Definitely my favorite poke place! My sister and I arrived around 1pm on a Saturday. It was pretty busy but there were some empty tables. They had an extensive menu and an option to customize your meal. We both ordered and waited about 15 minutes for our food. My sister and I ordered the chicken katsu with poke and it was so delicious! While in San Diego, I had to check out Poke Etc. I decided to build my bowl and go with the Spicy Mayo and Ahi Limu. I throughly enjoyed the meal, especially the Ahi Limu. For the sides, I did do half rice and seaweed salad but do wish that the seaweed was bigger because it was in a pretty small cup. It's like they drown their tuna in so much sauce to hide how pink their fish is. The texture is strange, it's not smooth and doesn't melt in your mouth. I had the spicy mayo, shoyu lima (so bland), spicy, and spicy garlic tuna. I started getting a bad aftertaste in the spicy garlic one, as if it was going to go bad. I got the poke salad with salmon ~$18 total for a bowl of greens and enough spicy mayo salmon to fit inside a 4oz container. The poke salad is around $15, and apparently the default fish is tuna. An extra charge to get salmon is $3, which is understandable, but what ISNT understandable is that the $15 ONLY included a mix of salad (romaine, arugula, three cherry tomatoes, a couple cucumber slices). Hands down the best poke in all of San Diego County. It's worth noting that my husband and I have never had a single bad thing off the regular food menu either. Our favorite pokes are the spicy mayo salmon, spicy garlic tuna, and shoyu tuna. Poke portions are fair to generous depending on who's behind the counter scooping. We also love the lechon and the lumpia and all of the chilled sides. The salad is also an incredible option for poke and is huge. Dressing is light and sweet! Yelp led me here on a Sunday afternoon, and out of curiosity for their poke, I made the 15-minute drive from Hotel Circle. The parking lot was nearly full when I arrived, which I took as a good sign. Walking in, I was surprised at how large the space was. I spotted bags of dried salted plums and grabbed one before heading over to the poke counter. I was initially torn between the ahi garlic spicy, ahi limu, and spicy mayo ahi, but ultimately went with one pound each of the latter two. I usually like my poke with salad and taro chips, but this time I decided to try their kimchee instead. The spicy mayo ahi was enjoyable, with a good balance of flavors. The ahi limu, however, was just okay -- the fish was firm and chewy to the point where I became oddly aware of every cube. For me, mouthfeel is everything when it comes to raw fish, so this was a bit of a miss. The kimchee was tasty, but not a great value at $2.50, it barely filled a quarter of the container. The dried salted plum (crack seed) was another big miss. It seemed old and was rock hard, it crunched when I bit into it. I ended up throwing it away. Overall, a mixed experience that didn't quite meet expectations, and unfortunately not somewhere I'd return. read more

My only criticism is that the fish can feel pre-frozen and maybe not as fresh compared to other places I have tried or when I have been to Hawaii where it is extremely fresh from the ocean. Also, had an option to do double scoop of rice or one scoop of rice and 1 scoop of seaweed salad. The fish was well mixed and yummy. The seaweed salad could be a little bit more in the cup. The lines get pretty long though so be prepared to wait a bit but no complaints here. There are also a good amount of tables but due to the volume of customers they get filled up pretty fast. If you can't tell already... this is my favorite spot. I honestly can't even count how many times I've been here each week! Lately I've been totally stuck on the wasabi and spicy garlic salmon - they're addicting. I love anything orange-flavored, and the musubi hit the spot, too. Definitely worth grabbing if you've been eyeing them! I still need to explore the rest of the menu - especially the spam musubi, but I'm always too full by the time I leave. The mac salad is a solid 8.5/10, and I always get double rice - never misses. The customer service here is great, too. Everyone's super friendly and helpful. When I was using my scooter recently after an injury, they even offered to carry my plate -that small gesture meant a lot. The place is easy to get into and handicap accessible, which I really appreciated. Can't speak for the restroom though; I noticed stairs and didn't check it out.
