This location has some indoor seating and also lots of 2 top tables outside, which are shaded in the morning. We got lucky that we beat the mid morning rush because the line got really long after we ordered. It was hard to pick from all the options, and we were heading to lunch soon, so we couldn't go overboard. - Cheese scone: great texture, good cheesiness, not too dry - Bacon and onion scroll: a cheesy and meaty roll packed with flavor They also have lots of cute merchandise like candles, sauces, snoopy / peanuts gear. Christmas Season Special Item - Christmas Tree Croissant and Kuegelhoph Christmas tree croissant with red stripes filled with hazelnut pastry cream and bright passionfruit jam. Dough was very buttery and crispy. I could taste strong butter flavor which stood out. Passionfruit jam dominated over hazelnut cream. It lean on sweeter side. I prefer more hazelnut cream. However, the croissant itself was one of the best. Very delicious. Holiday Chocolate Kugelhopf~ dark chocolate sweet bread studded with chocolate chips, citrus peels, and almond praline, rolled in sugar. I really liked kugelhoph's dough and almond praline! It wasn't too heavy, lighter texture and praline wasn't too sweet. So, sugar coating paired with dough very well. I would like to get this one again! Overall, I really enjoyed both Christmas items. There are fairly high concrete steps from the front door to the inside of the cafe. Not easily accessible. Selection of French croissants and fusion Asian flavours. We went here on a Saturday afternoon and it was popping. There are a few tables to enjoy dine in, so we settled in 1 and tried the chocolate almond croissant and a chai latte. The croissant was so good - it was a bit sweet inside, but the almond and chocolate flavors were fantastic. The outer layer is so crispy and buttery, and it has a nice crispy taste for some parts. So many pastry places in the area don't have croissants that are buttery and flaky, so I am glad this place is able to distinguish themselves for that. The chai latte is well spiced and a little sweet, with cinnamon on top. They gave us an extra small cup as they prepared extra, which is a nice touch of them. read more

Cute little cafe in The Georgia hotel but it is cramped in there. Don't expect to have to relaxing cup of cappuccino and pastry because the noise level was too high to relax...or have a conversation. Perhaps it was because we visited the weekend after Christmas? My Spanish Coffee was a a little sweeter than I like, but the breakfast sandwich was excellent - the thyme mushrooms added really good flavor. Service was slow and the cashier couldn't answer some of our questions about ingredients. Side note: you bus your own table here. It was disappointing to see so many people ignore this (bussing station is clearly visible) and the couple who sat next to us demanded the cashier come out to clean off a table, then they left their mess after they were done. Oh my GOSH the food here is AMAZING. I got the Pepperoni Scroll and mom got the Ham and Cheese Scroll. First off, these are *very* big and I felt like it matched the price point just fine. But they tasted so good!! The croissant style roll was incredibly soft and had that delicious buttery flavor mingling with the cheese and pepperoni and red pepper flakes. I devoured mine so fast. Mom loved hers as well. This was our first time here but we'll definitely be back, maybe to get the same thing and maybe try some other stuff as well :) Also I'm not sure what it would do to the texture but heating one of these up in the microwave for a few seconds would probably taste amazing too. The OG location, why did it take me so long to write a review? Everytime I come to this location, the one challenge is finding parking, but if you have enough will to say..... you are going to come here, you will eventually find it, and there is a few spots on the block. Once you are in, and usually there is another line up.... to order your stuff, this isn't a regular coffee joint with a few pastries, this is Beaucoup where any pastry you order will probably put you back into that lineup... to order more for any friend/loved one.. if you care.. or for yourself for later. I have seen in firsthand with people I bring here, even ordering things that they wouldn't normally order... caused they looked good in the display window.... and tasted better when eating the delectible delight. There are a few inside seats here, in a charming little shop, with bright walls, a high ceiling, and a big coffee bar at the centre of the spot. The coffee beans of choice in this place is 49th Parrallel.. and they do know how to make this coffee go down smooth. There is also seating outside the shop, in an interesting spot a few blocks away from Broadway and West 2nd, kind of nowhere, and now somewhere, as everyone knows Beaucoup and will come here for their needs. Speaking of go-to's, there is the Chausson Aux Pommes, and this delightful apple pastry is worth the price of admission. Another item... is the peanut butter buttercream dream, it looks like a cookie sandwich, just trust it... and order it. Occasionally they will do collaborations and also seasonal specials, and if you see lineups... well there is a 'cult' following for these pastries, if you wonder why, don't go on a release date item, go before and understand why, and also they have been around a long time.... and the hard work and keeping all the pastries at their highest level speak volumes, even to this day. I used to looooove Beacoup bakery. it was one of the most iconic spots for a delicious baked good. I'm not sure what happened but i do feel it's gone downhill over the years. I've gone here a few times recently and have been SO disappointed. The coffee tastes burnt in my opinion and today, i ordered an iced latte (regular milk, no sugar, nothing special) and it was $6.88! CRIMINAL. I wanted to add vanilla but that was gunna run me $7.88 for ONE coffee?! I get it -times are tough but $8 for milk and espresso?! cmon! My other problem is the staff. i came around 3pm today and nobody welcomed us in, the one cashier was sweeping in the lineup and said "can u go the other way?" like girl... the customer comes first. if you don't want us here, then lock the cafe. And also when i asked "ohhh actually, i don't need the vanilla in my coffee" cuz it was an extra $1, she basically rolled her eyes. I get it, we all have our bad days but don't work a customer service job if you can't provide a nice experience. I've worked 10 years in fast food and always tried to provide a good experience. Sorry, rant over! haha All in all, they do have some really winning pastries. Some of my faves include the croissants, peanut butter cookie sandidch and the kouign iman (i am totally butchering the spelling) The vibe in here is cute but i do wish they had more seating. Having tried over 30+ croissant places in Vancouver, I can say that Beaucoup Bakery is my favourite one in this city. The croissants here are always so flakey to the point of being crispy, which I personally prefer. Almost the perfect balance of filling, sweetness level, and butteriness for me. Out of everything I've tried, the pistachio ($6.5) and almond ($6.5) croissant were two of my favourite. The fillings are very rich and nutty, with still a little bit of texture left instead of a smooth paste. Interior was very chic and European inspired, quite elegant and feminine. A few seats are available but not really that comfortable. Service was professional and fast. Coffee was decent, but the highlights are definitely their pastries. read more

I've heard this bakery so often and finally decided to try their items. I went on Monday morning so it wasn't crowded. Their location is kinda secluded just off the Granville Island. - almond croissant: flaky croissant but I think it was over baked a little bit since the outside was super crispy. The almond filling was good and tasty - ham & cheese scroll: good savory pastry. It had lots of cheese and it had good flakey texture. - raspberry brioche: very dry & flaky not fluffy like brioche. The raspberry cream was good and not too sweet - london fog: very weak tea taste & too much milk. Overall, it has good pastries selection but the quality was kinda average (3.5 stars). read more

After many days of rain, it was a sunny day and I came to this bakery cafe for lunch. From the front door to the interior it gave me a comfy and bright feeling. There were plenty of choices of bread la and I spotted their bacon and onion roll looked good so I ordered it with a medium size latte. The roll tasted good and it's size is big. They didn't serve the cutlery so I assumed I had to hold it with my hand. The taste of bacon and onion was rich... while I was enjoying it, a large portion of it suddenly broke and dropped onto the floor. Really unexpected. A staff member saw it and she asked me which bread did I got and she gave me a new one. I didn't take it for granted though many cafes may offer the same to their customers, I really appreciated her attentiveness and care to the customer. It is also worth mentioning the latte tasted good. Unlike some cozy cafes that serve bitter taste and herbal medicine like coffee with unpleasant after taste. While I was sitting there I observed the staff member checked the hygiene of the toilet frequently. In terms of food quality and service, I am happy to give them a 5-star. Made a visit over the weekend for the Hot Chocolate Festival - The pastry displays were mouth watering for sure - there was several things I would love to try , maybe in the future - The Cafe has very limited seating in a tight space - the hand off space to retrieve your goods is also quite tight - personally not a huge fan of the layout and design of the space , but they make do with what they have so will need to give them that much - Anyhow, back to the hot chocolate combination - the tart that was their play on Hong Kongs egg tart was a miss for me - most definitely prefer having it baked as a whole verses having a cream custard - it was way too sweet for my liking , but if you have a sweet tooth , this might do the trick - The drink - that was their play on Hong Kongs Yinyang milk tea mixed with chocolate - was also a miss for me - again way too sweet , and personally did not even get a hint of the flavor of a yinyang drink - the chocolate was way too prominent - I'm not sure if I was trying too hard to compare the pairing with the traditional - but if I judged without thinking what I expected it too taste like , then my feedback would still stand at way too sweet! - I think maybe half sweet would hit the spot - 3 stars for spacing (Not their fault) and the subpar hot chocolate fest experience - However I will try to find a chance to revisit and have some of their other offerings , and maybe try a coffee :) https://www.instagram.com/vanleo.eatsfood1015/ read more

Matchalicious delight. I picked up a Baby Yoda hot chocolate ($10.95) for my post workout rainy day walk. The Valrhona Dulcey Blonde chocolate paired perfectly with the Shizuoka ceremonial grade matcha. The drink was chocolatey smooth with deep rich matcha flavour, and as full-bodied as I've ever come across (non European style). This was by far the best hot chocolate I've had as a part of the festival. The Star Wars matcha biscuit was dense and fun. I lost my mini kitkat in the drink but that was fine. I do wish the hot chocolate was much hotter though 5/5. I also picked up a chocolate chip cookie which was much too sweet for my preference. 3/5 read more

I came here during the hot chocolate fest and got the "Baby Yoda," which was a white chocolate matcha drink. It also came with a small Star Wars-themed cake. The drink overall was just okay. The matcha flavour didn't shine as much as I wanted to and the white chocolate just made it feel like you're drinking a matcha latte. The cake was pretty good -- I liked the texture for my soft mouth and that it wasn't very sweet. Matcha flavour was okay. Service was really quick. But they don't ask anyone's names and so when everyone was ordering the Baby Yoda.. it was confusing. There are only three tables inside and a narrow bar for standing, which is unfortunate. Beaucoup has been my regular bakery and cafe for the last 7 years. I use to really love it, but over the years, the price has dramatically gone up and the quality has gone down. Food - The croissants are no longer buttery. The cakes are shrunken in size but the cost is $3.50 more per cake than Thomas Haas. My go to use to be the bacon and onion scroll, but they last few time I have gotten it, it has been over baked and the size varies. You really shouldn't be selling overbaked items for the price you are charging. Coffee - They use to have the best mochas in town. Today will be the last time I will get it. They use to put 2 spoons of chocolate in a medium, but today they only put one and claimed they have "re-formulated". Tasted like a latte. For $6.75 for a medium mocha (they have raised prices recently), you think they can at least add enough chocolate to make it taste like a mocha. Service - The staff here a few years ago use to be great, now they seem like they don't know what they are doing and always getting drinks wrong. For the prices, I'd rather go to Thomas Haas, at least they are consistent and not constantly raising prices. read more

Beaucoup is my favourite French fusion bakery in Vancouver. I love their blend of French-Japanese pastries and their rotation of seasonal treats. Ive been coming here probably ever since they opened and always recommend it to friends from out of town. I also love their commitment to random acts of kindness and they have a chalkboard around the corner where you can write your greatest achievement this year. They have a few tables along the side. There usually tends to be a line up and the atmosphere is busy but it usually goes pretty quickly. All in all, definitely recommend if you're in the neighbourhood or stopping by Granville Island. Its just a stone's throw away, or maybe a couple more than that. read more

It's been years since I visited Vancouver and the only place I recommend to friends and my places to eat is really Beaucoup. I really miss their croissants. Server isn't friendly and indoor seating isn't comfortable or place to chat. Outdoor seating is better but it's too cold during winter. Coffee is alright, probably this is Robusta. When I had this Pistachio croissant, for a sec, I felt I'm having baklava I love the crunch of the croissant itself and don't think it's worth because I don't taste much on pistachio but more into paste, as in no smell if u know what I mean. read more

High end hot chocolate, or definitely the most expensive one we ever tried. Come Thai with Me was definitely interesting and the flavour profile was in harmony. Tea brewed very well with distinct aromatic spices and just the right amount of milkiness. Beautifully presented garnishes and also very good tasting. Good snap from the golden cloud nest and great white chocolate flavours all around. Quite an unique tasting experience because the white chocolate flavours come through better when the drink is cooler. While hot, the tea flavour profile dominates, kind of like red vs white wines. read more

I enjoyed their Peanut Butter cookie which looked kind of like a ice cream sandwich, but with a peanut butter cream inside instead of ice cream. I also had their giant wheel ham & cheese pastry and their mini almond croissant. Everything was delicious! Stumbled across Beaucoup when researching my trip to Vancouver and I'm happy I got a chance to go. Line was out the door when my group got there but moved pretty quickly. We got the Almond Croissant, Kouign Amann, Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie. The croissant and Kouign Amann were flaky and buttery and not overly sweet. The peanut butter cookie was a bit heavy but still delicious. Was hoping they had the cruffin but unfortunately they didn't. A nice modern cafe in the less expected area. There isn't a lot of room to sit so it may be best to grab takeout. There are 3 two person table near the washroom. There are two small round tables by where you order so it is squishy by that area. The croissant is super flaky and delicious. We got the chocolate one and also got the almond croissant. We were in the neighbourhood and wanted to get some baked goods to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon tea time. We picked up a variety of options: Tropical scone 5/5: this was one I was most curious about. A combination of coconut, candied pineapple and macadamia nuts-- it's Hawaii in scone form. This was delicious. Buttery, soft on the inside, a bit crunchy on the outside. This was a huge hit for everyone Yuzu lemon tart 4/5: this was tangy and well balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. The base was more like a cookie Mini Chocolate croissant 3.5/5: a bit crunchy on the outside with a buttery base inside and chocolate accompanying every bite. I'm usually a bigger fan of just a savoury or classic croissant but I was intrigued by the size of these petite treats. Great for an afternoon pick me up Chocolate chip cookie 3.5/5: for the soft cookie enthusiasts, this is perfect for you after a little warm up in the oven. Their Chocolate Hazelnut Rice Pudding Chou blew me away. It was a culinary masterpiece. I've had the best chou in Geneva, but this place was a close second, almost becoming my favorite cream puff place. The Chou itself was great - crisp outside and super soft and fluffy inside. There was a salted caramel filling and a rice pudding filling occupying they inside. They both helped balance each other out. The salted caramel filling was definitely a SALTED caramel (it was pretty salty lol) and very flow so ya gotta lick it up fast! And the rice pudding didn't have much flavor but it helped cut the rich flavor of the caramel, and gave it a really nice texture. The chocolate cream on top was also perfectly rich, and I love that they had pieces of candied hazelnuts on top. I also got the Churro Morning Bun, which was filled with a vanilla custard. I didn't care for the cinnamon sticks on top, but everything else was delicious! It wasn't as overpoweringly sweet as I thought it would be judging from its appearance, which was nice (considering I ate four pastries in one day HAHA) We also tried their regular croissant, which was really good and flaky (So. many. air pockets. so much butter. so much deliciousness) with so many layers. read more

For the baked goods aficionados out there - you must visit this spot. Very well known for their famous DOUBLE baked almond croissants, they do sell out quick & early! There weren't any available on this visit, but I can vouch that they are amazing.
