At times, it feels like the art of great customer service is dead, but Jimmy completely restored my faith. We visited Blue Pointe last night for my girlfriend's birthday, and he made the entire experience feel genuinely special. Jimmy was attentive, caring, funny, personable, and engaging from beginning to end. Before we even had to ask, he brought out a kids' cup with water and a lid. That small, thoughtful gesture immediately showed us how observant and considerate he is. He also gave us fantastic dinner recommendations, and every suggestion was spot-on. Go for the oysters! Quick re-fuel stop on our way to a Naples staycation. We enjoyed a few appetizers including: Blue Hill Bay mussels from Maine, which were large and moist. Steamed Count Neck clams with chorizo, which had a nice chorizo kick. PEI OTHS, fresh fresh and fresh! Tuna Tare Tare, served on rice crackers. Maybe a little too much rice for our liking as it was direct competition for the tuna. Blue Pointe Lager was cold and refreshing. Refined NE nautical decor featuring a wine wall. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the inside is. All of our food was freshly prepared and delicious. Well resented by our friendly server. Our server, Devonte, took great care of us and was very knowledgeable of the menu with great recommendations. Stopped here for something light to eat and some well drinks. They make a good dirty martini that went well with our dishes. This establishment is clean and well kept, very nicely decorated with patio seating . But on a hot day , I'd eat inside. Our server was awesome the day we went in Friday May 16, 2025 around 1:00pm, I forget his name but shout out to him. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we were taken care of. Wry disappointed. Was told the clams were from Boston. Maybe but they had an average flavor profile and a touch chewy. My husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law ate here at 7pm on a Tuesday. It was easy to get a reservation. The place is located in a big shopping center and is a nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We were shocked to hear that they were out of blue point oysters (isn't that their name?) and so early on a Tuesday. Also, they ran out of seafood paella, which my husband and I wanted to order. Waiter was also a bit of a wise cracker. I told him that my husband and I wanted to share 6 oysters, 3 of each kind of oysters and he said, "Thanks for doing the math for me" Oysters were insanely expensive at $3.50 each. Bread was ok, but not my favorite. Oysters were delicious. My mother-in-law and brother-in-law ordered clams on the half shell and they really enjoyed them, but felt the clams were very small. We ordered Chilean Sea Bass, Seafood Risotto, Parmesan Crusted Flounder, and Chesapeake Crab Cakes. It came with a side of blue cheese coleslaw, which was very good and interesting. The Brussel sprouts as a side were delicious. I had them instead of the garlic mashed potatoes and it's the flounder. Minus 1 point for the dead fly on the table and the staff cleaning the floors when we were eating. Minus 1 point for running out of items before the rush of dinner. We sat at the bar on Sunday for happy hour. My first time at Blue Pointe. Mike makes a killer dirty martini. I mean if you can't drink martinis at 3pm on a Sunday, when can ya? Their menu is awesome. I wanted to try all the fresh seafood. So I'm glad the happy hour menu offered some items. The shrimp cocktail is amazing. 6 large shrimps! It's perfect. We also got fresh oysters. Two of each of the oysters they listed. I can't really tell types of oysters apparent but the medium sized oysters weren't to sweet and very meaty. The calamari is ok. We dined here twice while vacationing in the area. The food was consistently great for both late lunch meals. We sat at the bar both times. On our first visit, McKenzie provided great, knowledgeable service with a lot of personality. We always appreciate that. Sadly, the same cannot be said for our second visit; we were really hoping to see McKenzie again, but that was not the case. When asked for our drink orders on our second visit, I requested a Paloma which is a pretty standard tequila cocktail. He was clueless about what it was and I started to offer the guidance, but I could tell it just wasn't going to turn out well. Then when I asked what tequila drinks he's good at making, he seemed confused so I just went with the basic margarita on the rocks with salt. I guess I should've requested it be served in an actual margarita glass. At least when McKenzie made me a pomegranate martini on our first visit, she served it in the appropriate glassware. It's really all the little things that make for a positive, upscale dining experience. As far as menu items, we enjoyed the clam chowder, crab stuffed avocado, bleu cheese coleslaw, blackened grouper bites, blackened swordfish, oysters, crab cake, and miso glazed Chilean sea bass. Oh, and we also got the key lime pie to go. Everything we tried was presented nicely, seasoned well, and tasted fresh and delicious. For our first visit, I'd give a solid 5 stars. Unfortunately, the second visit brought the rating down. Will we return next time we're in the area? Based on the quality of the cuisine, I'd say yes. Came here for a weekday bite to eat and I am impressed. This restaurant is in a shopping center and completely unassuming from the outside. I came in, had a seat at the bar, and started looking over the iPad menu. The bartender quickly greeted me and gave me the happy hour menu. I decided to start with 4 oysters and he gave me the option of a smaller sweeter option or a larger saltier one. I decided to split the difference and ordered a glass of wine while I waited. My wine was at the perfect temperature and my oysters were quickly in front of me with a very delicious cocktail sauce and mignonette. I am not usually a cocktail sauce kinda gal, but I always at least taste whatever is in front of me. Their cocktail had a bit more depth and sweetness and less of the traditional horseradish-y taste than others I've had. The mignonette was lovely as well and paired really nicely with both types of oysters. I ate my oysters QUICKLY and decided to go for another round. I had another glass of wine and tried the calamari as well. It was perfectly crispy, with a light coating and came w,ith a sauce. I didn't care for the sauce but it doesn't even need it. All in all, I had a great experience, the bartender was nice and attentive without hovering, and made sure I had what I needed. This was a perfect setting to relax, have a bite and a drink, and read my book. They also have a cute patio and outside raw bar, which I will likely choose to sit on during my next visit. They offer tastings of sides and appetizers, so don't skip out on those! Overall, this place is average and their service is improper to say the least. The cheese burger I ordered came with no cheese and when the waiter came to get the burger...take to the kitchen to put cheese on it, it was cold and tasteless. Blue pointe was always one of my favorite go to restaurants in Fort Myers. The food has always been spot on. I can honestly say that I will probably not ever go back or recommend it after my last visit. We had a lovely dinner and after we settled our bill we were finishing up our drinks when the server came over and asked if we could free up the table for another reservation. Went there last night. Got there 5:30 in time for happy hour 3-6 (good choice) , $5 wines $2.50/ oysters had 3 kinds all delicious! Happy hour Also has good calamari & shrimp cocktail. For dinner the grouper salad or sandwich is good, my friend & I each had cake crab & lobster bisque, I had the crab stuffed avocado & bisque. Unfortunately the bisque was not great, consistency good but lacked taste don't waste your time! For dessert the French toast bread pudding was AMAZING! We also had the crème brûlée & key lime pie definitely not up to par get the bread pudding. Service was great, everything came out fast and we were not rushed. I would definitely go back!
