There's an Old Navy, TJ Maxx (which, by the way, is NOT at the front of the store as the sign would mislead you to believe), Homegoods (i.e., Marshall's without the clothes), Belk, a Merle Norman outlet, Bath & Body Works, the Gamefather (a video game store), and some clothing stores. Also a standard pretzel/soda/cookie spot, too. A hair cuttery, a cafe, a nail salon... You definitely couldn't make a day out of shopping here, but could spend an hour or two or so. It's clean, and the restrooms are nice, too. I will save comments about individual stores for their own personal Yelp reviews. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this as a spot for out-of-town folks, unless you just want to be amazed simply the size of by a small town mall (aka, it's cute). So it's certainly better than other malls in the Upstate. I prefer downtown (it's a nicer ambiance, with some nicer stores and a bigger mix of things to do), but I can't criticize Haywood; it does a good job.

Lots of people carrying bags and supporting the retail economy. There is an indoor mask mandate in North Carolina and it was definitely being honored today. The food court was slammed with just about every table in use. A big merry-go-round with a bunch of kids on it, overlooking the usual pizza, sandwiches, burgers, Chinese. Nothing particularly healthy and all queued up. The mall is clean and there was a visible security presence all around the interior but I did not see one outside. Nearly all storefronts were occupied though the Sears anchor is closed. I think this mall will continue to be around for at least a few more years. The mall itself is largely unchanged outside and in with the exception of closed stores. Upon entry at foodcourt you can look up the second floor and see the theatre no longer operates. There was one visible closed off entry inside to detached store I think was sporting goods before but no others. There is Belk, Dillards, JC Penny's and distinctly remember a dedicated Pandora store. In the old Sears building is now Rural King, farm equipment. There is a Costco not part of the mall but built very near behind. I wasn't sure what to expect walking inside, but to my pleasant surprise it seems to be a surviving mall for now. Come to this location for some centralized shopping and keep our malls going.
