The weather was rainy and chilly and wanted soup for lunch. A former colleague of mine highly recommended this place and since I work fairly close I decided to give it a try. I placed my online order for the veggie pho and it was ready by the time I picked it up. My only complaints: wait time as I clearly saw my order sitting on a chair as the employee was on the phone taking an order (understandably); however, other employees passed by asking if I needed help and when I stated that I was waiting for my order they said "she'll be right with you". Incredibly disappointing I made my order to go when I got there, and I knew that there was gonna be a way because there were a lot of people doing dinner time. However, the staff here actually made sure that the dishes for the dine-in were put in first before that of myself and other people that waiting for pick up and to go. I waited 30 minutes and my food wasn't ready. I was shocked to see that customers that went in there to dine-in after me actually finished their meal and had left, yet my food wasn't ready yet! So when I brought it up to their attention, the staff said that it was because it was busy, but they didn't acknowledge their actual lack of Customer services and fair treatment to all paying customers. Ultimately I asked for a refund. They kept on saying to wait many times and they said one more minute but by that point it was past thirty minutes for a simple vermicelli order. I'm downgrading my review a bit, mostly due to service. I visited last night and ordered a small pho, there were many pieces of fat and gristle in my soup that couldn't even be chewed. I had to constantly spit it out. I also ordered a side of two of the Vietnamese eggrolls, and it usually comes out with a piece of lettuce, carrot and cucumber. A different waiter brought these to my table and literally just threw them on the table and walked away in a extremely rude manner. He had very long hair. They brought the eggrolls out with no lettuce and it took me forever to get anyone's attention to just get a piece of lettuce to eat with the eggroll. I always seem to get the same waiter, and he is not helpful at all. I like to order the pho and a side of something new to try. When I ask about anything in the menu he just says "depends on your taste". Yeah, but can you at least attempt to describe the things you serve? Make a recommendation? I was also there earlier this week and I told the waiter that I would like to order a Boba tea after my soup. When he came back over and I tried to order the tea, he said oh sorry the kitchen is closed. So they knew they were closing the kitchen, but he also knew that I intended to order a tea and did not come over and say anything at all. What a hidden gem! This building used to be a Del Taco and was so sad to see it go. But I finally took a chance and came in to try it. Boy I was pleasantly impressed with the quality, freshness, amount of food served and the price. It was amazing. I had pork chops with vermicelli noodles on Friday. Always the same quality although today I definitely felt the rice was cold, slightly warmed up by the beef lol but it was cool I didn't make a fuss about it. We did go around 4 and it was kind of slow. But other than that the food is always on point I love their beef broth with shrimp. We've also had their ribs before, also bomb! The only thing I would highly recommend is they improve on their customer service. Once they bring your food they never check on you lol till you're finished. Blue Lotus has an extensive menu with over 100 items. The best items I've had here were the soups. The #001 House Special (Phở Dặc Biệt) has a nice broth, tender strips of steak, and vegetables. An XL size is available if you want a larger portion. Other soups are good, but I haven't found myself wanting to reorder them again, preferring to go with the House Special. The #071 French Style Beef Filet Mignon on Rice (Cơm Bò Lúc Lắc) is a colorful item with a nice counterbalance of beef, vegetables, and rice. This is the one item that I've probably ordered the most of all the times I've been here. Many of the other dishes are good, with a good variety to choose from. Not necessarily outstanding, but nice to try out. I haven't had any item that I would definitively say I would never order again, which is a positive observation of the general quality. The #032 Vietnamese Egg Rolls and #033 Spring Rolls with Shrimp & pork are good sides to share. Not outstanding, but pleasant enough. Prices are reasonable, but paying for your meal can be awkward. Sometimes, the wait staff would bring my check to the table and let me pay at the table. But sometimes, no one seemed to be coming back to my table, so I would need to walk up to the cashier, tell them what I ordered, they found my ticket, and I paid there. NOTE: Just a day or so after I last ate here, the restaurant was closed because of a low health score from the county, "C", with 13 various violations. They are planning to reopen Jan 27, 2024. Personally, I didn't see any health-related issues, but then I had no idea what went on in the kitchen or with their food preparation techniques. My personal experience is that after a restaurant has been shut down for health violations that they "get religion" and usually they are much better about food 'hygiene', at least for a while, so here's hoping. read more

The Pho is good. But there are many factors affecting the business. They are under staff so when you have peak times it's hard for the staff to get things on time and also the back of the house must be busy as well. We ordered the house special and egg wonton soup. Again the soup broth was good, the noodles were good and fried squid had too much oil. And here comes some issues, when restaurants don't properly change their flying oil anything you fry comes out with these darks colors. I don't have a picture but will get one soon. So the fried food was too greasy and the oil needed to be changed Because they are short with employees the service is not the best because only two servers for the entire restaurant. Last, they have a problem with their ventilation system because water from the ceilings landed on a patrons soup, that's a bug problem Not coming back for a while until they improve overall service and ambience Thanks for reading read more

It's clear that the owner and the chef must have changed. My family has been coming to this restaurant for over 7 years, at least twice a month. This time, when we ordered the dishes we always get, we noticed that something had subtly changed in every single dish. First, the taste. The food has become very bland and honestly not good anymore. The pho, in particular, tasted like plain water--homemade pho would be much better. My husband always orders the dry mixed noodles (dish #85), which usually come with a long fish cake. This time, it was missing. When we pointed it out, they brought it afterward. The fried noodle dish was also bland and lacked flavor. They gave us far too little sauce, so the noodles weren't properly coated, which made it very difficult to eat. Even though we've been loyal customers for over 7 years, it seems like we'll need to look for a different restaurant now.
