A definite favor, when in town. Fresh seafood, steaks, and house specialties. Food portions are gracious, service is excellent, and ambiance is dimmed and rustic lodge-like. So Sorry to have eaten meal before pics were taken. YES it was that good. Shrimp Scampi and Stuffed Flounder ( with all crab meat) were prepared exceptionally. OMG!! the French Onion soup was Amazing! Well worth a visit, preparation time, and the price.(it's not a hamburger joint) Treat yourself to this special place, YOLO!!! Oh did I mention, It's a local family owned restaurant... #Support Local Businesses

With a rustic, lodge like, comfy booth, or table offering, and dinner creations that are varied and exceedingly enjoyable for every pallet it is easy to see why the clientele are laughing and having a marvelous time! Phone reservations are very helpful here! Staff are amazing as even when they are swamped everyone is very friendly and thoughtful! This is a wonderful hidden gem with incredible dishes that beat out any high end culinary experience with their superb attention to taste and creativity! The James River oysters were succulent, boundless in flavor, and a perfect half shell appetizer. The corn chowder was full of delightful surprises, such as peas, potatoes and ham. The warm, flaky dinner rolls, were accompanied by a sweet maple butter. The jumbo fried shrimp were juicy with a crispy breading. The crab cake was limitless with crab, minimal breading, and expertly seasoned to accent not overwhelm the crab flavor. The mashed potatoes could stand on their own, not even needing a gravy helper! The cucumber salad with mayo, and onions were lightly seasoned with dill, leaving the crisp cucumber flavor to stand out. They offer many desserts and we chose a hummingbird cake slice to go. Banana nut, with an almond cream cheese frosting-Delicious!!

This hidden gem serves up outstanding service, mouthwatering cuisine at affordable prices, including must-try steamed mussels seasoned to perfection and a heavenly cucumber salad, all in a warm and cozy atmosphere.

    Mussels are great

We love this place. Excellent all around. Go alone or with friends. Great bar, great table service. Oysters, salmon, or steaks. Oh I forgot chicken. 5 or more you can make reservations. Otherwise you may have to wait. Except for the bar. Check their website. https://bluestoneinnrestaurant.com/

Gelatinous cheese substance on mushy broccoli.

Terrible food! The steak was completely unseasoned, the sides were inedible, the bread was stale, and they didn't even pack our baked potato in the to go order. I seriously wondered if they purposely gave us bad food because that would make more sense than the meal they provided being the normal course of business.

    Reservations for six or more!

Very good food, loved our waitress, definitely an older restaurant could use a good scrub and dusting and very dark inside.

It contains a generous portion of sliced chicken breast on a pillowy soft sub roll laced with Boom-Boom sauce, a mild to very moderately spicy concoction. The onions are grilled, sweet, and a perfect complement to the rest of the sandwich. The combination of freshness and good flavors is superb. The staff here are all extremely friendly and helpful. The parking is plentiful. There are several outdoor tables as well as a couple of indoor ones. All around the Market are the most stunning rolling corn fields, pastures, impossibly green pastures, and majestic mountain vistas. The next afternoon, I popped in for some takeaway brisket, pulled pork, and freshly made cole slaw. Amazing!! The tomato based BBQ pork sauce is perfectly spicy and sweet. The brisket BBQ sauce has a dark rich smoky flavor. The cole slaw is beyond perfection. Crunchy, fresh, and not over-saturated in dressing. A superb take-home and heat up meal. I put the pork and the brisket in a cast iron skillet with a pan as a lid and heated it in the oven for 30 minutes at 325 degrees (always check your internal meat temperatures, of course). The chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing are also delicious. The cake is light and fluffy and the icing is just the perfect sweetness. It is a true pleasure to go to the Sunrise Market & Deli.

We originally going to get a drink but once we stepped inside that quickly changed. There were several people in line at the rear deli counter. One gentleman said the chicken supreme was delicious & another customer said everything is delicious. With those reviews we decided it was time for LUNCH lol. I ordered the chicken supreme with the macaroni salad & hubby ordered the chicken salad sandwich. The food tasted fresh & was full of flavor. There are only two booths inside the restaurant & a few tables outside. Being a city girl I loved seeing the Mennonite community pulling into the parking lot in a horse & buggy. It is located in a strip mall with ample parking not far at all from the interstate. I was promptly seated by a nice older woman who communicated with me by pointing. Don't get me wrong. I liked that as it brought authenticity to the establisment and very much unlike the time i went into a Chinese restaurant and they were blaring Sinatra music! Within a minute an Asian woman presented me with a menu and shortly afterwards took my order. I chose a cup of wonton soup and green curry with tofu as I was in a vegetarian mood. The wonton was hot and delicious with ample chives. Next came my red curry with tofu and steamed white rice, medium spicy, which was delicious as well! ( At other Asian restaurants in the past, I've made the sad mistake of ordering the "you asked for it" hot, and after about few seconds, lost my capacity to taste!) Being in proximity to James Madison University, there was a tablefull of collegiate who departed upon my arrival. They have a full bar in which I did not partake. ( Did i mention that I arrived at about 4:15PM on a Saturday in early April?) There were two, clean (important to me!) unisex rest rooms. My total was $22 to which i added a 25% tip. In summary, 5 star in my book. If near Harrisonburg or on I-81, check it out!

There was a heater, so we figured we could stand it. The hostess rearranged the tables to seat us close to the heater, and left menus. Soon a waitress came with water and took drink orders. Not long after she returned to take our food orders. While we were waiting for the food, someone brought us some warm blankets. All through our meal people kept checking to see whether we needed anything. It was the best service I have seen in a long time, and I arrange a bi-monthly lunch outing for a club I belong to.
