I can't recommend Jason highly enough!! Last winter a 40ft cedar in our front yard died. We were dreading having it removed after hearing neighborhood horror stories about flaky arborists and multi thousand dollar quotes. The recently demised tree was wedged between our house, our neighbors house and a power line; so I was terrified of it falling and incurring major damage. After almost a full year of procrastination I finally decided to deal with the dang thing. I checked out reviews for all the tree service contractors in the Portland Area I emailed and left messages with six different shops. Blue Sky was the first to respond and not only was Jason highly professional but his quote was more than reasonable. He gave me the option to file for the tree cutting permit myself to save money (which I appreciate I'm always trying to save a buck!) The permit office commented that the photos he provided expedited the process and made a point of telling me they appreciated his competence. After I obtained the permit he was able cut down the tree two days later!! Jason was amazing, he showed up when he said he would and worked his arse off for four hours not stopping once until my dead tree was completely leveled. Before he left he even considerately cleared my sidewalk and street of all debris. From start to finish I had a great experience with Blue Sky and spent WAY less than I expected to. I can't recommend Jason highly enough. It's amazing to see a guy like him in action... climbing up 50 feet, to cut down two large maple trees which were growing too close to our ADU building in the backyard. It's very impressive to see how these giant branches were lowered with a pulley system to the ground... and none of the nearby neighbors houses were affected either. Jason is super quick to respond, personable, and really gets the job done. He's also a great deal, compared to some of the other businesses out there... We used Blue Sky for a previous tree removal a couple years ago. We felt we knew Jason and trusted his team to take care of a dying tree in our yard. He came by to give a quote, sent a quote for the work, we accepted his quote, and then that was the last time we heard from him. 7-10 days later we emailed asking if there was anything Jason needed from us with no response. A week later, a large branch fell from the dying tree and we called PGE to ask about removing some of the branches hanging over powerlines. They said that PGE would need to coordinate with our arborist directly. I asked if a permit had been filed at our address for a tree removal, and it hadn't. We called a couple times. We emailed again. Still nothing. We were blown off. I get that. But a simple "I'm not able to take the job at this time" is probably better than ghosting a potential customer. Best! read more

I can't thank Blue Sky Tree Care enough for the helping me out of a difficult situation with a street tree that the City of Portland forced me to remove at my cost. Dealing with the city was a nightmare but dealing with Blue Sky was the saving grace of the experience. Other tree removel companies either wouldn't do it claiming it was too difficult, or they would do it but for an astronomical price. Jasin really was my hero. He was very understanding of how hard this was for me, being single senior who was heartsick about having to cut down the tree, with the cost adding to the burden, and he made an extra effort to help me get the thing done. Hands down, we recommend Blue Sky Tree Care! Jason came to our residence and helped us inspect, trim and remove several trees on our property. We had some technical challenges including a giant maple hanging over our home (and 4 skylights) that needed removal, a pine and alder tree both needing to be removed that were near other delicate trees and landscaping, and lots of others that needed a good trimming due to years of neglect. They not only trimmed and removed everything, they also cut up the larger trees into disks that we could then chop for firewood later. When they were done, they cleaned up the yard so well that you couldn't tell they had even been there. They were fast, courteous, and were so thorough and careful in their work. It was abundantly clear just how much pride Jason takes in his business. In fact, Blue Sky Tree Care did such a great job that we immediately hired them again to remove a number of trees and trim others at a rental home of ours. Highly recommend Jason and his team. Picture a very tall (over 150 feet), old wild cherry tree that had split in four trunks, one of which was angled over my roof, dropping cherries and in danger of falling. Three large limbs were overhanging the patio, bombing it with cherries every summer. Jason and Chris removed the trunk over the roof, cut the limbs over the patio and pruned the dead wood in a few hours. The work was neat, clean and professional. We were supposed to get our tree reduced today by Jason. He texted me last week to confirm today, 5-14-19, that the work would be done and even included in the contract that he would have to schedule and arrange for a lift. We come home from work today and the tree was not touched! When I called him and asked about the work he said he guess he got busy and forgot and he would understand if we went with another tree service. It makes me wonder if he even planned to do the job? We had a major tree emergency during a recent windstorm. It was definitely an overwhelming mess! After failed attempts to reach two other "24-7 emergency" arborists, a friend recommended Blue Sky Tree Care and we had a great experience with them! Jason returned my call immediately, came over within the hour to assess the situation, and he and his team started work ASAP. They removed the gigantic fallen limbs, cut down the remains of the tree, and ground the stump all for a reasonable price. The whole process was very laid back and positive, which was much appreciated given the stress of this emergency. Jason and his assistant are super nice guys. They are friendly hard workers who know what they're doing and are pleasant to interact with. I highly recommend them!
