Smoked trout deviled eggs.

Lovely ambiance in the back garden with a fountain and nature trees. We love the happy hour here and the servers are all so nice. Shout out to the deviled eggs with essence of smoked trout and the artichoke dip!

Such a memorable sf restaurant week dinner This restaurant offers so many amazing appetizers that ill be coming back during happy hour just to try them all for ten bucks each(grilled octopus, looking at you) Servers were very smiley and nice and I appreciate that a lot with so many servers being not so warm these days. We sat inside but almost facing their garden which would be great for a warm day with your partner or friend group. Dined for two people and it cost us 130 i think with tip. The place also offers in kind app cashback so that's a win too. Only reason i am giving them 4 stars - please add a couple more mains options to your menu and update it if you can this year

Had a very nice dinner here tonight. Garden seating added to the ambiance of the night. Fried chicken for the win! Petrole Sole was good...for us the fried chicken was so delish. Chopped salad was shared as a starter. Super friendly and attentive service. Great timing... no rushing to move the table along which we so appreciated. Blue Plate is an establishment we will return to over and over again.

Charred Octopus

Very impressed. Restaurant had a wonderful vibe and a beautiful, hidden back outdoor patio. More importantly, the food was outstanding. As was the service. Menu is limited, but honestly that made it even better. We tried to vote every appetizer every single one was great as we're our entrées finished with both Keylime pie and their butterscotch pudding, they both knocked it out of the park, cocktails, and wine list and even nonalcoholic options were wonderful. Highly recommend this place for a date night or a couples dinner or a business meet up. Someplace I might return.

nice place in the neighborhood. We came for happy hour. I want to try coming for dinner. we got the charred octopus and the raclette cheese and mortadella. The key lime pie was actually insane. I should just come here for our it's ridiculous. the octopus was nice and not too chewy. loved the cheese and bread. I think I could drink the cheese. Loved the wine I got and happy hour prices even better.

We've had Blue Plate on our "to try" list for quite a few years and finally decided to stop by for dinner. I'm so glad we did! The food was on point! The interesting thing is we actually enjoyed the appetizers even more than the mains. And yes, we did order the vaunted fried chicken; it was worth having once. The meat itself was juicy and it had a very hard crispy layer, but I felt maybe it needed a touch more seasoning. The ambience reminds me of nice southern food restaurants I've been to in Georgia and the Carolinas. Service was great! We were a bit late for our reservation but they sat us in an even better area than we reserved. We literally booked our next visit before we asked for the check. That's how much we liked it. Give it a try!

Bruschetta

Although the food menu seems relatively scarce, the food has some unique flavor combinations. They have some non-rotating menu items that are the go-to if it is the first time. I visited the restaurant during their restaurant week and happy hour. My party ordered mostly appetizers for happy hour, but also got an order of the prix fixed menu for restaurant week. Everything we ordered tasted great.

Definitely a hidden gem of Bernal Heights! If you're looking for a good plate of fried chicken or a slice of meat loaf that will transport you to your childhood, Blue Plate is the comfort kitchen you've been looking for. Blue Plate is nestled along the bustling Mission St, sandwiched in between a row of many tasty eateries. The service is amazing here, the menu is extensive and will satisfy any southern or comfort food cravings you have, and the ambiance is laidback yet romantic. This place is perfect for a romantic date or a special occasion with friends!

The place gave us a homey welcome feel so unpretentious . The decor the garden the crowd like you don't want to leave . The arancini so good and pork belly matches perfectly the sauce . We ordered the Petra sole, the steak , Octapus and meatloaf, all we said is OMG . Everything is well seasoned this is now my fav restaurant we are so glad we discovered this place

The whole experience at The Blue Plate was truly magical--hands down the best fine dining experience I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the intimate ambiance and the exceptional, gold-standard service. The staff made us feel so welcomed and cared for--it really elevated the entire night. The food was absolutely delicious. Every single plate was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. My personal favorites were the linguine and clams and the fried chicken--both were cooked to perfection. I also have to mention the brochette, which was amazing! This is a 5-star dining experience through and through, and I'm already looking forward to coming back. If you're looking for a spot that nails food, service, and atmosphere all at once--The Blue Plate is it.

This is the spot! Blue Plate's garden ambiance is truly a gem in Bernal. The service is great and the food is comfy yet sophisticated. They also have a great happy hour that I need to try next time.

Outdoor patio

We were here for a dinner. A lot of people dined there, luckily we made a reservation. Tried the meatloaf , the pork belly, & key lime pie, everything was wonderful !! The best meatloaf we've ever had in the Bay Area. Vibe was so chill & cozy. By the way, their outdoor garden was so pretty with all the fairy lights, especially under a good weather.

Grilled Hanger Steak , Macaroni and Drunken Spanish Goat Cheese

Favorite restaurant in SF. Hanger steak , fried chicken , Mac n cheese. All best in the business. Don't forget to get the key lime pie! Inside seating is cozy with perfect lighting and outside patio has a very classy vibe. Last but not least the service is impeccable and could not thank the kind people there enough We love Blue Plate!!

Any low sodium options for someone with high blood pressure?

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed. There is a back garden area, but the only way into the garden is thru the restaurant, so I can understand why they would be a no-no.

We also got the beet salad, which honestly felt a bit like it came from a can and had bottled Italian dressing put on top of it. The people were super nice. Walked in and found the place very nice. You have your bar in front and a combination of chairs and tables throughout the room, with some very nice artwork, atmosphere, and the bathroom tiles were delightful, felt very rustic and modern. There was only 1 worker that day as it was an early weekend, but the service was fast, she was attentive to the patrons that was there and also helped us with only ordering red as we both did not have an interest in drinking white wine. The Charcuterie board options were good, and we got the meat, cheese, and olives (sorry, I forgot which exact ones). It was a great pairing to go with the wine, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their appetizers. Located in the legendary Mission District of San Francisco, this wine bar is a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy small bites and yummy crafted cocktails. Their decor is very chic and I especially loved all of the hardware, glasses, tables, and benches. This place was styled by a great design artist. Even though the place was pretty packed and can be kind of noisy, I still felt very calm amongst all the healthy plants and loved the sophisticated 70s inspired glassware. Another great feature of this place is that you can buy most of the plants because they have some for sale so after a couple of cocktails, I was ready to redecorate my whole house with all the plants. I ordered a yummy Rose blend that was super crisp. Also enjoyed the Truffle Fungi! A delicious Shiitake and oyster mushrooms with parmesan and arugula on toasted bread. Their Spanish inspired potatoes were delicious with their dipping sauce. They have lots of gatherings there and DJ sets on the weekends. Lastly, a photographer would die to take pictures here. There is no bad shot as the design artist made sure every section of this cute wine bar was picture perfect. Loved all my photos and videos. I look forward to returning to this exquisite wine bar!

Charging the $10 event fee on discretion before the posted event start time seems... shady? illegal? My two friends got in a few minutes before with no cover. I was dealing with a bike lock while they went in. We were not there for the event but rather as volunteers from the weekly cleanup refuse crew in the Mission. You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .

This wine bar is hidden from plain view and tucked away in the Excelsior/Outer Mission. Some friends and I discovered this little gem while looking for a place to have a nightcap. Sippin' Wine Bar is located on the second floor of the Bottoms Up Bar, but the vibe is totally different. Not sure if the two bars are actually affiliated, but they are like night and day. The stairs leading up to the bar are lit up and the interior of the bar is just absolutely gorgeous! It's spacious and low lit with an extremely sexy ambience. The decor is just out of this world! They have the cutest tables and sofas. The lamps and artwork are very unique but visually appealing, and the tables are set with candles that create a very sensual vibe. There's a small but adorable little patio where you can relax and get some air. The interior designer deserves a pat on the back AND a few glasses of wine (wink wink). Speaking of wine, they have tons and tons of it! Their selection is extensive and they make it really obvious with all of their lovely wine bottles that are on display. I really enjoyed their Angeline Pinot Noir as well as the Kungfu Girl Riesling. They serve food here as well. We had just come from dinner, but a few of us who shall remain nameless (cough cough) were still hangry and ordered garlic noodles, garlic fries, and tater tots. Yep, somebody's breath was stankin' but it wasn't mine! Although I didn't try any of the food, It smelled wonderful. There was no food left behind, so I'm assuming that it was delicious! The owner Shirley was fantastic! She happily hosted our group and let us sample several different wines from her collection. She mingled with us as well and talked about the business. The bar is still relatively new and opened a little over 2 years ago, so she is still trying to generate more business. I'm hoping that more people will frequent this place because I really enjoyed it and would love to see it stick around. So glad we stumbled upon this spot, and I'm looking forward to many more future visits.

It's quiet enough to have a conversation and get lost in your own thoughts, but not so quiet that you feel awkward sitting in silence. Plus, the people watching was pretty entertaining, which definitely added to the experience. The three of us only tried two different wines. My friend ordered a glass of Masha, while my other friend and I both ordered the Los Chuchaquis. The verdict: Masha was really good. Good enough that a second glass was ordered! As for the Los Chuchaquis, I personally didn't love it. I found it a little too tannic and bitter for my taste. If you have a low tolerance for bitterness, this might not be the wine for you. That said, my friend, who ordered the same wine, absolutely loved it and thought it was delicious. So maybe I just ordered the wrong wine for my palate? ‍ Either way, the wine is only part of the experience. The energy here is fantastic, the bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the crowd was cheerful without being obnoxious, which I really appreciate. I'm not usually much of a night person, but I genuinely had a great time. It was one of those evenings that reminded me how nice it is to get out, enjoy good company, and simply soak in the atmosphere. I'm really glad I took my friends up on their offer to go out. Definitely a 5 star experience for the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. This seems to be such an interesting neighborhood.
