I really wanted to love these omusubi because they looked fresh and the rice itself was good. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the amount of filling. It had just a tiny bit in the center, with almost all rice. I hope this was just an off day. Usually, the bowl is packed where they have to smush down everything with the lid! I spent about $24 something for THAT?! My husband had surgery last Thursday and even though he was upset with the order, he had to eat it. As he is still healing and I was still working, we could not go back to the store. Meets basic standards, I haven't been in a long time because I think prices have definitely gone up. However, I do appreciate blue poke every now and then. Getting the regular bowl, even sometimes a small bowl, will always make me full. I also appreciate that they sell spam masubis! They make them in the back so it's an additional wait after paying for them, but I thought they were pretty good! We used the self service to order and after 30 minutes we were wondering why it was taking such a long time when there wasn't many people in. Probably 3 of us. When my husband went to ask at first they couldn't the ticket and after throughly looking they found it. If my husband doesn't go ask, we could've been waiting forever. They didn't apologize, didn't offer anything such as a free drink, free bowl. This is unacceptable. They should've asked us if they see us sitting here waiting for our food and they probably noticed we hadn't received it. Moral of the story, skip the double points and order with them to avoid having them skip your order. Customer service should improve- offer a free dessert, drink, bowl, something. read more

Come here often. Today the mark was completely missed. Paid $38 for 2 poke bowls, not given any chopsticks, forks or napkins even though we asked for some. I used to go here a lot a few years ago but disappointed with my recent experience here. The food is already overpriced, but also the customer service could be better. When I walked in, the employee didn't greet me, didn't smile, and didn't even ask, "How can I help you?" They just stood there waiting for me to start the order. Good customer service starts with basic courtesy. A simple greeting and acknowledgment go a long way in making customers feel welcome. Management should spend more time training employees on providing quality customer service, especially when customers are paying for those prices. Really disappointed with this one. Normally this place is pretty good, but I'm not sure what happened this time. I ordered two 3-scoop bowls to-go and both were a big miss. The texture of the white rice was really dry and crumbly, almost like it had been sitting out for a while. On top of that, the portions of protein were extremely minimal for a 3-scoop bowl. Most of the ahi I received were the tougher pieces with muscle fibers, making it really chewy and hard to eat. Honestly, it felt like we were given the leftovers or the very last of what was left. It also seemed like the lack of protein was made up for with extra filler ingredients like carrots and edamame. Long time fan of this place but the two young guys working today sucked. Totally clueless/confused with managing orders and it wasn't even busy. I placed an order almost four hours ahead of time and when I arrived I was told it would be ready in fives mins but it was ready the whole time in the end. I witnessed other customers waiting and the line getting backed up way more than what I've seen in the past. Maybe I'm a tougher critic than most because I'm a manager myself, but the experience today wasn't cutting it for me at least compared to my prior experiences with this place. read more

I used to order from blue poke every week for years but then stopped when I discovered Poke Chop. Today I decided to give blue poke a try again and their quality has gone so far down hill. The bowls used to be so full to the brim that the lid would barely close. Now I get a couple spoonfuls of fish for my 4 protein bowl? Half the bowl was seaweed salad tf? Poke Chop costs the exact same but with four times the fish and better rice. Yeah, I'm never buying from you guys again. read more

Staff has an attitude. I really don't get how they're the best poke. Their self checkout when you pay cash doesn't even alert you to go to the front counter supposedly how the rude lady said but they hadn't even came up to us to tell us that we need to pay first before she makes it until like about 15 minutes later. My comfort food is poke and this place is honestly my favorite in all of california (i've yet to visit hawaii!). What stands out to me is the abundance of different toppings that can tend to be hit or miss depending on what kind of poke place you go to. Specifically, I enjoy that blue poke has pickled cucumbers (cucumbers soaked in vinegar) which I believe adds an extra layer of flavor to the poki that I really enjoy that other places don't offer. I've been to a lot of poke chains, (1 and half, poke chop, and more) and blue poke is my favorite. Also, they have rewards which means for poke enjoyers like me we can get lots of perks. Also the national city location specifically has better service than the north park one. read more

My wife got the Double Salmon bowl--she thought it was just okay. Compared to the Liberty Station location, the portion sizes here felt noticeably smaller, which was a bit disappointing. The rice was decent, nothing special. That said, the customer service was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. First made the drive down to Blue Poke for a Yelp event, but came back a few times when I found myself in the area. There are a few other blue pokes that have since opened closer to central San Diego with one in North Park, but I think the quality varies from location to location- this location in National City being the best! First of all, the design of the store is so fun and I could tell it was clean and well maintained. I had a delicious poke bowl with my favorite spicy ahi (minced style). They have a good number of toppings to choose from along with great sauces. This is what I like to call "chipotle style" poke where you build your bowl, but everything was good! How do you call this a poke place when you get more side ingredients than poke? Coming from a Hawaiian

I recently just made an online order and picked it up and it is completely wrong. As you can see in the picture- one bowl is supposed to be spicy chicken and shrimp but there is salmons/spicy poke in both. One of the bowls isn't supposed to even have spicy mayo... if you compare both bowls to the receipt you can see it's completely off. When I came in I didn't appreciate the fact that they were hiding too and laughing in the corner knowing there is a customer. It was 2 guys and 1 girl and the girl told me "oh we also didn't have white rice so we used brown rice " like I did an online order and provided my information so they could've called me instead of doing it... I said it was okay to be nice but now looking at the bowls and seeing how small the portions are as well on top of the order being wrong is not acceptable. I am not the type to complain but spending $40 on something I didn't even order is not worth it. Mind you it was not busy at all so I don't understand how they messed up especially if there is 3 of them. Service is fast! Parking is good! The food is always yummy. The inside is aesthetic, so feel free to dine it. I've taken friends here before. One friend commented that he feels cold inside so maybe pack a jacket if you get cold easily and plan to dine in? But the place has to be chilly to ensure the fish stays fresh. I love blue pokē. Decided to order take out from Blue Poke one day. Best decision I made that day. I ordered a pair of bowls and both were fresh and delicious. I liked all the add on options for the poke bowls, especially the fried wontons. It's a nice contrast to the poke and other places don't offer that option. The interior of the restaurant is really clean and filled with art that is specific to San Diego. I felt it was an SD original establishment. The service was on point. I did arrive a few minutes early, but the staff kindly informed me my order was not ready yet. When it was ready they called me and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Overall, a great place. The scoops of the overall sides like the avocado and imitation krab, which you pay extra for, were also incredibly small. In the picture, the proteins are circled and that's all there were to it.
