    Pineapple Fried Rice
    Anna D.

The food was "just ok" but made me sick later. The staff was good and worked quickly. The place is nicely decorated and is a large place. I ordered a chicken with mixed vegetables. The garlic stir-fry sauce wasn't made properly and was watery and salty. My friend said his pineapple stir-fried rice and shrimp didn't smell right. I didn't taste it, but he said it smelled off. My other friend said her drunken noodles were just ok but not great. Two out of three of us cook Asian food frequently, so we know food pretty well. I would not eat here again just because I got sick from it. It was mostly empty there for 6pm on a week night.

    Crab rangoon

Crab rangoon was great. The wrapper was crispy, and they were creamy and sweet, just how I like them. The basil fried rice was spicy and fresh. Service was fast and friendly. There were no other customers in the store while we were there, so it was very quiet.

My brother and I swing by and this place was located in a strip mall with other businesses. As you walked in the restaurant is clean, spacious, a mural and some decor on the walls. We ordered 2) items: 1) Moo ping with sticky rice 2) Chicken pad Thai 3) We wanted to order dessert but we were informed out of the 7 desserts listed there weren't available because they sold out. They had mango sticky rice but the server stated the mangoes were bruised. So we didn't ordered any dessert. The moo ping (pork skewers) were on point, tender, perfectly grilled served with a small basket of sticky rice. The chicken pad Thai was delicious as well. The restaurant states it closes at 9p but we were told as we walked in that the kitchen closes at 8p. So make sure you called ahead to check their times since it wasn't updated on their website.

A little Thai place in a quiet neighborhood. I'm no Thai expert and I'm sure someone who is from Thailand would find things that were wrong with it but overall I would say they do a good job. Things were a bit of the sweet side but that's normal for most Thai places in America. This place is deep in the burb's so if you want more authentic food you will need to drive but if you want a good meal not too far from home. You will enjoy it.

    Crispy Duck Basil

Had such a lovely time here for a lunch. We got Thai Iced Tea, egg rolls to share, and I got the crispy basil duck. We even got extra egg rolls on the house as an appetizer, which was so great. My crispy basil duck came out Hot and Crispy and Tasty. The hostess was super engaging and the place was spacious and clean Def worth a revisit. Thank you!

29 Pad Thai is a good Thai restaurant. Very good service. Ambiance is very loud, bright. Food was good as well as customer service. I'll consider coming back when in this area of town. Very personal staff!!!

Excellent Menu and it is on line easy to read and see.

27 March 2025 - Walt Okon at 29 Pad Thai: Saratoga Shopping Center, 8064 Rolling Road, Springfield, VA 22153. This was my first time at this restaurant. This is the second location of this restaurant. The first restaurant is 9 Pad Thai in Springfield on Commerce Street. I was welcomed by a young lady from Bangkok, Thailand. I was told the Padthai was excellent. The restaurant is conveniently located in Saratoga Shopping Center. There is plenty of free parking close to the restaurant front door. My first look at the entry door of the restaurant appeared small. Once inside the restaurant opens into beautiful comfortable décor. The 29 Pad Thai is truly authentic Thai as the owners and cooks are from Thailand. They are doing Bangkok, Thailand cooking. The venue is Modern Bangkok décor. Really nice wood and leather chairs are set at wood grained tables. Everything is super clean. Great menu. Open for Lunch and dinner and they do Take-Out. The food was great. Ordered Spring Rolls served with sweet & sour sauce- Wonderful. The Cashew Chicken (Crispy) came with fried chicken with onions, bell peppers, water chestnut, dry Thai-chili, scallions, and cashew nuts. It was excellent. The 9Padthai comes with stir-fried rice noodles with egg, bean sprouts, red tofu, garlic chives, dried shrimp, cooked in special pad Thai sauce, served topped with crushed peanuts. Amazing! Prices are competitively reasonable. They do Take-Out. Service was excellent. Perfect place. Extremely comfortable. Excellent service with friendly smiles. It is like a diamond in this small-town Saratoga, Virginia. I highly recommend it. Walt Okon, Springfield, Virginia. https://www.29padthai.com/menu

Steamed mussels. They have a little kick to them (which I loved)

This place is in the "soft opening" stage so they do not have their liquor license yet (or I would give it 5 stars) but the food is very authentic. I've been to Thailand and this is one of the few places that I can say "hits the mark" everything tasted great and the service was phenomenal. It wasn't crowded at all (which I liked ) and they checked on you often. We will definitely return in a month or two (once the liquor license is approved )

Corner seating with booths. The restaurant gave us the okay to decorate.
    Mimi A.

This place was fantastic! Well deserving of 5 stars! Perfect spot for groups. The staff hosted an incredible and attentive bday dinner. They were extremely gracious in providing seating. The space was perfect for everyone to mingle and take photos. The food was superb and extraordinary. My friends raved that the pineapple fried rice was phenomenally delicious. Thank you 29 pad Thai for an unforgettable bday

My son orders from here all the time at his place of work since it is very close by, but this is the first time I have ever tried it. THE DEETS: This was an online order delivered to my home & sadly, the service took a bit. FOOD: We shared an app of chicken Larb Wrap, which is basically Larb (laab) Gai, which is a spicy minced meat salad from Laos and northeastern Thailand, featuring a mix of ground meat (like chicken, pork, or beef) with fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, in a seasoning of lime juice, fish sauce, and chili. It is bold, fresh, and tangy. Brussel Sprout stir fry with mixed veggies, garlic, and tofu, and asked for it spicy, and it was absolutely delish! Khao Soi, which is a Northern Thai-style curry with chicken, pickled cabbage, and served with egg noodles, not rice. Mango Sticky Rice, which is sliced mangos over sweet sticky rice that has a coconut sauce and is topped with sesame seeds. All of the food, but the dessert, was amazing with incredible flavor profiles and traveled well for delivery. Sadly, the Mango Sticky Rice was very underwhelming and was a sticky pile of tasteless, glued rice. My son thought maybe it was because of being delivered, but I have ordered this dessert from several other establishments for delivery and have never had a problem. NOTES: I would order from them again, and I must say that they wrapped every single food item so securely that I was thoroughly impressed and super appreciative. I will skip the mango sticky rice for sure, and for that reason, and the enormous delivery wait time, I am taking off a star, but everything else was so delish, I am keeping the other four stars. As always, peeps, please support your local small biz! Cheers! 3/1/26

I met a friend for lunch at Thai Cafe on a Saturday. Parking near the restaurant that is part of…read morethe Springfield Mall is frankly a bit challenging. With a little persistence and a short walk, I found a spot. Walking in to the restaurant, there is a small greeting counter. No one was there and so we walked to the back. You don't see the tables when walking into the place, I suspect the kitchen is along side the hallway leading to the tables. The ambiance is friendly, casual with the tables and booths well spaced to provide privacy. The restaurant was relatively empty during our meal and the noise level was comfortable, allowing us to have conversation easily. Thai food is one of my two favorite and I am always looking for a new place to be inspired. I put Thai Cafe on my list of places that I'll return to. I started my meal with Tom Yum Seafood soup. The flavor was really excellent. Two minor things for me: I like soup warm and not hot. For me, the temp was perfect but for other people who like their soup really hot, it probably wasn't hot enough. The other issue is 'how spicy does this restaurant prepare their food?' The soup was 1 pepper, which was a bit milder than I prefer, but accurate. I added a bit more spice. I chose the vegetarian Kapow Pak. The dish is prepared in a brown sauce which frankly isn't my favorite. But it was really good. The veges were fresh, crisp and crunchy, and the tofu was wonderfully lightly fried. The dish is described as medium spicy, reasonably accurate. My friend chose the Pad Woon Sean with chicken. I didn't try it but he said it was a 10/10. The staff were friendly, helpful, and helped me select my dish. This is a family business that's been open for about 30 years. The servers were totally wonderful. I will certainly be back.

My friend who isn't typically a fan of thai tea really liked Mae Ornnit's version, because it wasn't that sweet. We also liked the strawberry smoothie! Some of our food favorites were the moo ping with sticky rice as an appetizer. The pork marinade was really good! The crispy chicken with green curry was also delicious. The chicken had a great crisp, and it wasn't an overwhelming amount of green curry. The volcano tom yum dish using Mama instant noodles was a visually stunning dish. It was also tasty, served with a lot of seafood. The Mama cup was repurposed to hold veggies. I kind of wished there were more seasoning or some sauce with the veggies because they were a bit dry, but we mixed it in with the noodles, so no biggie. We devoured the mango sticky rice, that was about $9. We should've ordered 2 of those to share amongst us 4. The mango was perfectly ripe and delicious!!! When the Pad Thai arrived, I was also pleasantly surprised with the taste; however, two things struck me as very odd -- the thin noodles and white color! It did not have the familiar reddish look of tamarind which I thought was essential for Pad Thai. Regardless, it was delicious and I ate everything. Not a single morsel of food was left. If i weren't eating with polite company, I would have probably slurped the remaining dressing from the salad bowl. I'm definitely coming back and it shouldn't be difficult because the prices seem fairly inexpensive.

It was the perfect "reset" bowl. * Crab Fried Rice: They did not skimp on the crab! It was fresh, fluffy, and paired perfectly with a cold, crisp Singha beer. Whether you're celebrating a holiday or just need to romanticize your life with some top-tier Thai food, this is the place. The service was lovely, the Mother's Day special menu was a thoughtful touch, and the atmosphere is 10/10. Chef's kiss. I'll definitely be back!

Always 5 stars. The food is always fresh. I've recently changed my new usual order to tofu and…read moreveggies and love it! Service is always top notch. Immediate greeted and brought menus. It is a smallish place but never have to wait for seating so far. Variety of music is playing. There is a small bar with TV as well. A lot of take out orders as well as eat in.
