned very well. Service is good, slow at times when it's rush hour, other than that, it's still a great service. This is now our go-to KBBQ fix!
