Sister took me here as she is local. The poké here is pre-made with the sauces. We ordered quickly, but if you wanted something they didn't have it took awhile. We did skip the salmon poké because we didnt want to wait. The process is fast. The ambience is basic. It's fast food but fresh seafood. It's a nice place. We liked it.
This is hands down my favorite poke spot and one of my go-to places in town! I come here all the time and they never disappoint. The poke is fresh, flavorful, and honestly one of the best values you'll find. I love that it's family-owned too you can feel the care they put into both the food and the service. The vice is super homey feels I love it! Reminds me of a spot on the island where only locals know about it's perfect The spam musubi is sooo good, and if you haven't tried the banana lumpia yet, do yourself a favor and order it. Trust me. Great food, great people, and great prices. This place deserves all the love. I'll keep coming back again and again!
While in San Diego, I had to check out Poke Etc. I decided to build my bowl and go with the Spicy Mayo and Ahi Limu. I throughly enjoyed the meal, especially the Ahi Limu. For the sides, I did do half rice and seaweed salad but do wish that the seaweed was bigger because it was in a pretty small cup. The staff were nice and I thought that the interior was lovely with Hawaiian tote bags and various items. Whenever in I'm in San Diego, I would stop by again but go with double rice instead.

They had an extensive menu and an option to customize your meal. We both ordered and waited about 15 minutes for our food. My sister and I ordered the chicken katsu with poke and it was so delicious! We both got spicy salmon which costed extra. I wish there was more poke but it was still good. The chicken katsu and sauce were also good. Will definitely come back whenever I'm in SD!

The poke was bombbb!Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! Food review: Ohana special: (4/5) This was pretty good! Wasn't a huge fan of the pork, but the chicken was delicious. I ordered a small side of spicy mayo poke which I ate in the car and immediately ran inside to buy a 1/2 pound of it haha. Spicy mayo: (5/5) Delicious. Melt in your mouth. I devoured this. Shoyu: (3/5) This wasn't my favorite, the texture was too slimy and weird. Definitely like the spicy mayo the best.
The Poke Princess told me this is the best poke spot around, and after trying the creamy wasabi, sweet ginger, and briny kimchee - I have to agree. SERVICE Staff behind the counter were super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about their menu and offerings. AMBIANCE The interior is casual, has plenty of wood chairs and tables to dine in, and is decked out with Hawaiian decor, treats, drinks (Uji matcha from Kyoto, Hawaiian juices, Thai tea), snacks (matcha Kit Kat). This place is poppin' with a constant stream of customers.
A lot of people on social media recommended this spot so I finally tried it, and never again. The texture, fish quality, and flavors here just don't compare to another nearby poke spot. I've had poke in Hawaii and my brother fishes tuna so I've had fresh tuna caught from the ocean and made into poke the same day. Fresh, high quality tuna should be dark reddish, not pink. It's like they drown their tuna in so much sauce to hide how pink their fish is. The texture is strange, it's not smooth and doesn't melt in your mouth. I had the spicy mayo, shoyu lima (so bland), spicy, and spicy garlic tuna. I started getting a bad aftertaste in the spicy garlic one, as if it was going to go bad. They don't offer samples and if they did, I wouldn't have bought any poke and just left with a spam masubi since I drove all the way there.

The salmon and tuna had an odd texture, and my bowl was almost entirely salmon skin instead of actual salmon. I also ended up with a decentttt tummy ache both times afterward, though everyone reacts differently.... The flavors are still good, and if you enjoy this place, definitely give it a try. For me personally, I just don't think it lives up to the hype anymore, especially for the price.
Stepping into Poke etc. you feel like you're back in Hawaii. The decor and merch just transports you back. They have a huge menu but we were there for the poke. We ordered salmon poke and apparently they up charge for salmon. No worries, salmon is a premium item. We ordered two plates and they came with different options. I got the rice and seaweed salad. The salad was a little underwhelming but oh well. The poke was non the less delicious and fresh. The guys behind the counter were patient and friendly. Thanks for dealing with my indecisiveness and first time energy. Overall, a great spot for poke and your other island dishes. I definitely have to try their kalbi and other dishes.
the food here was so yummy! brought the poke bowls to the beach to eat and the flavor was still so good. the fish was such good quality too, being perfectly soft and there's no strong fishy taste either even after eating it after letting it sit during the drive. the shoyu salmon and spicy salmon were so delicious but my favorite is probably the spicy one with the masago in it. the portions are perfect and could honestly share with 2 people if eating other foods too. the service was great. the worker helping me at the front was very kind and easily answered all my questions. the store is so fun as well being well decorated and having so many things to buy in terms of merchandise, drinks, or snacks. would definitely come back if i was in the area.
Went to Poke Etc to get spam musubi. However this time while my husband was eating his food when he bit down almost halfway done, we heard a loud hard pop from inside his mouth. Then immediately stopped eating and spit out the food. It was a sharp looking piece of what appears to be glass or a hard sharp plastic mixed in with the spam. This was extremely dangerous he currently feels discomfort in his mouth. We tried calling the restaurant to give a heads up on what happened, but they wouldn't answer and the mail box is full. We are currently keeping this for evidence and the packaging. Leaving this review for customers to check what's on the food. You shouldn't have to worry about having foreign objects while eating. Not sure we will be coming back truly upsetting because we really like this place.

I've also had their BBQ Beef Ribs and they were tender and flavourful. When you enter, you can pick up drinks and sides from the coolers as you wait in line to order. They have many flavours of Hawaiian Sun. You order at the counter and then pick it up when they call you. There's a good space to dine-in the interior gives a bit of a Hawaiian vibe. The staff are friendly and helpful. Try this place if you are craving for Pokes and Hawaiian dishes.
Pretty good for poke! This is located in a pretty ghetto area so just be aware... but you can see a huge crowd of people coming here to eat. I think what really stands out was the price. It was basically $13 for their ahi tuna poke bowl and I would say it's pretty filling. The poke was super fresh. You really don't taste any fishiness and the fish pieces were really tender. My only knock was that the ahi tuna one can be very soy heavy, like to the point it's too salty. I'll probably try the salmon next time around.
Pretty good poke.. I loved sweet and spicy the best.. Next time I will get double scoop of rice.. Customer service was great.. everyone there is friendly and very much aloha spirit. Finally got to check this place out after seeing all the hype on IG. It's quick service and mom and pop style decor. There's items from the island around the restaurant for sale if you miss having it from your travels. By being quick service and waiting in line, you can't see the menu variations until you're at the front of the line. Having to skim to poke options while everyone is waiting behind you can get very overwhelming to see the variations and add ons. The variety in the menu items are good, but the portions compared to other local poke spots are a miss for me. read more

With all due respect for a smaller business, I can't help but say that this place was incredibly disappointing. I got the poke salad with salmon ~$18 total for a bowl of greens and enough spicy mayo salmon to fit inside a 4oz container. The poke salad is around $15, and apparently the default fish is tuna. An extra charge to get salmon is $3, which is understandable, but what ISNT understandable is that the $15 ONLY included a mix of salad (romaine, arugula, three cherry tomatoes, a couple cucumber slices). No fish. An extra $3 for salmon, and so you essentially pay $15 for a box of salad. read more

No regrets that we ended up at Poke Etc for our lunch. Ordered: Pork Katsu with macaroni salad. Golden, crunchy breading but juicy and tender cutlet. You can ask for extra sauce for $1. The sauce is on the salty side so taste test before pouring over katsu. Spicy Mayo Poke (1/2 lb). Still the same Poke that I'm always looking/craving for. Highly recommended! Busy but service is quick. Only waited about 10 mins. Great welcoming Hawaiian vibe. It's lunchtime so be prepared for pack parking. read more
This place recommended to me a few years ago and I guess it got lost in my yelp bookmarks. I was in the area and decided to finally check it out. The seating area inside is quite spacious. They have some quick bites and drinks by the front. Looks like lots of options besides Poke. I told the employee it was my first time and he very kindly explained the poke bowl sizes and some other options and offered some of the most popular items. I decided to keep it classic with spicy salmon poke bowl. I am so glad I finally tried this place. The amount of food for price was pretty good. $15 but now a days everything is a bit steep. I'll be back to try other stuff. read more
Hands down the best poke in all of San Diego County. It's worth noting that my husband and I have never had a single bad thing off the regular food menu either. Our favorite pokes are the spicy mayo salmon, spicy garlic tuna, and shoyu tuna. Poke portions are fair to generous depending on who's behind the counter scooping. We also love the lechon and the lumpia and all of the chilled sides. The salad is also an incredible option for poke and is huge. Dressing is light and sweet! Ambiance is very down to earth Hawaiian, mom n pop. Service is quick and you order at the counter and then sit and wait for your order to be called. Service is solid and always professional. We were regulars here after living in Kearny Mesa and discovering this place about 4 years ago. Wish we'd discovered it sooner now that we moved up to Escondido. Our hope is that they open additional locations, but even if they don't, we'll remain loyal customers and make the trip down to National City. read more

This place has been going viral and I had a personal recommendation from a friend to try this place. I ordered the garlic salmon (extra $) and spicy tuna plate. Comes with either double rice or rice and seaweed. The flavor was great and the fish was so fresh. Service was extremely quick and friendly, the guy behind the counter explained everything and walked me through their poke bowls and flavors. Would've loved to see a little bit more in the portion size. If I could, I'd give this place a 4.5/5. read more
Dear diary, I was craving some Hawaiian food and my boyfriend took me to this place that he love. I was surprised at the restaurant when I walked in. Other than food, there were so many more Hawaiian snacks and trinkets sold there! I got to say it is definitely vibrant in there and more of a cafeteria vibe where you order and pick up your food and find a seat. I got the calamari daily combo that comes with rice and salmon and he got the aloha combo with tuna. The poke was fresh and the flavor was great. We also got a spam masubi which in my opinion was lacking some sauce but the saltiness of the spam makes up for it so I didn't mind much. The service was great. The food came out quickly and they were packaged where you can eat there or take it to go. Nothing to complain about. There are also a great amount of parking and seatings so you wouldn't have to go through the trouble of waiting. Can't wait to return to try their other combos. read more
Yelp led me here on a Sunday afternoon, and out of curiosity for their poke, I made the 15-minute drive from Hotel Circle. The parking lot was nearly full when I arrived, which I took as a good sign. Walking in, I was surprised at how large the space was. I spotted bags of dried salted plums and grabbed one before heading over to the poke counter. I was initially torn between the ahi garlic spicy, ahi limu, and spicy mayo ahi, but ultimately went with one pound each of the latter two. I usually like my poke with salad and taro chips, but this time I decided to try their kimchee instead. The spicy mayo ahi was enjoyable, with a good balance of flavors. The ahi limu, however, was just okay -- the fish was firm and chewy to the point where I became oddly aware of every cube. For me, mouthfeel is everything when it comes to raw fish, so this was a bit of a miss. The kimchee was tasty, but not a great value at $2.50, it barely filled a quarter of the container. The dried salted plum (crack seed) was another big miss. It seemed old and was rock hard, it crunched when I bit into it. I ended up throwing it away. Overall, a mixed experience that didn't quite meet expectations, and unfortunately not somewhere I'd return. read more
I came here by chance as the restaurant we were intending to visit was closed. I am happy with what we found here however. They have a fairly large menu, mostly Hawaiian but I saw Salmon Belly Sinigang so it appears they serve some Filipino food too. The poke we got was super fresh- my favorite was the octopus (tako) poke. The beef ribs and pork belly we got were super tasty. There were a bunch of tables for dining in and we were able to find a seat very easily. I would gladly come back for another lunch visit. read more
Poke Etc. is a very reliable poke establishment down in National City. The flavor offerings are always great - from spicy mayo, shoyu, sweet & spicy, kimchi to tako. They serve really great mac salad on the side as an extra or seaweed salad if you wish. If you're lucky and come in on certain days when they make their baked mochi goods those are a great delight! Service is always friendly and efficient. It can feel a bit busy sometimes depending how long the line is but that shows how popular Poke Etc. is! My only criticism is that the fish can feel pre-frozen and maybe not as fresh compared to other places I have tried or when I have been to Hawaii where it is extremely fresh from the ocean. But their flavors and for the most part the quality has always been great every time I have visited. read more
Influenced by IG to visit this spot. I decided to check this place out on the last day of my SD trip. The place itself has such cute decor. Lots of colors and flowers. There is a designated line on the right side to order. Honestly, if it's your first time, you will need some extra time deciding what to order. Menu has so many offerings to choose from. They have fresh poke as well. I ordered the spicy mayo salmon and spicy mayo tuna. Apparently the salmon is extra charge. They do ask you before they charge you. Also, had an option to do double scoop of rice or one scoop of rice and 1 scoop of seaweed salad. The fish was well mixed and yummy. The seaweed salad could be a little bit more in the cup. Fast service. Happy staff. Busy workers constantly restocking and cleaning tables. Better than Hawaiian Fresh Seafood Liberty Station in my opinion. Can't wait to go back to try some of their other items or new location!! read more
Call me dramatic, but I cry every time I think back on this meal. Of all the poke I've tried in my life this is by far THE best one ("it's opinions based!"). The salmon was buttery soft and I don't know it's just too good. I love me some crispy pork belly so couldn't go wrong with that. The interior is very nostalgic so it felt cozy. The lines get pretty long though so be prepared to wait a bit but no complaints here. There are also a good amount of tables but due to the volume of customers they get filled up pretty fast. I so recommend trying this place though if you're in SD. It's one of the few restaurants that I think is worth the wait. read more

We came here to try the poke - and the hype is real and worth it! They were delicious and have a lot of great selections to choose from. My personal fave was the wasabi. They also have a menu for hot plates and most of them are my favorite comfort food so we decided to order. Yes, their menu is for everyone and will satisfy any craving. The portions are generous. It because a full on feast and I would do it again! Most of all dining here feels like home, everyone was so nice, friendly and it feels just like so chill and free flowing. Do not skip their merch and drinks, especially the Mac Salad that's perfect with everything. read more

This place is good, maybe a little overhyped, but still good. I really like their food, especially the Hawaiian Cali Poke and the Spicy Mayo Salmon. The Garlic Tuna was decent too. The only downside is the staff. I know cats don't talk, but if they did, that's probably what the customer service here would sound like. Also, if you call an hour before closing for pickup, don't expect them to answer. read more
I've been coming here for a few years now. The food is always consistent in flavor and service is always friendly and fast. The food comes out between 10-15 minutes or less which is a win for me My favorite thing to order is the Island Bento which consists of the teriyaki chicken, pork tonkatsu, and your choice of a side of poke around 1/2 cup of it. This time around I ordered the spicy mayo salmon and it was sooo delicious! The cube of salmon is just the right size and hold so much flavor. The chicken teriyaki is super tender, and the pork tonkatsu is crispy, hot, and fresh. Ambiance is very casual, great for families. I always come here whenever I'm craving poke or Filipino. Their canned Thai tea is also the best! read more

I got to try a variety of items -- some of their poke along with several hot plate dishes like the loco moco, chicken katsu, lechon, and more. Everything was good, but my favorite poke flavor has to be the spicy garlic one. I like how big their poke pieces are, very satisfying. I also like that they offer a great variety of sides to go with your meal: pickled radish, seaweed salad, kimchi, mac salad, and more. It really balances everything out. They also have a fridge fully stocked with unique drinks like bubble tea, flavored green teas, and canned coffees. The owners are incredibly friendly and genuine. They make you feel right at home and clearly care about their customers. You can tell they put a lot of heart into their food and service. This is the spot to be if you're in the mood for poke and comfort food. read more

This is a small unassuming place. Colorful decor. Service is fast, but friendly. The menu is pretty straightforward. I love that they have an option to just get the poke/fish (by the pound). When we get home, everybody gets to add exactly what they want on their poke. Oh, and for big orders, you get their tote for free! read more

They serve more than just poke here, including Hawaiian breakfast and lunch plates. Most items seemed affordable but the menu should be updated to reflect price changes, as some items ordered were charged higher than what was listed. For poke, if you choose salmon or tako, it's an additional upcharge. I ordered a plate that came with a small side of poke, and the upcharge was $5 and some change for salmon. Upcharge is fine but for the amount given, it was not worth it at all. Nothing exceptional with the poke flavors. It's good but not worth the trip down to National City for when there's other, better poke shops in San Diego. read more

Best poke in San Diego! Service is amazing as always, I always come here for food. Today, I came right after Sun God festival at UC San Diego and arrived around 15 minutes before closing. Of course, since the service is super duper amazing, they got me what I wanted very quickly. Although the texture of every bite of poke varies, I don't really care because the service is good and the flavor is good too. If you can't tell already... this is my favorite spot. I honestly can't even count how many times I've been here each week! Lately I've been totally stuck on the wasabi and spicy garlic salmon - they're addicting. This place had been on my radar for a while, and now that I've finally tried it, it's been hard not to keep coming back. I'd say it's definitely in my top two poke spots! I can't even rank them because this one's just as good as the other place I love. You really can't go wrong with anything on their poke menu; I've practically tried them all at this point! I finally grabbed a few extras this time - the Spam Musubi and the Chocolate Orange KitKats I always see by the register. The chocolate was so good!! I love anything orange-flavored, and the musubi hit the spot, too. Definitely worth grabbing if you've been eyeing them! I still need to explore the rest of the menu - especially the spam musubi, but I'm always too full by the time I leave. The mac salad is a solid 8.5/10, and I always get double rice - never misses. The customer service here is great, too. Everyone's super friendly and helpful. When I was using my scooter recently after an injury, they even offered to carry my plate -that small gesture meant a lot. The place is easy to get into and handicap accessible, which I really appreciated. Can't speak for the restroom though; I noticed stairs and didn't check it out. By far, one of my favorite Poke spots!! The food itself was amazing and so flavorful. The fish chunks were big and the portions were also very generous. I came with my sports team, and the staff pushed out our orders very quickly. So sad this place is far from home so I will definitely come back when I am in town! When you walk in, you line up and order your food. Then you find your own table if you are dining in. There are plenty of tables so that shouldn't be a problem. My sister and I visited on a Friday evening around 4:30PM for an early dinner. I ordered a Create Your Own Bowl with Wasabi Tuna and Spicy Mayo Salmon ($15.55+$3.07 upcharge) and a Lychee Lilikoi Hawaiian Sun drink ($2.34). My sister also ordered a Create Your Own Bowl with Spicy Garlic Tuna and Spicy May Tuna ($15.55), a Lychee Green Tea Hawaiian Sun drink ($2.34), a Large Macaroni Salad ($3.07), and one of the insulated bags that they were displaying on the shelf ($9.31). The bag was kinda pricey as it probably costs $1 in Hawaii, but my sister is a sucker for cute merchandise and supporting mom and pop shops. I would skip the macaroni salad as it was extremely bland - No flavor whatsoever; a little salt would've gone a long way. I originally wanted the octopus, but they were all out when we visited. All the flavors we ordered were delicious. We would rank them in the following order: wasabi tuna, spicy garlic tuna, spicy mayo salmon, spicy mayo tuna. I just wish there wasn't an upcharge for the salmon. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant. The interior is outdated, but gives off local Hawaii vibes. There was a steady flow of customers while we there. A good mix of dine-in and take out. A lot of the patrons seemed to be returning locals which is always a good sign. The service is friendly enough. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall parking lot. Note, the area is a little dodgey so be aware of your surroundings. read more

Place is located in a shopping strip w other businesses and lots of parking. 100% Hawaiian Poke. Service was above and beyond. Even though they didn't have ready a Poke Limu that we wanted they made it on the spot. We ordered two different Dishes of Poke of Salmon, Ahi and Octopus. Both dishes came with rice and Seaweed Salad. Each dish was a great price of $15. Flavor was like having Poke in Hawaii. Delicious! Poke is also sold by the pound here and no need to make long lines for Fresh Poke. We ordered to go but they alao had tables to sit down.
