One of the greatest coffee shops in the world exists in Brevard!?! Where to begin!? First, the coffee is excellent. I love a basic, self-serve drip coffee and these guys won that round. Second, the dessert options that have a variety of cookies were equally excellent. My group picked up a peanut butter/chocolate chip chunk, the "variety" cookie (a creative grouping - oats, blueberries, etc), and a chocolate chip cookie. Each was awesome. Lastly, why get a coffee without a baguette to share with your partner or group? Delicious bread. Needless to say, this place seemingly begs for you to stick around, which is what we did. A must-stop for us whenever we are in town. Delicious and consistent in their high quality cookies and cupcakes. Something fun is their cupcake of the week - they don't hesitate to try new flavor combinations but also do the "tried and true" favorites very well! They have a new location on Main Street now (just across from the Harris Ace Hardware store) and it is perfect for a quick bite to eat or a delicious dessert after a walk on Main Street. They are also wonderful about accepting phone-in orders, so if you have a craving for something and are afraid they might be out (like our beloved meringues!) then be sure to give them a call ahead of time. Got a box of assorted brownies and they were as big as the palm of your hand...lemon bar, pecan bar, cherry almond bar, raspberry chocolate almond bar, outrageous (with the marshmallows), caramel sea salt, brookie (brownie on the bottom, chocolate chip cookie on top). Compared to Bracken Mountain Bakery, this place specializes in sweet items and special occasion cakes, and seems to be a bakery that you'd pick up a cake from and leave rather than hang out and drink coffee. Nothing wrong with that - just a different vibe between the two. I've tried the gingerbread and carrot cake. The gingerbread, which is such a commonplace, forgotten-about cookie, was amazing! Love the atmosphere of this place, it's cute inside and out. They have a variety of sweets and pastries that normally aren't sold elsewhere in Brevard, but I sometimes find them so sweet that I stop enjoying it after eating a bit. Despite this, there are still pastries that I do enjoy as an occasional snack to satisfy a sweet craving. Mainly into the savory foods (such as the spanakopita and Greek pizza), which is fantastic for lunch! I appreciate always feeling welcomed whenever I walk in. It can get overwhelming inside during busy hours, but it's nice and relaxing when you stop by earlier in the morning. 4 stars for the good feel of this place and their savory offerings, but not primarily for their sweets. read more

I wish there was a 2 1/2 star rating. Coffee was good but our cake treat was frozen solid and we had to wait for it to thaw. A table was unbussed for a long time. The only reason I mention it is we overheard the staff commenting on it but doing nothing about it. They ran out of half and half but left the empty container out when they put out some more for the hour we were there and it was there when we left. Best Bakery in Western NC hands down. Best Sour Cherry pie my dad has had in 69 years when his family had cherry trees. The first time I bought the mini. Three days later I went back for the regular size. Best Baklava I've had in 17 years since moving here from Bucks County PA. They do 'Cupcake of The Week' - 'Like' and 'Get Notifications' on their Facebook page and you'll see it every week - phenomenal. My first visit was around Christmas and I got several Christmas sugar Cookies decorated and iced. Seriously - you cannot have a bad day visiting this bakery. Stopped by here after a beautiful hike and was in the mood for a quick treat, lots of options to choose from and was surprisingly busy but the ladies behind the counter remained sweet as could be. I ended up getting some pecan sandies and a mini apple pie, both to go. Prices were very very reasonable which is a plus! Sandies were the best homemade ones I have had, I even made the hour long drive the following week just to get them again! The texture is exactly what you look for, the pecan and cookie taste blend together perfectly, it is just absolute heaven! And the mini apple pie was amazing as well!
