We stopped at this coffee shop after a trip to the Vons next door & I wished I didn't. The coffee had 3 pieces of ice in it, it tasted so watered down & the gentleman who made it, poured cold coffee from the fridge into our drinks after pressing on their espresso? Machine. omggggg the funky monkey is the greatest latte on earth and i've traveled quite a bit Mark is very considerate and told me after giving my iced coffee if I needed more ice to let him know and Safari gives good deals for people who become regulars. It also warmed my heart when they had a whole table of cookies for people as a thank you for choosing Safari Coffee as opposed to Starbucks and i smiled to myself like hell ya starbucks sucks lol anywhozzle thank you Safari for a lovely afternoon! read more

Visited for the first time on Saturday morning and it was wonderful. Such a fun shop! The decor is so fun and on theme. The coffee tastes delicious and high quality. I am new to the coffee drinking world. Yes, I'm 40....ish. I have been here twice. First time (last week I think) I ordered a cold brew. I loved it. Strong. I really like coffee that "puts hair on your chest"... Today I went in...feeling like I didn't know anything...and I asked for a mocha, cold, blended drinking with an extra shot of espresso. The batista was awesome. The drink he came up with was awesome. He was the same gentleman who served me last time BTW. I wish I knew his name. I have tried a few places around Escondido and this is, by far, my favorite. They also sell bags of coffee beans and cookies! I saw some pretty comfy looking tees for sale as well. I'm sorry I don't have pictures, but I sucked it down before I got home. This is not Starbucks....this is real coffee. My new spot! read more

Immediately upon entering my friend group and I were met with beautiful decor, absolutely stunning and homey. The menu posted outside on the window and on the counter was absolutely helpful and easy to manage! Very nice and comfortable seating. Absolutely delicious cold coffee and i'm sure hot as well (I've only had the iced) Cashier/server gave exceptional service. such a sweet man and very helpful, he had mentioned there would be a wait but everything came out very quickly! Tried one of their daily coffee flavors, it wasn't bad but can find somewhere better nearby. I personally would not come back here, the customer service was alright, not friendly but also not rude. Not suitable for studying/ working. They have a lot of other coffee related items available for sale around the shop which was interesting to see if someone was looking for a coffee related gift for themselves or for others. read more

The employees are very nice, but the owner is really do need to update a few things If you get an iced latte their espresso is not fresh. They keep it in the fridge, which I don't know how long it's been in the fridge for. Been going to Safari for a couple of years now and I have to say I absolutely LOVE IT! On any given day you can go into the cafe and experience the actual roasting of the beans! The owner is diligent about getting fresh product on the shelfs that sits no longer that a week, so you know you are getting premium quality coffee and they offer buying discounts to help your budget. Order the Monkey blended....banana, chocolate and peanut butter. Its like a Reeses Wish they had more seating and were open earlier because its hard to make it to work if I stop in the morning but It's such a friendly, cute and clean store overall. and I have never been put off by the "owner"...some of these negative reviews I see here just don't add up? read more

I first saw this coffee place a couple years ago and because I love coffee and trying new coffee houses, I of course decided to stop by. The coffee is no doubt delicious, but it seems like everytime I come in, the prices are higher and higher. I order the small, 16oz blended drinks (frappacinos) and at first I think they were $4.50 but now they are $5.25! This is by far the most expensive SMALL SIZE frappacino I have seen out of all the coffee places I've visited. Most large blended coffees are $5...I give them 3 stars because their coffee is very rich and great tasting, it's their prices that are too expensive. read more

SUPERB drip coffees roasted fresh in the back and the friendly staff know how make the drinks tasty with little waiting. Baked goods are better on some days than others and seating is limited but comfortable. As a BONUS....., like most progressive cafes their outdoor seating is SMOKE FREE so you can enjoy the fresh air outside or the aroma of roasted beans on the inside depending on your mood. I WOULD RECOMMEND they consider adding staff since they are closed on Sundays which is the best day of the week to relax in a cafe. :( read more

They were very quick with making my order and there coffee tasted amazing. Also the shop itself was really cool there was stuff everywhere and bags of coffee beans which was different but cool. And the person that served me was very kind, overall I really like this coffee shop and will definitely be going back! read more

I love this place . I come here every day on my way to work and It is amazing! There is never a wait. The way they have this place set up is amazing. Beautiful murals on the walls and they roast all their own beans. It has the feel of going to cheers everyone knows your name. read more

I think im ditching starbucks for this new coffee spot! A little more expensive but the coffee is great and im all up for supporting local instead! Which was a reason for finding a new coffee spot! Customer service is also amazing! Always so nice and friendly! read more

I tried Steph's Special (Americano + Vanilla Bean Powder) both ways hot and iced. The iced version with whipped cream is 10/10. The decor is so cute, with plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. I love that they support the community with local artwork for sale and a Little Free Library (take a book share a book) in the corner. I also saw they have a fruit series.
