This brewery is great, they host a lot of events; trivia on Monday, game nights on Wednesday, etc. It's located right in downtown Auburn Hills. We come for the game nights on Wednesdays and love their beers; the amber Ale and Pilsner are delicious. They also have an awesome $5 mocktail deal (at least during the week). For those doing Dry January or those not drinking alcohol, this is a great deal! I hope they keep it! Came here over the weekend with a friend. I had some sort of cherry wheat and it wasn't that great but it wasn't horrible. We each had the pesto panini which was surprisingly good and it actually came with a side which was nice. The low rating is mostly for service. When we arrived, they had been open 10 ish minutes tops but there were people already at the bar, with drinks. When I walked in, there was one employee who sort of greeted me, but it appeared she was working at the attached coffee shop. So I waited and waited.. until the bartender finally decided to come out from wherever she was and ask me if I had been helped. I responded that we hadn't been helped and she proceeded to walk away? She eventually came back and got our drink order, even longer to get our food order in. Definitely got a little bit of judgment from her when my friend just ordered water (he doesn't drink alcohol). I don't expect everyone to be overly friendly but this was bartender was truly one of the most unfriendly people I have ever interacted with at a bar. Combined with the mediocre beer, probably won't be rushing back. There is way too much competition where I can get good service in metro Detroit to make a repeat visit. read more

The paninis were very good! We had the cheese and the veg hummus one. There is a good amount of seating inside and out. I don't drink beer, but got a glass of the Naked Chardonnay. Either I was given the wrong wine (tasted more like a Pinot Gris) or it was just not good. Also, the cost for the glass of wine was high ($11). The person I was with got 4 beers to try and said they also were not very good. Hoping our drink experience was a one off bad experience, but don't know that we would go back. I have been to Blue Skies but this is my first time reviewing them. I was in need of this tag and we were in the mood for beer. Which we always are! Lol. We stopped in and were instantly greeted by Wendy! She was so cheerful. No way anyone could be in a bad mood around her! In fact all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered an Amber. Ambers are my favorite but this was a bit on the sweet side for my liking. It reminded me of an Alaskan Amber. We were only having one and didn't have the opportunity to try the red, which I may have liked better. I got my tag and passport stamped and off we went! I had family visiting in town so we decided to try something new. We found Blue Skies and had beer flights, popcorn, and snack flights. We arrived a little before food service (at 4:00p) started but the GM was SUPER Accommodating and switched on the popcorn machine and got things rolling. We enjoyed the beer and good company. We also walked away with a bottle of their straight bourbon whiskey at a great price! Taylor and Emily were extremely friendly and welcoming. They have the personality and versatility to provide kind service to patrons that will bring them back again and again. The atmosphere was relaxed with board games to play, sports to watch, and music overheard but not blaring. My wife and I stop here whenever we are in the area. We always get great service, and the beers are above average. They have a nice coffee shop inside the taproom, along with some baked goods. Individual pint prices are a bit steep, but the beer and service was good, just not other worldly. The Amber, IPA and NEIPA were all decent, but not what I'd expect in each style. The Amber was a bit too sweet for an American Amber, the IPA wasn't as dry as I'd expect for the style and the NEIPA wasn't terribly "juicy" (if you're familiar with the style, you'll know what I mean). Not great, not bad, but I probably wouldn't make an effort to come back as it's a bit far from home and we'd pass at least a half dozen better breweries on the way. read more

Stopped here for dinner this weekend and was thrilled. Excited to visit again with the pups at at outside patio table! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. Nice selections of beer and hard ciders - and mixes! Cider slushees. Cool concept of hard seltzer where you design your own with a huge selection of syrups. I rarely enjoy hard seltzers because they overall lack flavors and sweetness and feel like this concept probably solves that. Excited to try! Really like this brewery. It's in a nice spot. Staff was very nice and helpful with deciding on beers. Went with 2 other friends and we all got tasting flights - so many good options! I think I may have liked the porter the most by itself. But our server grabbed us a sample of a mix of the stout with their raspberry cider and OMG it was so good! I took my dad for a beer and lunch on Saturday. He had an IPA, I enjoyed a Belgian tripel. Loved it! Belgian beer is my favorite, and they nailed it. We also ordered sandwiches -- my dad has the roast beef, I had the Cuban. I really enjoyed the homemade pulled pork in the Cuban sandwich. Good portion sizes and value for the money. I have been to probably 100 breweries in my life and this is by far the worst. Which is sad considering how close it is to my son's soccer practice facility. We ordered two flight of IPAS and dark beer. When asking for direction while ordering the bartender exclaimed "I hate dark beer!" which didn't sit right with us. Until we tasted it and we can agree, the dark beer here is atrocious. We also reported that on the IPAS tasted like sort/mold. The bartender was nice enough to give us a fresh pour saying they recently changed the lines. He also remarked "No one else in here said it tasted bad." Both my husband and I were very sick with headaches/migraines that night which was probably from the beer or the terrible lunch meat sandwich. Good grief. read more

Tried this place out because I love the concept of a bar and coffee shop together. Great for the variety and the ambiance was nice. Things that irked us though - 1.) Such small portions. The cup size is SO small. For a $6 latte, I'd like more than a couple of sips from a teacup. 2.) $1 for almond/oat milk?!? That's such a rip off and pure profit. Not allergen friendly at all. 3.) Very overpriced beer. Nothing under $8. I get the economy but this (including everything else) felt like such a markup. 4.) Terrible WiFi. When you come here to work, spend the money to settle in with a drink/snack to work and then you cant, it feels like a waste because now you have to go to another coffee shop. 5.) Stale attitude staff. Such blunt conversation and demeanor. I really wanted to support a small business and maybe even find a place to be a regular but this feel below expectations due to small portions, overpriced menu and lack of WiFi. Blue Skies Brewery is new to the scene. We stopped in here on our way way to Pontiac. It was a weekday, early afternoon, so the brewery wasn't super busy. We walked in and found a great spot at the bar. When you're not familiar with a brewery or their beers, it's best to sit at the bar and talk to the beertender. Why you might ask? Beertenders can provide you valuable information about the brewery and the beers. It's a great way to sample a few beers before making a final decision on a larger pint. We had a great beertender, at Blue Skies. She was a wealth of knowledge, not only about Blue Skies beers, but most of the breweries in the state. We were discussing our most recent trips around the state and the UP. We were shocked to find out she was familiar with most of the breweries we had visited. She even had some new spots for us to try. We ended up ordering a flight and a few pints. They have very tasty beers and some delicious seltzers, too. The decor of the brewery is themed after airplanes. They even have a special stout served with Biscoff cookies, of course we had to try this We can't wait to come back and visit. read more

The patio was lovely however they need some lighting out there at night because it gets very dark out there, too dark to see the menu without a flashlight.
