This is located in the San Tan Village Shopping Center, and boy is this place always packed! I pulled in just a little before 5pm on a Wednesday in July, and it was still popping with people parking and walking around. You'd think summer would be a slower time, but it didn't phase this location or others in this shopping center. When walking in, one of my friend's had already grabbed us a table. This place was packed and we were sat in the back room. I'm glad we were as it was even loud in there. Happy Hour prices are great, but may come right at the start to avoid some of the crowds as the noise level was quite overwhelming at times. What We Ordered (pictured): - Korean Fried Chicken Bao Bun: My friend ordered this, and quickly snapped a photo as I found it an interesting special menu item. He seemed overall pleased, but he was surprised they are served like a taco. He didn't know the difference of bao bun versus xiaolongbao. - Dean Martini (Vodka + Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives): $7.95 on happy hour?! Be rude not to, and surprisingly good! Maybe SKYY Vodka is growing on me, though Belvedere or Double Cross remain my top choices for a dirty vodka martini. - Chuck Norris: $11.95 on happy hour, and I was after a roll with shrimp tempura. The lemon juice was so overpowering that I could only eat two bites, and gave to my friend to try and ultimately take home to her husband. Definitely not ordered again or recommend. - Me Soy Horny: $9.95 on happy hour and allowed me to try soy paper as a way to hold the roll together. After getting over the color as seaweed is just so iconic for a roll, I actually enjoyed the roll overall. I think this roll could be majorly elevated with spicy mayo. Ultimately, the sushi isn't spectacular from the two rolls I tried; but for the prices, I think they are overall good. I'd definitely return again on a weekday at start of happy hour to hopefully avoid the crowds. Even if just grabbing a martini and gambling on a different roll to try. read more

Blue Wasabi Host was kind! Although there was no formal seating, the bar was open and we were greeted to come through and take a seat. We were excited to eat at this establishment upon seeing the good reviews. We ordered two drinks: Mowie Wowie & Heated Passion. Both tasted very good. We ordered a good amount of food. Miso Soups + Pork Potstickers, Rolls, and Nigiri. The best ones, without a doubt, included Tropic Thunder & East LA Roll, and Daddy's Tuna Nigiri. There are citrus notes in each of these that almost make it feel like a ceviche. We did have some not so good options and those are: beef nigiri, the smoked salmon (I'll get to that one) and salmon nigiri. Although the nigiri was tasty, the portion of rice on each was too much for my personal taste. Each bite felt overpowered and hid the true flavor of the seafood. I also lost a bit of my appetite when I saw the smoked salmon nigiri, and the black spots. Although it is safe to eat, I would expect back of house to serve a salmon piece as if they were being served themselves. Other than that, my date and I had a good time. Came here on Tuesday, right during happy hour! Absolutely loved the prices and deals too. The Wango Mango martini was sweet, tangy, and a great addition to the meal. The rolls came out so fast and each were delicious and tasted really fresh. We also ordered the orange chicken. Which was more of a take on orange chicken but loved it!! I dined in here on a Thursday night with one of my besties who was leaving town the next morning. It was the first time for us both and we wanted something filling, but not heavy. Blue Wasabi Sushi & Martini fit the bill. Max was our server and he was awesome! He was very friendly, answered our questions and checked on us often. The drinks were pretty good, and the sashimi was, too. I normally choose AYCE places for sashimi, but the cuts of fish here were not bad. I can eat a good amount of sashimi, and my favorite is salmon, of course! I can't remember what my friend ordered but I got the Wango Mango and it was tasty! It may have been a tad strong alcohol-wise, but hey, I'm not complaining! The Pork Belly Bao Buns were really good! I liked the fluffy light bun and the flavor of the pork really came through. We didn't have room for dessert, but we'll probably come back another day or night to try more of what they have to offer. Overall, the service was fantastic, the food hit the spot, and the ambiance was swanky (although we chose to sit out in the patio). We did agree the prices are a bit overpriced, but no biggie. I visit here often with my friends and they really have the best happy hour!! The drinks are so cheap and a glass of good wine is just under seven dollars. For vegetarians and vegans, they have a lot of great options!!! There are quite a few sushi rolls on the happy hour menu that are great also. The service has been really great. Now we know why it's called Blue Wasabi, their wasabi is blue, ha! We went shortly after 4pm during their HH (4-8pm) which unfortunately everything we ordered wasn't HH option on menu but we were satisfied as we went to try the sushi. Great friendly service, they were very busy at time we arrived, assuming it was HH as it died down a bit an hour later. My husband loves that most of their rolls are Soy wrap as he doesn't like seaweed. We enjoyed Tail-Er Swift and Summer Lovin. Will have to try Marilyn Monroll and Chuck Norris next! I wish they had rice under their Krab and Shrimp Dynamite as it's just crab and shrimp with sauce, good but definitely needs rice to enjoy it with. We have been going to Blue Wasabi for years! It was our son's favorite place growing up, and since we hadn't been there in years and we were in the area, we decided to stop in for their HH. We started out with a spicy edamame and noticed that the spicy sauce has changed since the last time we were there. This one tasted mostly like it was tossed in just Sriracha, which wasn't our favorite. We liked the older sauce better. We each ordered sushi, and my hubby also ordered the beef and broccoli as well as the Genghis beef. Everything tasted just like we remember (minus the edamame). Their HH prices are pretty decent for a sushi joint and they also offer some pretty amazing martini specials. The only other thing to mention is their hours are a little different. This is a wonderful sushi bar that has happy hour every day of the week. The sushi here is not my favorite in the valley, but the deals on their drinks and the happy hour by far makes it a worthwhile experience. Don't try to come here with a large party. We waited 2 and a half hours out in the 110 degree heat for a table for my friends birthday and when we brought our concerns with the long wait to the manager Christian, he was extremely rude and talked down to us as we tried to express frustration towards waiting that long when we were told it would only be a 30 minute wait. He eventually gave us a round of shots and our first round of drinks at happy hour price (since we missed it entirely waiting in the heat) but he originally wasn't going to do that for us and continued to talk over us instead of being sympathetic to the fact that we were still willing to eat at his restaurant after waiting that long. I have always loved this place for both the service and food but was so disappointed in the way Christian treated us. Lg screen televisions make for a great place to meet up to watch all the events. Of course the sushi is fantastic! My favorite is the Wango Mango roll. But honestly everything I've tried is fantastic! Our server Louis was so gracious and helpful. When ever we needed something he just seemed to know and would appear ready to help. I've been meaning to go to this place for a minute finally got a chance to go. The hostess was very nice. The restaurant was under renovations. The menu is very big and has a lot of variety. They did have something I have never seen before which was chicken and waffle sushi I did not try it because I was just not in the mood for that particular type of taste but I thought it was very interesting. But the waitress was very nice. She did try her best to accommodate us in every way we did order a steak appetizer, which they could not properly cook.
