My little sister has a wedding just two months away. Did she have a dress, well not until we came here. Eddie was the one helping us, but Miranda was also in the shop, and these two amazing humans made what could feel stressful (based on other boutique visits) so nerve calming. This store does not run on commission, so people work as a team to help out brides to be. Eddie spent time just talking with my little sister to get an idea of what he should put her in. Then...he turned to her team and asked us about her favorite dresses: a Bacar and Cosette were currently in top place, but likely unavailable to get by the wedding date. Eddie pulled a dress that was so different than the ones he'd originally pulled. But it was a lovely mixture of both of her favorites and she instantly lit up when she had it on. Of course, we still had plans to check one more location in Hayward for dresses, so a decision could not be made at that time. But Eddie was not at all worried, he just gave us the dress info and his availability for the rest of the day. Two days later, my little sister purchased the dress Eddie picked over the phone. It was meant for her: it fit like a glove, was giving fairy princess in a garden tea party. It was the dress we were looking for, but we would have never found without Eddie. My sister is getting married at the end of the year so my mom and I visited to help her pick a wedding dress. She made an appointment to Blue Sky Bridal and we got an uber to San Francisco. I personally have no experience in any of this so it was a really cool experience. This is a very small location which is nice when it comes to picking out a wedding dress. My sister liked the fact that it was a consignment shop. She picked out a few dresses and they were taken to the room she would be trying dresses on. Natalie was the lovely associate who was helping her out. She was very helpful with zipping her up and gave us great dresses that fit my sisters style. My sister really liked that the dresses were all reasonably priced. Overall she really liked one of the dresses she tried on. She even put a deposit on the dress because she was 90% certain she wanted it. The only thing that stopped us from getting it was the fact we had a second appointment somewhere else. I have been meaning to post a review of this amazing place for quite some time. My destination wedding was on September 2025 in Hawaii. And my dream dress was to wear a dress that was great in humidity and an a-line dress and flowy. I did my research online and Google and Yelp helped me find Blue Sky Bridal. It was one of the places I listed to find "the one." I followed Blue Sky Bridal on Instagram and constantly looked at their stories and all the dresses were so beautiful. The a-line dresses caught my eye and I knew that I HAVE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT and CHECK THEM OUT! hehe. I brought two of my cousins (one was the MOH and the other was one of the bridesmaids). We were lucky enough to find parking within the block or two. And even stopped by Starbucks before the appointment. We were greeted by Grace Keenan, who was an amazing Bridal Consultant. She asked what type of dress was I looking and wanting, wedding details, my price range, my dress size (and even did a double check by taking my measurements) and what music I want to listen to while trying dresses on. And she went ahead and started picking out dresses while me and my cousins looked as well. During trying on dresses, Grace took the time to get to know us :) There were so many beautiful dresses. The dresses are consignment and reasonably priced. I must say, 90% of the dresses that Grace pulled out for me were dresses that I had in mind and was looking for. But there were 2 dresses that I LOVED! And Grace was kind enough and patient with me in deciding between the two. She let me try both on and see myself in the mirror and platform that was near the entrance. And she let me borrow a veil which I was not planning to wear in Hawaii, but the veil was like the cherry on top while trying on both dresses. And of course, "THE DRESS" made me cry and I was soooo happy that I found her. I even remember the song that was playing in the background - Christina Aguilera's "What a Girl Wants." hehe. After I found the dress. I was gifted a champagne bottle and a luggage tag with a cute saying on it. My experience at Blue Sky Bridal was amazing! Even my cousins had fun. I have no complaints. I had a great experience at Blue Sky Bridal! They have a large selection of consigned dresses from sample sales, that were only worn once, or bought and never worn, all reasonably priced. Grace was a very patient and kind consultant. She was very accommodating with my parents and sister who came along. I chose 3 dresses initially, and Grace helped pick out the dress that I ultimately said yes to. She had me try on veils with my top two choices with the natural light from the shop's window, which was helpful because I had an outdoor wedding. There were some passerby's outside the shop window who helped seal the deal with their enthusiasm as well! I came back the next day to order my dress, put down the deposit online, and was able to pick up my dress soon after. One of the things I didn't realize was how common it was for bridal shops to charge a fee to try on dresses. I understand that it's a business and most places charge $30 on the lower side to $75 on the higher side, but goddamn! Every single dollar adds up when you're planning a wedding! Also, as someone who is extremely indecisive and doesn't expect to make a purchase based on a single visit, it really just feels like I'm throwing my money down the drain. Therefore, when searching for shops to try on wedding dresses, I made it a point to look for places that didn't charge a fee such as Blue Sky Bridal. Also, many redditors said they had a great experience here. What's great is that the dresses are all on consignment, so not only do you have a broader selection of different styles, you also score a massive discount. Natalie was my bridal consultant and helped guide me along the process. The first appointment was 1 hour long and we had a quick chat about what I was looking for and any budget limitations. After that, I was able to pick out 5 dresses on my own before Natalie started pulling things from the racks based on my comments/preferences. All in all, I tried on 9 dresses in that time frame, as well as some accessories. Unlike other stores I've visited, the bridal consultants wait for you to get into the gown before opening the curtains to help zip up anything or clip the dresses. I think having someone inside helps make getting into the dress a little bit easier, but since I've had enough experience watching how they do it, I was able to manage on my own. Just pointing this out because this would be a really good option for bride-to-bes who might be a little shy about their bodies! I never felt pressured and overall, had a really good experience at Blue Sky Bridal. Since it's consignment, they can't guarantee your dress will still be around after you leave the store. My experience at Blue Sky Bridal was perfection! I had my appointment at Blue Sky Bridal in between two other bridal shops. I had a fairly good idea what I was looking for but was still open to trying a bit of variety. This was my only consignment store on the list and I was excited because of the opportunity to give a dress another chance to be worn, instead of ending up in a landfill or tucked away for years. My 1 hr appointment (no fee) was with Natalie and she was amazing! She made me feel entirely at ease and comfortable. Many aspects of Blue Sky Bridal felt just right. The plants and the mid-modern look made this place inviting and cozy. The dresses were covered to protect the integrity of the consigned dresses. All information were fully displayed: the designer name, a reference photo of the dress, the height the dress was tailored for, and original and marked-down prices. The range of prices varied and I found a few dresses well below my budget (especially with the 15% anniversary sale). The organization of this place made it easy for me to go through and tag the dresses I wanted to try. I tried on approximately 7 dresses and narrowed it down to 2. Natalie guided me to the front of the store where I could try both with veils and in natural lighting. My girlfriends said I had a lot of passersbyers give their approval and one woman in particular made sure I saw her do so- we joked with Natalie that these paid actors were great at timing. Ultimately, I knew my heart was set on one but had one more place to go to before finalizing my decision. While at the next bridal store, I couldn't stop thinking about THE dress. I ended up returning to Blue Sky Bridal right before they closed to seal the deal. Natalie let me do one last check of the dress before signing the no return/exchange contract- I found a couple stains but they were not a problem. I got a few photos with my friends and of course, the obligatory "Say Yes to the Dress" photo. I appreciate the transparency, options, organization, and comfort of this place. Unfortunately the offer of a hold/deposit was not offered to me on my visit, and it seems the dress I liked the most (after going to other bridal stores in the subsequent 2 days since the Blue Sky appointment) has sold. Because someone else got the dress, Blue Sky didn't 'lose the sale' but they did lose a sale from me. I have been to both the Portland location and San Francisco. I think your experience very much depends on who serves you. The Portland store put me in a size much too big and it was hard to figure out which dresses might work because the fits were mostly wrong even with clipping-it was just too difficult to visualize. S.F. store had me fitted much better, but I didn't know you could put an item on hold, I thought you had to buy it then and there because I was aware they were samples/consignment, but no hold was offered, and I needed to sleep on it. I would have had no problems putting a deposit down on the dress that day. It's a bummer. I have dreamed about dress shopping since I was a child, but I am plus size (usually size 18/20) and I just had a baby, I was so nervous about finding a shop that carried dresses in my size. Blue Sky Bridal said they offered plus size and the appointment was free, so I took a leap of faith. My stylist was Eddie, and wonderful, bubbly and very knowledgeable associate. They start by asking about what I envisioned for my wedding day, I said I had no clue, Eddie allowed me to look through all the dresses and pick 4-8 dresses that I liked. I tried on about 6 dresses, all different styles, but none of them felt right. Eddie then picked a dress for me, I looked and it on the hanger and said "ummm I don't know about that". Eddie said "if you don't like it we can take it right off, just give me a chance" I put the dress on and fireworks went off. That was my dress! But it was first time shopping so I left the dress and tried on 12 more at other stores. Ultimately still thinking about Eddies dress, so I took my mom back to Blue Sky Bridal and we tried on 4 more dresses, then put Eddies pick back on and knew it was the only dress of me. Eddie helped walk me through what kind of alterations would need to be done as well as gave me a list of alteration stores they recommend. Not only was my dress already consignment and majorly discounted, but it was also part of the sample sale and I got an extra 15 percent off. I did some research and was recommended to check out Blue Sky Bridal. Blue Sky Bridal was the fourth shop and hopefully the last.. This is a consignment store so you walk out with the dress on the same day. All the dresses are sold off the rack and at a discounted pricing. The store is smaller than other bigger name stores but the selection is nice and they rotate out the stock every few months. I came in with a budget and walked out with "the one" under my budget. Although I didn't get my dress from Blue Sky, I enjoyed both experiences I had hear and would recommend them, especially for plus sized brides. My mom was in town in August and I decided on Blue Sky Bridal for my first dress shopping experience, making an appointment for us to both go in. I said yes to the dress here! :) It may seem small from the outside, but Blue Sky Bridal has a surprisingly diverse collection. The dresses themselves have beautiful designs and are in great condition, and it was very fun to try different ones on. My style is more bohemian/dainty and delicate, and there were plenty to choose from in those styles. I also liked that trial appointments were free! My stylist was Natalie, who helped me settle in by asking me questions about my upcoming wedding. She was very efficient in helping me into the dresses and giving information about each dress and how to alter them to fit me better. She and the rest of the staff were all very easy to work with and not pushy at all. As each session is only an hour long, I had time to try on 5 dresses. But within those five, one already caught my eye with its unique design and soft fabric. I even visited other stores and checked far and wide online, but ultimately came back here as it was the only place that carried that particular design. It was initially over my budget, but I was able to work with the team to find a price that worked for me (under $1500)! We had a great experience here! They were super accommodating and friendly. Summer helped us out and she was great. The store might seem small but they had a wide variety of different styles, designers and price points. I did try on a lot of sample dresses but they also had pre-worn dresses. All of the dresses seemed to be in really good quality, and you can tell that they take keeping the dresses well maintained seriously which is nice when you're buying the actual dress you're trying on. The only thing I will comment on is that the champagne offered for dress shopping is not advertised clearly. When it is offered, it sounds like the champagne will be served to the guests while you shop or try on. Instead, it is a bottle that is given to you after you're done shopping. Had the absolute best time at Blue Sky Bridal yesterday! Throughout the entire process, from beginning to end, Elayna was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and she even picked out the dress that I fell in love with. She was able to get my friend and I, back to back appointments since we wanted to go in together, but they did not recommend going at the same time, which now makes complete sense. Our appointments were at 12 PM and 1 PM, and it was nice that no one else was in the boutique. I believe you can book out the entire boutique for a fee, if you wish to do so. I appreciate that they offer a 1 hour appointment with no fee. Their selection was amazing, and there were so many to choose from. I love a size inclusive store, and they definitely delivered. They have their dresses organized so well, there were pictures of the dress on a tag with the original price and their price (which are all very reasonable for the types of dresses and the designers they carry). I tried on around 7 dresses, before Elayna got an idea of what I wanted and brought over a few more dresses she thought I'd like. I can tell you one thing, she knows what she is doing! She is amazing at her role, and I have decided on one of the dresses she suggested, and that I completely passed on while browsing. I decided to take the night to weigh out my decision. Seems like lots of people have had good experiences here, but i came in last Saturday and had a really bad one. Drove 4+ hours for my appointment, was really looking forward to it as i'd been following them on social media for a little while and it looked like a cute little shop. I showed up for my 2:30 appointment at 2:25. The door was locked and another client was inside. Someone came to the door and said "can i help you?" in an annoyed tone. I said i had an appointment at 2:30, they looked down at their watch and said "then can you come back at 2:30?". I waited outside another 10 minutes, no big deal but the immediate attitude was weird to me. Once I'm inside they start asking questions about my wedding, i say I've tried on dresses at another shop and they were putting me in sizes 10-12. I explain that i'd love to not have to do a ton of alterations so if i could find a dress that doesn't need to be taken in much that would be ideal. The girl scrunches up her face and says "let me see your waist". Im wearing a jacket so i have to pull it back, as shes looking at me she's making a face like shes confused (theres still other people in the shop at this point) tells me to turn to the side, continues to examine me with a confused look on her face and says "i think you're more of a 14". Her tone was super catty and rude. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. If you're questioning someone's size, wouldn't you just take their measurements? She then said they didn't have many dresses in my budget and size and again i said i'd go above my budget if the fit was right and i didn't have to do a ton of alterations. She then had me show my waist to the person who opened the door earlier. They had me pick from a rack of size 12s. All of which were too big and i had to be clamped into them. I understand alterations are normal and finding the perfect fit is hard, but at this point i just had a bad taste in my mouth. The rest of the appointment was okay but i almost felt like i was inconveniencing them by being there and like i had to be extra nice to them to make it less uncomfortable. There were a few dresses i liked, but i just wanted to get out of there. I left feeling really bad about myself and wishing i hadn't made the trip. So happy I discovered this store, as I ended up finding my dream dress within my budget! I didn't even think I would have a "this is the one" moment...but I did, and it felt so right to say yes to the dress here. I received amazing customer service from Maddy and Emily, who were so warm and friendly, and went above and beyond in assisting me. They were a lovely part in my wedding journey! read more
