purchased a pair of fairly expensive shoes here. The quality of the product, despite what "appeared" to be on the high end, was just terrible. The only thing worse, and more disappointing was the reaction and treatment when we returned to address the questionable quality. Long to short, the shoes were taken back without a refund to be "returned to the manufacturer" to explore the issue. Was told they would contact us when returned. Fast forward 3 weeks after hearing nothing... We stop in to get an update only to find the shoes were never sent out, no explanation except to represent they addressed the issue by brushing the shoes reducing, but not resolving the issue. This is a hack job, terrible business. Run, do not walk from this place... Or purchase at your own risk... You have been warned. Fools Gold of shoe spots. I suppose that's what I get for wandering in and trying to steal his DVD of Limitless while he was asleep. Anyhow, I remembered the old man's words and realized that, if I was going to become more like Ryan Gosling, I'd have to upgrade my shoes (and maybe drive a getaway car). I entered Blue Sole Shoes based on the 5 star Yelp reviews and I gotta say, I will never buy nice shoes at a department store as long as this establishment exists. It's a small joint but the quality they carry is top notch. the brands they carry are fancy and I've never heard of them. What's more important, though, is that you will impress women if you buy from this establishment. I can't emphasize this enough. Unless you're part of an elite cadre of men, most ladies know way more about shoe quality than you do. Many of them will judge you for it, whether they admit it or not. It's awesome if you're a dude with intimate knowledge of shoe design, but the rest of us would wear New Balances if they weren't literal vagina repellant. I got a pair of shoes here for under 150 and I literally cannot stop getting compliments from strangers. I've even stopped kicking peoples' asses because I don't wanna scuff 'em. I got a FLY pair of boots that I'm positive I won't see anyone else wearing. Steve had to order them from the vendor and I had to wait a few days, but I think these will last me for years to come. There's less than a handful of places online that have them. I'm happy I stopped in because I was already on a mission to get something else from somewhere else. Another 5 star review for this amazing shoe store on 18th and Chestnut. Small store with men's shoes only, but women seem to enjoy it here as well, as long as they love looking at shoes. Blue Sole has many custom-made shoes which are exclusive to this store (from Spain and Portugal). They have bench made shoes, and hand painted shoes. Service is great as well. read more

Every one of the shoes feel one of a kind. They only keep one pair in only a few sizes of every shoe in the store. I've bought a few pairs from here over the years and I've never seen anyone else wearing my pair. They all feel unique to me and they are truly my favorite shoes. read more

Steve saved the day and made a really bad business trip wonderful. A hungry escalator tore my shoe after getting off the Acela. I needed a pair of shoes immediately. I was given Blue Sole Shoes address and was on my way. I found a great pair of Joe Ghost boots that were cutting edge, in my size and easy to do city walking in. The soles were really slippery and I could not risk falling in them, so I asked Steve if he could have new soles put on the boots. He made a few calls and said come back in a hour and the boots would be ready. I was really impressed that he actually had someone come in, pick up the shoes and assured me that they would be ready when i came back from lunch. I went walking around the city in a flapping shoe, had a great lunch, came back and the boots were ready. I called him a shoe God and thanked him greatly for the service that he provided. This is the model for how to do business correctly. I had went to Boyd's but they did not offer or even suggest where I could have this same service performed in a couple of hours. I really am impressed with his complete business style. It is not about just the sale, sometimes more is needed and he does the more with ease. read more

I came into the store a few months ago while in Philly for work and I'm so glad I decided to stop while I was walking by. It's taken me a while but I just got on to his website for the first time.
