Best Borsch I've ever had, everything was delicious. Authentic food, flavorful, also great piroshkis.

I stopped at Paradise Village in Ashford during a Mount Rainier trip and honestly didn't expect it to be this good. First, the girl who helped me was incredibly kind, helpful, and just effortlessly welcoming (also--stunning, which matched the whole vibe of the place). The food? Genuinely top tier. The mushroom Alfredo was hands down the best I've had in my life. I've actually tried recreating it since I got home and... humbling experience. Not even close. The macarons were perfect, the stump cake is ideal if you want dessert without it being overly sweet, and the cheese Danish tasted way more authentic than the usual overly sugary versions (definitely not your typical Starbucks situation). Everything was hearty, filling, and just really, really good. One of those places you randomly stop at and then think about later like... wait, why was that so good? Like many people driving through Ashford, I had just gotten done with a very early morning of hiking at Rainier. I stopped here very hungry and desperate for a good hot meal after lots of trail food. This is a great option for a meal right near the park. Though a little overpriced, they have great options for a healthy (or sweet) meal anytime of day. Employees are very friendly and the vibe is quiet and quaint. Food was very solid with ample portions. It's a very cutesy interior with nice wooden trim everywhere, big wooden stools and tables, and a nice clean bathroom. My crepe had veggies and turkey, plus some cheese. Ratios were good and it was nicely seasoned. The cappuccino was decent. Pretty standard. Delicious honey cake! Not a dessert you can get everywhere in the U.S., so I was excited to order it. The only reason I don't put it at 5 stars is because it's overpriced. Everything is in this area of course, it's right by the park, and they can only really operate successfully during the months when the park is open. I would come back here to try their lunch and dinner service. And of course it's much better than fast food after a day of hiking. Be sure to stop by their lavender fields on your way out for some wonderful smells! read more

We got the chicken, salmon, lamb chops, burger, pasta, both salads, and the Borshct and everything was delicious!! Do not miss out on the lamb chops or the borscht. Stopped in for brunch after visiting the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad. I was in the mood for breakfast and ordered the veggie omelette which was tasty. My husband ordered the potato pirogies and Ukranian borsch- which is their specialty - and I have to say that was the right decision! While my omelette was good the pirogies were exceptional. Hubby loved his soup too. Don't bother ordering any other basic menu items - get what they make best. Mac n cheese was just ok. Service was not bad but also not great in the dining room. I had to walk over to the cafe to order an iced latte- they will not let you order coffee in the dining room. The gal in the coffee shop was lovely though. got a dinner reservation and was glad we did for a Saturday evening since it was quite busy. Unfortunately that reflected on the service: we stood and waited for a good 10 minutes before even being greeted by a hostess, despite ringing their bell. Once seated and ordered our food, the appetizer took more than a half hour to get to the table. The chicken pirogies were very tasty but not worth that long of a wait. Had to ask several times for water refill as well. The Borsch was served immediately with the pirogies despite being asked for it to be served with the piroshki, which came to the table a couple minutes after the other dishes. All in all quite disorganized for the food delivery. Other tables around us had steak and fish and were seated, served and finished before we even had our appetizer. The Borsch was good, nice flavor. If I can give it 1000/5 I definitely will! I always wanted to try this place. My husband and I planned a random mt rainier trip on Monday. And he accidentally put this place instead of Paradise Mt Rainier! And I was like that's the place I wanna try for the longest time!! What a coincidence and know that it's mean to go that day!!! We went around 4pm there weren't many people during that time. It looked very cozy cottage vibe. The server was nice! The only thing I didn't like is the high table chairs, very wobbly! But other than that everything is amazing! The food was so good! We got borscht, chicken Pel Meni, garlic potato Pierogies, kompot, honey cake, and chebureki!! I recommend everything! Loved it! Good food, but great interior and staff that really made the experience ++ after a good hike at Rainier. The attached bakery has some decadent treats and is open before the main restaurant opens at 3 (or at least that's how it worked the day we visited). Every dish was enjoyed, for sure. Standouts were the borscht (beet soup, and I'm not even the biggest fan of beets), peroshki appetizer, and surprisingly the apple kombucha was knockout! They should really bottle it up and sell it individually. A bit pricier, especially if you go for higher priced entrees, but i would also consider many items fairly priced. We were seated quickly by a very kind hostess who gave us choices of our preferred table. After being sat, service was quick and efficient. I really enjoyed the traditional Eastern European vibe of the place while still maintaining modern charm. We ordered a starter of Farmer Cheese Pierogi which was so rich and delicious. For mains, we did Chicken Alfredo and Ukrainian Gnocchi. Both were flavorful, rich, and a generous portion. While this restaurant was a bit on the expensive side, you have to consider its extreme proximity to Mt. Rainier National Park. We also didn't mind supporting a local, Ukrainian business! read more

Wanted to try some Ukrainian desserts so visited this place. The cafe was closed but the staff opened the cafe for us. I wanted to try the honey cake but it wasn't available. We ordered good hot chocolate and some small desserts that were yummy but we the cake that was recommended to us I think the Spartak we did not like it. Otherwise, everything else tasted fine. This ranks amongst the worst dining experience I've ever had. A dark haired woman in her forties was openly rude and dismissive, and the rest of the staff came across as disorganized, inattentive, and incompetent. Our group of 4 ordered two different beer brands. After about 30 minutes, we were told both brands were unavailable. We then ordered another brand, waited another 10 minutes for it, roughly 40 minutes total, and the beer arrived warm. The food was bland and forgettable. Staff showed an unpleasant attitude throughout and made little effort to fix any of it, refill our water, or bring a 4th place setting as our table only had 3. Given that this isn't a cheap restaurant, the lousy service and mediocre food were especially disappointing. At these prices, customers should expect better food and basic competence And common courtesy. What made the whole experience even more awful was a group that arrived after us and spoke Ukrainian with staff. The staff seemed to give that group noticeably more attentive treatment than we did. They even got their food before we did and they arrived a good 10 to 15 minutes after us. I can't say why, but the contrast was obvious and left us feeling overlooked. A long wait or mediocre food alone might be forgivable. But rudeness, unavailable drinks, a 40 minute wait for a warm beer, bland food, and general indifference all in one visit is too much. Cute spot for a post hike meal near Mt Rainier! The inside is super cozy and cute and the food I got was really hot and fresh. The service was a bit lacking but overall a good experience and I would come back to try more of the menu. I just got the chicken pierogis and they were great! read more

What a neat restaurant! The interior has such a cool vibe to it. The staff is kind and friendly. We got the gnocchi, chicken pierogi, and salad. It was suppose to be a Caesar but they were out. They were out of a handful of things which was a bummer, but the things we did get were delicious. The gnocchi dish was very delicious and the addition of the tomatoes that blistered in your mouth made for such a burst of flavor. The pierogis were exceptional and cooked beautifully. It's five stars relative to other restaurants in and near Paradise, WA that I've tried. We had a large group so ordered half the menu and returned the next day for more. Standouts were chicken skewers and cherry pierogis. Chicken was tender and smokey from the grill. Enjoyed the crispy potatoes and mixed sautéed vegetables with asparagus. I would have rated the restaurant 5 stars, but the service--particularly the coordination of the food in the kitchen--was not well synchronized. The concept sounded good. However, the execution was not. The appetizer was good. The entrees were not very good. The worst part of the meal was the terrible service. Twice we had to walk around the restaurant to find someone to assist us. Once was to get more water, after asking multiple times for our glasses to be refilled. This review is for their bakery as there isn't a listing on Yelp but it deserves a review. Opens daily at 7am. The server/cashier is kind, pleasant and efficient. The coffee is delicious and they do have Oatmilk as an option which is what I prefer. Portions are large and food is delicious. We loved it so much came back two days in a row. A cozy cute restaurant attach to the Paradise Village we stay. Staff are nice, shoutout to the young gentleman Sasha, he is really friendly and helps us a lot with the check in since we arrive earlier, and he is genuine to every one. We had fish and chips and garlic potato perogies for lunch here. I love my fish and chips a lot. The batter of fish wasn't greasy and the portion was perfect. Fair warning: on Saturday night, get a reservation. The parking lot was full, but we knew that was a good sign. As we waited for a seat, the party that was leaving raved about the restaurant & gave us the insider's scoop on what to order (which wasn't much help because they almost named the entire menu)! Then, we ordered the Farmer Cheese Pirogies as an appetizer, the Gnocchi for our main entree, & the Honey Cake for dessert. The Pirogies were good (they had a slight cheese flavor), but the stand-out was the Gnocchi! My family and I visited Mount Rainier and stayed in Ashford. After a long day in the snow, my daughter and I stopped by Paradise Village Restaurant for dinner. The ambiance is definitely a standout - rustic, elegant, yet casual, making it a lovely sit-down option in the area. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with an annex next door dedicated to breakfast service, making it versatile for any time of day. Service started off strong, with quick attention when we first arrived, but unfortunately, after our food was served, it fell flat. There was no follow-up to check on us, bring the bill, or offer boxes for leftovers. We waited for quite a while with no attention despite the restaurant not being very busy - there were several empty tables. Because of this lack of attentiveness, I'd dock a star. As for the food, it was hit or miss. My daughter had the fish and chips, which were standard and nothing extraordinary but still satisfying. The side salad, however, was fresh and enjoyable. I ordered the chicken shish kabob, which had good potential, but the chicken was slightly undercooked and could have used a few more minutes on the grill. The accompanying vegetables were perfectly crunchy, which I appreciated. The Armenian beer I tried wasn't to my liking as it had more of a kombucha-like taste - if you enjoy that flavor, it might be for you, but it wasn't for me. Overall, I'd give this place another try when I'm in the area, but I'd explore different menu items next time. If they can improve the service, it could easily earn higher marks! Absolutely not! Steer clear of this establishment---What they advertise on the menu is not what they are going to bring you. And when you question them about it, they make up some lame excuse And charge you anyway--- even though I questioned what they sat down instantly. The menu said hot salmon, cream cheese and capers - they brought cold salmon dip with a bunch of crackers. I told her this isn't what i ordered - I showed her "it says hot salmon, capers and cream cheese. This is cold, no capers and no salmon..." And then she ghosted me and charged me anyway. I will be doing a charge back. The bad thing is I am staying I their crappy little cabins for the next 3 days.... The whole place leavea a very bad taste in my mouth. We visited Paradise Village Hotel and Restaurant in Ashford, WA in late August, 2024. Located just a few miles from the entrance to Mt Rainer National Park (Paradise entrance), this is a convenient stop on your way to or from the park. There aren't many food choices in the area and, in fact, we saw quite a few guests from another nearby hotel patronizing this restaurant. The business is Ukrainian, with a restaurant providing cuisine from that country; a cafe that serves breakfast items (omelets, crepes, etc), pastries, coffee, tea, honeycombs, and lavender; wellness activities (including a traditional wood-fired hot tub; and bee therapy). They also offer 12 units of lodging and participate in Harvest Hosts (for members of that RV program). We visited the small cafe for breakfast. We split a vegetable omelet ($14.95), which featured spinach, tomato, red pepper, zucchini, and onion, and was served with pan-fried potatoes. The food was tasty, and the ingredients tasted freshly prepared -- but we felt that the price point was somewhat high for the quantity provided. My husband ordered Americano coffee, while I tried the fireweed tea (Ivan chai) ($3.75), which was new to me. I can't say that this will become a favorite beverage, but I'm glad that I tried it. [This tea is made from fireweed leaves that are fermented and dried. It's caffeine-free]. We also bought a bunch of pastries for our onward journey, including a huge slice of honey cake ($7.99), two caramel walnut cookies ($0.99 each), a slice of stump cake (cute! $4.99), and two cannolis ($2.00 each). All were good, but our favorite was the cannolis. Service was very good. There was a friendly young Ukrainian man at the counter, who later delivered our food. We spoke briefly of my experience in visiting Kyiv for two weeks many years ago (2001) for work. Finally, the eating area was small, but was inviting and had sufficient seating to meet needs. It was clean. We would return to this restaurant. Next time, we need to go for dinner for special Ukrainian foods. read more

My husband and I stayed in Ashford for my birthday in December and our cabin was nearby. We weren't expecting a Ukrainian restaurant in this quaint mountain lodging town but were pleasantly surprised! It was pretty busy when we went but we didn't have to wait long for a table. I loved the rustic and cozy ambiance. We had different kinds of perogies and it was delicious. We also got borch to share and I got the ribeye which was cooked to my preference. I also LOVED the bakery next door that is also run by the family of this business. Each pastry was so yummy! Spartak layered cake was my favorite. I wanted to get more the next morning before we left town but they were not open on Sundays. Will definitely visit next time I'm around this area! read more

We stayed here and ate at the restaurant two night in a row. The food is amazing! However, be prepared to be here for a long time. Saturday night we thought it was maybe just a fluke, but the next night was the same. We were here for an hour and a half both nights. We waiting forever to order, then forever for our tea. Everyone has to wait for their checks and to pay. Looking around so many tables just sitting there waiting waiting waiting to pay so they can leave. It was actually painful. We were staying in Ashford for spring break to check out Mt Rainier. Paradise Village restaurant is one of the few restaurants in the town, and is fairly large and right on the main road. The restaurant looks Bavarian style, very large and rustic. We walked in and it was actually pretty busy for a Monday night. We got sat right away and our order was taken pretty quickly. Food was delicious.- all Ukrainian based. We tried the garlic potato pierogies, the chicken pierogies, and the last dish was like a empanada with chicken, and I can't recall the name. My son ordered the fish and chips, and my daughter ordered their mac & cheese. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. Service was hit and miss after the food came as we needed refills pretty quickly, but the young man was running the whole entire place by himself. We actually returned the following morning for breakfast , and it was the same young man. Breakfast was also delicious. Overall, really happy with the service and food we received here. read more

We got food here while visiting the Cannibal Hot Tub experience. We got several kinds of pierogis including potato and sour cherry as well as the deep fried chicken. Excellent service - they brought the food right to us towards the end of our time in the hot tub. All in all an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend! read more

Wow, what a welcome surprise on a rainy spring trip to Mt. Rainier. Great food, great ambience, and a great time. Just what you need after a long and fun day in the mountains. The ribeye steak was cooked well and had a bit more sauce than I would have liked, but was still excellent. The potatoes and vegetables were seasoned to perfection. The chicken vareniki and piroshki were also great. I didn't have it myself, but a member of my party had the borscht and it didn't have enough meat, but it was still good. To top it all off, the atmosphere of the cabin environment is so fitting in a place like this. Highly recommended. read more
