Receptionist was very rude! Almost didn't let my sister and I leave without tipping even tho we spent almost $200 on massages. The massages were absolutely fantastic but after the much needed relaxation we were hounded for a tip before leaving. As we told the receptionist we couldn't afford to send more money through Zelle because we didn't plan on spending that much to begin with, she proceeded to roll her eyes and talk negatively about us to the ladies that gave us our massages. Ok, this has to be the best massage I ever had... I called in advance to schedule an appointment and asked to have two lady massage therapist. Before arrival, they called us to confirm appointment. We did the hot stone massage and deep tissue massage. For the two of us, we paid around $160 for an hour. When we arrived the front desk lady recommended a lady and a man therapist. At first, we were ehh about it because we wanted both ladies. She said to trust her, it was the best decision ever. Those massage therapist really got in there on us. We felt so good. I highly recommend coming here, we wanted another massage but it's not recommended to do more than 1 Lol. I wish we lived closer so we can go back to them. We work in construction and we're dying for help with our very sore muscles and we were so excited when we found this place a couple weeks ago. This is the BEST massage we've ever gotten - better than Burke Williams and the Now! Yes, we're massage snobs. Blue ocean is super clean, friendly, and they have professional masseuses- they know how to massage!! They zone in on your problem areas without you ever having to point them out and the pressure is amazing (we do deep tissue). We're writing this now after our second experience here, which I think is important to note so people looking will know we didn't just "get lucky." I am in town visiting for several days in Pioneertown and wanted a chill few days and nights leading up to Patti Smith and Company playing Tuesday night at Pappy and Harriets. Figured a massage was a good thought for a relaxing visit and found Blue Ocean online. It had great reviews and many of them so called and connected with Tina. Tina was able to get me in same day and did an amazing job for a deep tissue massage. I will warn you out there, deep tissue as performed by Tina is not for the faint of heart as she is stellar. She worked on my neck, shoulders, arms and back for a solid hour and clearly knew her craft. I left Blue Ocean feeling 1000 times better than when I went in and will be going to Blue Ocean on future visits out to Pioneertown. Thanks Tina, you rock. Very friendly staff. Easy to schedule an appointment, but wasn't even asked what kind of massage or time length we wanted. She didn't ask my name either. She just took my number from caller ID. Rooms are SEMI private. The walls are open at the top with curtains covering the entrance to each room. If you want a relaxing massage, this is NOT the place to go. There's not an intake procedure, no paperwork, no time to actually go over what we wanted out of the massage. We went for a couples massage. A lady put us into a room, said to keep our masks on and walked out. There was a thin sheet folded up on the table that we assumed was to be used to cover our body. I just prayed that they weren't using coconut oil since I'm allergic. My massage was fairly aggressive, short abrupt strokes. For me, it was pretty deep tissue. I have some bruising on my back. My husband said his massage was very deep tissue, abrupt and aggressive. His massage therapist stepped out of the massage 9 times to answer the phone and greet guests as they came into the business. Our tight muscles after flying cross country were relieved, but we didn't get the RELAXATION massage that we were expecting. read more

Do not recommend this place! Massage is good, but service is terrible. I went to receive relaxation but all I've got is lots of negative emotions. Too pricey for the area, especially when treated like meat or money pocket. Extremely rude person behind the counter: commanding you and pushing into time and money! They were also demanding tips from me and when the amount was not what they wanted both masseuse and receptionist didn't even say good bye or thank you. This place was just better than nothing I guess. I get massaged every time I travel so I have been to some amazing places and this was just ok. We were so rushed into the room and my neck was never touched. I was massaged by two therapists at once because she said it would equal the 45 minutes instead of the hour I paid for. It was so fast and honestly couldn't focus on relaxing because one therapist was going so hard and the other was soooo soft. There was no good customer service at all. No love in their massaging. My masseuse did a great job trying to personalize the massage for my needs and body. If it's not your first massage and you can handle language and cultural barriers, you'll be alright. I would have given four stars because of the massage but only gave three because the manager is difficult. I've been to China and I understand how tipping is supposed to work there and here... Give it a try but prepared to be shamed if you do not bring cash for the massage (paid beforehand) or tip your masseuse in cash in front of the manager afterwards. There is an ATM. I would only get a massage from Linda or Leo (based on a previous review) if I go back. Please respond to this comment if you go there and feel my remarks are off-base. I do not recommend going here if you have fragile body issues that are specific as I had a very difficult time communicating an area of my body to avoid, language wise, though I patiently tried to both the manager and the masseuse. That was the WORST massage I have ever have, and could imagine having, and not to mention the service was horrendous. I scheduled ahead for two massages for my husband and I since we were in town for our anniversary. When we got there, the woman at the front was very pushy in pushing for add -ons, but seemed pleasant and nice, so we went for it. I knew we would be paying for what we got, but gave this place the benefit of the doubt given the reviews and wanted to support a local business. We are brought into our room, change, and then one "masseuse" and the front-desk girl came in. She began on my husband, so we were a bit surprised, because she seemed out of place. Sure enough, she SHOULD not be massaging anyone. I can admit this place may not have licensed and "trained" masseuses but I would expect some sort of competency. She was answering calls the entire time during our massages which was ridiculous. When the front desk would ring when someone would walk in, she would leave the room to talk to them. My "masseuse" on the other hand was OK. You could tell she had some sort of experience, but she basically just rubbed oil onto me the whole time. We paid for a deep tissue upgrade, and I definitely didn't get it. Her strokes were all over the place. The entire experience was anything but relaxing, and frankly, I don't think qualified to be called a massage. We were relieved once it was over and headed out, only for the front-desk lady to run after us and ask for tips. I told her we already paid $140 (2 hour long massages as $60 with a $10 upgrade on each for "deep tissue") and that we were not really happy with the service. She started to say "give me your card, you need to tip". I said no, we already paid (you pay before you start your massages), and that we weren't satisfied and don't feel like tipping. She then starts calling for her "manager", so we walked out. I didn't need to stay and have someone tell me why I was "required" to pay tip, which is ridiculous. The one star I give is for cleanliness. All these people would need to do is not be so pushy, provide quality massages, focus on their clients during the time scheduled, and up their level of customer service and this place would be great. read more
