I'm a Midwesterner and this vinegar que isn't up to par with with our sweet smokey taste buds. Not to mention we do brisket and not pulled pork. We'll I got a Brisket Sammich and Mac. The ladies suggested I try the Strawberry or Honey Peach sauce. The WHAT???? In all of my years i have never! I rolled my eyes and went to play on my phone. Then I was called. The Sammich was piled high with 4 slices of brisket. Not chopped, no picked apart, no skimpy but thick, hang over the edge moist, seasoned brisket. I took a nibble a said "ohhhh". I like it. That made me grab some sauce. I mean absolutely tiny bit on the side just to see. I tasted the Strawberry and was elated. Its freakn delicious. The strawberry plays so well with the heat and a hint of sweet. The peach was freakn fire. I had to come back and grab 2 Oz of each. I thought it couldn't get any better till I bit into the Mac. We all ordered from their platter menu, chicken with brisket, chicken with ribs with sides of green beans, bbq beans, corn casserole, brisket and ribs. Brisket and ribs as a side was an extra upgrade charge . Meals came with toast or cornbread. Food was tasty, came out hot, good portions and reasonably priced. I wanted to update my review as I have had a couple more items! We recently tried their stew and their chili. We absolutely loved both as they are both full of flavor. I would say the stew had a little more flavor, but it also had a little more spice and kick to it. We also tried their smoked turkey at Thanksgiving 2024. They offer a couple of different sizes of turkeys, and we went with the smaller size, however it was quite big and fed plenty. It is so full of flavor, and one of the best smoked turkey's I've had to date. It did take longer to reheat than instructed, so be potentially prepared for that. It is too bad they don't offer sliced smoked turkey on their menu regularly, since it is so good! We went in for lunch after the strawberry festival today and I'll be so real with you it started rough. To make a long story short we waited about 20 minutes before anyone took our order. Once we got a server she apologized and explained that everyone was spread pretty thin today and took our order. The manager then came out and gave us half off our bill and talked to us for a bit. I also want to note we didn't raise a fuss or anything they just did that because that's what they thought was right. The rest of the time we were there ran super smoothly. The food was great! The chicken was really well seasoned, the corn casserole is wonderful I love it. I didn't have the greens this time but I can vouch for them. Our waitress was fantastic and we had a good time. They just had a little fumble at the beginning. I love this place I've been before and I'll continue to come back. I live in Mount Holly, and we make this drive because their ribs are some of the best ribs we've had in both NC and SC! They're NOT cheap, but those ribs are excellent! I'm not a fan of their brisket as it's dry and too lean for my taste. I like fatty brisket. Their sides are good, I love their Mac & Cheese, hand cut fries and the corn pudding are delicious! Tucked in a strip mall, the aroma of of smoked BBQ filled the parking lot as I exited my vehicle. On a Thursday evening, the sounds of a country guitar played on their patio for the outdoor guests as it set the tone for my first experience in SC BBQ. The interior is big with nice high ceilings. The entire dining area was tended to by workers who were constantly clearing the tables, sweeping the floors, and asking guests if they needed more BBQ sauce; wonderful personal service. The ordering of the food is register walkup and take your order number to a seating area of your choice. My son and I were very hungry after a long flight so we opted for the "Pick 4" meal (ribs, brisket, chicken, and pulled pork) along with their "Brisket Burnt Ends." The amount of food that was received (along with the sides) was enough to feed a family 6!!! The smoke rings on the ribs and brisket was pronounced with the proper flavors to match. I requested our meats not be topped with sauce so that I could actually taste the quality of the smoke flavor along with the tenderness; it did not disappoint. There are bottles of their BBQ sauce on the table so you can put it on the meats if you so desire. The chicken was very tender and flavorful as well; don't be alarmed at the "pinkish" color of the chicken as it is thoroughly cooked. The burnt ends were also very good but they were slathered with their BBQ sauce. Blue Smokehouse & Bar has modern amenities so you don't get that feeling of an old school feeling BBQ joint. Wow, this was a delicious experience from start to finish! We were passing through the area and decided to stop in after reading the positive reviews. We were immediately greeted by a young man who asked us if we had been in before. After responding "no", he told us that we were welcome to order at the counter, have a seat at one of the booths and scan a QR code for a menu or sit at the bar for full service. It wasn't busy so we decided to sit at the bar. We were greeted by Natanya who took our drink orders and provided us menus. Our first impression was that the space was very well taken care of and very clean. We were Natanya's only customer and she was busy stocking the bar supplies. We decided to start with a couple of sides since the items we wanted (French fries and onion rings) were not on the appetizer menu. My wife ordered the brisket burger with the corn casserole as her side. I chose the pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese. Our fries and onion rings arrived quickly and looked crisp and delicious. We were also given a small carrier with various barbecue sauces and ketchup. Our burger, sandwich and sides arrived just as we were finished with our appetizers and both looked great but the brisket burger was beautiful! The main meals were so tasty and portions were good. The brisket burger was very tasty and the collard greens were the best I have had in a long time. I used the mustard-based sauce on the pulled chicken and it was very tasty. The cornbread casserole had a hint of sweet and the collards had a nice "bitterness" to it that I loved. Smoked wings and burnt ends as apps were delicious. Ranch and bleu cheese weren't great but not terrible. Ordered the combo dinner. Bone in chicken was delicious alongside the ribs. The brisket wasn't anything to write home about and as far as sides onion rings are top notch and collards are also great. Wasn't a fan of the green bean casserole or Mac and cheese. Girlfriend ordered the pulled chicken and loved it and the kids liked their chix tenders and fries. Overall food was very good and our waitress was really nice and attentive. Today I held my husbands 50th birthday party out on the patio of Blue Smokehouse. We've ordered takeout from here since they opened but never have we eaten there to experience the staff and service. So we were taking a little gamble on such a big day. Fast forward to the party. I arrived early to setup decorations and to my surprise there were signs up stating the patio would be closed for a private event. I was so happy they took the time to do this (it's the little things). Hannah our main waitress and her manager (His name is Kyle I think) were awesome. As well as everyone we encountered (bartender was a young lady with a name that started with an N, maybe). They thought of everything from how and when to bring the food out so it would be hot and fresh to having an additional server come out and help with drink orders. I can't believe they did not charge me for the space. The patio is huge! We had so much space to mingle, sit and eat and plenty of room for our buffet and cake. Speaking of buffets, the food was on point!!! Everyone raved about the spread of wings, ribs, Mac and cheese, potato salad, cornbread and garden salad. This place used to be so good, but the last two times we went was horrible. Mac and cheese was so over cooked and apparently reheated because the noodles were mushy and it was dry and sticky. The cornbread casserole was a big mushy mess. The bbq was ok after adding sauce to juice it up a bit. We were very disappointed since it had once been a favorite of ours. Have heard good things about this place, and figured I would stop in for lunch as I was in the area. The restaurant is located in the end unit of a strip center with an outdoor seating area. The space is fairly open with a fair amount of seating and a "U" shaped bar. There are doors that open to an outdoor seating area. Nice open space, even if a bit lacking in character We had limited interactions with the waitstaff as we were able to order and pay off of the app. The waiter seemed on top of things and friendly when he brought our food and drinks. They had 6 - 8 beers on tap, only a couple of which were craft or local offerings. They also have a full bar menu of cocktails and spirits. I would have given them 5 stars if the beer menu had been a bit more expansive The food was terrific, the onion rings were the best I've had in a long time. The pulled pork was very good and the Smoked Pork Collard Greens were great. Looking forward to going back to try other items on the menu!
