    Hotter Than Summer

This was our first time at Nozomi Sushi House. We decided to sit at the bar. You sit down low so you're unable to see them create their dishes. I'm okay with that as it seems better not to be over everyone's dishes getting made. The price was a few $$ more than our regular restaurant we go to, but everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The staff were very friendly and made sure to check in to see if we were good or needed anything. We would definitely return!!

The decor and vibes are awesome! Such a cool modern casual place. Loved the soundtrack playing- acoustic/instrumental pop songs slowed down. Service was great- everyone was very kind! The food was good- crispy rice with spicy tuna was a favorite. The nozomi special roll needed more spice but the presentation was cool. The pink lady was my favorite roll- lots of fish and yummy sauces! The hotter than summer roll was good but i wanted more spice still!

Tucked into a strip mall off Alma School and Chandler Heights, but worth giving them a shot. Welcomed and seated around lunch time on Saturday and started to look over their menu while our waitress got drinks. Regular menu looks pretty comprehensive (a variety of rolls, sushi, sushimi, bowls, etc), but we opted for their lunch specials. We had both the teriyaki chicken Bento box and the teriyaki beef bento box - the chicken was tasty, but the beef was kinda tough. The bento box has 3 fried dumplings, side salad, California roll and the teriyaki - plenty for lunch. I opted for the 2 sushi rolls (8 piece shrimp tempura & 8 piece crunchy California roll) - again, plenty for lunch. Crunchy cali roll was good and a little better than the shrimp tempura roll; not much shrimp tempura in the roll. The place remained consistently busy while we were there but didn't seem to impact the service. The sushi rolls were good, but just not as big or as flavorful as I've had at other sushi places, but the prices seemed more reasonable. Worth giving the a try if you like good sushi, but dont want to spend alot of money.

Not stellar nor horrific, we had a decent lunch at Nozomi the other day before heading to our escape room. We were all craving something a little on the lighter side, and the menu stuck out as a nice place to grab a bite. Nozomi was completely empty when we came in around 2pm. The atmosphere was cute, spacious, minimalistic. No complaints. Service was friendly but a bit on the slower side. We split multiple items: Gyoza, Miso Soup, Chicken Fried Rice, and Strawberry Mochi. Our thoughts were that everything was good flavor wise but a bit overpriced for the portion size. Would potentially try again if we were desperate for Japanese food and in the area.

Went here on a Friday night and the place was busy--but that didn't stop them from delivering a great experience. There was only one waitress working the entire floor, and she absolutely rocked it! Super attentive, efficient, and friendly despite the rush. The sushi portions were generous and fresh. I appreciated that nothing was overly spicy or drowned in sauce--just clean, balanced flavors that let the fish speak for itself. Definitely coming back! Sorry should have took more photos!

So happy to have this new sushi restaurant in the Sun Lakes area of Chandler! First impression it's very warm and friendly. It's laid out nicely has a very large sushi bar and lots of seating. For lunch I had miso soup, which was great! The next item I had was a side salad that was actually pretty huge! Lots of cucumbers and tomatoes in it with a great dressing! And then had a rainbow roll, which was mouthwatering. Love love loved it! Highly recommend it and I will be going back with my husband.! Photos attached. Sorry I was so hungry. I started eating my roll before I took a picture of it. It actually comes with eight pieces.

Food is always hot and fresh! The spicy edamame is da bomb!! Tried the Avocado bomb for lunch entree! Delicious as well!

Came from out of town and decided to try it out! We were very pleasantly surprised and thought the rolls were great! Our favorite was the Rose roll. The service was good and the staff were all very friendly. We loved the stopwatch game where you get a chance to win your meal for free! We ended up winning and they honored the offer and the staff were all celebrating with us. We recommend to anyone nearby or visiting!

Had the chicken teriyaki bento box. Food was great, server was very nice, enjoyed everything (well maybe not going with a group of 15, but that's my issue). Will totally be back to this restaurant- new to my neighborhood.

This was my second time here and I had great experiences both times. The first time I had sushi and the jalapeño poppers (fantastic!). So good I forgot to take pictures. The second time I had ramen and my mom had the poke bowl, so fresh and delicious! Love how clean it always is and service is very kind and quick!

The one with the fresh wasabi is amazing! Nozomi Special Roll

I had this place saved for some time as it nearby, and I have to say "thank you" to all my Yelpers as the food and the service matched at the positive feedback. Parking was fairly simple as it's located on the corner of Dobson and Guadalupe, and once inside, the staff was very welcoming and provided the menu. The TVs were some Pet channel full of cuteness (that's the only word that comes to mind for me to describe), while the other had something similar but maybe of bloopers. Either way, it was cool and blended in with the stylishly cool decor. As for lunch, I decided to go with the Bento box that included Beef and Broccoli as the main dish. It came with a side of rice, spring roll, a crab ragoon, and 4 sushi pieces. They did bring out a courtesy salad, which was nice. I went with a fountain drink but they do have Sake, Beer & Wine. Service and speediness of the food were good, and as you can tell by my photo, it was steaming hot when it arrived. Overall, everything was on point, and I think I'll come back and try another Bento box lunch special.

Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! She was super attentive too and kept refilling our drinks throughout the meal. We tried a mix of specialty rolls and more basic rolls. Most of the specialty rolls were around $15 each, while the basic rolls were under $10. The spicy tuna rolls were especially good for the price because they were cheap, but still came out huge. Overall the portions were very generous and the prices weren't bad at all. I got the Hell Fire roll and it definitely lived up to the name. I handle spicy food really well and even for me this thing was extremely spicy. It was almost painfully hot, but honestly I kind of enjoyed the challenge, It was also really good besides just being spicy, so I'd definitely get it again. The inside also had a cool vibe with all the colorful lighting and it wasn't too busy when we went which was nice. Most of our sushi came out almost immediately. The fried rolls understandably took a little longer since they had to be made fresh. My only small complaint is I wish everything would of came out closer to the same time, because some of us already had food while we were still waiting on the fried rolls. Overall, really good food, huge portions, fair prices and great service, definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Things We Ordered I Tried: - Yuzu Mule: loved this drink at the Gilbert location, so I ordered again. Very refreshing and recommend if you like mules. - Hamachi Chili Lime Crudo: Great flavor and first time trying a crudo. I really liked the subtle heat and acidity of the citrus ponzu. - Crispy Truffle Crab: This was decent, but overall my least favorite of our starters & small bites. - Spicy Tuna Tartare: This was delicious and enjoyed the nori chips to serve the spicy tuna on. - Kagoshima Filet ($120): I'm sad to report... this was FANTASTIC. I wanted to hate it at the price point of $120, but it truly melts in your mouth. My first experience trying Wagyu and it was a A5 rating, which is the highest. Started with a bougie one it seems! - Tamago Roll: I do enjoy a tamago roll, and this was pretty good. - Crazy Roll: I enjoyed this at the Gilbert location, though I do still standby this could be elevated with a spicy mayo or topping. - Surf 'N Turf Roll: This was my favorite roll of the night! A5 Wagyu and shrimp tempura?! Heck yeah! Absolutely delicious, though I'm not a huge fan of mustard. Still a delicious roll and likely what I'd get if I returned. - Yuzu Mushrooms: One of the specials listed, and decent flavor. Though, I think I'd stick to rolls if returning. - Matcha Tiramisu: I was told this was a must order, but I'm truly baffled at this desert. This is more like a no bake cheesecake and not a tiramisu. The red bean paste was an odd texture at the bottom and very hard to get your spoon all the way down to get all the elements of the dessert. - Mango Kakigori: Very light and refreshing! A hit with the team, and we had three to share. Shout out to Matthew for an amazing experience!
