First time trying this place out. Walked into the restaurant side and sat at an open high top. The place was packed (at 2:15 on a Wednesday!) Very loud - however, once the loud table next to me left, it was much better. Ordered a mimosa with coconut/lime. Way too tart (my bad). Ordered the lamb schawarma. I've never had schawarma. I'm a fan! It was absolutely amazing (I thought I would take half home, but finished all of it). Couldn't finish the mimosa. The shawarma came with a little side of roasted chickpeas that were also really good. You seat yourself and no one saw me, so I went to the bar and ordered. Once they knew I was there, service was amazing. After finishing, I sat at the bar and had an espresso martini (made perfectly) and enjoyed my chickpeas. So cute! Tucked away in a discreet plaza, came on a Sunday around noon, plenty of available tables but still good number of people enjoying their morning. I tried the seasonal drink (the last one on the list, can't remember the name) the way it comes and it was yummy. They were out of most of the bagels, and they said they couldn't put the sausage egg sandwich on a bagel anyway (i think it comes premade), so i just tried the sandwich which was like a little English muffin, it was decent, gooey enough. Cute little café in Applewood, it gets pretty busy. There's seating but it's louder than most small cafés. They do have a cute little front patio with a nice view of the mountains peaking through. I got their drip with cream, it was a light roast this wasn't my favorite and will try a cappuccino next time. I also got the breakfast burrito, it was good but the pastries looked much better! I like Blue Nest Coffee. We've been a few times already, and it's a cozy little spot to catch up with friends or get some work done. On our most recent Sunday visit, the line was out the door! They had some delicious-looking gluten-free options, including a tea cake and almond bread, but unfortunately, they were sitting out with the other bakery items, so not safe for anyone who truly needs to avoid gluten (I hope they address this!). We ended up ordering some of the pre-wrapped gluten-free breads instead, including a banana walnut bread. Friendly baristas, fast service once ordered, and all our drinks were pretty good. read more

Stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon before a therapy appointment and wish I could have stayed longer! Really nice vibe - cozy elements, unique quirky art, and plenty of spots where one can get work done. Decent amount of seating outdoors, too. Since I came in the afternoon they didn't have a ton of pastries left, but all looked yummy and came from a local bakery. I went for a jalapeno cheddar bagel with cream cheese; the texture on both were spot on, but the flavor was more akin to a plain bagel, which was a bummer. For my caffeinated bevvie, I went with a seasonal special, "Cheyenne Mocha" because I'm a sucker for huckleberry. It came out quickly in a cute cup with some dried flowers and plenty of ice -- winner for sure. Staff was friendly as well. Picking up lunch in this shopping center after an appt and happened to see this cute coffee shop. Inside is cute, very chill and seemed like a perfect place to study or work if it was closer to home. Staff were polite but I wouldn't say overtly friendly, more indifferent I would say, but honestly, the coffee totally made up for that. I ordered a vanilla latte, usually I request half the syrup but forgot this time. They made it perfect though, strong, flavorful, and just a hint of sweetness. I'll definitely be back. read more

I tried blue nest coffee this morning for a coffee treat and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered a latte with housemade brown sugar syrup and it was freaking delicious! They offer non-dairy milk for $1 extra. They have a seasonal coffee menu, but the winter drinks were all holiday drinks and since it's February I'm not in the mood for peppermint anymore. They were also out of some syrups. Their instagram updates regularly with the seasonal selections and I am definitely waaaay more into some of the other seasonal offerings. If I am out this way again, I'd definitely stop by another time for a treat. The interior is small and was very crowded and loud when I arrived at 10 on a Monday, FYI. This place is kid friendly and there were a few families here. If it were warmer, I would've stayed and enjoyed my drink on the patio. In addition to coffee, they have tea and hot coca. Stopped by here on the way home after doing some shopping in Lakewood. The parking lot was very crowded but I managed to find a spot. Upon arrival I was greeted by the chaser who was very welcoming and kind when I told him it what my first time in. It has a cute ambiance and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I chose to go with the MacIntyre or Macintosh Nightcap drink off what I assume is their seasonal menu. It was a great blend of whole milk, espresso, and their house made brown butter syrup. It was served piping hot and it was absolutely delicious. I also opted for a Bonfire breakfast burrito which they sell there. Being so close to Golden the burritos was super fresh and full of flavor. The place is cute but the service was not great. The 2 employees present seemed to not want to be there and coming to order was an inconvenience. Also one of the thing that we ordered and paid for were actually not available, and the bagel they said couldn't be toasted, which would be fine if it were just a fresh bagel, but it was cold to almost frozen. The bathroom sink was clogged and full of water. It has potential, the ambiance is great, but they need someone there that cares about the place and its reputation for it to be a good coffee shop. read more

Just received the most bizarre tasting latte ever. I ordered peppermint, but all I can taste is burnt prunes! I let two other friends try it, to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Stopped in for coffee and breakfast on way from Evergreen to DIA. The Aztec mocha was excellent, just enough spice and not too sugary. I ordered the sausage breakfast sandwich and put some hot sauce on it. Very good but would ask if they offered another cheese option as I don't love cheddar.
