I just got my passport photo taken here! Jenny took my photo, and she was respectful and kind throughout the entire process. This studio is SUPER knowledgeable on the rules and regulations required from not only the U.S. passport photo guidelines, but also other countries as well. The service was not only pleasant, but also very quick. The session took about 15 minutes and another 15 to do minute touch ups/processing. If you slightly need more time to adjust, they will work with you! The results were professional, and clean! Overall, this studio has excellent service for passport photos! They are not your typical drugstore photography processing centers that offer passport photos. I highly recommend this studio as they are ridiculously accommodating and patient while doing your photos! I will definitely let others know this place if they need their photos taken. Wow, it has been a really long time since I updated my review but here we go! One of my relatives passed suddenly so we had an urgent need for a formal photo of her for her services. None of the pictures we had on hand were suitable so we turned to Henry W. who shot our family portraits a decade ago for help. Henry was a lifesaver because we had less than 7 days to the service and he provided white glove customer service in performing a miracle. He was able to quickly locate her photos and offered services to photoshop the other people out in a portrait, print, and mount within two days. We were in constant contact, keeping my nerves calm that this portrait was going to be done on time. Again, Henry was so pleasant and personable -- made the grieveing process a little bit better. I am really happy I found Lucy's Photo Studio. I've driven by it for YEARS since I was a kid but never went in. All the equipment there is very professional. I needed my passport picture taken and Jenny did a fantastic job in directing me on how to pose to get the best possible angle. She was so patient and made sure that I LOVED my photos. Came in here this afternoon with my sister in law to dress shop (for her, not me). When we arrived, we were acknowledged and told to walk to the next room to see the wedding dresses. On one side, you see a row of dresses that are available for renting. On the other side, you see a row of dresses to purchase. I thought the dresses all looked beautiful, but unfortunately my sister in law didn't see anything that she wanted to try on (but this was one of the 1st shops we stopped in along Las Tunas and so I don't think she quite warmed up to the dress shopping routine quite yet). Anyways, the room with all the dresses is pretty spacious and the dressing rooms that I could see looked pretty big. The lady who was helping us in the room (unfortunately I did not get her name) spoke pretty good English and she didn't pressure us to trying anything on and was quite friendly. Wedding gown rental: borderline mediocre-bad customer service, limited dress selection, best package pricing- $480 for 3 dresses LONG VERSION: Photography: Even though we did not use this co for our engagement photos, the customer service was outstanding. My initial phone conversation with Henry was great; he was very informative. When my fiance and I went in to look over the types of packages they had, they were well prepared and answered all of our questions. Just like if you were taking photos in Taiwan, the packages includes makeup/hair and outfits. They have 3 types of packages, prices range from $888 - $2688. Renting wedding gown: I showed up a year before my wedding hoping to look at some dresses but I was told by Mandy to come back 6 months out before my wedding :( That was rather discouraging considering the fact that other places on Las Tunas at least let me try on the dresses and put a down payment a year out.... Even though my first visit was disappointing, the price of it made me come back 6 months later... 3 dress for $480 which included altering the length, veil, and petticoat. What can I say? I love a good deal! Fast forward to earlier this month, I have returned since it is 6 months out from my wedding. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon with my mom & sister (no appointment necessary was what I was told) but was not greeted by anyone. A lady was just standing there... didn't even bother to come over to see if we needed anything... 10 minutes later, Mandy comes into the room where there were 3 rows of wedding gowns. We were told that only dresses furthest on the left side of the room against the wall was available for rent... which meant there goes 2/3 of their selections. Then she said I would have to look for dresses that is near my size since all they do is alter the length.. So if your normal dress size is anywhere around an XS or S... be prepared to find virtually nothing... There were literally just about 4 dresses that was my size.. out of the 4, only 2 was decent. I tried it on anyways since we were already there. Mandy did come in and help with the dress, which was a plus. However, the dresses were just meh. Even though the price was what brought me back, the lack of selection was what drove me away. read more

So finally she picked three dresses which dis not fit and then the staff informed my friend that the dresses on the rack are the last dress, they no longer make the dress, and there's no way for her to tailor the dress. WTH, thanks for wasting our time. You could've told us that from the beginning. If you want to get high blood pressure then come here because the staff will definitely make your blood boil. Henry did both my engagement and wedding photos, and both turned out AMAZING! We were so happy and pleased with them, and we got our wedding photos with about 2 weeks, and we got A LOT of them. He was so great with my wedding party and everything flowed smoothly with him. I also had a videographer and they worked so well together that you wouldn't think it was the first time they met. 3/18/08 Will have a better review up tmr. 3/25/08 gosh, it seems like yelp is the bane of my academic career! now that spring break is over, i'm back at yelp... anyways, great place for wedding photos. i came here for a local magazine shoot back in high school and the place was really professional that my mom recommended it to her friend who was getting married. when the first of my high school friends was getting married, he, his fiance, his sister, one of our high school friends, and i went walking down this street, looking at all the wedding photography places and in the end, he settled on this one. a bit costly but a very good deal. for my friend's wedding pictures, they took him to different locations for the shoot. there were some crazy awesome costumes as well! japanese/shonen kind of outfits, chinese, traditional american, pretty outfits... great stuff. ask me if you want to see sample pictures :) i highly recommend this place. oh yeah, one of my high school friends also came here for prom pictures. but, she had her dress made in vietnam to copy a wedding dress she saw so it looked like a wedding picture, without a groom. lol. great place! Horrible place. They will scam your $. My 7 months pregnant wife and I came here to document this significant moment of our life. It was part of our company program for a free photo shooting. Since the photos came out not too bad we decided to purchase for few selections (they were not cheap). But when we went back to pick up the prints we were told that we cannot get the files for pictures we already paid for. How am I suppose to post on our Facebook or share with our families oversea through email? They ask us to pay more for extra prints or $50 per file. I understand that they won't give us files for everything we shoot. But how about the ones I already paid hundreds of dollars for? Now I have to pay additional $300 for additional 6 files?? I am sure I can spent my money better else where. read more

I really wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in this place, but with the cost of wedding dresses, I went in to find out. I figured there would be dresses lavishly covered in sequins and beads and various other things that I couldn't imagine myself wearing, but I did find some dresses that suited my style. Maggie helped me throughout the entire process and was absolutely wonderful. The one thing that was weird was that they wouldn't allow me to take any photos. Apparently many bridal shops do this, but then its really hard to be excited to tell someone you found your dress when you can't show them a picture of it! Lucy's is divided into 3 main sections, the first is the photography area, then wedding dresses, after that you will find evening gowns, ethnic dresses and bridesmaid dresses. It's pretty large and you have plenty of room to browse dresses, 2 large fitting gowns to fit yourself and a few others, and seating for those who you drag along. Wedding dresses first of course! I only looked at the rental area as thats what I intended to do. Buying comes with so many hidden costs that it ends up being a heftier price than what is on the tag. Dresses here rent for $300-$500 depending with alterations, cleaning and a veil included! Yeah!!!! Most dresses were not my style at all, heavily decorated, but I found a few that I wanted to try on. And the first one I tried on was perfect for me! An older Maggie Sottero that had obviously been worn many times (the tag was quite worn) but was in very good shape. To make that better, it would only be $300 for rental! I was definitely glad that my aunt and cousin were both with me as they had to help tie up the corset back. Next, I looked through their Chinese dresses. I didn't find any to my liking and I found the styles to be older. There was only one style that looked younger, a halter dress with leg slits on either side, but it still didn't work for me. There were indeed dresses decked out head to toe in sequins if that's what you're looking for. These were all of good quality but I didn't ask what price they rented them out at. Their selection of bridesmaids dresses are only for purchase and is pretty small. Two or three small racks only. I only briefly looked through these. The last thing we all looked at was their photography packages. We were only interested in the wedding photos not engagement. Henry Wang is their main photographer and does great work. Unfortunately they don't split their time at all and charge for mileage for any travel. Price-wise they were competitive though. To rent the dress, I had to pay $150 then and then the rest plus tax when I would pick up the dress 3 days before my wedding date. Two weeks before then I would come in to have the dress altered and pick a veil. Lucy's definitely made it really easy to find a dress I liked and to save money too! If only they had more modern chinese dresses then I would be done with that too! Yeah! Got my wedding dress! read more

If you need someone to shoot pics of you ALL DAY LONG at Disneyland, go here! Henry, the photographer, suggested to meet at Disneyland around 11 but my wife wanted to be there at 9. I thought for sure Henry would say no but he didn't and met us early. Well in the back of my mind I figured if we are doing this earlier, he will probably try to weasel his way out early but nope! I think he wanted to stay there much longer than we were prepared to. We were there from morning to night and Henry made sure we were able to capture all the moments that we wanted. If you want someone who cares as much (in my case probably more) as you about having great looking pics than go here. Never did I get that feeling where they just wanted my money and that's it. I've spent I think 4 whole days doing different photo shoots and each time I have this feeling that they want to do the best they can. Yes, they did such a great job that we never bothered looking elsewhere for pictures later on. Also, if you have that annoying aunt who takes her iPad to shoot pictures of your wedding ceremony while blocking everyone's view & nobody has the balls to tell her to sit down, then Henry is your man to ninja himself into position to crop her out of your pictures while still being able to capture that magic moment. As far as some of these reviews, you're paying for a service, not freaking card stock & digital files. If you want to pay Walmart prices for photos to display on your wedding or a family portrait in your living room than use your buddy with the camera phone, don't hire a photographer with experience. read more

Lucy's is basically our one stop shop for our wedding. We are going with them for tux rentals (with shoes), photobooth, and photography.. with Henry Wang. We already did our engagements with Henry and they looked amazing! We even used 2 of his shots to design our wedding invitations (photoshopped a few things here and there to make it creative and add a twist to them). Excellent staff to help us with everything we needed: Jenny helped us out with the dress rentals for our parents and the bride, tux rentals for me and my groomsman. Something new they're providing now is a photobooth! Of course we had to go with them for the booth too! Mr. Henry Wang is the best wedding photographer ever. He shot our wedding back in July '11 and went above and beyond what was expected of him. From the very beginning, we met him at the studio on Christmas Day in '10, and decided to book his services for our wedding because he had a casual professionalism that put us at ease. Being able to easily converse with him in English, and communicating with my Mom in Mandarin made it very easy to be on the same page. When the wedding was fast approaching, his extensive experience with weddings shone through as he guided us through building our schedule for the day. He knew how long portraits should take or when we should do certain things. On the day of the wedding, he catered to us, and helped us pin boutineers, pose, and even teach us how to cut a wedding cake. He became a genuine friend instead of someone who came and left according to contract. We also used their new photobooth service, which was AMAZEBALLS. Everyone, even the old parents, LOVED the photobooth, all the numerous props, and scrapbook. It was amazing to be able to get a completed scrapbook and cd filled with all the images from the booth at the end of the night! Talk about instant gratification! We absolutely loved the photobook we ordered with Henry. It was a breeze to select the pictures and rearrange his layout through the online tool, and the end result sure is a gem. All in all, we loved that Lucy's is a family business, and that Henry used to shoot alongside his dad when he was little. We were recommended to check out Lucy's Bridal after a recommendation from Flower Mart across the street. If the owners of Flower Mart (people who are in the wedding industry & are located on Las Tunas with the hundreds of other wedding photographers) trusted Henry (the photographer for Lucy's Bridal) to take pictures of their daughter's wedding then he must be the real deal. Well that recommendation by Flower Mart was around Nov 2012 (yes, I'm very late with this review) and as of Jan 2014, we have commissioned Henry to do our engagement, wedding, maternity, family portrait, passport & I'm sure we will be giving them much more of our business in the future. We also ended up renting my dress, my husbands tux & they helped with recommendations in DJ & makeup artists for our wedding. To say they have been a big help and help relieve much needed stress is an understatement. I can't say enough of the job that Henry, Jenny and the rest of the staff does. WOW! Henry is a great photographer!!! I just had my wedding and engagement photo session with my fiance and the pictures were awesome. There were so many to choose from. I was worried that the pictures wouldn't come out right or I wouldn't have enough for my slide show, but that was not a problem. Some photographers that arent great might have that problem, but Henry didn't. The hair and make up girl named Renee who worked on me made me feel amazing and she was able to replicate exactly what I wanted. The seamstress was also able to hem and sew in the dresses that I picked really quickly. Everyone was quick and professional. Henry was also so patient and kind to allow me to bring both my dogs to the session as well, and their pictures turned out great too!!! I recently used Lucy Bridal for my wedding on 12-12-12. Our photographer Henry Wang was fantastic! His prices were reasonable, and he worked hard to get some great photos for us on the wedding day. Prior to the wedding, he spent time communicating with us about what we would need to know about the day of wedding photos. The family photos were pretty chaotic, but he did a great job of keeping us and our guests (and our dog) in check. I especially liked the direction on how to pose and where to look as I would never have known what to do without his advice. came here on a Sunday around 3:30PM w two girlfriends and the place was empty. the place appeared appealing and clean. we were greeted by a lady who called for assistance. we were shown the bridal gowns but told that the bride could only try on three dresses (apparently a rule for the weekend to minimize the wait for the crows). service was not up to par... and the ladies were not too friendly. you would think that places like this would be more than happy to provide you the utmost customer service and be willing to assist you as best as they could, but we got the opposite. there did not seem to be much selection of bridal dresses. and the ones available were older styles that could not be ordered for customization or to fit your size. majority of dresses were a size 6. the lady failed to mention that the only dresses that could be ordered for other sizes were the wedding dresses on the manikin. i would say, save your time and find another bridal shop to look for dresses. brides should feel special throughout this process, and they certainly did not exude that. read more

My wife and I had a great experience and photo day with Henry and Jenny. We went to Disney Concert Hall, Pasadena City Hall, and studio; all in one day. To me, their photos are more natural and artistic. Not like what we saw at previous studios, where they were "FOBby" and had lots of obvious digital alterations/air brush probably done by a 13 year old girl. Our pictures turned out great, which I thought was quite fair for the price of our package. The day of the shoot was long but fun. Henry and Jenny, were easy to talk to about what we wanted. If I could give this place a zero I would. I came here 11-12-11 and wanted to look at some wedding dresses. At first they were nice and let us browse through the dresses since we didn't have an appointment. But then they became HORRIBLE when I had asked to try on some dresses. When I asked the lady that I wanted to try one of the dresses they had on display they were quick to point out that these dresses were $1200-1600. Ok not a problem I didn't mind the price. I told her ok I still wanted to try them on. Again she was quick to respond but this time she said "oh these dresses are not in your size. If u like we can order for you but u can't try them on because they're too small. U can't fit. U can't they them on". Umm OMG WTF?? Seriously?! Really?! First I didnt care about the price because it was in my price range. They didn't even bother to ask what my price range was Second why would I order a dress that I can't try on. Even if it is pretty on the hanger how would i know if it's pretty on me And third I do realize that I don't fit into some sample size. I can fit into them but they dont fully zip up. Which is ok since I just wanna know how the dress looks on. And I've tried on dresses where they don't Zip up elsewhere but I was able to see how I looked in them. So I had the most HORRIBLE time to say the least. Not only did they insult me by trying to scare me off by telling me the price as if I wouldn't be able to afford it.
