Took a chance on a new hairstylist since my usual one retired, and the last place I went to took literally 8 hours to do my highlights. Cedric told me about the holiday special, and I figured, why not? $150 for a cut and color was better than $200+ at the other places I've looked at. He pulled out all the stops, and I feel like I got the most bang out of my buck for what I paid for. I got my hair highlighted in the exact color I wanted, hair & bangs cut, AND on top of all that, get it all styled. All in 3 hours with my thick hair, which usually needs a little more time for anything. I've never seen my hair this nice before. Cedric knew what he was doing, was friendly, and checked in on me the entire appointment. The only gripe I have is that the studio itself was a bit hard to find. Go to Studios by JC, take a left, and go all the way down the hall to door 20 on the left. The photos speak for themselves. If you're looking for a new stylist, definitely try this place out! I purchased a Groupon a few weeks ago for this salon. However, when I booked my appointment I was told they would not accept the Groupon. I offered to change the date of my appointment to accommodate the merchants requests, but they canceled my appointment because of the Groupon. Now, the merchant nor Groupon will refund the service. Apparently the merchant needs to release the funds, Groupon is an AI bot nightmare hell. No one is willing to help and I am out over $150. If you don't want to accept Groupons, don't offer Groupons. Injured my hand so got a Groupon for a couple of blowouts and decided to try a new place. Got my first blowout done on a Saturday and it was a nice blow out. Scheduled my next appointment on the following Sunday, received a text the morning of the appointment to let me know my Groupon is only good Tues, Wed & Thurs and if I wanted to keep my appointment I'd have to pay full price. I said no biggie and booked my next appointment for today Tuesday. Received a text again this morning TELLING me not asking that he needed me there at a different time because of his child's half day. Life happens so I said " I understand but I booked you during the days you told me I have available to me, on the hours you have available on your site. I get that life happens but I booked accordingly. If you have something later this afternoon I'm happy to go then I just cannot do that time" he apologized and then said that he'd see me later this evening. It's now past 7 and have not heard from him. I will take the loss on the Groupon but definitely will not be recommending Cedric to anyone I know along with leaving the negative reviews. read more

Cedrick made me feel glamorous after a really tough year. It's a long story but my hair needed attention and he absolutely came through. It was a last minute scheduling since I travel in an RV full time as a travel blogger and haven't seen my hair specialist in over a year. You can imagine it was a mess. Anyways Cedrick had that strong finger wash that had me almost snoring and drooling on myself, which would have been embarrassing, but I'm sure he's used to it. I phoned Cedric at Blue Vanity Salon a week ago and spoke w/ him briefly. Told him I'd be a new client and wanted a consultation first. He instructed me to book it online. I made an appt for Saturday 8/30 at 10:30am and I received a text confirmation and a text reminder of the appt on Friday 8/29. I arrived 5 minutes early for my appt and he wasn't there. I waited 15 minutes and he never showed. The receptionist for the salons tried to reach him by phone and by text and he did not respond to her. I called the number listed for the salon and it went straight to voicemail. Within a minute of calling the number I did receive a text that said "Please text me". I did that saying I was his 10:30am appt and did he want me to wait. No response. The receptioist said she would follow-up with him. I have not received any communication from Cedric. read more

So this is only the second time I have ever written a review. But, I must write one for this. I only met Cedric the one time. Two weeks ago. I found him on Groupon. Upon calling him to schedule a Brazilan blowout, I asked the question if he used the Brazilian blowout product? And I mentioned I had Groupon. He frowned upon the Groupon and insisted that Keratin is way better. So I took a chance and trusted this stranger. After I arrived at his room, he was very very frustrated because he had been working all day with no break. His words, not mine. Right then and there I should have walked out because it was so uncomfortable knowing how upset he was. But I didn't listen to my gut and let him work on my hair. I told him I have had blowouts for at least 5 years and I have never used a different product. Again, he insisted on the Keratin. He said he likes it way better because the Brazilian blowout has too many steps. So again, I trusted this man. After washing my hair, about 3 to 4 days later, I could see that this did not take. My hair was very frizzy and unmanageable. So I tried the next week and still the same. This should not be. I should not even have to straighten my hair after doing the blowout. Lets not forget it cost me $180 for an hour of his time. So I reached out and he still insists that the Keratin is the number 1 product sold in America. The only thing he offers is to do the treatment again. After researching online, with AI, it states loud and clear, you should NOT get a second blowout just 2 weeks after the first one. It says that Stylists and product manufacturers strongly recommend waiting at least 10 to 12 weeks between treatments to maintain hair health and avoid potential damage. So I text this info to Cedric and told him I am NOT willing to do another treatment. He did not respond to me. So I text the next morning, which is today, still no respose, so I called him, he didn't answer and finally text back asking me to text him. I said "I have been texting since last night" So we have another conversation, via text. I said I am not willing to do the treatment again, can you compensate me? Any sort of refund since I am not happy with your services? He said NO. I already offered you a solution, and I am not comfortable giving a refund for services rendered. WOW. I was as nice as I could be and told him, customer service is nothing like it used to be and wished him a Merry Christmas. This man is very very unprofessional. I don't care how many 5 stars you see on his reviews. He should have never acted the way he did at the appointment, being all mad because he feels overworked. And he should have tried to meet my request in some way, shape, or form. After reading this post, Cedric, I don't need a "Thank you" like I see you do on the others who gave you a one star. Or the comment of "You can't win them all." You are not a nice person and I feel I was ripped off. Plain and simple. So I would strongly encourage anyone who reads this, do NOT use this man for your hair needs. Why a "Professional" would still want to do this treatment over, after I sent him the info on what it could do to my hair, is beyond me. read more

DO NOT GO TO BLUE VANITY FOR A KERATIN TREATMENT! In May I saw an ad on Groupon for a keratin treatment at Blue Vanity Salon. The full listed price (not the Groupon deal) was $300 which is about the going rate. I had a keratin treatment done at another salon about 18 months ago and was needing another one. That one involved several steps including washing at least twice, product processing time, drying and flat ironing and took over 4 hours. What Cedric did consisted of initial washing, NO processing time and flat ironing. In and out in under 90 minutes. While I was experiencing the benefits of the first treatment over a year later, Cedric's ended 4 days later with the first washing. During my appointment Cedric claimed he has been doing keratin treatments for over 12 years, that it was the same as a Brazilian Blowout, that it would last 3-6 months, etc. When I called to say that my hair was not at all what I expected he stated that NO keratin treatment will relax/straighten hair and all I could expect was a control of the frizzies. I was told that what they use in the salon is a keratin complex. My previous treatment DID relax and straighten and many other stylists I spoke with said this is the main purpose for the treatment. These other stylists also said that a keratin complex treatment is generally applied between keratin treatments to prolong the relaxing/straightening effects, is quicker and under $100. All agreed that this is what I received from Cedric and not an actual keratin treatment at all. When I told Cedric that I felt his ad was at best misleading and at worst outright fraudulent he did offer a 50% refund which I have still not received. I know nothing of the other services this salon offers and based on my experience I never will. read more

Unfortunately that's where the optimism and good things stopped. Cedric seemed nice and cordial for the first 5 minutes, after that, I was frozen with anxiety in that chair. He was very flirty and overly sexual in the personal questions he was asking me. He kept touching my right breast acting as if he was brushing hair off of the apron. That's when he positioned himself in front of me as if to trim my bangs and he started to "adjust" himself. I was frozen in fear. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, and I will NEVER GO back or even think about recommending any woman step foot in that salon.
