When visiting/staying the JW marriot Palm Desert, this was an excellent bar to get a nice drink and app. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the view so much we came back the next day. Very polite staff as well who were knowledgeable about the hotel. Ps. Don't skip the shrimp cocktail or calamari! They were both fabulous!!

No waiting for a table, pull up a seat at the bar. They served full breakfast menu, full bar and two tv for sport watching. Breakfast was great every morning. Great people watching and view of the property.

We came here for a quick bite to eat and got some poke. It tasted so fresh and was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was very attentive and created a good experience for us.

Ended here cuz Rockwood Grill was not open till 5pm. We had 30 minutes to kill so we decided to start our dinner here by ordering appetizers and salad to start. We were very surprised when all our orders came out. They were plentiful, beautifully presented and delicious! Our favorite was the ahi poke but all was equally delicious and filling. Calamari was crunchy and plentiful. The mushroom flat bread was as big as a large pizza. It was a surprise and delicious to have thin sliced asparagus; a first for me to try it on a flat bread (or pizza). We were very full but yet had room for chocolate ice cream for dessert. Unfortunately we were too full to continue at Rockwood Grill for dinner. We had plenty of leftovers and looking forward to have them for late night snacks tonight! Looking forward to coming back one more time before we end our vacation to try other items in menu.

This restaurant was chill with live music and had very friendly customer service. We ordered the burger with fries and although it was busy in the evening on a Saturday, we didn't wait too long for our food. Burger could've had a bit more flavor but it was great nonetheless.

Decent little bar area. More lounge-like seating than a restaurant setting, if that's your style. They have a good spread of booze choices on the wall/shelf. The food menu is basically the same as the Rockwood Grill, so I assume they share a kitchen. You still have a view of the manmade lake if you look out the window. Plenty of TVs if you're interested in the sports programming they have up. Service is good, both from the hostess, to the server to the bar. Everyone was friendly.

No where near well done

The worst! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I requested the burger I ordered to be well done, no cheese, lettuce or tomatoes on my daughter burger due to food allergies and it was on there so I took it off just so she can eat because it was already 10pm. I then cut the burger and it's not well done as requested. It was no where near well done so at this point I'm fed up and just want a refund because by the time another burger is cooked my wings would've been cold! The manager tells me I have to wait a couple of business days but yet it was already taking out of my account. I've worked retail and him refunding me cash shouldn't have been a problem! Another server was standing at the counter rolling her eyes as if she had a problem because I wasn't satisfied. I was waiting on her to say something because she would've been out of job! Just horrible!

The Henny-Limeade and I recommend asking for the Pink Coconut if you wanna have fun with a little mezcal

Jose is the greatest bartender in Blue Star Lounge. He has the best michelada ever made at the JW Marriott inside the Rockwood Grill. He will definitely make your Sunday the best day to watch sports while he's tending your drinks, weekend getaways, or week day pick me ups! He will always set the mood for your day with any drinks you want recommended!

Plenty of room to sit inside or outside. Food and drinks are priced accordingly with this hotel. Excellent customer service by wait staff. Food and drinks were delicious.

Enjoying the moment:)

Went in for some drinks and relaxed by the pond. The ambiance was very chill with a nice view of the property. Our server was very accommodating and made us feel at home. Will definitely be back. The staff of the Marriott were all pleasant and friendly too:))

Our beautiful view from the patio.

Well the view is so pretty at night as you sit by the lake. The palm trees, the lights, the gondolas that come by and hopefully a few breezes that hit on those hot summer nights. The service has always been top notch. The food menu has some great appetizers that we live to try. You cannot go wrong. It's all delish! Prices are okay. A bit more on the $$ side but you're at a nice resort & great service & great food makes it worth my $pending money. If you can't stand the evening warm weather you can also sit inside, which we have done before as well. Is air conditioned & very cool. Big windows to a pretty view as well. This particular night we sat outside & had delicious mini tacos & we both had hot wings. These wings were spicy with the rating of 5 ( for my husband who loves hot spicy food) & I gave it a 7 ( I love a little spicy little hot) but these wings were the perfect hotness & they were delicious! Not dripping greasy, not under done or dry, just right. We will be back next time we come to JW Marriott ;)

Seating is nice. We had couple of appetizers and it was good. Expensive tho. Seems everything in Palm Springs is expensive.

If you're looking for a fun night out in the desert, The Nest never disappoints. We had family in…read moretown and it was our first choice. We started with dinner and ended up staying for the music, dancing, and all the fun that makes The Nest such a special place. I ordered the chicken piccata and honestly, it was the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful, and even though we were seated near the piano in the bar area where it can get a little loud, that's part of what makes it such a fun atmosphere. The best part of the night was having everyone together. My niece's boyfriend was visiting from Ireland, and we laughed and danced all night. I especially loved seeing my sister-in-law out on the dance floor and having so much fun. It was one of those nights where people of all ages were dancing, laughing, and just enjoying being together. We had such a great time that they went back again the very next night. The live music was fantastic, and it was great seeing Nick on saxophone. The crowd was a fun mix, the energy was high, and the whole place just felt happy. A coworker recently went during Restaurant Week and couldn't stop talking about the steak, the generous portions, and the peanut butter pie. The Nest has been a desert favorite for years, and there's a reason. It's always nice to see Dodi there and how much pride she takes in the restaurant. Most people think of The Nest for the music and dancing, but don't miss the food. It really is that good! One tip: go early or make a dinner reservation so you don't end up waiting in line. The Nest is still one of the most fun places in the desert!

We waited close to 25 minutes (the only drag) but once we were in the party started. The drinks were nice great and the DJ awesome! He was playing a saxophone as he pumped the crowed up. Soooooo. 5 stars with a caveat. You're gonna pay... and pay.. nothing here is inexpensive. But if…read moreyou have the extra $$ it's worth every penny. So what differentiates this from other Palm Springs area resorts? The service, by far. The property is phenomenal and the upkeep and maintenance is good, on par with other places. For example, at the pool, we found straws from the previous guest, etc. not a deal breaker, but something to observe. But everyone I interacted with genuinely seemed like they wanted us to have a good time. If it was fake, it was very good acting. From the valet to check in, amazing! Javier checked us in. 7 out of 5. Stress free. The pool area, 8 out of 5. Off the charts. Attention management: I stay at a lot of hotels and resorts. And though I'm sometimes overly generous with my ratings, I can honestly say Dru is the best server I've had, ever. She should run the joint! I wish I could give her a raise. Evan was pretty bad ass too and should be commended! Will I be back? 100 percent. Amazing property, rooms are great, staff is awesome. Food is good, but avoid the breakfast buffet at Rockwood. $40 for powdered eggs is no bueno! Other than that, you'll love it here!

We stayed at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa over the Fourth of July weekend, and…read moredespite how busy it was, the resort handled the crowds really well. The staff was attentive, and everything felt well organized. We had dinner at Aquifer65 & JW Sushi Bar one night, and it was fantastic. We also enjoyed dinner at Mikado Japanese Steakhouse, where the hibachi experience was both entertaining and delicious. The rooms are a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the property, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. The pools, grounds, and amenities make this a great place to spend a long weekend. I'd definitely recommend staying here--just be prepared if you're visiting in the summer. The 104-degree desert heat is no joke, so plan on spending plenty of time in the pool and staying hydrated!
