Only got the Buco Pandan since I found this place accidently and had already eaten. It was so good. Bright and flavorful. They seemed busy and all the food coming out of the kitchen looked great. Want to come and try the rest sometime.

the garlic rice was amazing and super flavorful. both plates were good but the fried chicken and fries were not as crispy as I would have liked. you order and then take your number to any table, then they will bring it out to you. it does get busy on the weekend so make sure to get there early!

We wanted a change and support Small business and I found this "chibugan" in National City. We entered. Ordered our usual food on the counter: Crispy Pork Kare Kare, Isdalog (fried milk fish, fried egg over rice) and tortang talong. The food tasted so good. The Tortang talong has that smoky taste from being grilled, peeled and fried in egg. The milkfish was perfectly seasoned. My Husband loves kare kare and he gave it a big thumbs up! I love the authenticity of the food and how it just presents the "taste of Filipino food." Simple and Tasty. The service is top notch! Tables and chairs are well placed strategically to allow more customers to come and enjoy the food. When we came there were a few people in already and enjoying their food already. They are also open for big parties. I hope you find this review helpful. I know you'll love it too!

In fairness, the ambuance gives you a nostalgia of being in the philippines with the typical street sari-sari store (convenient store). Love the concept. The food is good!! It's been a loooong time that I have not eaten "tinapa" (smoked milkfish). It satisfied my cravings. Their kare kare is good too... but it will be best if it's ox tail. It was chunk beef, not bad though, cyz it was tender. My husband is satisfied with the tocino and bibingka. The place was packed. Suport local small businesses. I will surely come back, need to try other dishes.

My fiance and I came here on a Sunday morning. His coworker recommended this spot so we decided to come here for breakfast. We got the hotsilog and tocilog. Both were super good! Their garlic rice is super flavorful. There's a very homey feel to the restaurant. The food came out fast and the workers are super nice as well. We will be coming back and making this restaurant a staple in our rotation!

It's considered a Filipino breakfast restaurant but honestly, the servings are so generous, that it can probably be eaten at any time of day. It definitely kept me full all day. Order and pay at the counter, and your order would be delivered to the table with the provided table number. Absolutely affordable. We had the following: * $8 pork lumpia: thin, flaky, fried spring rolls - good, standard * $13.99 tapsilog: beef, fried egg, and garlic fried rice - beef lacked flavor * $13.99 porksilog: pork belly, fried egg and garlic fried rice - it came with a cold dipping sauce but I wished the pork belly itself was better salted * $12.99 adobosilog: braised pork, fried egg and garlic fried rice - flavorful, savory and best dish out of three

Price is reasonable. Bangus sisig tasted good. Panci bihon/canton/mix was awful and tasted bitter. It was served with burned sautéed fried onions and burnt pork that was mixed with the pancit noodles. Called the server and told her the pancit was burned and the staff knew it. The beef Papaitan lacked the hot bitter taste and did not taste the Papaitan. White rice was not free and had to be paid for two scoops $2.25.

We wanted to grab some quick food before we head home, so we ended up going to Jax Chibugan. The inside was spacious, and I loved the sari-sari store decor. It was also clean, and the service was fast. I ordered Sisigsilog and Sago't Gulaman. The sisigsilog was okay. I wanted to like their sisig, but I felt like I was just eating lechon kawali. It lacked the sisig flavor. I wished the pork were cut into smaller pieces, so the sisig flavor could come through. I liked their garlic rice, though. The sago't gulaman was good, but a bit sweet for my liking. I added water to the drink, and it tasted better. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Jax Chibugan. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable and affordable. The staff was also nice and friendly.

I always pass by this restaurant but never gave it a thought to try.. Woke up one day wanting filipino breakfast / food and looked on yelp and saw this was nearby and asked myself why I haven't stopped by to try the food! Glad I made the decision to stop by and order some food because it was worth it and hit the spot on fixing my filipino food cravings!! Random hole in the wall I would say and ambiance definitely gives you the feels of authentic filipino food with a good amount of seating area. I like their little sari sari decor cart set up, super cute and reminds you of the Philippines. Super clean inside and well kept. You just walk up to the cashier / register area and place your order. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. I loved their milkfish plate, lots of flavor and I enjoyed the egg and rice it came with. All the dishes I ordered was great, my kids loved their breakfast plates and we also got to try their halo halo which was refreshing. I want to come back and try other dishes they have since we ordered mainly breakfast dishes. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and will come back! Def give it a try if you like / enjoy filipino food.

We finally found a spot in SD that does amazing silogs. Their lechon kawali is something we see ourselves being repeat customers of. The garlic rice was also delicious! Some notes to improve on: the white rice was really mushy which we didn't like as much. The pork belly fries were just okay. The ambience is as no-frills as you can get. Price point isn't too bad either. For two dishes, fries, and halo-halo, it came to about $50.

Always a great time here! Went to San Diego over the weekend and we decided to come here. They have so much selections in their menu I ended up ordering 2 different plates and I didn't regret doing so because all of their food was good, it was delicious! We came back the next day to try more, still didn't disappoint. Ambience is quiet during breakfast but I think they do karaoke certain days or time. Service is always fast and accurate. We drove here again when we went to LA, yes it is that good. Brought new people with us to try and they also liked it.

I came back and invited my friend for lunch here and I was looking forward to the sago at gulaman, but the texture was off--the pearls were stuck together in one solid mass. I asked one of the ladies about it, but she just said that's how it's served, which was a letdown. Additionally, keep in mind there is a $0.75 surcharge for using a debit or credit card here.

First time trying this Filipino "food" spot and did not disappoint at all. Had our breakfast right after the 9AM opening and already about 15 customers already enjoying their meal. Ordered and took 15 mins for the following: Tapsilog - great portion and taste! Tender lean meat and it comes with two scoops of garlic rice and two fried eggs which was good too. Will order again! Tocilog - satisfied palate here. Less fatty meat used compared to other Filipino restaurants. Will order again. Pansit - lot of crispy and tasty Chicharrones and veggies. Just the right saltiness. Siomai - full of flavor. Sagot't Gulaman - it's too sweet for us so we had to mixed with same amount of cold water. Ordered three and we ended up having six (6) portion of drinks. Am I complaining? The answer is "No"...;-) .. that's extra drink for us. I am just letting everyone know that this won't be a surprised with the super sweet punch! We love the cleanliness, vibe atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Absolutely will come again to try the other dishes.

We decided to dine inside, and the space felt very tight and packed. The line alone took a solid 7 minutes and 30 seconds. The older Filipina lady at the register definitely was not feeling very "jolly," probably because she was trying to take her break, but I didn't let that deter my opinion of this particular location. The tables both inside and outside were not very clean and definitely needed more attention, but it was also a very busy Saturday afternoon so it was somewhat understandable. One thing that got a little annoying was the napkin situation. One of the meal workers was super stingy handing them out. I had a family of three including myself, and I had to get up at least three separate times asking for napkins, only to get two each time. Luckily, another more experienced cashier eventually gave us the right amount. Still, not enough to make me lower my rating. The final kicker, and usually the thing that makes me drop stars, is the cost. A 12-piece bucket with five sides and pies is definitely expensive and not much to be "jolly" over. But honestly, most competitor fried chicken franchises are charging about the same nowadays. Overall, since my last visit, nothing has changed about how much my family enjoys dining in and ordering from this Jollibee location. My kids still absolutely love it, and that alone keeps us coming back.

TL,DR: Outstanding food, priced right, great service and great atmosphere…read more I had driven past this place a few times and the name always cracks me up, reminds me of Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber. My wife tricked me into going with her to Walmart to pick up some shit, so I got to pick the spot for lunch and this is what I picked. Got there about 2 PM on Good Friday and there were a few people there but nothing crazy. Got seated right away and ordered drinks, a Pacifico for me, Sprite for the wifey - got them right away. For food, I got a BBQ bacon cheeseburger with tots, wifey got a regular bacon cheeseburger with everything plus fries, and I was curious so I also got the $10 chocolate (fudge) shake. Shake was delivered first. Expectations were high, and I was not disappointed. The shake was served in the metal tin, made with loads of real ice cream, whipped cream, fudge, drizzle of chocolate syrup, and chocolate sprinkles. Honestly not sure what I was thinking when mixing beer with shake, in hindsight I wouldn't do that again... but it was one of the best shakes I've had in a long while. Burgers came out shortly afterwards. Wifey's was cooked perfectly medium, which is an unusual thing for most burger places these days; most of the time when I order a burger medium, it comes out medium well or well done. These were both perfectly medium. Both burgers came out with a generous amount of potato products, more than either of us could hope to stuff down our gullets in one sitting. The food was outstanding. The service was great. The music was too loud for the wife but it was the kind of music that is supposed to be played loud so no points off for that from me. A nice vibe overall. I'll definitely be back.

When my partner and I took a spontaneous trip to San Diego, I made sure we stopped by to try their Thai-inspired burgers and loaded fries. We ordered the Spicy Pad Krapow Pork Burger, a Thai basil pork burger served on sticky rice buns. The flavors were bold, savory, and packed with heat. I loved the creative use of sticky rice in place of a traditional bun, though I personally would have liked it grilled a bit more for extra crunch. I'm a sucker for crispy textures. We also shared the Chicken Satay Fries: hand-cut fries topped with chopped chicken satay, peanut sauce, ajaad (a sweet-and-sour cucumber relish), red onions, and cucumbers. These were the standouts for me. I'd absolutely come back for the fries alone, especially since they offer several other varieties. My husband rounded out the meal with a Thai iced tea, which was the perfect sweet treat after such a hearty lunch. Beyond the food, the service was great, the space was roomy, and they earned bonus points for having a dog-friendly outdoor patio where we could bring our pup. Located just 10-15 minutes south of Downtown San Diego, it's an easy stop if you're in the area. We'll definitely be back -- and next time we'll be bringing friends and family.
