Euro hot chocolate

Great views from this cafe. Their Euro hot chocolate was alright. Their croissants are really good. Service is quick inspite of them being so busy

Situated at the most northern location of Granville Island public market main building , Blue Parrot is a must see destination for tourists and locals alike. Have visited this coffee, sandwich and baked goods spot too many times to count. IMO second only to muffin granny for consistency and good service. That said, today is my review. We had our regularAmericano with a scone and muffin. Probably one of the top 3 best ever muffins, scone was good when lathered in butter, otherwise a little dull flavour wise. Coffee was excellent, service excellent and the biggest surprise was we actually found a table to sit at despite being a holiday weekend. You can't beat the location on a sunny day, absolute perfection. A locals tip, there is extra seating on top of the bar area.

Just had some organic apple ciders, one with caramel added and one with ginger. Very good drinks, made with care so it takes a bit to make them. Nice seating area with a view. Great location to chill, especially before lunchtime.

Cute coffee shop with ample seating and lovely views! Plenty of food and drink options. We only enjoyed beverages, drip coffee, cappuccino, and London Fog, but the food all looked fantastic.

Blue Parrot Espresso Bar is located in Granville Island Public Market. Just by the name of this joint, you'd think it might be a fancy/trendy little joint. It does have some interesting decorations, but ultimately the products they serve are about average and there is nothing really personal or unique about the experience. I literally just got a Americano and was on my way. There was no need to stick around to enjoy the atmosphere--you might as well just hang outside to enjoy the harbor.

Small toffee nut latte

Not a bad deal, it was crowded and busy and some of the other customers were rather rude when they are looking for seating. You order at the counter and walk to the opposite side to pick it up. The store has its own seating separate from the farmers market seating which is nice. And for $25 we got 2 breakfasts and 2 drinks. Boyfriend had the bagel and lox which was fresh and tasty. And a bottle of their spring water I had their bagel with egg cheese and tomato. It was filling and good enough but missing a little something in the flavor side of things. But I also got a small Toffee Nut Latte and it was awesome, I wish I'd gotten a larger one, even boyfriend liked it and he hates coffee. It had this tasty flavored whip on top with a sprinkle of nuts. Sooo good!

12oz medium coffee with tax = 2.10$ = awesome Great for a sunny, windy, warm day on Granville island. At first I didn't even know it was a organic coffee shop until I got my coffee and saw the coffee sleeve. I honestly can't say there's any difference between organic vs non-organic, taste wise. For me, as long as the coffee isn't sour, burnt, or watery then it's a gooooooood cup!

Really enjoyed my caramel macchiato...faster, friendlier service than Starbucks. My husband loved his mocha as well.

Christmas Season Special Item - Christmas Tree Croissant and Kuegelhoph…read more Christmas tree croissant with red stripes filled with hazelnut pastry cream and bright passionfruit jam. Dough was very buttery and crispy. I could taste strong butter flavor which stood out. Passionfruit jam dominated over hazelnut cream. It lean on sweeter side. I prefer more hazelnut cream. However, the croissant itself was one of the best. Very delicious. Holiday Chocolate Kugelhopf~ dark chocolate sweet bread studded with chocolate chips, citrus peels, and almond praline, rolled in sugar. I really liked kugelhoph's dough and almond praline! It wasn't too heavy, lighter texture and praline wasn't too sweet. So, sugar coating paired with dough very well. I would like to get this one again! Overall, I really enjoyed both Christmas items. Their baking goods was always top notch.

I came with my friend on a weekday and managed to snag the last cardamom buns. They don't serve matcha anymore and I'm not a big coffee drinker so I ordered the ginger honey yuzu soda instead. My friend got a cookie and an iced mocha. The staff were super nice so no complaints there! As for ambiance, they had a few seats outside and what looked like a huge space under the stairs for seating but they had blocked that area off as they're turning it into a retail section - seems a bit strange for me as when the summer is over people won't want to sit outside anymore so it will have to be a to-go model. The cookie was good, but I was really disappointed in the cardamom bun. It was $7 and barely had any flavour - it seems like it's made with whole wheat flour and didn't have enough cardamom or sugar in my opinion so I only ended up eating half. The yuzu drink also wasn't good. The ginger pieces got stuck in my straw immediately and the whole drink just tasted like ginger and soda water, there was no other flavour or sweetness in it. My friend also didn't really enjoy her drink. Overall this spot was a big disappointment given how many amazing cafes we have

It's my first time here. It's busy. Lots of seats. They have a glass covered patio, which is a nice extension. I ordered a double shot of ice espresso. It was a warm day but needed caffeine. I like they have lots of choices of sweets and donuts and their portions are big. The tables are small though, and a bit cramped inside, unlike what I'm used to at Main St. There's also minimal wall outlets for laptops or phone charging. So make sure you have your devices charged before coming here to work or study. Outside it's walking distance from other stores snd restaurants. It's a nice commercial neighborhood. I recommend visiting it after going to the beach down the hill.

I am writing this review because my email to them went unanswered…read more I am shocked and disappointed at the way I was treated after spending $40. I am a HUGE 49th fan and love their dougnuts and coffee. Whenever I have friends in town, or someone needs a suggestion on where to visit, I always say "49th has really good coffee and doughnuts". Unfortunately, my mind has changed, and I don't see myself ever recommending this location. As an avid coffee drinker, I am pretty picky on where I choose to have coffee and love the cafe culture in Vancouver. My mom loves doughnuts and we had come all the way from Langley for a day in Kits, so I recommended we go to 49th! I spent about $40 on 4 doughnuts, 2 maple sea salt lattes and a drip coffee. The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". Then I had asked how many shots are in the small and she said "2". I then had asked if we could get a new/different drink and she goes "I'll give it to you this one time, but next time you'll have to pay." This is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. It felt so rude and accusatory. I very rarely come to Kits, so she wouldn't have recognized me and am an honest girl who works hard for my money. When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

The space is beautiful, very bright with high ceilings. And the selection of pastries was impressive. Opted for a latte and a croissant. Finally walked over and after several exchanges, determined it was our coffees. I provided the pager and said it did not go off. The attendant then reached down and activated it. Nice. No apologies. I was glad to see the same amazing pastries and tarts and sandwiches, all fresh and beautifully displayed in the display case. I ordered a croissant and it was superb as usual. I also ordered one of thier baguettes to bring home. My kid and I think SV has the best baguettes in the city. They are crusty on the outside, soft yet chewy inside, and just consistently perfect. This one was as good as all the others we've had from here. Yeah! I wanted an Earl Grey tea which IMO is a pretty basic order. Surprisingly, they did not have it. I got a green tea instead (their tea selection was very limited). And the girl who took my order, as well as the girl who rang me up at the cash, could NOT have been more aloof. I smiled and tried to make a little small talk, especially with the girl at the cash when I took out my debit card and asked how to pay (she just pointed at the tap symbol on the machine but my card is not tap-enabled. I always joke with people about this). This girl would not even look at me. Zero eye contact. No "thank you", nada. I just got really cold vibes from the two of them there at the counter. (At least when I picked up my tea at the beverage counter, the guy there made eye contact and semi smiled). (Side note: the staff at the Yaletown site have always been super pleasant and friendly, and this really makes a difference. To me, anyhow). Contrary to another reviewer's posting, the restaurant and the washroom was very clean when I visited here. No issues there. Honestly, I'm not sure I'll return to this site. There are so many cafes and bakeries around, I'd rather go to one with a warmer vibe. Or stay with my Yaletown SV.
