Nova was a pleasant surprise as we had no dinner plans made for our Disneyland vacation. Even before checking into our hotel (the Hyatt Regency conveniently located next to Nova), we saw the huge sign on the side of the building advertising their happy hour. We decided to give it a try on our first night. Everything from the staff friendliness to the ambiance to the taste of the food was exceptional! The specialty drinks were delicious, and the happy hour prices were more than reasonable. Everything was so good that we went back for a second happy hour in a row. The second visit was just as enjoyable, so much that we decided to visit on Sunday to check out their all you can eat brunch. The selections were amazing with a few exceptions. Some standouts were the ube pancakes, matcha French toast, Toro tartare toast, and garlic scallop fried rice. Some items on the menu left more to the imagination such as the spicy tuna crispy rice, which had no distinct flavor, and the fried oysters. Outside of those selections, the brunch options were amazing and worth the cost. Shout out to Ryan and Koda for the hospitality, and the bartenders that served us during happy hour. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone visiting Orange County!

This place is dangerous. I knew that eating here might cause a gout flare up. My wife had picked this place for Mother's Day brunch. I didn't have a choice. They had all the high purine foods possible for a flareup like crab, shrimp and prime rib. All favorites of mine. They had breakfast items like sausage, bacon and waffles. I don't know if they do this weekly, but, they did have a guy distributing the crab legs. Our empty plates were regularly cleared. They have a good brunch. Take the gout pill prior to eating here. You can eat more without fear.

Finally! This restaurant has been on my saved list for years and I finally got to go. As a walk-in on a Friday night I only had to wait 10 or 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant did seem to be shortstaffed, but everyone was working as the best as they could. OK, let's get into the food review part: Yellowtail and jalapeño- 4/5 Tuna tartare -3/5 Miso cod-3/5 Fried chicken bao-4/5 Floating noodles-3/5 Baked scallop roll-4/5 Spicy tuna on crispy rice-3/5 Molten chocolate cake-4/5 Mango mochi-5/5 The food was good, but not great. I really appreciated the fact how fast the food came, but the noodle dish was a little on the cold side and some of the flavors of the dishes just didn't excite me as much as I had hoped for. I also ordered a couple of cocktails that were reasonably priced around $15 each that took a long time to arrive and were not good in my opinion but I kept them because it would take too long for something else to come out. My server Jay did a great job with being attentive. The aesthetics of this restaurant are nice and there is a private dining area, which would be a great to host a special occasion but for me personally I'm not in the biggest rush to come back. If I do come back, it would be for their homemade mango mochi, which was amazing along with their fried chicken bao.

What a horrible place. Besides the ambiance which is great! Everything else is horrible. It took the waiter 20 minutes to get a draft beer. That's was the 1st thing I ordered. Food: ordered a sushi which was horrible and seemed like it was pre-made was put in freezer and defrost and served it to us. The chow mean was dry no flavors at all. It took the waiter forever to get soy and chillies sauce by that time the food was cold. The edamane was cold. The veggie and tofu was k, the tofu was crispy but no flavors very bland. The drinks were okay. Nothing special. Overall I would never come back to this place.

LOVE the presentation of all the food here!!! It was so delicious and the garlic noodles were so good!!! I also love the vibe of this place and would recommend if you're looking for a fun place to chat with friends

I always love this place cuz of the ambiance and the food and drink choices. There's so many photo opps and so much food that I want to try. The drink menu looks beautiful and the choices are so good. Everything we ate was pretty good but I have to be honest on just a couple things. I didn't care for the sisig, had a few burnt pieces and I could taste it. And we ordered a seafood dish but I think the waiter forgot to put it in and I totally forgot about it. We were already done with everything else and didn't want to wait to get the last dish cuz it was getting busy so unfortunately, we didn't get to try that dish. Other than that, the parking situation sucked because they were only allowing overnight guests for the hotel to use the closer parking lot so I had to park all the way at the end and walk about 10min to the restaurant.

Ambiance - 5 Staff- 5 Food - 4.5 We made a reservation cause they allowed dogs and we wanted yummy food. The restaurant is gorgeous. When you walk into the lobby, there are coy fish projected on a wall and silvery things hanging from the ceiling to look like you're underwater. There are two sides to the restaurant. One side is very sleek and has the sushi bar and the other side is more loungy with a regular bar. We sat outside since we had the pup. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a few items and had some drinks. They had a nice sale list as well. Sautéed edamame - yummy and garlicky. Zesty wonton with sauce on the side. I can't do spicy so I just dunked mine in some soy sauce. It was good. Chili oil wonton- my husband really liked these. 30 piece sashimi- nice big pieces of fish. The fish were split into 3 pieces each. Instead of all different types of fish, there were a few they repeated. They were good but usually when we get sashimi platters, we get different types of fish. We would certainly return and try some other items.

Really cool ambiance with plenty of seating for large parties. Friendly hostess and waiters. Food menu is extensive with great gluten free options too! The cocktails were yummy and our favorite dish was the beef short rib (pictured). A few dishes lacked bold, fresh flavors. Otherwise, awesome food. Looking forward to coming back!

Cutely decorated. This place is more for vibes/ aesthetic and less for food. Would recommend reservations. Octopus w/ Japanese Herbs- 5/5: This was the highlight of the dinner. The sauce was citrusy and refreshing. Kung Pao Chicken- 3/5: Tastes like your average westernized kung pao dish. On the sweet side. There was a lot given and came with lots of rice. Double Hamachi Roll- 3/5: The sushi was mid, nothing special. Dan Dan Noodle- 3/5: Doesn't taste like your average Dan Dan noodles because of the Szechuan sauce. There was a bit too much sauce making it too salty and hard to eat. I think it would've been better if there was less sauce.

I originally posted a very critical review of Nova Kitchen & Bar due to several significant issues, specifically regarding the billing and service. However, I'm updating my rating because the management reached out to me directly to make things right. The manager was professional, apologized sincerely for the oversight, and took the time to correct the billing errors. It's nice to see a business being proactive about feedback, and I appreciate them standing behind their service. Based on this recovery, I'd be open to giving them another shot.

I loved: Fresh Wasabi Toro W/ Caviar Chocolate Ganache Cake Scallops W/ Uni Mushroom Toast I really liked: Freshwater Unagi Yellowtail Belly Sweet Shrimp Sunrise In Kyoto Toro Handroll Sashimi Salad Salmon With Fried Shallots And Truffle Oil South Korean Halibut Sealed Salmon W/ Pico De Gallo I liked: Ooo La Lada Green Tea Mochi Bluefin Tuna A great place to start is the Sashimi Salad. It's very refreshing, the fish is clearly high quality, and it sets the tone for the meal perfectly. The chef grinding fresh wasabi tableside is a thoughtful touch that you don't see often and it genuinely elevates the experience. Speaking of which, the Bluefin Tuna pairs beautifully with it. It's not the best I've had, but it's still a solid bite. Freshwater Unagi is better than your average unagi. Flavorful and well seasoned. The Yellowtail Belly is lightly buttery and a very satisfying bite. The Sweet Shrimp has some roe on it, is slightly sweet, and feels a bit more substantial than the other pieces. The Toro With Caviar is a standout. Super smooth texture and incredible flavor. The Toro Handroll is also quite good, though it doesn't quite reach the heights of the toro cut itself. Mushroom Toast delivers amazing umami and I love that it comes as two pieces, making it a more substantial course. An excellent change of pace. Scallops With Uni is super tasty. The flavors of both hit you instantly and everything tastes incredibly fresh. The South Korean Halibut has a clean flavor profile, though it's slightly difficult to chew. The Sealed Salmon W/ Pico De Gallo is a fun and tasty bite. The pico is a creative addition. The Salmon With Fried Shallots And Truffle Oil is good too, though the truffle oil is a slight contrast against the salmon and shallots. Still enjoyable overall. For drinks, the Sunrise In Kyoto is dangerously good. Not overly sweet and you can barely taste the alcohol. Very easy to over-order. The Ooo La Lada is a rum cocktail that runs a little strong but is still tasty. On the dessert side, the Chocolate Ganache Cake is rich and oozy with very heavenly chocolate. The ice cream and chocolate crumble complement it wonderfully, and the fresh fruit adds a bright, bursting finish. The Green Tea Mochi is light and pleasant, though the flavor gets a bit lost after such a robust meal. Our server Calvin was exceptional. He was consistently on top of clearing plates and bowls, kept waters filled, and checked in regularly throughout the meal. He even brought moist towelettes right before I was about to ask for them. That's S+ service. I would only suggest that the chef wipe the serving stone between courses so the pictures turn out better haha. The ambiance is stunning. We asked for a quick tour and learned that each room is themed after a different element. The decor is beautiful and thoughtful throughout, and there's even a hidden karaoke room tucked away. Nova Kitchen & Bar clearly puts as much care into its atmosphere as it does its food.

I dined at NOVA three times in the week I was in the area for work. As a foodie, I can't say enough great things about the service. Shoutout to Jimmy, and the women at both the front desk and behind the bar. They were always accommodating and polite. To add, the restaurant is gorgeous--perfect for a business dinner or a date night. My faves? The garlic noodles, and the mushroom toast. Of all the restaurants I could have went to this week, I only ever returned back to NOVA!

I have come to Ini a couple of times whenever I stop by the Orange County area, and my graduation dinner was no exception. What makes them so unique is their perfect balance between Asian flavors and Italian classics. Everything I have tasted here has been delicious and has exceeded my expectations. Something I appreciate, besides the aesthetic interior, is their unique selection of dishes ranging from innovative pizzas, creamy and original pastas, and bright, flavorful appetizers. Here are a couple of items that I want to shout out: First, the truffle honey bread. I really appreciated the crispiness of the cheese on top and the bounciness of the fluffy bread paired with the sweetness of the honey. It creates a very balanced bite that keeps you wanting more. The raw salmon appetizer was a huge hit with our table. The citrus paired very well with the salmon itself, and even though this is a common appetizer at many fusion restaurants, they really do it right. The beef carpaccio was a great fusion dish and a wonderful nod to the Asian flavors that inspired them. This is a dish I have ordered multiple times, and it always hits the spot. Out of all the pizzas, I enjoyed the mala lamb the most. It actually was not too spicy, with a nice peppery flavor. Sometimes lamb can be a bit overpowering; however, when topped with the mala honey, everything balanced out perfectly. I also want to note that I have never seen this flavor combination anywhere else, and I think it is definitely something you need to try if you are here. The short rib gnocchi was another favorite of mine. The gnocchi was fluffy and cloud-like and paired really well with the umami-rich, savory flavor of the short rib. The meat itself was very tender and pulled apart easily, making every bite delicious. There are other dishes I could mention, but I do want to shout out the scallop risotto. This one definitely surprised me, as I am not usually a big risotto eater. I appreciated the creaminess of the rice mixed with the scallop, and even though it was a cream-based dish, it did not feel heavy at all. The service was very friendly, and everything came out in a timely manner, which I especially appreciated considering we had a big group. Overall, I will always try to find a reason to come back here, as this place really does take the cake for me when it comes to Kei concept restaurants.

I also appreciate how on top of it the servers always are and how they make sure you are well taken care of. Nep is known for their Banh Mi Chao, which is kind of like Bo Ne but with an "everything but the kitchen sink" vibe. I definitely recommend first-time visitors try this dish since it is really what makes them stand out. The tenderness of the beef mixes so well with the sauce, tomatoes, and pâté, while the banh mi acts as the perfect dipping vessel that ties everything together. Besides the Banh Mi Chao, there are so many other dishes that are equally mouthwatering, such as their Crab Toast (with a generous amount of crab and a creamy mouthfeel) and their new steamed egg dish with pork floss (a salty flavor balanced with custardy egg). The finger foods was Asian‑inspired, with flavors like black sesame, curry, and other creative twists that made each bite feel unique. Every piece was thoughtfully made, rich, and decadent without feeling repetitive, and the presentation was beautiful across the board. It definitely felt like a more elevated, modern take on afternoon tea. The tea itself, however, fell a bit short for me. I ordered a non‑caffeinated chrysanthemum tea, which unfortunately didn't have much depth or flavor. My friend's Darjeeling was better, but still not as rich or complex as I've had elsewhere. Given how strong the Asian inspiration is in the food, it would've been nice to see more thoughtful decaf tea options in that same direction, like decaf sencha, barley tea, or kuromamecha, to better match the concept. Price: The afternoon tea service is prix fixe at around $45 per person, which includes a curated set of savory bites, desserts, and a pot of tea. For the quality and creativity of the food, the price feels pretty reasonable compared to other OC tea services, though the tea itself didn't quite meet the same level as the food. Ambiance: The space is bright, warm, and inviting, with a nice amount of natural sunlight coming in that makes it feel cozy rather than stuffy. There are subtle Asian design elements woven into the décor, giving it a modern, slightly upscale feel without being overly formal. It's a great spot to catch up with friends and linger over tea. Service: Service was good, friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Even during a busy service, staff remained kind and approachable, which added to the overall relaxed vibe. Parking: Parking can take a bit of effort. Since it's located on a busy street in Orange, you may need to circle around the roundabout or park a little farther away and walk over. Not impossible, but definitely something to plan for, especially on weekends.
