This practice used to be something special, but has slowly changed and I can no longer recommend it, which is unfortunate. I reiterate, though, I don't actually believe it has anything to do with either of the Carlson doctors, they are wonderful. The office staff, on the other hand, is not easy to work with, places blame on patients, and will pushback and not take ownership over seemingly simple conflicts. After years of going to this office without issue, I was offensively chastised by the practice because of an out-of-network insurance issue. Yes, it should have been my responsibility to update the office with insurance information, but their so called "courtesy" of reviewing patient files and proactively working with patients is non-existent and they will defend their stance tooth-and-nail. They had no problem seeing me for a cleaning, they also had no problem informing me after the appointment that my insurance had expired. If you go to this practice, you better be sure to have all of your ducks in a row otherwise you are going to be blindsided.

After those visits, I appreciated the personal follow up. It was a bit of a surprise to have the dentist calling my house just to check to see if I was in post procedure pain and asking if everything felt OK However, since I started being more disciplined about showing up for cleanings twice a year and following advice on type of paste, brush, and water floss, it has all been preventative. I got new insurance and went to a new dentist 2 weeks ago. The new dentist caught the cavity and said that its so bad now they have no option but to remove my K9 and do an implant - which is $5,500 and not covered by nearly any dental insurance. This dentist screwed me so bad. This xray is from 2 years ago which they took at open and affordable dental - they never mentioned it or seemed to notice. Which is laughable because its so so so obvious. They just want your money, they are not looking out for your long term health. I had to cancel an appointment 48 hours in advance and got lectured about them needing more time, only for their rescheduled appointment to be cancelled last minute on their end due to staffing issues. It took almost a year and multiple phone calls to my insurance and their office to figure this out. Eventually, their office told me they would waive the fees because it was their fault for waiting so long to bill. They said their agreement with the surgeon was that if he wanted more x-rays, he waived the fee. Due to their delay, the x-ray bill from his office went through first. They told me that the charges were being removed, and the matter was settled. Here it is, 2.5 years later, and they are now billing me, claiming I have to pay for the exam. My insurance should have covered this at 100%. I haven't worked for that employer or had that insurance for 18 months. I am paying them to get them to go away. If they generate another bill, I'm going to get a lawyer. DO NOT do business with them.
