We've been here twice now, and honestly, everything we've tried has been delicious! The portions are great, and there are so many good options on the menu. The shrimp cocktail is SO good, the octopus tacos are amazing, and the nachos are another must try. One of our favorite appetizers is the Toritos, jalapeño peppers stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in bacon. Seriously, SO GOOD! And don't sleep on the burgers either! The burger and fries are delicious. The drinks are also a big win. You can't go wrong with a good Michelada, but I'm a huge mezcal fan, so the Mezcalitas are definitely my favorite. They also have LALO. If you haven't tried LALO in a cocktail yet, you're missing out! I also have to mention the service because it really makes the experience. The owner is wonderful, and our waitress was an absolute blast! I wish I had gotten her name but she was the cute blonde waitress, super fun, friendly, and gave us some fantastic recommendations. She definitely added to our experience! We've been twice now, loved everything we've ordered both times, and will absolutely be back. This evening we went to Salt for the first time. We were greeted by a young lady whom I did not get her name. We learned later she and her husband Enrique are the owners. She took the time to review the items with me I could not have (as I am gluten free). I say this because the list was simply no quesadillas or burritos. But I was really safe with the menu. She then reviewed the margaritas with me. I opted for the honey hot margarita. Which was a great spin on a margarita. Once drinks arrived, another man checked on us. And then during our meal Enrique came over to say hi. To say we were welcomed would almost down play how warm and inviting this little taco shop is. Now the food; We had chips and salsa. Which were served with a spicy red and mild green. I personally loved the green but enjoyed the heat of the red. My tacos, simply meat on a corn tortilla with cilantro. I added green salsa to my carne asada which was just amazing. When the food is good, simple will let it shine! My husband has fish. He enjoyed this tremendously. A taco is $4.50. Came on a Monday for dinner, it wasn't busy. It's located in a quiet strip mall, there was plenty of parking. The fried calamari shared with my wife was on point! The breading was crispy and the calamari wasn't rubbery. My wife's octopus taco was WAY to spicy, we had to scrape some of the chili oil off. My surf and turf bowl was good. Love how the Ceviche has a choice with Octopus and Shrimp! Torino's are a must try. I plan to come back again and try more dishes! Only thing is the plating of the meal it's in Togo containers. Grabbed some lunch and it did not disappoint! I had the carna asada, shrimp and octopus tacos. Delicious! I enjoyed the thin flour tortillas because it was a great balance with the protein and veggies. Served with 4 different salas- my favorite was the avocado. If I were to order again, I'd definitely get the octopus tacos! Super flavorful and not tough at all! Got to give it to those restaurants that know how to prepare octopus. For dessert we had the buñuelos-thinly fried dough covered with sugar and cinnamon. We got caramel and chocolate sauce with it! Yummy! I'll have to bring my husband here! I had a very friendly waitress and a solid, tasty bowl of shrimp & octopus- I asked for reduced spiciness, but it was chili heavy with a hot burn. The cabbage and radish appeared brown on the edges. I stopped in between lunch & happy hour. The place was empty. Clearly brand new and felt cold. I was served beer in a chipped & cracked glass and found a strip of plastic in my food. The waitress was kind & apologetic, the dour owner/manager accused me of dropping it in my bowl. No apology or change to my bill at all. Just shoulder shrug. Oooooh the tacos here are amazing! The shrimp, chicken and pork adobado were so good. The Toritos have a LOT of kick but who doesn't love anything wrapped in bacon? The loaded nachos are definitely a meal and they have some of the best homemade chips. My daughter had the ribeye hamburger and said it was one of the best burgers she's ever had (she is a burger snob, she knows her stuff!) The staff is very friendly. Food has been hit or miss the two times we've been. Steak both times has been overcooked and tough. But shrimp and other dishes have been very good. Really liked some of the flavors and it's great to have a new option in this food desert of an area. Price to portion seemed fair. Location is good with a lot of seating but whatever cleaner they are using is leaving the place smelling very chemically. I watched others react to it as they walked in as well. Not a bad thing it smells like cleaner but this is more of a chemical smell that's not pleasing. No online ordering is wild in 2026, giving the benefit of the doubt here that they will add it but it's been open for enough time now that you would think it would be available. Without that I don't think we'll be back for takeout. Ordering and then just sitting and waiting feels like a waste of time when everywhere has online ordering at this point. Really want this place to succeed and hoping to see some improvements. Solid 3/5 right now but easily could become so much better! read more

A Hidden Gem Worth the Drive! We happened to be in the area and found this little Mexican restaurant on Google with such great reviews that we decided to give it a try--and we are SO glad we did! Another group comes in after us and she goes through same process of giving them menus. My wife and I splurged on our date night and had a little bit of everything: we started with chips, salsa and guacamole. Guac made fresh, phenomenal in flavor, chunky GREAT guac one could find at an H-E-B back in Texas. Salsa was a little too runny for chips IMO, but the flavors were PHENOMENAL! Chips are super thick and crunchy. We also got the calamari, and we were honestly shocked that it was as good as it was in this little pocket of Mesa (served with Cilantro and Chipotle aioli dipping sauces... YUM!). The 3 Ahi Tuna Quesadillas are TO DIE FOR! Highly recommend them for EVERY order. The entrees we got were tacos (shrimp+octopus , carne asada, and fish) & their S.A.L.T surf and turf burger. I don't live in Mesa, but I was in the area making deliveries and decided to stop by. Hands down, these are the best tacos I've had in Arizona! With so many taco spots here, that's saying a lot. The flavors were incredible. I tried the tuna tostadas, fish taco, shrimp taco, and bacon-wrapped jalapeño shrimp--every bite was amazing. I'm still thinking about them! Great tacos! I had a Pork Adobado taco with bits of pineapple that was excellent. We ordered chips and salsa and an 8 oz side of guacamole which was chunky, citrusy, and delicious. My daughter had a fish taco that she liked. There were medium sized chunks of jalapeno in it. If that's not for you, ask them to eliminate or go easy on the peppers. Loved the green salsa. When I am in the area I have to get into salt and have the most amazing Al Pastor tacos. Enrique and Keren are the owners and they know exactly how to cook. Rene makes a mean sautéed octopus. They want to serve alcohol someday. Try the red salsa. So creamy and flavorful it's the best. Very subtle but will make your sinuses cry for mercy. Everything is amazing.
