We do not live in the area as my husband is in the service, so when my tenant recommended this company (she knew the owner) I went with them. His quote was a bit higher than the others, but after speaking with him I felt confident they could do the job. I guess I misjudged this one. After the job was complete I received a call from my new tenant (we were going through tenant turnover at this time) saying that the unit was not working properly and water was leaking through the ceiling into two rooms! They came out and "fixed" it, but it happened three more times over the course of about a week. They finally fixed the issue, but they never came to repair and repaint the damaged ceiling caused by their incompetence. We have a different tenant who happens to be a professional HVAC installer, so he was handy for asking questions. CBS Mechanical never properly cleaned out the drain lines, or did checks (apparently there are tests they run) to ensure the drain lines were properly cleaned before activating the new unit. Chris, the owner, told me he would send out someone to make the repairs, but he kept blowing me off for scheduling. After several attempts (meaning over the course of about 6 weeks and over 15 calls) I have given up and decided to take another route. What's more is that they never sent me the warranty paperwork or receipt for the cost of the unit and labor ($5300), which I have requested several times. All in all, he is only out for the money and if there is an issue, they are not to be relied upon for fixing it. Since then, I have heard great things about other companies that I wish I had paid to do the service...like All Comfort Heating & Cooling. Head my warning and do NOT hire CBS Mechanical!

PAID $130 DIAGNOSTIC FEE + $900 REPAIR -- REPAIR DID NOT RESOLVE THE ORIGINAL ISSUE, SEEKING A FAIR…read moreRESOLUTION FOR COSTS PAID POLITE TECHNICIANS, BUT SERVICE AND EXECUTION FELL SHORT OF ADVERTISING PROMISES I contacted Weikle's Hometown Heating and Air because of their advertised commitment to "trustworthy solutions," "honest pricing," and building lifetime customer relationships without pressuring customers into unnecessary purchases. Unfortunately, while the technicians were professional, punctual, and courteous, the overall diagnosis, service, communication, and follow-through fell far short of the expectations those promises created. FIRST VISIT: My air conditioning system stopped cooling. After paying a $130 diagnostic fee, I was informed that the issue was a failed filter drier. To receive a discounted repair rate, I enrolled in their $99 Maintenance Club membership and proceeded with a $900 repair. THE REPAIR DID NOT RESOLVE THE ORIGINAL ISSUE: Immediately following completion of the repair, the system continued to experience the same problem and still did not cool properly. SECOND VISIT: The owner returned and identified the actual issue as a failed evaporator coil. He provided a written estimate of approximately $1,700 for evaporator coil replacement, along with a separate written estimate of approximately $13,000 for complete system replacement. Since the system had already been opened and the refrigerant recovered during the initial service, I believe a more comprehensive diagnosis at that time could have identified the coil issue before I paid $900 for a repair that did not resolve the problem. LACK OF FOLLOW-UP COMMUNICATION: I chose Weikle's based on their advertising, reviews, and reputation, expecting honest, reliable service. The initial experience was positive, and the technicians were professional and courteous. I was especially encouraged by how helpful and attentive the team was at the beginning, which gave me confidence that I had chosen the right company. Unfortunately, the experience changed after I asked whether any portion of the $900 already paid could be applied toward the new repair estimate. I sent multiple follow-up messages but received no response for over a week. As a Maintenance Club member, I expected better communication, follow-through, and support. The lack of response was especially disappointing after such a positive start. THE BOTTOM LINE: At this point, I am not seeking additional service work. The repair performed did not resolve the original issue, and I no longer plan to continue service with this company. My concern is receiving a fair financial resolution for the money already paid, since the repair I paid for did not correct the problem. After requesting clarification about whether any portion of the $900 could be applied toward the later repair recommendation, I received no response despite multiple follow-up messages. SECOND OPINION: July 23 I ultimately sought a second opinion from A+ Heating and Air. They inspected the system and did not find an active issue requiring repair or recommend any additional repairs. ADVICE TO FUTURE CUSTOMERS: Request a complete written diagnosis before authorizing major repairs. Ask what additional testing has been performed to rule out other potential causes, clarify what options are available if the initial repair does not resolve the problem, and request that any warranty, credit, or follow-up policies be provided in writing. I hope Weikle's will reconsider this situation and provide a fair resolution for the money I paid
