I came to Blue Medi Spa to get a facial. I've actually walked past this spa numerous times and ive never gone in. There are friendly people at the front desk that greet you. AND ITS SO SPACIOUS! Very clean and smells good. Very spacious and welcoming, Waiting area has comfy black couches with information on the tables. There are cute pillows that add to the decor to make it feel cozy. There are products in the oval shaped spaces in the walls. After entering and sitting on the couches you're asked to fill out the standard spa paperwork. I was greeted by Laura who was the nicest esthetician I have met in a while. She asked about my diet, habits, and allergies. I asked her a lot of questions and she was knowledgeable and very friendly. She shared with me that a lot of people don't realize diet has a lot to do with your face as well. And gave me some pointers - don't use detergent with fragerence on your towels and pillow cases, be mindful of what I eat, be sure to exercise and limit stress. Each time she put a product on my face she let me know which product it was and what the benefit was. I have an oily dry combination on my face and I collect a lot of dirt and dead skin on my chin, lower jaw and nose. I got an extraction (which works best with inhales and exhales), it can be a little painful but is necessary. Laura recommended a facial exfoliating scrub and an spf that they sell at the spa. I wasn't able to buy them today but the woman at the front desk was nice enough to give me a sample of them so I can try them out first to see how I like them. (Pictured) There is parking available behind the spa that they validate for up to two hours. If by chance that lot is full there is street parking available as well. PRISCILLA is a skin goddess! I see her every 8 weeks for dermaplaning. It's AMAZING! I have very sensitive skin and she has the lightest touch. I also love that uses natural skin care products. I got a chemical peel last week, and overall I had an okay experience. I was apprehensive because I was unsure if I would be done peeling by the time I had an event but the esthetician (she might have been a nurse actually, can't remember) helped elevate any anxiety. The peel itself was fine, and the peeling afterwards was uncomfortable but not painful. My issues lie with the fact that I was up charged for a kit I didn't know was not included. The peel itself was $295, and it includes a kit. I had no idea that the kit she then told me I was going to use after the fact would be an additional $100, so when I got to the front to pay I was confused when it was an additional $100 more. I didn't know what to even say in the moment, and I should have said something. They make it sound like it was included or mandatory but if that's true why sneak in an up charge? Aftercare was also confusing, since I now have two kits I need to use, with differing aftercare instructions. Generally I would do the peel again but I'm on the fence about going back to blue medi because I feel so annoyed about being up charged. Edit: the business commented that the $99 aftercare kit is optional, however it wasn't clear in the appointment that it was, she did not tell me a price, or tell me it was optional or suggested. If your employees don't make it clear that it is optional, how would I know that it was an optional fee? read more

I had the vitalize chemical peel this morning and I am so disappointed. Firstly, the lady who did the peel on my face was not knowledge at all. I was asking her the difference on the peels etc and she had no idea. Also, the price for the vitalize is 175$; when I go to the front desk for paying, she told me it was 295$ just because she wanted to sell me at all cost the after care treatment. So I just went in for my apocalypse appointment, my regular girl wasn't in but I got the chance to work with HOPE, and can I tell you boy does she give it! Never worked with somebody so precise. She was calm and patient and I am neither. I tend to be picky, likely the most annoying customer ever, but It's so important to me to have a natural look. I don't care to look like a cat lady, don't want to have an entire vile in my lip, I just want to fill out the volume that I've lost throughout the years. My face has never looked better I did Botox around my eyes and my forehead and I also did filler in my jaw line, lips, nasal folds and under eyes. With a relatively small amount of product I was able to look like a brand new woman. I don't look like anything was done to me except for enjoying very restful weekend in. Wow definitely recommend Hope, As your technician. I've been a return customer at BLUE SPA for years and I have not always been happy but I gotta give it to them. I complained about the parking validation Ink they were using it had messed up my brand new wallet and a jacket of mine, and by the time I returned they switched to S'wich to stickers. My favorite part is they keep improving they offer new treatments regularly and it's always clean and inviting. They listen to their customers and they genuinely made improvements. Front desk older lady Carla is extremely rude and unprofessional. When being rung up she rang me up wrong twice and when I caught it she played dumb in me catching her overcharging me twice. I was never told prices and when I asked her it would be nice to know prices before hand. She replied u can look online ... so rude. When I was in the back I did ask them and they said the prices are given up in the front. It's a cat & mouse game - literally....!!! I will not return. Overpriced /. Bad front service and they are not friendly in the front. Managerment needs to do better. & check your receipt so you don't get scammed here . The manager " Ann" or Annie did nothing to help the situation completely heartless and said she's prepared to loose me as a customer over the phone again it shows the level of maturity and unqualified people running this establishment.. shame ! read more

Made an appointment, was clear that I wanted a consultation, there was no mention of a consultation charge. I had the appointment today, as I was leaving the lady casually said " you have a consultation charge today" I told the lady at the front desk that I had not been told about it, she apologized, said I could use it when I returned to have the work done, I felt ambushed, I should have been given the opportunity to decide if I wanted to pay the fee. The injector had a great hand with the needle. But, she was rude. I explained I just moved to studio city and my doctor was an hour away. When I went to the doctor my 3 acne pimples weren't as large and didn't require cortisone. She kept telling me I needed antibiotics but she was aggressive. I kept trying to explain to her that my doc put me on them but i was only 2 days in. She wouldn't listen to me at all, she wouldn't listen that I was on acne meds etc and then she finally injected me. I appreciate that she was concerned that I was in the middle of a breakout but don't be rude. Then I went to the front to pay and I realized they do tattoo removal - and excitedly I asked the girl up front if they could look at my tattoo for a quick consult bc I'd love to book and come back. She said no they only consult Monday - thurs (which I can't do since I work) and even tho I was standing right there she couldn't fit me in for a quick consult even tho I was happy to wait. I'm so disappointed in the attitude of the people that work here. Very transactional and also super rude. You're injecting someone's body - be kind and listen to them. Really HEAR them and then proceed. Someone wants to be consulted for a service that will make you $2500? Do it. I will not be back. read more

UPDATED REVIEW: 5 stars I returned for The Perfect Derma peel and had a wonderful experience. Everything my first experience should have been. The room was brightly lit and Priscilla has her act together, knows her stuff, and is very personable. I would certainly recommend her! Application of the peel solution was not painful and she used a fan between each layer that wasn't really necessary but was nice just the same. I was sent home with excellent, written aftercare instructions which she discussed with me verbally as well. I knew what to expect and the peeling process has been happening along the timeframe I was told to expect. As for The Perfect Derma peel itself, so far my results are just ok. I've previously had 2 of the VI Peel, 3 of the ZO 3-step peel, and 2 of the Cosmelan peel. I would equate The Perfect Derma peel very much to the VI peel. Great for refining texture and helping superficial hyperpigmentation and honestly that's about it. I have very stubborn melasma and to be truthful the best results I've seen have been with the Cosmelan peels however Blue Medi Spa does not offer those. So my first experience was 2 star, my second experience was 5 star. Overall that's 3.5 so I rated 4. Hope this helps. ORIGINAL REVIEW: 2 stars Made an appointment for a hydra facial and dermaplaing. While the treatment room was dimly lit... too bright for a zen massage but too dim for a facial... I figured it would be fine since they use the bright-10,000 watt- magnifying light for the important stuff. I arrived with only tinted mineral sunscreen on my face and made a point to tell her that butshe started off straight with physical exfoliation. Surprised she didn't remove the mineral SPF50 first. Ok. After that, in about 6-7 places she very briefly touched my face with what felt like a wet, gentle dermabrasion pen. When I say briefly think "tapped with a fairy's magic wand" briefly. She then massaged the liquid into my face then repeated the wet fairy magic wand touches, again about 6-7 seemingly random taps and massaged in the liquid. No gliding of the device over my skin. No sweeping motions. Nope just tap, tap, tap. Was that supposed to vacuum-clean my pores? How? Tap tap tap? Ok whatever. Then she put eye protection on me, applied some liquid and then turned on the absolute brightest red LED light I've ever been attacked by. Now I'm no stranger to red LED light therapy but this was a gazillion times brighter and gave me a raging headache after about 2-3 minutes. She ended it early, applied some tacky-feeling stuff on my face, and told me I was all done. W-T-F??? For $274?? AYFKM??? I should add a few things - After she had me lie down in the treatment table, she left the room for a few moments. When she returned she said the blades were on back order so no dermaplaning was going to happen. How did they make an appt for a service they can't provide?? Good thing I hadn't come in JUST for that. She told me I was "better off without it because it just makes your hair grow back faster and heavier plus you're not hairy so it would be a waste of money". - I told her I was interested in booking a chemical peel for later in the week. She told me about the picosure laser, said it was a much more effective treatment with no downtime and could be done immediately after the facial ($750 vs $250 for the chemical peel). I gave it some thought and decided to go for it since it sounded better. While I was under the red-LED light laser from hell she left the room and came back telling me I'd have to come back next week for the laser treatment. Ok whatever. Overall it was a disappointment and I can't imagine returning there and paying for this service again. My face looks absolutely no different and my pores are unchanged. They did validate parking though. read more
