My husband and I had seen Danny's photo work first-hand in the import auto scene (I'm a 2013 Scion FRS owner) and knew we wanted Danny to be our photographer for our wedding day in November 2013. I know, I know... this review is LONG overdue... we've had a baby since then, though, so at least I kinda' have an excuse... lol. Danny was our main shooter and shot our girls getting ready and Doug was our second shooter and shot our boys getting ready until we all came together for the Vietnamese Tea ceremony at my mom's house. We had 3 different locations -- my mom's house in Yorba Linda for the Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, the Rose Garden Estate also in Yorba Linda for the American Wedding Ceremony, and Grand Garden Restaurant in Westminster for our Wedding Reception. Danny and Doug were early everywhere and made sure everything was perfect to get all their amazing photos at each location. They captured all our day's best moments, got lots of really great candid shots, and even were able to accommodate our last minute request for individual guest entrance photos with the us, the bride & groom. When Danny & Doug encountered unforeseen issues with their printer, they immediately ran to get the photos printed locally to ensure they were ready before our guests left for the evening--and I didn't even noticed anything was different because everything happened so smoothly. When we asked to use my car for our Save the Date shoot, Danny happily obliged and the pictures turned out great! Our engagement photos were also fantastic--Danny really has an eye for making you look good on film. All of our photos are incredible and as a testament to how great Danny's work is, one of my bridesmaids also went with Danny for their own wedding the following year. If you're on the fence about whether you should splurge on wedding photography--don't be. When all is said and done, all you'll have is your memories--and all the beautiful photos to help you remember how incredibly awesome your wedding day was. We just had our wedding a couple of weeks ago and we are excited to share our experience with Blue Soul Photo. Danny is very animated, professional, and his personality was radiating! For a wedding photographer, not only are you looking for a person with photography skills but you are also looking for a great personality - you will be with that person for many hours (especially if it is an Asian wedding, it can be up to 10-12 hours). We are very grateful to have found him and used his services - our wedding was on a very rainy day, he and his second photographer, Doug, were very accommodating, had plenty of ideas, and made me + husband very at ease! This review is long overdue! We hired Blue Soul Photography for my daughter's first birthday last January. Our theme was Alice in Wonderland/Mad Tea Party, and we were looking for a photographer who could capture all of our candid and not-so-candid moments of the special day since it was going to be very colorful in every way possible. Blue Soul Photography was recommended to us by a friend, and hiring them was the best decision ever! Since our event had such a prominent theme, I was planning to give our photographer a list of all of the shots we wanted. I made a bunch of decorations and wanted to stage some shots as well. However, with the craziness of party-planning, the shot list was something I did not get to do. I was a bit bummed about it... until I saw the photos that Danny took. He got all of the details, all of the hard work I put into the party, in addition to getting all of the precious, candid moments from our guests. The photos were beautiful and artistic. He didn't just document the event; he created art and a story with it. All of the photos we received were beautiful and well thought-out. (I totally wish we had used Blue Soul for our wedding but that was forever ago, and we didn't know about them back then.) Before I end up rambling on, let me highlight the main reasons why I recommend Blue Soul: * They're good, like really good. Photos are so beautiful. Shots look so natural. * Good communication and reliable. They respond to any questions/concerns quickly via email or text message. * Very easy to work with. Open to ideas/suggestions without getting offended, and they actually listen! (I've worked with another photographer in the past that was so stuck in "his style" that he totally did not capture our true personalities on camera.) * Quick turnaround time. * They're ninjas. Danny did an awesome job on my headshots for my new business. I use them on my website and other social media and depend on them to convey a good image to potential clients. Danny was super accommodating during the shoot. He let me take my time to get comfortable in front of the camera, and was very patient with me while getting the exact lighting and poses I envisioned. He even had a special assistant to help with super small details like hair placement, positioning jewelry (making sure my necklace was placed just so), and making sure nothing was in my teeth! Every few shots, Danny would let me review them on the camera to make sure it was what I'd wanted. Our session went much longer than I had anticipated because Danny was such a perfectionist. I felt like he really cared whether I was satisfied with the outcome or not. I received the proofs from the shoot the very next day. Danny was very generous and offered for me to choose my favorite shots, which he touched up. He sent photos which were high resolution enough for me to make a 6 foot tall banner out of these photos. This review has been way overdue!!! I am grateful that my family have had the pleasure of working with both Danny and Geoff. I love them so much that they have been our photographers since the beginning of my life's journey with my husband. Danny documented our engagement photos and wedding. It's always awkward trying to pose and smile on demand especially for my husband because he's camera shy, but Danny knew all the tricks to get the perfect picture at the most perfect time. We had a blast during our two separate shoots. The second shoot we had our dog Charley join us. I remember it was a hot day and since we had the dog, Danny made sure to already know the spots so we wouldn't need to walk around much. When charley poo during our little hike, Danny even went out of his duty to help us pick up the poo so we didn't have to get out of our pose. What a great gentleman!!! We had so much fun during our engagement session we knew we wanted Danny again for our wedding. Our wedding was a crazy hectic day filled with so many stops and events. I was so overwhelm by everything both my husband and I don't even remember most of the day. Thanks to Danny, he took many pictures and they ALL came out great. He truly capture the essence of the day and thank god we didn't go cheap with our photographer. He went above and beyond. He set up props, tables and chairs and even put them right back after he was done. Both him and his assistant was the superman of phototogs. They did not miss a beat. I absolutely would recommend Blue Soul Photography to anyone who is looking for photographers! I hired Danny and Geoff to photograph my wedding last September and I would say they were my most favorite vendors to work with. My main communication was with Danny and he was super professional, very dependable, and patient. I think it's difficult being photographers especially wedding photographers but they handled all of my requests (and the many requests from our families with ease and a sense of humor!). I had a very long wedding day, complete with Chinese tea ceremony in the morning, American ceremony in the afternoon, and reception that lasted until 1am. They were pretty much with us the entire time. I have a huge family full of typical Asian moms who wanted a picture of everything and everyone with every background possible, and they totally accomodated everyone. Needless to say my parents were very pleased (thank god!). I also thought they were really great at direction. I'd been to other weddings where the photographers were terrible at telling us where to stand and what to do, but with Danny and Geoff you felt you were in good hands and they were very prepared. They even scouted out the location before hand and did all of the set up shots earlier in the day so it didn't interrupt our flow. The photographers of Blue Soul Photo are absolutely wonderful. Not only are they talented, but they are great to be around. During our engagement shoot, as well as on our wedding day, they made us feel comfortable and didn't rush us. They do whatever it takes to get the shot, even if it means they have to lay on the dirty ground! And they're so funny too, so they keep the photo shoots fun as well! During our engagement shoot, it was so hot out because it was during the Summer, but they were troopers the entire day. Not once did they complain, and they were always so positive and always found ways for us to also still be in good spirits even though it became tiring posing for the whole day, changing out props, and changing outfits as well! We never knew it was so hard to be a model! On our wedding day, they not only showed up on time, but they were all dressed so sharp and professional with their dress shirts and ties. We were also able to get a photo booth through them, in which they set up a photo booth area with all of the props, and they print the photos out on the spot for all of the guests. Everyone had a blast at the photo booth that they provided! My husband and I were expecting our first baby and had chosen Danny of Blue Soul Photo to do our maternity shoot. It is such a privilege to work with Danny. He not only did an amazing job on our photos, but he is had them edited for us within the week. Danny is not only extremely talented, but he is also very patient, funny, and responsible. I remember on the day of the photo shoot, we were suppose to meet at the location of the photo session. Danny got there earlier than us and had already explore the place to see which areas are best for the photos to be taken since he has not been there before and also because he knew I was far along into my pregnancy and knew that I would be tired if I had to walk around so much. This shows that he is responsible and caring and he takes his job very seriously. Then, for one photo, Danny wanted one of the benches to face a certain way to better capture the picture, so he had to move it. After the pictures was taken, he moved the bench back to where it was previously. This shows a lot of character, and it shows how respectful he is of other people's property.
