3rd time eating here the food was very good, craft cocktail drinks were terrific but on Saturday "High Season" this is a very busy place. Luckily for our 1st and 3rd time eating at Firestone we had a great waiter Joe he provided great service both visits. He must be their premier staffer because he had almost the entire first floor and outside space and although super busy was very friendly plus competent, he made no errors! Unlike our 2nd visit where everything was wrong, food, drinks and no bread brought to the table that waiter whose name I can't remember (we were seated on the 2nd floor) was not attentive also it took forever to find him to tell him about the issues so he could try to correct the issues. I wish the front of the room hostesses were a bit nicer but alas they are not. Not any of our visits this is surprising as all they are needed to do is check reservations. Why 3 women are needed is up to management. We will be back to Firestone but we hope management rewards those that should be rewarded and not keep so many useless employees read more

First time at the Restaurant. Excellent! Been to the rooftop bar a couple times. More on the Fine-Dining side, but just enough for me, as I'm not a fancy person. We tried the Sizzle Dining 3-course Dinner. It was delicious! I had the Pork Chop, and my wife had the Salmon. We were both impressed. Atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was spot on. We sat on the second floor overlooking the bar downstairs. It's cool to watch the tires go around the first and second floor walls. The osso bucco was ok and huge, and the mushroom risotto was very tasty. It did have a good portion of steamed spinach go complement the dish . So we thought, hey, rooftop vibes for the birthday? Sounds cute. We arrived around 8:40 and were immediately seated at the most desirable table in the building--right next to the bathroom. Nothing sets the mood quite like the gentle sound of flushes and awkward eye contact with people in line. We ordered a couple drinks, thinking, "Wow, what a nice start." But plot twist: about ten minutes in, a staff member shows up to inform us they need to take our table. Apparently, the exact two square feet we were occupying were vital to unlocking the dance floor. No warning, no heads-up--just, thanks for coming, now kindly vanish. It's my wife's birthday, so I try to salvage the mess by asking if they'll play her a song. They oblige... for a minute and a half. Literally. They hit play on "Apple Bottom Jeans," and before she could even get low, low, low, they cut to something completely different. Nothing says "special night" like a drive-by DJ set. We cut our losses and went downstairs to Social House, where no one tried to steal our table or sabotage the birthday. It had a better vibe, better music, and shockingly, no eviction notices mid-cocktail. Five stars for the comedy, zero for the experience. Most ridiculous place EVER! I met up w my cousins that I hadn't seen in years and after dinner we headed to downtown FT Myers for drinks. There was 7 of us. We walked in about 9:30 on a Friday night. Kitchen was already closed and told downstairs bar closed at 10(?!?) We went upstairs to see the rooftop bar. It was pretty crowded but we saw a table of 8 leaving and snagged the empty high top. Several areas of seating was already blocked off so other people were also looking for seating. For hubby and I the first round of drinks (1 mixed and 1 beer) was $28 but whatever. We all finished our first round and asked the server to take an order when she informed us the tables were reserved for $500!!! There was not nearly enough seats at the bar for the crowd that was already there. We asked about all the other seating areas and ALL areas -other than the actual bar were all subject to the same $500 feet!! So unhappy about that -but still hoping to visit w cousins.. we wandered downstairs where I saw a whole empty bar with 1 guy -so I sat down. I sarcastically said to the bartender "these aren't reserved for $500 .. right" ya know he had to actually go check??? They ultimately let us sit there but I was not impressed.. the whole vibe was not exactly welcoming. & Not smart business either.. We went to Firestone last Friday the 12th, and the hostess had the worst attitude. We were wanting to go up to Skybar and asked about downstairs and she was acting like it was the most difficult thing in the world to get off of her phone and answer a simple question. All we wanted to know was what's the difference between the Grill Room and Skybar. One thing I will say is that the Mac and cheese was super salty, but once we let the server know, she immediately rectified it with a fresh less salty bowl. The baby carrots were delectable. I finally was able to try Firestone and I have to say I expected a lot more. The bartender was not very friendly or welcoming. I got the sense that he would rather just serve drinks than serve dinner at the bar. I ordered the Ribeye Steak grilled Pittsburgh Style (medium), the Mushroom Ragu, and the Potato Pavé. There is a fine line between charred and burned when comes to a Pittsburgh Style grilling. My steak was definitely over the line. Typically, Pittsburgh style is rare as well, so I think what happened was that the chef was trying to balance The charring with the medium and unfortunately went just a bit too far. The Mushroom Ragu was good, just a little on the sweet side. The Potato Pavé was OK. I was curious because I had not had it before and while the description of it in the menu was accurate; it was nothing special. I will try other steakhouses in the area before I go back to Firestone (if I go back). When one drops $40-$50 on the steak alone it is fair to have high expectations. I have had many Outlaw (bone-in) Ribeye Steaks at Longhorn which were prepared far better than this for far less money for the whole meal. Firestone should be in another league, but they're not. read more

The flavor was on point but it was a little lacking in the presentation and size for a $24 roll We split the Grouper sandwich with a side of truffle fries - really delicious and loved the jalapeño ranch served alongside. They offer a fantastic wine selection and had it not been a Monday, I definitely would've had their version of an espresso martini which is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I am an experienced diner and have previously visited on numerous occasions. My experience includes my wife and two friends, also very experienced diners. We went in Sat night after the TG holiday. The restaurant was not busy, likely the TG hangover minimized the crowd...or others experiences reflect ours. First off, the menu is quite experienced. Not many changes over the years. No specials available. We were greeted timely and politely. Efficient would describe our service experience. Indifference was a bit evident. Each ordered a drink and all were fine. The Watermelon Martini was pretty good. We also ordered a charcuterie board, that is where things went down hill. Came out within two minutes which speaks to the thought behind the board. I think we have to take some responsibility because we ordered the board and did not read or ask questions. Only one type of cheese and hard as a rock. No crustinies, just four straw size bread sticks. Best item on board was ground mustard, just nowhere to spread it. It was the worse presentation we have experienced. I am sensing that they have dumbed down the menu a bit from previously experiences or struggled with their Chef. Interesting enough, three of us ordered Osso Bucco. They said it was the worse they ever had. Dry, overdone, with no sauce or gravy at all to allow for errors in cooking. I had Butterfish which traditionally is excellent. The fish itself and oriental sauce was good itself but served with Bok Choy only, versus the traditional mixed oriental veggies. This spoke to me in terms of dumbing down menu. No complexity whatsoever. The rice was fine. Strange enough, bread for the table was brought after we received meals which speaks to indifference comment. Spent $240 plus tip. The money itself no issue but in this arena, they have to perform better. I judge them on their segment. All and all, to me...they are moving towards mediocrity. It will likely be our last stop there for awhile. Too many competitors doing it well. Almost forgot, we did split a Wedge salad, and it was probably the star of the night. However, in mine, two core pieces were left in salad. A clear sign the expediting the meals is also meeting indifference. Outside of the French Onion soup that I had personally, the food, service and atmosphere were disappointing. No order taken until 9:30 p.m. when we had an 8:30 p.m. reservation. It was a large group and 2 of the 3 tables got it a little sooner but even our beverages (sodas) were not brought correctly and we had to ask for them a 2nd time. The waitress said they were "supposed" to bring them up from downstairs but had not. Whatever. Those who got a severely overpriced steak, said it wasn't good quality, all of them said this. My wife and I don't "drink" but I expect the "drinks" were fine but this place is loud and those sitting at a long table that spanned the 3 booths we had for the event, were dropping plenty of "F" bombs and the music from "downstairs" where the drinks didn't come from was a constant loud pounding with no discernable words. Parking was a bear as well. For sure can not recommend this place. The Waitress was kind and trying really hard and we tipped well but this place is not for us. If you like drinking, confusion and loud filthy language, this environment is for you. Evidently many do. We went down to visit friends in Ft Meyers and as a thank you for being great hosts we wanted to take them to a nice dinner. Firestone was the choice. We got there and waited a moment for our table to be cleared, which was no big deal. We asked what the wait was if we didn't have a reservation we were told they were completely booked. So we expected a busy night. We ordered a bottle of wine for three to share and a beer for the fourth. As we waited for our drinks we noticed how few tables were taken for a booked night. We continued to wait as the server returned to explain the bar was really backed up. (I am not kidding there were maybe 5 tables in total, reminder total effort equaled one bottle of beer, one bottle of wine, 4 glasses.) We decided to enjoy our wine for a moment prior to ordering. Mistake. We watched our server not even look our way or check in again until we flagged down the hostess to grab her to order. Once we ordered, we waited and waited and waited. Listened to the light crowd around us asking about where their meals were or why their meals were cold. We were getting nervous. The server came to apologize for the delay and noticed all of our drinks were about gone. She asked if we wanted another bottle of wine. Now, to be clear the bottle would have gotten us through our meal no problem with timely service. The "Hi, I know we are failing on the service side, you should probably spend more money while you wait" scheme fell flat with us. Thankfully the food came and most of it was hot. My husband's Osso Buco was super hot, he had switched out spinach for asparagus, but they were super soft and he didn't eat them. Our guests split a big ribeye, medium well. They refused to complain to us or servers but watching the effort it took for them to cut said steak indicated a less than tender cut. I acknowledge medium well results in some loss of tenderness, but when you have to lean into it, not optimal. I had the grouper. It was fine, no complaints. It ended up being ok but the overall experience was not great. We don't know the restaurant scene is in the area, but we will not be targeting this location for a repeat. read more

Business in downtown fort myers are just staying to open up and we decided to check out The Firestone. We had the Bao and escargot for apps and I had sushi while Dirk had the steak. We loved the apps but thought there was room for improvement on the mains... Dirk thought his steak was over cooked and for me the sushi was good, nice and fresh but I was overwhelmed with the sauces. The ambiance and the staff is what really makes this place great. I love the historical take on this building and really honoring their roots. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. First time dining here. Took our son here for his 20th birthday this past Friday. Cool vibe, excellent food. Will definitely be back. He got the steak burger which he said was the best burger he ever had. There were only two reasons I didn't give 5 stars (wish I could have done a 4.5): The first was that the steak I had was pretty mediocre for such a high-end place. Everything else we had was great, though, and the cheesecake is one of the best we've ever had. The second reason is that the acoustics are bad and there's nothing to deaden the sound. I never got my water I asked for two times for. We had the duck meatballs and the steak tenderloin skewers for starters. The skewers are a must!
