I'm not sure how it is on other days and times, but this place was BUMPIN' on a Sunday night. There's a pretty wide selection of food, including seafood, fried stuff, and even dessert. My favorites were the bourbon chicken and the shrimp in cream sauce. Other things like the macaroni and cheese and fried chicken weren't so great, but what can I expect. This is an old review that I'm just now posting. My daughter and I went here one day for lunch. I've been here before with co-workers and found it to be ok. Anyway, after paying I noticed my daughter panicking but speechless at the same time because she saw a mice ran in front of her. Needless to say, I asked for a refund and the cashier tried very hard to act surprised but I could tell it was an act. The health department should've been closed this place down. The food wasn't exceptional and the service was average at best. It's not a place I would frequent but at least I gave them a try. It seems like they have a variety of seafoods such as crabs, clams, craw-fishes, shrimps, and what it seems like flounder but it all tasted either so bland or salty. The Americanized Chinese food was not worth it, like the General Tso Chicken was heavily battered with little pieces of meat. They had a Sushi and a Pho bar but like everything else it was mediocre. The restaurant felt more like a cattle ranch during feeding time. The owner seemed to care more about profit and crammed as many seatings as possible for maximum profit but I guess an all you can eat buffet with seafood for 15 bones is okay, if your short on the funds and have a family to feed. read more

We used to come here long ago and the food was pretty good but a little greasy. When I got pregnant I just couldn't handle eating it anymore. We returned 5 months later and quickly remembered why we chose not to come anymore. The food was barely warm, some even cold. Everything I put in my mouth was either greasy or just plain old tasting. I couldn't even eat it anymore so I sat there with plates of wasted food. So sad. I finally went to the owner and complained and she gave me excuse about how they were cleaning that day and the food was affected by it. Then she proceeded to show me to the microwave in the corner I guess the food being cold doesn't happen often, right?! She apologized and I just walked away. She noticed I wasn't eating and came over to offer tea or coffee. No lady, I just want my money back. We will never, ever go back again. I feel completely sick to my stomach right now. Finally tried it while I was in the area. It wasn't as good as I expected because I thought it was going to be better than the one in Silver Spring. It's almost the same food as the one in Silver Spring. This one had imatation shark fin soup, Mongolian grill, and quail in addiion to what you get in Silver Spring. It's also a couple dollars more. If you go on a hot day ask for a table in the cooler back section away from the steam tables and the windows. read more

I have been to this location more than 5 times, the 1st visit was great. However the following it is not so pleasant. The employees who making the sushi was extremely rude, I notice that he always gave me and my friend a face, when we start taking sushi or make a request for some from his bar. One time he made us waited for more than 30 min just for 4 piece of sushi. Not only that every time my friend and I approach the sushi bar, he would walk away and would not take any request or order from us but when I request for him he would go in the back and take a break. Went with my buddy big blue Finn tuna and some other friends. Place was absolute ass. My buddy puked. I'm a big eater but just couldn't do it here. First of all, who the heck has pizza at a Chinese buffet? At least make the pizza good. Everything just plain sucked. Went back to the hotel and oh my goodness I feel bad for those toilets. I rather goto Chipotle (w/o the E. Coli), a real Mexican cantina, McDonalds, a burger joint than go back here. Not everything was horrible, just most of the main meat dishes. The tofu and some of the Chinese desserts were decent. I didn't dare eat the sushi. read more

My husband and I used to go to the buffet on Little River because I love the sushi selection. When we tried the Blue Pearl, the ONLY things I enjoyed were the blue crabs and the fruit....they stopped offering the blue crabs, I stopped coming, except to see if the blue crabs are back. For the price, the sushi has VERY little fish, the Pho soup is nasty, the cooks behind the grill don't speak english and either ignore you if there are spanish speaking patrons talking to them or they just don't understand what you want.. But if you like clams or fried fish, it's good,....I think I would come back if the people behind the grill could atleast speak english, I am still curious about what I could have ordered from that area, but I think it will stay a mystery. For me I am back to the chinese buffet on Little River Turnpike, the food is consistently ok, but the sushi is perfect and that's all I need to know. read more

I signed up YELP just so I can write a review about this place. Worst place to eat Chinese. Just worst experience. It was my first visit. I saw waiting line half way to entrance and the place was packed. I should have read some reviews before I went... Overall foods were not fresh, not tasty, and some undercooked Their plates were disgusting! One of them had rices underneath it and another had food stains on the dish. Employees are awful. I saw an employee yelling at a customer because that customer was in his way mobbing. Customer was picking up some ice cream and I'm sure that mobbing guy could wait a moment until customer finishes scoop his ice cream without yelling "EXCUSE ME!!! EXCUSE ME!!" and slammed the ice cream freezer door. Floor was slippery and I almost fall down twice. I simply don't understand how can this buffet is packed with customers with this kind of service. read more

Stop here after shopping at Springfield mall. The food isn't as bad as in other reviews. However, there are some food are salty :( but I agree that they didn't clean the dish properly :( so make sure you swipe with napkins or change another one before you put your food on. They didn't put each scoop for each tray of food, so people just use one for couple trays which is kinda gross. Waiters and waitress are quick and nice. They clean our table and fill water often. I come on Sunday night and it's crowded. Would come back next time for the services but not really for the food :( read more

1 STAR IS BEING GENEROUS. Been going to this place for 5 years now. Every year it has gone down. When it first opened up the food was above-par. Now, the food is so damn bad they have a microwave at your disposal because the food is just that bad. Family and I came at 8:45 for a late dinner. We asked what time they closed, the lady said 10. We decided to pay the full 15$ price. Upon seeing the food I couldn't believed how badly I got hustled. I let the lady have it. Everything was cold, flies were flying around the place, the chefs who work the soup/sushi/grill stopped working completely an hour and a half before closing time and says he closed the grill and soup because there wasn't enough people. My in-laws and I had FOOD POISONING this past Saturday after dining here from the mongolian grill!!! My husband was fine because he was the only one who didn't eat the mongolian grill! Either they left the raw shrimp and pork out too long or they didn't cook them enough!:( The sauce tasted gross and old too. my in laws and I went home, each taking turns vomiting, feeling nauseated, and having diarrhea! I had severe stomach cramps. This lasted about 2 days! My in laws had to miss work because of this! I called the manager and he didn't say anything much about it. we were regulars at this buffet too and my father in law was a loyal customer. now, we are not going back:( horrible experience. Honestly there is nothing good to say about this place, as sad as it is to say. It's not cheap ($45 for three people!), the interior is extremely dated despite not being that old (I still remember when it opened), and the food is awful. The selection of "Chinese" food, if you can even call it that, is pathetic and scant. None of it tastes good and isn't fresh. There were less than 10 pieces of sushi out total ("sushi", if you consider rice, seaweed, and imitation crab "sushi") and they were all hard and dry and looked like they were sitting there for hours. The stir-fry counter was dirty and the ingredients looked almost spoiled. The service is inattentive at best, and while they do whisk away your plates in a timely manner, that's about it. No offers on refills or asking how you're doing. The waiters and waitresses talk about the customers in Chinese behind their backs. The seams on the chairs were old and ripping and the inside looked like it was built in the 80s, even though it really was built in the 2000s. The worst thing -- I got sick from the food that same night and even the following night. I only came here because my dad's a fan, for whatever reason I have no idea why. read more

this place was awful. for 2 people during dinner hours, it was $27. not worth it at all. even for an "all you can eat" buffet. I loaded my plate with fried fish, sushi and dim sum to start. it looked good. but the fish was dry, cold and tasteless. the sushi was average and uninteresting. the dim sum was basically just pink mystery paste in a dumpling exterior. the desert table had the usual buffet "treats". dry cakes, and deep fried chinese donuts. the hot tea we were served seemed watered down. i asked the waitress what kind of tea it was and she said "hot tea". i asked "oh i mean, is it green tea or...?" and she just tells me again that its hot tea. all the meats in every dish were clearly of the lowest grade. they had mac and cheese which looked over cooked and had a film that made it seem like it had been slow cooking nonstop for weeks. the salmon (which had what looked to be an appetizing sauce on it) was cold and had almost no flavor. which made no sense since it clearly had a sauce on it! how did they even do that?! the only thing that did have flavor on it was the dish the cook made for me. they cook the meat and you pick out veggies. a lovely stir fry? why not. but no, not even that, a simple stir fry, could be executed. i asked for mongolian sauce and he put way to much on it. it was was much that i couldnt finish it. it ruined the dish. overall, i would have given this place minus 2 stars if i could. it seems they've been open for many years so i take it that many people in this area like shitty chinese food. read more

very wierd... food is prepared in pure oil and has no taste to it whatsoever... I ate the shrimp from there and my god before I put it in my mouth it smelled so funky. the same with all their seafood just drenched in oil . next thing I would like to say is their sushi... FALSE ADVERTISING and HORRIBLE customer service! Never even sat down to eat. Their website advertises a free meal on your birthday as long as you show identification to prove it is your birthday. Got there and the gal at the cash register (dinner shift) would not honor. I asked to talk to the manager and they wouldn't let me talk to a manager. Instead she calls the owner (or so she claims). The "owner" states that you have to have a coupon to get the free meal on your birthday. Well this is NOT what the website states. The gal at the register then proceeds to give me attitude. We all left. Who wants to spend their money at a place that doesn't honor their own website and has no customer service whatsoever. Do not go. I normally not a big fan of buffet, but so how my family like going to places like that and enjoy the mass quantity of food that is brought out to serve a, sometime rowdy group of customers demanding more. So, the question with buffet is always quality vs. quantity. In rare occasions, you do find that one place that has the perfect balance of both. In my opinion, I believe Blue Pearl Buffet has that balance. The quantity is always there for many buffet places. It's usually the quality of the dish that is lacking. However, here the quality was on par. There were many of the common dishes that where showcased, but some of the exotic dishes, like the stuff crabs, steam crayfish, bake fish (asian style) had better quality in flavor, seasoning, and texture. This is probably one of the only buffet place I would come back to and to share the experience with my friends and family. read more

I found a bug in my noodle soup. Yup. A bug. I saw a guy holding two plastic buckets in the kitchen. I thought he was going to mop the floor.
