No waiting for a table, pull up a seat at the bar. They served full breakfast menu, full bar and two tv for sport watching. Breakfast was great every morning. Great people watching and view of the property.

We came here for a quick bite to eat and got some poke. It tasted so fresh and was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and created a good experience for us.

Ended here cuz Rockwood Grill was not open till 5pm. We had 30 minutes to kill so we decided to start our dinner here by ordering appetizers and salad to start. We were very surprised when all our orders came out. They were plentiful, beautifully presented and delicious! Our favorite was the ahi poke but all was equally delicious and filling. Calamari was crunchy and plentiful. The mushroom flat bread was as big as a large pizza. It was a surprise and delicious to have thin sliced asparagus; a first for me to try it on a flat bread (or pizza). We were very full but yet had room for chocolate ice cream for dessert. Unfortunately we were too full to continue at Rockwood Grill for dinner. We had plenty of leftovers and looking forward to have them for late night snacks tonight! Looking forward to coming back one more time before we end our vacation to try other items in menu.

This restaurant was chill with live music and had very friendly customer service. We ordered the burger with fries and although it was busy in the evening on a Saturday, we didn't wait too long for our food. Burger could've had a bit more flavor but it was great nonetheless.

    No where near well done

The worst! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I requested the burger I ordered to be well done, no cheese, lettuce or tomatoes on my daughter burger due to food allergies and it was on there so I took it off just so she can eat because it was already 10pm. I then cut the burger and it's not well done as requested. It was no where near well done so at this point I'm fed up and just want a refund because by the time another burger is cooked my wings would've been cold! The manager tells me I have to wait a couple of business days but yet it was already taking out of my account. I've worked retail and him refunding me cash shouldn't have been a problem! Another server was standing at the counter rolling her eyes as if she had a problem because I wasn't satisfied. I was waiting on her to say something because she would've been out of job! Just horrible!

Decent little bar area. More lounge-like seating than a restaurant setting, if that's your style. They have a good spread of booze choices on the wall/shelf. The food menu is basically the same as the Rockwood Grill, so I assume they share a kitchen. You still have a view of the manmade lake if you look out the window. Plenty of TVs if you're interested in the sports programming they have up. Service is good, both from the hostess, to the server to the bar. Everyone was friendly.

The Henny-Limeade and I recommend asking for the Pink Coconut if you wanna have fun with a little mezcal

Jose is the greatest bartender in Blue Star Lounge. He has the best michelada ever made at the JW Marriott inside the Rockwood Grill. He will definitely make your Sunday the best day to watch sports while he's tending your drinks, weekend getaways, or week day pick me ups! He will always set the mood for your day with any drinks you want recommended!

Plenty of room to sit inside or outside. Food and drinks are priced accordingly with this hotel. Excellent customer service by wait staff. Food and drinks were delicious.

    Enjoying the moment:)

Went in for some drinks and relaxed by the pond. The ambiance was very chill with a nice view of the property. Our server was very accommodating and made us feel at home. Will definitely be back. The staff of the Marriott were all pleasant and friendly too:))

Our beautiful view from the patio.

Well the view is so pretty at night as you sit by the lake. The palm trees, the lights, the gondolas that come by and hopefully a few breezes that hit on those hot summer nights. The service has always been top notch. The food menu has some great appetizers that we live to try. You cannot go wrong. It's all delish! Prices are okay. A bit more on the $$ side but you're at a nice resort & great service & great food makes it worth my $pending money. If you can't stand the evening warm weather you can also sit inside, which we have done before as well. Is air conditioned & very cool. Big windows to a pretty view as well. This particular night we sat outside & had delicious mini tacos & we both had hot wings. These wings were spicy with the rating of 5 ( for my husband who loves hot spicy food) & I gave it a 7 ( I love a little spicy little hot) but these wings were the perfect hotness & they were delicious! Not dripping greasy, not under done or dry, just right. We will be back next time we come to JW Marriott ;)

Came here during our stay at the JW Marriott resort in Palm desert and had a light bite to eat to kill time before going on our gondola/boat ride. They offer complimentary tapas bites to hotel guests between 4-6 pm, which is a great way to lure people into ordering something else off the menu once they take a peek. They also have a happy hour with reduced prices on beer and wine. I ate the complimentary tapas bites, which included marinated mushrooms, beets, tomatoes with cheese and some kind of salsa. This was a meager selection, so my boyfriend and I decided to split some tacos as well. These were actually perfect to share-come with 3 large tacos. Meat selections included pork carnitas, steak and shrimp. Shrimp and steak were delectable-there was a light creamy sauce with cilantro and chopped onion and I gobbled it up quickly. I was not expecting for them to have such good tacos as bar food. They also have sliders, bacon wrapped dates, other appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and various bar food as well as full bar. The view is gorgeous of the lagoon and the water and the location is adjacent to the Rockwood Grille. I would definitely stop by here again if I return to the hotel.

Loving the late 60's early 70's look.

Seating is nice. We had couple of appetizers and it was good. Expensive tho. Seems everything in Palm Springs is expensive.

I wanted to let some time pass, get through the holiday season and in an effort think some on how I might have made awful better. Having just moved I did not want to cook this Thanksgiving. I made reservations at "The Nest" a few weeks ahead of Thanksgiving I had read a number of reviews here on Yelp. I knew going in they had a lively bar scene with live music. We walk in exactly on time. It's so loud it's hard to speak with the hostess. (I'm a Boomer, a child of the 60's no stranger to, nor bothered by loud music) The dining area is separate from the bar so it should be no problem to be seated in a spot that allowed for dinner conversation. I asked the hostess if they did have a spot that was on the quieter side, she said no problem if we could wait a bit. Here is where things went off the rails. We were led to a table that was in a corner and directly under a speaker with the live music as loud as the bar area. Just to make it 'fun' about a 1/4 of the table against the wall had a slope of about 10 or so degrees. There was an older, thick flat screen on the wall so the person across from me kept hitting her head on it. But let's go to the important part the food. Each of us ordered the Thanksgiving Special, turkey dinner. Which was not only the worst turkey dinner I'ver even had but was the absolute worst meal I've ever been served ever, anywhere... including but not limited to fast food. I am left to assume my asking if we could be seated in a quieter spot pissed off the entire restaurant staff from hostess to kitchen staff Starting with the turkey itself, it was a small pile of shredded dark meat, two of us had shards of bone. Mashed potatoes? It was a small ice cream scoop amount (think school cafeteria service) of hard, cold instant like mix. A table spoon worth of some sort of liquid passing for 'gravy'. The rest was of equal 'quality' Two of us left the majority of the food on the plate. Oh and the pie.... Yeah about the same as the rest. I'm not even going to bother about the level of 'service,' I'll just say it was slightly better than food, cold and only indifferent. And now the part that just left us in awe of the whole thing. The section we were seated in was nearly empty by the time we were done, trying get find a member of the staff to bring us the damn check so we could just get out of there. And here comes a couple in their 20's having a domestic dispute, fortunately that calmed down and they left the area. And then here walks through the dining area a clown.... Yes you read that right a clown, in full clown makeup and outfit. An actual clown. No rhyme nor reason, just sauntering through. And as if this was normal and not at all bizarre. There is some sort of 'selfie' device in a corner. And along come two 'ladies' clearly intoxicated, to pose in front of it acting the fools only alcohol can induce and this obnoxious 'show' went on far too long. Just to add insult to injury the check finally comes with a mandatory 20% "large party" (of four?) gratuity. To be fair since it was a holiday would have left at least that amount normally. I appreciate those who work holidays, giving up family time to serve others. I've worked my share of holidays. I was ashamed and embarrassed, about the whole mess.
