I've tried the pizza bread, nachos and both Cajun chicken and grilled cheese sandwiches, all of which were tasty and all of which were in the $6-9 range. The beer is cheap and cold, although I'll never forget the conversation when I first sat down: Waitress: "What'll you have to drink?" Me: "What kind of beers do you have on tap?" Waitress: "Canadian." Me: "I'll have a Canadian." Service here is very good. The ladies who have served me remember my name, and are always warm. Mary in particular is a totally amazing server, and one of my favourite waitresses in the city - I look forward to seeing her every time I go! Make no mistake though, these servers know how rough around the edges their clientele can be, and they don't take crap. I can tell. Karaoke nights are hilarious and just as unpretentious as the rest of the Hawkeye's experience. Go on a Thursday-Saturday night and find out for yourself! I'm always enjoy my visits here; great little spot in downtown Edmonton.

This is such an odd little place. It's barely a block off the really trendy part of Jasper Ave,…read moreclose to trendy spots like The Hat. It draws some of the same crowd in as those more popular bars, but it also has a real mix of people filling up the tables and booths. It's a lower-scale place that's part restaurant, part bar. The pizza was surprisingly VERY yummy here! Although they don't have very many beers on tap (I think it was a total of 1), we still had a really fun night with a big group of friends here. Out waitress (I forget her name, but everyone else seemed to know her) was fantastic. She was friendly and attentive (which was very impressive given how busy the place was). I would come by again for the pizza and a beer next time I'm in the mood for a very laid-back evening.

The cocktails are great. The service was not so great, even though we told them that we were celebrating a graduation. Nothing special and it was so loud that we were yelling at each other. I would overlook it if I thought the food was good. For the amount we paid, the food was okay but nothing that I would run back here for. So I don't get the hype. We ordered a bunch of cocktails (because we were celebrating but not that our server understood that because she didn't even get a congratulation) . and a bunch of food House pork dumplings Truffle Siu Mai Beef Tartare Cha- Siu Shanghai Noodles Wai Siu Chow Fan with added cha-siu 5 spice duck tacos Mozza sticks Nothing stood out. I found they were really heavy with the 5 spice which can be overpowering. I really don't understand the hype. And really everything kinda tasted the same. Like it was painted with the same paintbrush. I was trying to think of something to say about each individual item but really I can't and the portions weren't great. The rice and the noodles were decent but the duck tacos and the beef tartare were almost an embarrassing portion. Unless my child wants to celebrate her masters here, I won't be back.

Our server was slammed, so quite often we would go up to the bar to get our own beers. $5.25 per pint. Not the greatest beer selection. Did not try the food. It's kind of an old looking bar and there's really no decor. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. That's about it.

Double beef patty with bacon and cheese for $13. Only complaint was the fry portion was really small. Overall good value tho! Frozen pre made patties. The wife found the food greasy but I thought it was good. Had a order of wings, they are on special Wednesday for 35 cents each. Our burgers came out before the wings I had to remind the waitress about them and she went and got them. Bathroom is needing Reno's bad and smells of ammonia from urine. Pretty nasty they could at least put some urinal pucks in. But all that said the waitress was really nice and welcoming and I found it was a great value for what I got. Will I go back? Probably but I'd have to leave the wife at home.
