Delicious and authentic Thai entrees with friendly service. Any germaphobes out there should feel comfortable visiting; this place is spotlessly clean. My friend and I enjoyed everything at an early weekend lunch.

Very wonderful hidden gem Thai restaurant in Springfield. Quiet and clean interior with comfortable seating options - booths and tables. Very friendly staff who checked in with us before the rest of our group arrived, making sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious - at the table we shared dumplings, red curry, crunchy pork belly, and pad thai. The servings were just enough for a hungry belly with no appetizers, with the exception of the pad thai - lots of volume there! Red curry medium spice wasn't too spicy at all, it was perfect. I don't visit this area often, but I am really glad we stopped in to try Thai Ghang Waan!

Stopped here for dinner with my family and it was delicious! We got here around 630pm during a weeknight and it was already packed inside. Located near the Brookfield plaza tucked near Bonchon. We ordered the chicken larb, watercress salad with seafood, pad see ew with beef and duck red curry. Everything was delicious! I loved the flavors of the larb and the watercress salad, citrusy, herby and spicy. Our entrees took a little but I didn't mind me everything was made to order. The dishes were piping hot and overall had great balance of savory and heat. The pad see ew had a great wok flavor. The red curry was tasty, a little spicy from the red curry subtle coconut taste. The watercress salad was my favorite along with the pad see ew. I also want to talk about the vibes inside this restaurant. The aesthetic of the place is amazing and allows you to feel relax and enjoy your meal. If you're in the mood for Thai food, definitely try this place out.

I chose this restaurant because most of our friends were in Springfield Va. Wow what a great find . Had to wait an hour to get out table as we didn't have any reservations . They didn't disappoint us. Food was delicious and just tasty . We were a group of 12 . Pad ka praw pork super tasty. Our meat was a bit dry . Drunken noodles was yummy plus Pad thai was very tasty . Calamari too good so was Dumplings . Our other friends ordered a variety of their curries they just loved it .Please make reservations .

Probably one of the best Thai spots in the area. Everything we've tried on the menu was very good - papaya salad, crispy rice salad, the prawn pad Thai and crispy pork belly were excellent. Staff's very friendly and attentive. It's a great date night spot but definitely make a reservation.

Thai Ghang Waan absolutely blew us away. From the moment we sat down we were treated wonderfully with caring, prompt service. We ordered a few beers and a Thai iced tea (of course) and the bottled beers were served with chilled ice mugs. My group of 5 decided to order a few things and share family style. We ordered the chicken larb, som tum, pork lad na, pork pad see ew, and koh moo yang. All were incredibly tasty and large portions which was a perfect amount to share. We also ordered sticky rice to accompany the koh moo yang which I highly recommend! Dishes were cleared without us having to ask and everyone was super friendly. I will be returning VERY soon.

Walked in to order Carryout wanting to try Tom Yum fried rice - ended up trying a Special "Goong Gleur". (Lightly fried Shrimp & string beans in sweet Asian sauce. Pretty good but a bit greasy. Service was nice and quick. Place is nice.

Small cozy restaurant in a strip mall near Springfield Mall. Went to it for lunch. Been a while since wife had the boat noodle soup and this place has it. The servers are friendly and helpful. Since it is relatively far and hard to get to without GPS guiding. We decided to get a selection to try. We got the Yum Woonsen, Koh Moo Yang (Grill pork strips), Pla Num Pla, Floating Market Noodle (Boat noodle soup) with pork, and Ba Mee Haeng (Dry egg noodles, very well seasoned noodles). The portions are generous and properly seasoned. Only minor miss for me was there is a bit too much raw onion in the Yum Woonsen. If you are looking for a friendly neighborhood Thai restaurant at an affordable price, well worth a drive to Springfield. Would definitely go back to try out some of their other dishes.

We ordered a lot of foods and all of them were good!! After the restaurant renovated, it was so nice, cozy and clean looking. Nice to take your friends or family because all the foods were good portions for sharing. The servers were good service.

This was our first visit to Thai Ghang Waan in Brookfield Plaza (love the retro 60s Brookfield sign at the entrance). Lots to like at Thai Ghang Waan. The restaurant was thoughtfully designed with a door immediately inside the front door, which is great for keeping cold drafts from entering the establishment. Thai Ghang Waan is immaculately clean so we felt kinda bad when we inadvertently tracked in salty brine from the sidewalk outside. They'll have to deal with this for a while because it appears the 10" of snow that fell Monday ain't goin' anyplace soon. Service was excellent. We liked how our friendly, kind and attentive server immediately brought out small plates, chopsticks, spoons and plenty of napkins along with the menus. During our meal, whenever the water level dropped in my glass, our server was right there to provide a refill. I really love that! We started out with an order of the steamed dumplings. The steamed dumplings were oh so delicious, made even better with the accompanying sweet soy sauce. BTW, ever since I had sweet soy sauce for the first time in Doi Moi in DC, I jump for dishes that come with it. Thai Ghang Waan's dumplings might, from appearance, remind you of shumai. For my entrée, I ordered the Phad Thai with pork. It was pretty good with plenty of pork and lots of crumbled peanut. The flavor was not bad at all, but I would have preferred a stronger hint of tamarind sauce. JP ordered the Phad Thai Ra Yong. I think of as Phad Thai Plus, because it was essentially the same as my Phad Thai, except it had (some) crab meat and two giant shrimp. I thought they were crawfish, but they were just unshelled big shrimp with legs and everything. While we absolutely will come back, we do wish they had timed the arrival of our entrees at the table a little better. JP's dish came out nearly 10 minutes after mine. There were no other eat-in customers while we were there, but several people came in to pick up take out orders.

Garlic Lover - Chicken, dinner portion

Thai Ghang Waan is a little hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant serving up authentic Thai dishes as well as some Western favorites. The place is always packed, but the wait isn't too long since the food comes out relatively quick but always hot and to order. The interior is warm and inviting just like their customer service. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The noise level is average, so you don't have to worry about yelling over any speaker system or whispering so that you aren't breaking any still silence. My go-to dish is the garlic lover with chicken. The chicken is tender, the vegetables are fresh, and the garlic flavor isn't overly powerful since I for one would never call myself a garlic lover. The dinner portion is about 50% larger than the lunch portion, but both are at a great price for the quality food you get. Overall, highly recommend trying Thai Ghang Waan out whether you're looking for comfort authentic or Western Thai food.

So chic, not the usual Thai Restaurant interior. The staff were so personable. And THE FOOD is fantastic! I am glad we stopped by and checkout this place. While we were waiting the two ladies beside our table told us that this is one of their favorite places to eat at. And when we had our food, we understand why. It's so fresh, from the meat to the side dishes. I feel like I am back in Thailand. When I was researching on this restaurant, I found out that the chef taught in Bangkok culinary school. That's how I spend many of my days off as a restaurant owner myself. My experience started off on the wrong foot when I was directed to a very small table for one. I politely explained several times that I typically order a substantial amount of food and would need more space. I was told the larger tables were reserved and that tables could be pushed together later if needed. As the meal progressed, a longtime friend of mine who works there came out to say hello. Shortly afterward, tables were combined, apologies were offered, and the experience improved significantly. What left me puzzled was that many of the larger "reserved" tables remained empty throughout my visit. By the time I left around 5:00 PM, they still had not been used. The food was mixed. I came specifically for the Khao Mun Gai, one of Thailand's most iconic dishes. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The chicken was average, the rice was decent, and the accompanying soup lacked depth and flavor. On the positive side, the Crackin' Belly was excellent--crispy, flavorful, and well executed. The Pad Thai Siam Shrimp was solid, and while the Tom Sab soup had good flavor, it was a bit too spicy for my preference. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The space is modern, clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed. Easily one of the nicer Thai restaurant interiors in Northern Virginia. One additional detail stood out. My friend joined me briefly for a toast. I ordered a double bourbon, and he ordered a shot. All three shots appeared on my bill, totaling $45. While not a major issue, it felt like a missed opportunity for hospitality given the circumstances. In the end, my bill was approximately $163 for a solo meal. My biggest takeaway wasn't the food--it was the inconsistency in hospitality. The experience improved dramatically after I was recognized, and every guest should feel welcomed and valued from the moment they walk through the door, regardless of appearance or assumptions about what they may spend. The restaurant has a talented kitchen, a beautiful dining room, and plenty of potential. With more consistent hospitality, this could easily become a destination Thai restaurant.

My friend who isn't typically a fan of thai tea really liked Mae Ornnit's version, because it wasn't that sweet. We also liked the strawberry smoothie! Some of our food favorites were the moo ping with sticky rice as an appetizer. The pork marinade was really good! The crispy chicken with green curry was also delicious. The chicken had a great crisp, and it wasn't an overwhelming amount of green curry. The volcano tom yum dish using Mama instant noodles was a visually stunning dish. It was also tasty, served with a lot of seafood. The Mama cup was repurposed to hold veggies. I kind of wished there were more seasoning or some sauce with the veggies because they were a bit dry, but we mixed it in with the noodles, so no biggie. We devoured the mango sticky rice, that was about $9. We should've ordered 2 of those to share amongst us 4. The mango was perfectly ripe and delicious!!!
