Seafood buffet
Fred K.

They only serve $59 seafood buffet. It's very limited selection though. No prime rib, no crab legs or any crab at all, except crab soup. The positive and where you can make r money back are the raw oyster bar and chilled shrimp. Ate over a dozen! Good salted rockfish and beef brisket. And cheese selection. The other review mentioned mashed potatoes and crab Mac and cheese in buffet - not when I was here. The negative, the host wasn't very attentive and our waitress was no where to be seen at first. Our waitress when finally acknowledged us said her hello and took our drink order (now getting the drinks is another story) and did take away our used plates. The dishwasher wasn't good since so many of their plates were so dirty still. Desserts is just three items. Where is the ice cream! I don't know if I'll come back. Waters edge grill in the main hotel building occasionally has dinner buffets (have to ask) for those seeking buffet dining.

UPDATED 7/2024: Hyatt is trying to up their game at this location. They've ditched the seafood-only buffet (YAY!) and they are expanding their offerings to include more dietary friendly menu options. They are still staff challenged due to worker shortage? But those that are there are very friendly and helpful. With the amazing views to the Choptank River, this should be as packed when they are open as other waterfront venues. As it stands now, it is not and likely hard to get past visitors to return to try it after sad results on a prior visit. I haven't tried the food yet but was there for a work-related happy hour otherwise I don't think I would have returned. Now, it's back on the table as a potential. They have happy hours and live music on Thursdays during the summer months. They will still close for the season. Check their hours.

Spicy margarita came in a large glass. Yum

Ate here tonight for dinner with the family. They were only offering a buffet or 5 crabs as an add on. Buffet was great but $60 and I cant eat enough to get my money's worth, however the food offered at the buffet was varied and delicious. Crab hush puppies, salmon, shrimp, oysters on the half shell, German potato salad, regular "make it your way" salad, maryland crab soup, crab Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, short ribs, and much more. Worth it for those that can eat more than me Had the spicy margarita and it was also delicious. Worth checking out if you're in the area

Cute exterior with oyster tongs and such.

Bottom Line: Nice atmosphere, good food, disappointing service. My husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Hyatt in Cambridge. Being too tired to venture into downtown Cambridge we decided to celebrate at Blue Point Preserve. We walked too and from dinner along the oyster shell trail but on a cold windy evening the complimentary shuttle would have probably been a better choice. The restaurant has the perfect decor for a seafood place - it gives a nice nod to the Chesapeake Bay way of life but isn't overly done. Also, the restaurant offers nice views of the Choptank River. We started with fried calamari which was perfectly cooked. We also received complimentary cornbread which was dry and crumbly, I guess the way cornbread usually is. Our entrees were tasty and included the local Rockfish and the salmon. While the decor was nice and the food very tasty, the service was a huge let down as it was very inattentive and inexperienced. I think a present manager and some coaching could go along way as our server was pleasant but just seemed young and untrained. For a special evening I wish we had chosen a different restaurant. Having dimes at all of the Hyatt restaurants, my recommendation is to venture into town for lunch and dinner.

Christopher's Kitchen is hands down the best restaurant in Cambridge and something you do not find…read morejust anywhere. The menu is really fun and inventive, and everything we tried was excellent. There was not a single dish that disappointed. The craft cocktails were also a lot of fun and clearly well thought out. On top of that, the atmosphere is really romantic, which makes it a perfect spot for a date night. If you are looking for a unique place with great food and drinks, this is it.

The food was delicious, but the rest was a little off. First, the food. We stuck to appetizers:…read moreBrussels sprouts, mac and cheese, and the crab dip flatbread. All were excellent. I particularly liked the sweet corn on the flatbread. We also had cocktails- an old fashioned for me and a mojito for my friend - they were fine. The theme of the restaurant is Edgar Allen Poe, and they just went way too far with the literary idea. The menu was long-winded and confusing. You have to read each item carefully and try to decipher what you'll be getting. For example, the Aristocrat is "a feast for a king or his court, flame-forged angus blend cloaked in American cheese and enthroned upon shattered lettuce...". Huh? Is that a cheesesteak with shredded lettuce? I thought it was absurd and funny. My hangry friend did not see the humor. We both agreed this really good restaurant is doing itself a huge disservice by confusing customers. First rule of selling anything is to make it easy for the customer to want what you're selling. We did ask our server their favorites on the menu. They named a few appetizers and said they mostly stick to the less expensive items. This is supposed to be an upscale restaurant, and I would expect the staff to be well-educated on the food. I don't blame the server for not forking over the cash for a variety of menu items. It's a pricey place. But don't they prepare the staff to answer questions about the food by letting them taste everything? I thought it was standard practice to prepare tasting portions for waitstaff. This restaurant is currently too tied to their theme. With a little editing, this could be a great place. I hope more people give them a chance, offer constructive feedback, and that the management is open to suggestion.

We decided to go to Suicide on Friday evening before attending a marriage conference at the Hyatt…read more We got there pretty early around 4pm. It was quiet and empty. We were seated right away. Our waitress Holly was attentive and knowledgeable. My husband ordered the Suicide Oysters and I ordered the Casino Clams for appetizers. I did not try his but mine were so small I had trouble finding the clam, and they smelled so much like feet. I think I had a different idea of Casino Clams, I was very disappointed. He also said his was nothing to write home about. I ordered the Delmonico Steak, he ordered the filet and we each added a lobster tail. Our steaks were wonderful. Cooked and seasoned perfectly - I'm still thinking about it haha! Our lobster tails on the other hand were so overcooked we had to basically swallow them whole. I ordered the potato of the day which was crazy potato's and the vegetable of the day which was kale -- both of those were ultimately great. Before we got our check we heard the waitress taking care of the table behind us mention dessert -- an eclair to be exact and I convinced my husband to get one -- it was either going to be really good or really bad judging by our experience. I wish I could tell you it was the most fabulous eclair I'd ever had and it made up for the $40 worth of terrible appetizers but that would be a lie :( It was huge, but it was frozen! I took it home to let it thaw out and the chocolate on top was still so thick 6hours later that I couldn't even bite into it. I had to flip it around and eat it with a fork on the side with the pastry. We expected so much more from this restaurant especially for what we paid. I'm not sure we have ever spent that much money at any restaurant for just the two of us EVER. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of my food, I didn't plan to leave a review!

They recently completed their outdoor dining renovation which consisted of a lower covered area and an upper deck with sweeping views of the tred Avon. We opted for the lower seating area as they only had high tops on the upper deck. The top deck also has shade covering. Great view of the river from both locations and we were very comfortable on a hot day due to a nice breeze as well as the fans they have on the deck. Chelsea was our server and she was efficient and personable. We opted for an order of onion rings, crab cake, mussels, coconut shrimp and a Burrata salad. we usually go to Capsize Restaurant by boat and docs clearly is bringing in more people which I suspect is largely related to their location on the river. Our food was mixed with the crab cake being a solid two star with too much filler and poor seasoning, tasted like one of the nasty crabcakes we get in Florida. The coconut shrimp were done nicely but the provided sauce was so hot that it took our guest breath away. My muscles were a solid four star and they mixed in spicy sausage and shrimp as part of the mix and it was very good. The garlic bread that came with it was in my opinion forgettable. The Burrata salad was a solid four star plus as was the avocado crab gazpacho which our guest had as an appetizer. Onion rings were OK but straight out of a box. All in all, I would gladly return especially during happy hour as I suspect they do a very big business.

The staff has always been super friendly, and drinks and food have always come out very quickly. They have very good crushes and their seared ahi tuna is my favorite menu it. It's always fresh and a good cut of tuna. Many times when I order seared tuna at restaurants there is always a section that is extremely chewy but that's never been the case at Doc's. Their wings are also great and popular amongst the group we typically go to Doc's with. If coming by boat, I recommend getting there early to try and snag a slip or spot on the backside as it gets very rough docking in the front or side of the restaurant.

I love a server who doesn't hover but always checks to see if everything is going well. She def rocked! I have been so excited to get on and share how incredible this place is since we left. My husband asked if I wanted to go back, within the week. This is *UNHEARD* of. I don't know if he has ever loved a restaurant so quickly and so MUCH. He's been craving seafood boils for a few days now, so he suggested we go this afternoon. We went around 3-4pm. The crowd was minimal, but still, there were probably 15-20 tables full. It's a nice sized restaurant , about the size of a "pub"/local dive bar. The hostess was really welcoming (no eye rolling or impatience!!). She greeted us with a smile and a kind gesture and promptly sat us in a booth. The entire restaurant was clean, whimsical and smelled like old bay and garlic. Great art and seafood accoutrements all over the walls and booths The music was 2000s R&B and couldn't have been more perfect. Our server was incredible. We were given two very easy to understand menus and a "basket" of popcorn! It tasted like movie theater popcorn , our cups which were paper cups and a paper table cloth which lent to the "crab house" vibe we love so much, "seafood sauce" (mayo based siracha sauce think, with old bay? - it's like a spiced Big Mac sauce), clarified butter, cocktail sauce, gloves, a garbage pail, crab cracker tools and plastic silverware, and wet wipes and bibs (which I used because of course I visited in a white shirt!) After no more than a 10-15 minute wait, we had our boils "Rocked and Tossed" right to the table!! Seasoning 100% covered everything!! We ordered: Freshly brewed, 1/2&1/2 sweet/unsweetened tea. (It was very reminiscent of Chick-Fil-A tea/McDonald's tea...the good kind!) Not overly iced. So delicious!! Husband: 1 combo boil with snow crab legs, sausage and extra corn, (comes with corn and potatoes), garlic seasoning and medium heat. His garlic sauce smelled to die for. Very well rounded, (I tasted it). It had sliced garlic in it and wasn't too salty at all. The medium heat wasn't too hot, but don't take my word for it, get the heat level you like. His crab legs pulled *perfectly*. The sausage was wonderfully Smokey with that crispy/crunchy edge. The corn was tender and juicy, not overly cooked and the potatoes melted like butter. Me: 1 combo boil with snow crabs and crawfish and added hard boiled eggs (also comes with corn and potatoes), "Rocking Bomb" seasoning (old bay, garlic, lemon pepper, Cajun). *I have never had crawfish THIS good in my entire life.* I genuinely cannot describe the euphoria I had with words, but I'll try. They weren't muddy/fishy. They absorbed the flavors so well, yet preserved the firm but tender texture of the meat. They were very easy to break into, just like the crab legs. Nothing got stuck or jammed. The eggs were a balanced addition, soaking up all that awesome flavor. I ate one half way through and the second at the end. Again, nothing was abnormally fishy. Seafood can, at times, taste a little too oceanic. Everything came out piping hot, but not so hot you couldn't tear right into it. Both boils were nice and buttery. We tried using the gloves but ended up tossing them. They have sinks right in the open so it is easy to get up and wash up if you get too messy. (The bathrooms are on the smaller side - with the women being two stalls, and I didn't see any others, so the extra sinks really come in handy). There was a very kind gentleman bussing tables. He was fast and thorough. He was very pleasant to us as we walked by him. Very courteous!!! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Literally nothing was bad. I cannot wait to go back and hope they stay in business for a millennia to come. I believe we found THE best seafood boil restaurant in all of Maryland!!

As I started to eat, I noticed I only received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny loose legs in the bag. When I brought it to the server's attention, the manager came over and tried to tell me that the 2 small loose legs counted as a second cluster. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and making it right, she went back and forth with me in front of my 6-year-old child while attempting to put her finger in my bag to count the 2 little loose legs out to me. I've been coming here for over a year, and I have never received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny legs that would count as a full pound. A full pound should come with 2 full clusters. The customer service and professionalism during this situation were very disappointing. I usually never complain but I felt this was much needed. Unfortunately, this experience has made me decide not to return. Rock and Toss just lost a loyal customer. Don't come here unless you want to get less than what you paid for!
