Easy to get to via the free parking lot. Place looks really dark from the outside but quite well lit inside. Great place for some appetizers and killing time. We tried the Little Red Corvette cocktail - just tastes like cranberry juice. Fries Supreme: 9/10. Fries were hot and fresh, cheese sauce was excellent, beef was quite spicy. Doritos Crusted Dep Fried Pickle Chips: 8/10, super hyped for this one but they were just well coated. Couldn't tell it was Doritos at all. But overall a good deep fried pickle. Tijuana Taquitos were recommended by the waitress: 10/10 very nice. Hoisin Pork Bao Buns: 10/10 bun was soooo soft. This unique spot is a fun hipster alternative to the upscale romance of Bourbon street. Live music on the weekends and tons of shareable eats. Plenty plenty of seating inside! And service was fast and efficient. We had to try a cocktail so we settled on Little Red Corvette, which was sweet and very juicy. I thought a little too heavy on the cranberry juice. But loved the foods we got. The servers top recommendations were the Pickle chips, taquitos and bao buns. And all 3 were great recommendations. My top item was the Hoisin Pork Bao Buns- the bun was so fluffy and light I adored the texture paired with the pickled onion and slow roasted pork these were mouth watering good. Perfect to share for our group of 3! Then the Tijuana Taquitos came in next top choice. Amazing crispy texture and the enchilada sauce with the lime crema was so tasty! I wish they served more than 2 or had a deal for double orders *wink wink* this item wasn't one we were originally gonna order but after trying it we definitely also recommend! The Doritos crusted deep fried pickle chips were a must on our list to taste! A nice crispy batter and we loved that it was rounds instead of straw cut pickles. Perfect bite morsels. They didn't have as much Doritos chip taste as I thought but they were a great shareable item. Then you can either get a Big Ass order of Skinny Fries for $5.55 or splurge and spend $7.95 on Fries Supreme. This was my first visit to Five & Dive and it won't be my last! My first impression of this place is that it's a little "busy" with the decor. Kind of a sensory overload, but sometimes you have to look past the shell and get to the goodness. Music was loud enough you could hear it, but not so loud you had to shout. Win-win! I noticed some people reviewed that the portion sizes are small, but let me break it down for you... 2 starters (queso w/ chips and scotch egg) 4 beers (peach sours- not house beer!) 2 meals (donair and bao buns) Total- $60 (without the tip) Where else can you say that?? That's a bargain! Food was typical pub fare, no complaints. Meat was juicy and portions were just right that I didn't have the dreaded leftovers. I don't need to get into details of it, I liked it and we all have our preferences. The name of the place is Five & Dive... And my expectations were as such. Service was top notch. I like this concept of the menu, it's great for people who want a small portion or a large one. Good for a meal or snack as most of the items are $5.55. I would say two items would satisfy the average per for a meal. This is a pub so they are counting on customers to have a drink or two and more. The food selection is good so it was hard to choose. I heard of a scotch egg but have never tried one before and it was on the menu so for sure I wanted to try it! It was quite good, I tasted lots of pepper in the sausage meat around the egg. The egg was cooked perfectly, not really runny but not fully cooked. The Mac & cheese with crushed cheezies was okay, not that creamy but still cheesy. The brisket donair was a good size and tasty but could have contained a little more meat. The fish was good and the chips were not that greasy, I would order this again. Been to Five & Dive a couple of times; once last year and then a few months ago. My first visit, there were more customers and I found the food portions were a little bit bigger. Understandably, the portion sizes seem to be smaller now as the profit margin might be different. I still found that ordering two items would sufficient food for me, and if you're coming with a friend or two, sharing items is a good way to try more items. The first time around, I had the donair and side salad and enjoyed it. The second time, donair seemed a bit smaller but still tasty. The fish was a big piece the first time but second time a lot smaller. The décor is cool, and love the KISS mural being a KISS fan. I also like pinball, but I don't think the machines were working either time. It can get loud with the music so conversing in raised voices might be needed. Service was ok, nothing outstanding. I'll come by again and try a few more items on the menu when I'm in the mood for pub food. read more

I met my bestie here for brunch on a Sunday. I was disappointed at first when I saw how small the menu was, but I later learned that what they do for such little cost, they do really well. And you really can't beat those prices. They're decent portions too. We had to move because it was a bit too loud and we're a bit too old. Note to self: If you want long conversations to catch up with a good friend, don't sit directly in front of the DJ. Bestie ordered Ranchero cups and it looked fabulous. She also ordered the Cheesecake pancakes, and she let me try one. I'm ordering that next time. I had the skillet and it was so satisfying. It hit every savory note I craved and I would definitely order it again. After trying the pancakes, I decided to order the blueberry French Toast too. Two slices of simplicity, but delicious. Hits all the crave notes, sweet, but not overly much so We were driving, so no booze, but it was tempting. Maybe next time. This place has it all. Two seating areas separated by a large bar and a small stage area for live music. A sensory overload with so much to look at, good music and friendly service. They have 6 kinds of their own draught beers for $5.55/pint that were cold and refreshing. We liked the appetizers but they are pretty small. We tried corn dogs (delicious) and Texas Twinkies were ok but small (bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers. Says there was brisket in it but we didn't notice). The mains weren't great and portions aren't huge. A burger after you add a side and extra toppings works out to about the same price as anywhere else & taste wise felt pretty average. The donair was disappointing and was honestly more salad than meat, which is the opposite of what I'm looking for in a donair. (There were 6 small pieces of meat in total. Yes, I counted.) Donuts were ok but I wish it came with a dip because it was dry. Portions are small and I would suggest ordering multiples of the appetizers (as the menu suggests). If you're coming hungry, I wouldn't say you're going to be spending less than you would anywhere else. The menu had some questionable items that made me :/. I get the concept of fusion, but sometimes some things don't and should not go together. That said, it's a fun vibe to hang out with good music and drinks/maybe some snacks. Stopped by the mall & found this cute place. The atmosphere looked fun and welcoming. We didn't realize everything on the menu was $5.55 until we sat down. SCORE! We ordered a few things. Dive burger w/kettle chips, poutine, bloomin onion, fried pickle chips, & pretzel bites. The burger was good! The poutine was my favorite. I would come back just for the poutine. I'm a fan of the skinny fries and gravy. The fried pickle chips were decent. Not a fan of the dill ranch, wish they had a different option for ranch. I wasn't a fan of the bloomin onion & pretzel bites. But for $5.55 each, it was worth a shot. If I were to give this place another chance I would try the shepherds pie & Mac n cheese. The service was less than average. The person scanning QR code's & checking vaccine cards was very polite and fast. Self seating, but as soon as our QR codes were scanned we were good to go. Took awhile for them to take our drink orders. When our waitress brought out our food we were missing a few items & my husband had to chase her down because she sat down our items and kinda ran off. Didn't even bother to ask if we needed anything else. I thought that was odd considering it wasn't busy. We were the only ones seated on our side. I will say this upfront - I am reviewing this restaurant (pub actually) on the basis of why I am choosing not to even try it. To begin with I first heard of it just this evening when I was invited to a Secret Santa party a friend wants to have here in what she called a new restaurant. The party is in a little less than a week. Before accepting I told her I wanted to check the menu first. The menu was, to me, not at all the least bit impressive. The only thing that caught my eye was the deep fried bacon - lol. Yes its a pub but there could be more variety. Another thing I didn't like was the sneaky way they advertised a portion of the menu. Under the heading Sharables they put beside that that you should order multiple orders of items as the size was small. I forget their wording. That's the definition of not being sharable. Then I called them and although their hours are listed as 11:00 - 11:00 seven days a week there was not only no answer at the prime time of approximately 5:45 but the voicemail was completely full. I get that it was around prime time for dinner but honestly be better staffed. read more

I loved loved loved this place! The food was amazing! We decided to get a few items and share. We started with the Texas twinkies which were amazing. Then we worked out way to fries supreme which I hoovered. We decided to add brisket and fried egg to our grilled cheese. Great decision! So yummy! Everything on the menu is $5.55! Decent portion size considering that. Tried their house lager which was really tasty. The artwork and atmosphere were so cool! Definitely stop by if you're in west Edmonton mall! I sat at the bar with a friend this past Saturday. The food was great and I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size for the cost. I will say that it was busy but there are a few things that stood out... the same dirty glasses were still in front of me from the last guest plus our plates and glasses which was frustrating considering I could see the porter running dishes 6 feet away from me. Just having them clear plates and wipe the bar would have dramatically improved our experience. The bartender was overwhelmed and just not moving with any sense of urgency. I would say overall the service was awful. I would consider trying it again. read more

Went specifically on a Tuesday because their site advertises Rock and Roll trivia... we arrived and found out it was Harry Potter trivia night... which would maybe have been fun if we were 16. They were out of vodka and various other things we asked for. The bartender said they'll probably switch it up and have a few rounds of rock and roll so we stayed, but they kept on going with Harry Potter, so we left because it was just kind of lame. Great food! Great music! Great drinks! But...I've notice a few times the bartenders tipping themselves before paying your drinks, and then after looking at the actual amount on the receipt. Don't get me wrong I always tip when I'm there but their was those odd occasions. One occasion, Summer(bartender) claimed i must've accidentally tipped her $20 when I know I didn't select tips and was brought automatically to pay on the machine. So glad my husband and I made the decision to try this place out. The food was great and the service fantastic. Taneesha was fun and genuine, and seems to actually enjoy her job, and that makes a difference. She made sure we were always looked after, It was a super hot day, so I made short work of my ice water, and there was a fresh glass at the table just before the first one was gone. (also the beer she recommended was great, and I'm not really a beer drinker) The atmosphere was fun and seating comfortable and with everything on the menu $5.55. I ordered more as I thought I would need more to eat. (I didn't need the second entree but ate everything anyway) We will be returning, and soon. Well worth the trip . Went to Five and Dive for dinner, before they serve you they ask you for a credit card and an ID which is so disrespectful and a wrong way to handle any restaurant business. The service was quite slow and the staff seemed unorganized. Got a taco in the bag and specifically asked for no salsa and still received it. Sent it back and got the same result. As we were ready to pay the bills I had to walk around to find my server, and when they brought the bills they brought us another persons ID and Credit card. Attempted to go eat here around 4:45. The place was busy but multiple open tables everywhere. Waited about 5 minutes before anyone came to door. Hostess came and tried to seat us as the 2 waitresses came over and started yelling at her in front of us and other potential customers behind us in line saying: "do not let anybody else in! Turn everybody away we can't handle this. You can't let anybody in between 4-5! Stop letting people in." We left as we did not want to eat a restaurant who did not want to serve us. We felt very sorry for the hostess who was verbally attacked by her coworkers and explained to the manager how inappropriate what we witnessed was a customer. We will now no longer go back here because of this poor behaviour we seen and hope that they can step up their game. read more

I want to start with something positive so I will say that the artwork on the walls and the music is so awesome. I love rock and roll so naturally I felt really comfortable here. In total and complete honesty, they need to revamp their menu or change the ingredients. The food is not working. If you look in any other place where there is comments about this place you'll see that it's a majority criticism. I get this isn't meant to be a restaurant, and more of like a pub but come on you advertise all these cool sounding dishes and then you can absolutely tell it's worth $5. I would take out some and just focus on getting better at others. Drink wise I had the little red corvette, which was OK. Then I had the blind melons which was awesome. My suggestion is eat before you go and just have some cheap drinks and order like one thing. I'm going back in a few days to see if anything has changed. As well, a seat yourself concept during a pandemic is kind of unacceptable like how would the general public know if their table has been wiped down or sanitized before they go sit there ?
