Honestly was not a big fan of this place. As soon as we walked in they looked at us like "oh great". We were a group of 10 and they were one of the 2 places in town still open for dinner (at 8pm). When we walked past the bar they mumbled about our group size. The food was just okay. It tastes extremely greasy. I didn't have high expectations or anything, just needed something quick to eat

The bar. Our bartender to the left is AWESOME! Pours some greats drinks.

Came here both nights we were staying in Packwood. This place pours some hella good drinks, very strong and well worth the price. Staff is very friendly and prompt to take your order. A nice lowkey vibe for when you're passing through. Highly recommend.

Your food was delicious. The service was really fast. The music that was playing was nostalgic. The ambience was really cool.

We were staying in town that night and stopped here for a bite to eat. It's a typical bar/grill setting, with juke box music playing and tv's showing a ball game. Our server was friendly and checked on us several times during our meal. Our meals were cooked just right, both the ribeye steak and the grilled chicken. Both meats were flavorful and moist. My chicken came covered with yummy mushrooms and onions. The meals came with a nice sized dinner salad, a roll, and either potato or mixed veggies. I chose the veggies and they were still just a tad crunchy, not mushy like you sometimes get in a restaurant. If we lived in this area, we would eat here regularly.

Side entrance. Pool, TVs with sports, darts, music.

Yes, the Blue Spruce Saloon is a dingy dark dive. Yes, we have witnessed the staff shout across the room at each other and customers. Yes, there are limited food options in Packwood since it's a small pass-through village without a single stop light but here's the deal, it doesn't matter. The food isn't 5-star but it's great for a dive bar. The appetizer list is extensive with plenty of options, the main menu has something for everyone (hot & cold sandwiches, burgers, wraps, steaks, and salads). Hubs is a sucker for a Reuben and devoured theirs along with the thick potato salad. Oh! And the pie, delicious. We've been here several times. There are rules of what can be played on the juke box, we enjoyed the pull-tabs, had a couple beers, and a couple cocktails. We will definitely stop here again on our way through.

My family had ordered a varied option. The cheese sticks and marinara were not the best to be nice. The families sandwiches were ok but I ordered the Prawn dish. My "prawns" were GFS butterflied shrimp. Same crap you get at a typical FF joint. Completely false advertising. I believe the menu was deceptive!! The place was decent but the lights were so low you couldn't tell if it's dirty or just old inside. The wait staff was blunt but was still unable to communicate what size/weight the chicken chunks were. "Like it's a whole basket full"..... like what kinda basket??? I'm typically a good tipper but geez. Had to ask for my bill after 15 mins and I was told to hang on. Bare minimum 15.

Such a great pit stop on US 12 with a delicious menu! It was decorated for Christmas when we stopped which was so festive and pretty! The staff were friendly and attentive! We met some locals and learned some history of the town, so fun! We had a pastrami sandwich and a chicken wrap, both with side salads. Everything was great!

Blue Spruce Saloon is dive bar where you'll see a lot of the locals at. The service was serviceable, haha. I got the Fish and Chips, the fries were gas and the Cod was good too. It didn't knock my socks off but it was solid. Almost gave it 5 stars just because it was karaoke night which was very fun to experience. Overall if you're in Packwood hit this spot up.

I loved everything here that matters! The patty melt was amazing, I subbed sourdough instead of rye. The potato salad is different but awesome! If you like pickles, get it! The fries and wrap were great as well. Server was fast and efficient. Bathrooms were clean. That's all you can ask for!

Dive bar with below average food. Fortunate for them is that there is nothing else better (other than cruisers pizza ) to pick from in town

First, the girl who helped me was incredibly kind, helpful, and just effortlessly welcoming (also--stunning, which matched the whole vibe of the place). The food? Genuinely top tier. The mushroom Alfredo was hands down the best I've had in my life. I've actually tried recreating it since I got home and... humbling experience. Not even close. The macarons were perfect, the stump cake is ideal if you want dessert without it being overly sweet, and the cheese Danish tasted way more authentic than the usual overly sugary versions (definitely not your typical Starbucks situation). Everything was hearty, filling, and just really, really good. One of those places you randomly stop at and then think about later like... wait, why was that so good? Would absolutely go back.

If I could split up my ratings for food and service, I'd give the food 4 stars and the service 1…read more Our party of 9 ordered the borscht, rib eye, bbq ribs, mac and cheese, salmon, and an assortment of pirogies -- no complaints there. Great flavors and textures, the meats were all nicely done (tender and flavorful), and the soup was delicious. So if you could just get the food to go, I'd recommend this place...but definitely not for dining in. First off, I've worked in a restaurant and in retail, so I really value and respect great customer service. I also understand that summer is a busy season here -- and with two servers and one hostess, everyone was working hard. That said, you could still have good service while being busy. In our case, the servers just never seemed friendly. One of their first comments was that our tip would automatically be included given our party size -- which, in our case, was $50 that they didn't deserve. Receiving "service" from the staff is a generous comment. Doing the bare minimum for us seemed to be painful for them. Most of our food (minus two dishes) came out at the same time, and then we had to ask for napkins and silverware. We didn't want to keep asking our server for things since she was so busy, so we held off from asking for the last two dishes. But when the rest of us were close to finishing our meals, we finally brought it up -- to three people. One person said she'd check since she was heading to the kitchen; she came back out a minute later and walked right past our table. Finally the third person we asked said the kitchen was JUST starting to make the dishes, "because the restaurant has been so busy," she said. Odd, given that we got all our other dishes 30-40 minutes prior, and other people who came later were being served. There was no apology at all. One dish came out and 15 minutes later, our server asked if we still wanted the last dish. We said no. Meanwhile, we also needed more water. I watched a server giving refills at each table around ours. She made eye contact with me and then walked past our table to refill other tables. Same kind of treatment when we asked for the bill. I'm just appalled by the poor customer service, which was mentioned in a few other reviews. That experience overshadowed the good food and beautiful setting.

We arrived around lunchtime, and got seated right away. Both the exterior and interior had a rustic vibe, with a wood stove and beautiful wall mural of the mountain. I started with a Hot Cider to warm up, which really hit the spot. My friend and I ordered the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich (daily special) to share, as well as a slice of the famous Blackberry Pie. The Chicken Parmesan Sandwich was solid, but nothing too memorable. The cutlet was a little thick for my preference, but it got the job done. The real star, of course, was the Blackberry Pie! The texture of the crust was perfect and the filling tasted delightfully homemade. We got it without ice cream since it was chilly, but I'm sure it's fantastic with a scoop, as well! They also had some cute local gifts for sale, and I snagged a bar of artisan blackberry soap. Service was friendly and quick!

With its weathered sign and old-school charm, Spiffy's has the kind of roadside appeal that makes you hit the brakes. We tried a bit of everything: the Spiffy Burger and fries ( the burger was large and came cut in half with care!), a hot dog, a corn dog, and chicken tenders. Everything was perfectly cooked and generously portioned. ( the crinkle fries were crunchy on the outside and moist and hot inside - I do wish the portion size of fries was larger in the basket. The Spiffy Burger lives up to its reputation-- flavorful, and satisfying. The chicken tenders portion was large were a hit with the kids. Both boys tried the Cherry Coke shake of the month and expressed how good It was. Though it has a rustic look, don't let appearances fool you. The food is good, the prices are more than fair, and the staff is as friendly and welcoming as you could hope for. There's a reason this place draws in locals, travelers, and nearby workers alike. If you're anywhere near Morton, make time for a stop at Spiffy's. Whether you're craving a burger, a shake, or just a quick, satisfying bite--this spot delivers. The reasons for the 4 rating are : fry portion size in the basket and the burger although exactly what I expected but bigger, was out of the freezer and not homemade. Which is fine for a diner but makes this a 4.
