Tony was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The pricing was comparable to another estimate we received, but we are confident that these windows are better quality and will last longer. They included a fix for a hole in our siding without trying to upsell us for all new siding. We ordered in October and the manufacturer had our windows ready for installation in December. The crew that came out were so friendly and very respectful of our home. Scheduling the installation, painting, cleanup, and finishing touches was a breeze. The winter weather did make it difficult for the crew to clean up nails and debris on the outside, but they did come back when it was warmer to clean up. We look forward to hiring them for other services, possibly roof and siding.

It was a mess. I carefully researched companies that did exterior work. I ultimately chose Olson on the basis of their reputation of doing high-quality work. Shortly thereafter I met with the project manager (Joe H) and he was helped me get the colors and materials picked and ordered and the project was underway. When the install day arrived, I was introduced two a 2-man work crew that would be handling the bulk of the work. In the course slightly more than a week, they totally rebuilt the full exterior of my home. The results are amazing and the home feels new again! Two things really stood out to me and my experience with Olson. 1). The work ethic of that two-man crew. They worked as hard as anyone I have ever seen. Except for lunch, work was non-stop from sunrise to sunset. This was hard and grueling work, especially the demolition of the old siding and stone fascia. They showed up every day like clockwork, and cleaned up after each day. 2). The quality of work they demonstrated. They absolutely knew what they were doing, and they were very good at it. Everything was installed true, level, without gaps, etc. Caulk lines were perfect etc. Everywhere they worked you could see the pride in what they do, and it was very clear there were no shortcuts taken. These two gentlemen were expert craftsman and I can gratefully say my house now reflects that. It turned out more beautiful than I'd ever imagined. I have never nor will ever receive any compensation for this review. My sole motivation for writing is to share the positive experience I had with Olson. Finding a trustworthy company for a project of this size and investment is daunting. Olson, especially their work crew, deserves recognition for a job well done. I can recommend them without hesitation for their quality work and attention to detail. They should be proud of their accomplishments, and I am proud of it too.

Every home has its own idiosyncrasies, imperfections that force installers to improvise solutions few homeowners can come up with on their own. Epic's installers killed it. Owner Tom stopped by 3x to see how things were going, to answer questions and see if we or his team needed anything. Everything went super smoothly. We especially appreciate installer Louie's advice. I thought I wanted transition pieces where the wood floor met tile. Louie scowled his disapproval and suggested another idea with better aesthetics: With expert workmanship, he and his partner created a clean line between the two surfaces (no transition piece). Beautiful! My idea: circa 1980. Louie's solution: Timeless, classic, elegant. Louie could have stuck with the plan. He gave us something way better. Before starting this project, I thought: I'd really like to patronize a small local business -- even if that meant paying more. Surprisingly, Epic's price came in lower than the big box. We are thrilled with the results and will return to Epic for our next floor project.

Kristen, the wife of the owner, became belligerent, threatening us with a lawsuit if we reviewed them. They have only done one rendering, refusing to comply with a signed contract to complete the next two that are in the contract. They also refuse to reimburse any of the $699 we paid, even though they refuse to complete what was agreed upon in the signed contract. The BBB took this complaint, but as this company has done with the other complaints, they refuse to respond. I would stay clear of this company. The first rendering did not have proper posts that would even support the deck we wanted built. It looked like a kid did the rendering and they said it was because it was the first one. Well, I expected the first one to knock us off our feet since it was $699 and that it would only need a few tweaks. Instead it raised red flags. They should have been embarrassed to send it to us. Also, need to mention that Kristen inflates the price unjustifiably. Also wanted to note that it is not illegal to write a review of a company.

Second, reviews are brimming over with superlatives like "very responsive", "amazing company", "could not be happier", "transforming our old deck into a masterpiece!", "They pride themselves in QUALITY work and it shows!" (notice the exclamation points for grandiosity). The "reviews" are a bit too positive to reflect the real world. NOTE that "could not be happier" vernacular was used in 2 reviews - Brian W. Oct 5, 2022 (San Francisco ? ? ?), and Jennifer B May 22, 2022 - which is pretty suspicious, perhaps written by Kristen Miller Bull Valley IL. Third, statements totally contradict my experience, like "Kristen and Tony were very responsive in answering all of our questions" where my experience was the exact opposite. "The entire process was smooth", while our reality was opposite because it was like pulling teeth with Kristen, "Incredibly helpful in making design choices", which is the real world means very high-priced add-ons that empty your wallet. Fourth, the "rah, rah" statements like "Don't hesitate and call Decked Out Builders for your next home project." which are over the top. and once again, use of the same vernacular by another "review" which said "Don't hesitate to call them!" Jennifer B who used the same vernacular as Mike R. NOTE: Through use of repetitive comments it appears that Brian W, Jennifer B, and Mike R are likely all the same person, or written by one. A scam has been presented to Yelp by one person impersonating others for the purpose of pumping up the reviews. Even if it occurred on 3 different accounts the writing was by one person. No company gets all positive reviews because that doesn't reflect society.

In August 2025 a hailstorm caused significant damage to the exterior of my house. I ended up having…read moreto replace the roof, the siding, the gutters and downspout, the garage doors and a number of additional items. Thank God, that with the exception of my deductible, it was all covered and paid for by my insurance company, USAA. After meeting with several contractors and doing my due diligence I decided the best company to do the work on my house was Suburban Customer Builders. And in retrospect I am so glad I chose them as they were great to work with and did a truly exceptional job on my house. My friends and neighbors say that it looks like a brand new house rather than one that is almost 40 years old. While there were a number of factors that set Suburban Custom Builders apart from the other contractors I considered, I think the deciding factor for me was the quality of the materials they would be using were far superior to what the other contractors were offering at the price approved by my insurance company. For example, Suburban Customer Builders replaced my roof with level 4 rated high impact shingles that offer much greater protection from hail and wind damage than standard shingles which is what the other contractors said they would be using. As an added bonus most insurance companies offer a premium discount for installing this type of roof because of the added protection it offers against hail and wind damage. Personally, after the installation of my new roof, USAA significantly reduced the premiums on my homeowner's policy. In conducting their inspection of my house, which took place after an inspection had already been performed by an adjuster from my insurance company, Suburban Custom Home Builders found items that they felt that USAA should be covering but weren't, most notably the need to install new skylights, so they send in documentation to support their contention that these additional items should be covered and paid for and after reviewing the documentation USAA agreed and allocated funds to cover the installation of new skylights and the other items Suburban Custom Builders had requested coverage for. The project manager for the work done on my house was Tammy Harrison and she was great. She was very personable and easy to work and was also very knowledgeable and extremely diligent in ensuring t the work done on my house was done in a timely and efficient manner. She oversaw the entire process from start (helping me pick out colors for the roof and siding) to the finish (when Suburban Custom Builders sent in the final paperwork to my insurer, USAA, showing that all work they authorized had been completed). The various crews that worked on my house arrived on time, did their work in a professional manner and cleaned up after themselves when they were finished. Tammy reviewed their work to make sure that it met the high standards both she and Suburban Custom Builders set and in several instances had them comeback to make a few minor changes she thought needed to be made that I never would have ever noticed. I guess in summary I would say that I am very happy that I chose Suburban Custom Builders to do the work on my house, was very satisfied with the work done and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done on the exterior of their house. I would strongly recommend that if you had any storm damage or think that you might have any storm damage that you contact Tammy Harrison of Suburban Custom Builders at 1-847-529-8049 and she will arrange for them to come out and do a free inspection of your home. If damage is found they will work with you and your insurance company , like they did with me, to get the work needed covered and then will do the work in a timely and efficient manner using high quality marterials.

My brother was so impressed with the quality of the work that he also used Suburban Custom Builders to replace his roof and install gutters.
