We had to drop off some items in the area and wanted to get dinner before heading back, so we looked over the menu and reviews. It seemed like it would be perfect for seafood lovers, and we were able to snag one of the last tables available. From the time we walked in, the service was amazing. The staff made great recommendations, checked on us frequently without being intrusive, and made sure we were enjoying our first experience there. Even the other customers were super friendly and told us they had been coming back for years for the great food and service. We both loved our meals. The breading on my fish was really crispy (a recommendation from the server), and the hush puppies were delicious. The portions were very generous, and I really enjoyed my leftovers the next day! The decor there is also super cute. They have several old soda machines outside and adorable crab-themed items inside and outside. The server was extremely tentative and nice. The place was very cute and cozzy. The bathroom could use some attention, the sink is like a power washer and a bit aggressive. Regretted getting the crab cluster as it was only one crab when I could've gotten a pound for $5 more. The crab is also cooked plain with an old bay shaker at the table. The bang bang shrimp was very good. My boyfriend got the "crusty Mac" and said there were shells inside the crab cake, wasn't a fan of that and the amount of crab cake in it. read more

Stopped in for lunch at Crabby Maggie's while visiting Strasburg. I'd seen the place pop up on social media a few times, and since it's the only dedicated seafood spot in the area, it felt like a must-try. Parking is a bit tight, and the layout of the lot is... let's just say, a little confusing. I thought there might be an exit on the opposite side, but that might've just been me overthinking it. Inside, the place has a cozy, casual vibe, and there's also a nice outdoor patio if the weather's good. What stood out right away was the owner--the same person you see on their social media sharing specials--was actively working the floor. He was taking orders, cleaning up, and checking in on tables. Always great to see that level of involvement and energy. We went with the fried baskets, and the portion sizes were huge--definitely felt like a good value for the price. (Check out the pictures!) Everything we had was hot, crispy, and satisfying. We saw a few other dishes--like the tacos and steak--go by, and they looked just as tempting. This weekend we ventured north on Route 11 in Virginia through the Shenandoah Valley for the "Route 11 Yard Crawl" - a 40+ mile route of yard sales, flea markets and vendors! While there were plenty of food trucks, we found this spot on Yelp and had to go! We were not disappointed!! We got the crab dip with pretzels to start, then the Crabby Jim sandwich and the Crab Mac'n Cheese - all were exceptional!! The place was super busy, but we were able to sit pretty quickly and waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. Cute indoor seafood restaurant decor and nice outside seating too. If I was to tell you it was wonderful it would be grossly inadequate. This was life altering. The crab is the jewell of the State of Virginia. The fried cod was what we've been looking for since we moved out to the Eastcoast from TX four years ago. This place rocks. And the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Hubby & I had fish and chips: his with hush puppies and mine with green beans. Hushpuppies were crunchy outside and buttery smooth inside. Fish was cooked perfectly (done without being dry). Son had blackened Mahi with real onion rings and green beans (he ate too fast for a picture). Mahi was crusted with Cajun spices and was very juicy. Be aware: Portions are HUGE! Service was attentive making sure no cup was emptied. We were tickled to find sweet tea. We were stuck in traffic on I81 and decided to hop off the exit at Strasburg and grab a bite to eat. We found this adorable restaurant and were greeted by Maggie herself, she was a delight. We had a fabulous time and the food was amazing. The hush puppies were the best we have ever had and the crab cakes were out of this world according to my husband. I had the gulf shrimp and onion rings, can't wait to have those again! We took the peach cheesecake home and it was delicious! I wanted to like this place so bad but I was severely disappointed. The space is very small and the food is awful. I'll break this down by each item we ordered: Crab fries: overly seasoned fries with what appeared to be a mayo based sauce and COLD crab meat. This was the most unpleasant menu item that we tried. Calamari: you can tell these are premade, frozen and shipped and then they just drop them in a fryer. Small and super rubbery and served with the same super mayonnaisey Cajun sauce as the crab fries were. Burger: premade, frozen and reheated hamburger patty that was not quality at all. Shrimp Po boy: ON A HAMBURGER BUN?! Shredded lettuce and that same tired Cajun sauce (this sauce was on EVERY SINGLE ITEM WE ORDERED) White cheddar mac and cheese: watery, no flavor and probably came from a box. Really wanted to like this little place. Friendly service. Food was average, but I don't think we'll be driving to Strasburg for 2nds. Avoid the collards, which we like in our house, but their "smoked" variety was inedible. Crab cakes were meaty, but expensive for the taste of it, ours at home are a lot better. And, they really need to do something about their fly problem. The alert waitress was kind enough to volunteer to replace our drink into which a fly had landed, and we hadn't noticed. We were looking for a local seafood place for lunch on a joint day off and so glad we tried Crabby Maggie's. It's a quaint little place with no fancy decor, but very happy with the food and service. I had the catfish, old bay fries and slaw. My wife had the crab cake, side of shrimp and hush puppies. Everything was really good and I commented the slaw was the closest thing to my long gone aunts slaw from my childhood, so I'm happy. As for parking, there's room for 2-3 cars by the curb in front of the restaurant, but a municipal parking lot one door down for a short walk to some great food. read more

We are always looking for something different for our after church Sunday meal. Parking was a bit tight but I have seen worse. Many people were eating outside, which is a nice touch for nice weather. I asked our waitress what she would recommend and we got 2 out of the 3 she recommended. Husband got the double crab cakes with the mac and cheese. He said they were the best crab cakes he has ever had, they were huge. I got the pub style cod and coleslaw. batter was crispy, fish was tender and hot. The coleslaw was the best I had ever had.
