Food - 3.5/5 had the Hoi Jaw and the Kao Moo Dang. The Hoi Jaw had a bland crispy skin while the meat inside had some flavour. But it definitely needed more seasoning. The Kao Moo Dang was delicious and flavourful but there was way more rice than meat. Wished there were more pork slices or even the Chinese sausage. Service - 5/5 the server was very attentive despite being the only server for lunch and having 4 other tables. Ambiance - 2/5 it was a bit dark inside. Couldn't really hear any music. Didn't have a warm welcoming feel to it. Will come back to try their other dishes. read more

I have Thai food obsession and so does my husband. We started looking for a good Thai food spot somewhat near the Springfield mall for our Dave and Busters fun! I found this place through Google, the place is a cute clean thai restaurant! The server was welcoming and nice. We started out with drinks and appetizers. This place has canned sodas only. No refills. We ordered the crab Rangoons 100/10, it was so delicious! We ordered basil fried rice, yellow curry and pad see ew! Everything was good and well seasoned! My son introduced me to this restaurant when Springfield. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was excellent. Since I liked it so much I was a second time and order the drunken noodles, which I also liked very much. On both occasions I ordered the sticky rice with mango, and it was great. The food was "just ok" but made me sick later. The staff was good and worked quickly. The place is nicely decorated and is a large place. I ordered a chicken with mixed vegetables. The garlic stir-fry sauce wasn't made properly and was watery and salty. My friend said his pineapple stir-fried rice and shrimp didn't smell right. I didn't taste it, but he said it smelled off. My other friend said her drunken noodles were just ok but not great. Two out of three of us cook Asian food frequently, so we know food pretty well. Crab rangoon was great. The wrapper was crispy, and they were creamy and sweet, just how I like them. The basil fried rice was spicy and fresh. Service was fast and friendly. There were no other customers in the store while we were there, so it was very quiet. read more

My brother and I swing by and this place was located in a strip mall with other businesses. As you walked in the restaurant is clean, spacious, a mural and some decor on the walls. We ordered 2) items: 1) Moo ping with sticky rice 2) Chicken pad Thai 3) We wanted to order dessert but we were informed out of the 7 desserts listed there weren't available because they sold out. They had mango sticky rice but the server stated the mangoes were bruised. So we didn't ordered any dessert. The moo ping (pork skewers) were on point, tender, perfectly grilled served with a small basket of sticky rice. The chicken pad Thai was delicious as well. The restaurant states it closes at 9p but we were told as we walked in that the kitchen closes at 8p. So make sure you called ahead to check their times since it wasn't updated on their website. read more

A little Thai place in a quiet neighborhood. I'm no Thai expert and I'm sure someone who is from Thailand would find things that were wrong with it but overall I would say they do a good job. Things were a bit of the sweet side but that's normal for most Thai places in America. This place is deep in the burb's so if you want more authentic food you will need to drive but if you want a good meal not too far from home. You will enjoy it. read more

I found this place tucked into a local shopping center and regret not finding it earlier! It's small and cozy inside and I knew as soon as I sat down that the food would be good. I tried the Pineapple Fried Rice and it was amazing! It was honestly some of the best fried rice I have had at any asian restaurant (check out my photo of it). You cannot tell what part of the duck it was just left over duck meat the probably shredded in the process of stewing. The amount of duck was so tiny compared to the rice. I came to 29 Pad Thai after receiving a recommendation that this is a good spot for lunch. This is a sister restaurant to 9 Pad Thai, so I was happy to try this place. We ordered the drunken noodle and pad kaprow lunch special, both extra spicy, and a Thai iced coffee. Service was nice, and our food was brought out piping hot. The lunch special is $9.95 and comes with a spring roll, so a pretty good deal. The food was tasty, but everything was very sweet, and not all that spicy, so I'm thinking maybe they misunderstood me when I asked for the food to be spicier. I would definitely return, and love to try their other dishes. read more

This is the second location of this restaurant. The first restaurant is 9 Pad Thai in Springfield on Commerce Street. I was welcomed by a young lady from Bangkok, Thailand. I was told the Padthai was excellent. The restaurant is conveniently located in Saratoga Shopping Center. There is plenty of free parking close to the restaurant front door. My first look at the entry door of the restaurant appeared small. Once inside the restaurant opens into beautiful comfortable décor. The 29 Pad Thai is truly authentic Thai as the owners and cooks are from Thailand. They are doing Bangkok, Thailand cooking. The venue is Modern Bangkok décor. Really nice wood and leather chairs are set at wood grained tables. Everything is super clean. Great menu. Open for Lunch and dinner and they do Take-Out. The food was great. Ordered Spring Rolls served with sweet & sour sauce- Wonderful. The Cashew Chicken (Crispy) came with fried chicken with onions, bell peppers, water chestnut, dry Thai-chili, scallions, and cashew nuts. It was excellent. The 9Padthai comes with stir-fried rice noodles with egg, bean sprouts, red tofu, garlic chives, dried shrimp, cooked in special pad Thai sauce, served topped with crushed peanuts. Amazing! No hostess. No real waiter/waitress. Wanted to order Panang curry at 12pm and they had no rice ready and said I had to wait for 20 minutes for the rice to be ready. Couldn't get my water refilled. This place is in the "soft opening" stage so they do not have their liquor license yet (or I would give it 5 stars) but the food is very authentic. I've been to Thailand and this is one of the few places that I can say "hits the mark" everything tasted great and the service was phenomenal. Tried takeout from here for the first time this week. We were impressed with the depth of the menu and variety of dishes. We tried the pad Thai 29 and pad se ew beef: both were tasty. I may like a slightly wider noodle with the se ew buy all in all they were flavorful dishes. The pad Thai packed a nice crunchy peanut flavor and fresh bean sprouts. This place is in a kind of an out of the way strip mall but the food is worth finding it. The crispy duck basil was very good and the woon sen pad thai was excellent. The restaurant is new-ish and took over from another Thai place. The service is as good as it can be for a single person at lunch time, but perhaps it was just a one-off. I'm kind torn between the portion size. I think there was a good amount of duck, but a little small on the woon sen pad thai. It's good enough for me to try it again. read more

My reason for 4 stars comes down to their mango sticky rice. Ordered takeout last night. It wasn't good this time. The tofu was cooked way too long in my tofu basil and the pad se ew was really greasy. Im not sure what is going on, but regularly it has been tasty. There was only one person working so maybe the cook wasn't paying attention to the meal being prepared. Have had take-out from 29 Pad Thai several times. When they first opened the food was spot on, with nice size portions. Today my opinion of this place changed the food was meh, the portions was not adequate but worse of all the guy taking orders was rude and ill-mattered. The restaurant business is very difficult, but f you want to maintain a good customer based there must consistency in food taste, portions and customer service. We have many options for Thai food in the Springfield/Alexandria, so I'm moving on. read more

Stopped in to pick up dinner on Monday evening. Beautiful decor and open dining room. They have a large picture menu as well as a menu with worded descriptions. I ordered Khao Soi with chicken togo. Soup was still warm after arriving home and ingredients were packaged separately. Added all of the fried chili peppers and boy was it hot!!! Very delicious flavor from the curry to balance the heat and chicken portion was adequate. Saved some for lunch for later in the week and it held up nice! Will be ordering this dish again a ls well as trying other items they have to offer! The waitress that took my order and provided me with the togo order was pleasant and friendly. This is a new Thai restaurant replacing one that i have frequented for years. The interior was freshened, brighten, and opened up. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was really delicious. My partner ordered drunken noodles, i had the crispy calamari basil, we were both happy with our dishes. I'm looking forward to trying more items, especially the signature pad thai. I felt like the heat level was thai appropriate, pretty spicy!
