Most restaurants are afraid to spice it up they were not and I certainly appreciated that . I placed a takeout order which went through smoothly got to the restaurant picked up the order and noticed that the bill was $15.43 more than it should be. They tacked on a tip. I was never advised to that on the online service I did not click on anything regarding a tip. I brought this to the attention of the servers at the restaurant and they said they didn't have any idea who would've done that they did not offer to refund the $15 and I will not return. This restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, but had a steady stream of customers in and out the entire time we were there. They have OUTSTANDING service with a smile. The good was delivered very quickly and piping HOT! The flavors were delicious and we loved our selections... Would totally get them again! Portions are very generous and we loved the Gluten free and vegan options available for our guest. The one thing that kept this from being a 5/5 iis that the chicken was a bit tough and dry in 2 of the 3 dishes and the one dish could have used more broccoli in it. We stumbled across this spot for dinner when using the superchargers right nearby. This was an incredible find! First off, it is super inexpensive for Thai food. Secondly, it is DELICIOUS. The staff were all super friendly and our food came out so quick, especially since we were traveling through the area. They don't serve alcohol, so don't expect this if stopping in for dinner. Our server was a young woman who was friendly and attentive. We ordered the hot pot with everything in it. It easily will feed four people. It was chock full with shaved brisket, muscles, shrimp, Spam, cabbage, glass noodles, carrots, tofu and I'm sure other stuff. You choose which broth you want, and we chose Tom Kha broth. I am obsessed with The Pan Kitchen!! Every time we go, I am blown away with their mini hot pots. The flavors are so good and the ingredients are fresh. We typically get the sukiyaki or the Thai thom with beef or seafood. It is filled with all sorts of goodies. There is a lot of food for the price. The the food they serve is also fantastic. I always go for the hot pot but my husband gets the Thai often and we really like it. The service is great. Typically, it's a bunch of high school kids but they do a stellar job!! During my brief stint in Amgen, I must have tried every restaurant in the vicinity of Newbury Park. The Pan Kitchen was my favorite! The mini-pot is a steal - plenty of cabbage, proteins (fish cakes + lamb) , and noodles in the default lamb mini-pot. The mala flavor was very deep and pretty spicy at only two chili peppers on the menu. The dish can comfortably serve two people! I've also tried their pad thai, thai tea, and cheese crab rangoons and all were very good in their own ways. Wow! I placed an order through Doordash and selected "hot" for the spice level. I called after to make sure my green curry was extra extra extra hot. This place never fails to fulfill that request. I think a lot of places are hesitant because they worry people will complain and say it was too spicy. They are not afraid to make it HOT. In fact, I think they enjoy the request! It was a struggle to eat it tonight and my entire mouth is on fire, but it was more delicious than ever. The dish was excellent but pushing a bit too spicy. My sisters ordered mini hot pots. One ordered sukiyaki base, one tomato base, one curry base and one tom yum base. Let me tell you now "mini" hot pots is enough for two or three people! All my sisters loved the broth and the toppings *except* they said the beef was "gamey/chewy". Each mini pot is customizable and they'll accommodate any allergies. Each one comes with a white rice and a small sauce dish of a sesame sauce which I didn't like. It was weird in flavor. My serving of Pad See Ew was enough for two as well. The best thing we had was the coconut ice cream and freshly fried banana rolls. I wanted to subtract a star because the bench for our table was dirty and the beef wasn't good. But as soon as I saw the sign for 10% off certain dishes on vegan Tuesdays, I decided this is my new favorite Thai place. I'll be by again to try new things. Dinner for two was $72. read more

Once seated you can go through the menu and order via a web portal or with your waiter. I wanted a small lunch and decided to try the tornado potato and Tom kha soup. The tom kha was good and what I'd expect flavor wise. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and the broth itself had a nice sweetness from the coconut milk and the sour/acidity taste I enjoy from a solid tom kha. Really no notes here. The tornado potato is fairly popular in street foods. This one comes with a little bit of sauce but felt it could do with some seasoning to zass it up even if it were just salty. The potatoes was cooked well but tasted a bit plain. My partner got a mini hot pot with Angus beef and the kimchi soup, The soup itself flavor wise reminded of kimchi tofu soup and it a mini pot comes with a generous amount of broth meat and veggies. It easily could be shared between two people. I like that there are many options to customize your hot pot the way you like it and probably would be a hit for most groups. I'd definitely be interested in trying their Thai entrees and giving that a go next time I stop by. What hooked me into this place is their mini hotpot. Upon arrival I was very impressed by the interior. This is so far the place with the cutest decoration I have seen. Business format is somewhat like a quick service. Ordering was mainly done through QR code scanning. I did not know at first and was wondering why has not a server come and get my order yet . I like how they set up the hotpot. The base was big enough to protect you from the heat of fire. The hotpot looked small but it was actually enough food for you. I ordered Thai Tom Yum flavor. After the main dish, I ordered dessert, which was fried banana cake with Coconut ice cream. Taste-wise, it was delicious. I like how they drizzled chocolate on top. Unfortunately the fridge broke so I was offered that dessert for free. Servers were mostly teenagers. At some points, they were loud and overwhelmed the customers. So glad we finally get the chance to try the Pan Kitchen in person. Since the weather is getting a bit chilly, we ordered the mini hot pot with beef in the sichuan spicy soup base and green curry (spicy). We were the only people dinning in at the time but they do get quite a few take out/to go orders especially for boba drinks. Our food came quickly and everything tasted great! Green curry is not too spicy just has a kick in the taste and the bamboo shoot and green beans are very crunchy and really bring out the flavor. The hot pot is yummy as well and they are very generous with the meat even with this mini size. It has a good mix of mushroom, fish cake, eggs, veggie and glass noodle. The flavor is very authentic and definitely on the spicy side. If you don't like it too spicy I would recommend ordering other soup base. We ended up packing the leftover hotpot and rice home and it will make a good lunch for tomorrow. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and our server is super helpful and friendly. The place looks nice and clean and there was two young waiter/tress at the front of house -- nice and polite. But you can tell they are pretty green. They forget things left and right many times -- but I don't really mind because they were still nice and apologetic about it when we asked again. However probably that's the only good things I can talk about this place. Their food is mid at best. If you are looking for anything close to thai, this unfortunately isn't the right place. The "mini pot" is not a thai food. That is actually taiwanese. Nonetheless, ignoring the mix of culture here, the flavor is still kind of not right. Ordered their oolong milk tea boba, it definitely tasted more like watered down jasmine tea. Had the chicken satay as appetizer, and it is bland and dry. The peanut sauce is not the right consistency. There's no crushed peanuts in the peanut sauce. They just mixed peanut butter and coconut etc only. Someone from our table had pad thai. unfortunately it didn't taste right either. Pad thai should taste sweet and savory and topped off with crushed peanuts on top with some bean sprouts. Instead, it tasted sweet-soury and stir fried their noodles with celery. TLDR: if you have had any decent but authentic thai food, you won't get it here. read more
