Beautiful place. Very well kept, lots of student workers. Very helpful staff. They charged my card twice for the same amount. But then were able to help there after. The place is beautiful and clean. Absolutely everything about this place needs improvement! Ideally should just be sold to a better company and torn down to be rebuilt as a proper place. God awful excuse for a "resort" and "hotel"! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Sand in the room that was never cleaned out despite us never going to the beach. Room turnover needed to be requested several times and all they did was change out the towels. We needed to place a "special request" to have the sheets turned over ONE TIME! One of the pillow cases had blood stains on it and we had no idea where it came from (not us...disgusting!). Food options at the "restaurant" were minimal and the quality was poor! Walls are paper thin can hear everything our neighbors do both on our floor and upstairs/downstairs. Updated room still sucks. Gross feeling. The mini fridge kept going to 50* so all my food went bad. We had absolutely no wifi. The bath water was pure brown for a couple hours. We booked the "beach front" 1 bed 1 sofa bed room. In the pictures online it looked like our room had a door for the bedroom for privacy. NOPE! It was 100% open and the main bed was directly in the mini kitchen area. So that meant no privacy from our kids. There's no toaster or a microwave but there's a stove that can boil water in seconds. Since there's no rugs and no small area rugs, the floor gets incredibly sandy. I would recommend bringing a broom or swiffer. read more

Motel 6 experience at 4-star prices. The only reason for the two stars is the view. This was our first visit to Cape Cod and our first stay at Blue Water. We are on day 2 of our 5-night stay and already regret our decision to book here. We booked an ocean front king bunk suite for two adults and one child. Horrible, rude service from the time we checked in. We were greeted by a crusty-looking man at the front desk who immediately asked for our credit card and if he could run it for the remaining balance of our stay, which I thought was odd since most hotels usually wait until checkout to charge your card. We were not offered help with our bags upon check in. When I asked for a luggage cart the crusty man looked confused and told us that it would "take a while" and "probably wouldn't work anyway because the rooms are so small" and basically just to do it ourselves. After we dragged all of our bags from the car to the building, we had to carry them up two flights of stairs because there were no elevators. Once inside, the room was TINY, and had a gross humid feeling. It's obvious that they just put some lipstick on what was once a dumpy roadside motel and called it a day. So far the view and beach access are the only good things about this resort. There is not enough room to fit three suitcases and two adults + one small child comfortably without tripping over each other. The floors feel dirty and sandy and not clean to walk on with bare feet. Tub is dirty and paint is chipping. Went downstairs for coffee on our first morning (there is no free coffee btw) and paid TWELVE DOLLARS for two mediocre cups of coffee. The workers seem very unfriendly and almost hostile. Reading the reviews from a few years ago vs. now sounds like two different hotels, so it definitely seems like things took a turn recently. I am not high maintenance and was not expecting it to be The Four Seasons, but at this price point I would expect at least friendly service and a few basic amenities (like free coffee/breakfast or bottled water in the rooms?) I could go on but I've wasted enough time on this place. It's 4th of July week so there's no chance of finding another hotel with availability now. We have enjoyed vacations at the Blue Water many times in the past however has gone off a cliff in terms of cleanliness and service. We asked for clean towels and trash to be removed which they told us is done on a daily basis - was not done. We asked for room cleaning services and were told it is only done once every three days and to request it the following morning. To top if off, we found a used bandaid attached to one of our pillows. Absolutely disgusting. Reported it to front desk and was basically told "oh that's too bad". Prefer staying at the nearby Red Jacket. read more

We stayed September 5th-10th for a birthday/anniversary trip and were extremely isappointed with our stay and the service team. Just a few of the issues; our room smelled like paint and every single window was painted shut, so we could not even air the place out. Additionally, the bathroom fan was broken so any shower we took left every item in the bathroom sopping wet from condensation. It sounded like a broken jet propeller. The shower did not drain, leaving standing puddles of water during and after showers. There were no curtains or coverings of any kind on the large window facing the parking lot. There was no working WiFi(they state that they have WiFi) . The pillows were dirty and ripped. The walls were also so thin the street noise and neighbors kept us up. Honestly seems like a motel that was painted up mascaraed as a beach front resort. We saved up hard earned money to take this vacation and blue water resort was an absolute waste of money and detracted from our trip greatly. We went to discuss these issues with the customer service desk during our stay and they were rude and did nothing to remedy the situation. So many better options on the cape. I really wanted to love this resort, for the exorbitant amount of money I spent on it, but unfortunately it fell pretty flat. Honestly- I should have known we were in for a sub par stay when we were standing in line to check in and there were multiple groups in front of us requesting to transfer to other resorts. The positive: The proximity to the beach. Not having to pack up my kids and all of their crap, drive to the beach and find parking, and then deal with pounds of sand in my car along with miserable, sandy, itchy kids was a huge plus. The beach itself is nice- there are plenty of chairs and it was wasn't incredibly crowded. The negatives: 1- The biggest negative is that, when I booked our room 3 weeks ago, I specifically asked the person on the phone if the renovations were complete and if the indoor pool and dinner restaurant were open. I was assured that yes, both were. Upon arrival we very quickly found that was NOT true. Both are closed until who knows when. 2- The room pictures were incredibly misleading. The room I booked was a king, kitchen and pullout couch. The main booking picture showed the tv console, with a doorway behind it looking into a separate room with a king bed, leading to believe that the king bed was in a separate bedroom while the pullout was in a sitting area through the doorway. We booked this room specifically based on these pictures, as we brought my daughter and her friend and mistakenly assumed they could have the pullout while my husband and I could close the door to the king bed and everyone could have some privacy. Once we got to the room, we realized that the picture showed the open door to the adjoining room, that had other guests. Very strange and a potential bait and switch. 3- I paid an extra $200 a night for an ocean view. This listing offered "spectacular unparalleled views of the Nantucket sound". Our view was a grassy lawn, a fence, a shit ton of sea grass and a tiny sliver of ocean above that. It was a spectacular view of the fence though. 4- Upon check-in, we paid our balance (which included a nice, hidden $25 per day parking fee) and then realized we had been charged a separate $100 charge. Upon questioning, we were told it was to cover incidentals and "may or may not be refunded". Umm...what? A few (un)honorable mentions- the pool area was TINY and the pool had quite a few cracks in it. The towels at the pool and beach ran out quite often, so usually there weren't any clean ones available. We also booked with the law enforcement discount, which was supposed to come with a "complimentary welcome amenity" that we never received. Unfortunately, we were offered no resolutions to any of these issues. I have emailed the resort as well, but my hopes are not high for any type of resolution. read more

IT HAS NOW BEEN 3 FULL WEEKS. Every time we call them they lie to us, deceive & make excuses. Do NOT. Under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES go here. They will STEAL your money & refuse to return it. Everything else has made for a miserable experience. Filthy rooms. Rude front desk staff. Dirty common areas. Amenities that are included in the price but not available. Visible dirt and grime and bugs all over the room. The WiFi hasn't worked since we got here and won't be available until we leave...just an awful experience. The rooms are "updated" but absolutely filthy! The linens are stained and put away dirty. And the price of this place doesn't make sense for the experience. Don't ask for any help from the girl at the front desk either because she will basically tell you to go eff yourself, roll her eyes at you and tell you she can't help you. Awful stay. We were not sure what to expect after reading some negative reviews. We found the room to be very clean with no musky smell. The rooms can use a bit of updating which they are doing now. Only real negative I found were the beds. A bit to soft for me and should be replaced. Parking is plentiful in front of the hotel and more across the street in their other lot. Hotel sits right on their private beach with Red Jacket sister hotels along side. Plenty of beach loungers, towels and umbrellas. Attendants take care of everything. Very nice clean beach so take a nice walk. The pool area is nice with a bar and food close by. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We were having such a nice time we added another day to our vacation. Price for the room is reasonable for the Cape. Hotel is only just over a mile to route 28 with all the restaurants and attractions for the kids. Will be staying again next season! read more

I recently was at the Bluewater resort, South Yarmouth, MA and went to the outdoor Surfside Grille which is a takeout lunch area. I paid with a credit card and when I saw the price, I said that's not the price of my lunch and they said we automatically add 20% gratuity. I said for what you're not providing me a service. I am picking up my lunch, I'm bringing it to the table. I'm cleaning my table. I'm disposing of the trash, so what am I paying a tip for ? Is this legal? Shouldn't they be required to notify the consumer they are doing this ? A tip is for good service. It's not required. It's a gift. read more

Staff in this place were exceptionally accommodating honestly they could not have been more friendly and helpful. We stayed a week and visited some of the other properties but the staff a Blue water were so much better then the others the difference was glaring. The place is a little long in the tooth but the location, amenities and staff all make it worth the trip. We especially liked that our family dog was also welcome. Our only real complaint was the room we had was pretty bad. The pluming was faulty (it made noise and the water pressure was poor), beds were old, the wall paper was torn and in general the room was a dump. I recently stayed at the Blue water resort in S Yarmouth and had a Wonderful experience. There were a total of 19 of us staying in all types of rooms from single rooms, to suites, dog friendly rooms and little apartments. Yes they are in the middle of renovating but it did not affect my stay. I did eat at a small take out restaurant for lunch and other members of my party had breakfast there , the food was very good and not over priced. ( the restaurant were not open during my stay as well as the bar) It's definitely kid friendly with little pools starting at 1 foot increasing to 4 . they also had other pools,outside as well as inside and a hot tub. The beach was beautiful clean and lounge chairs readily available as well as umbrellas.There was a VERY strong breeze. The resort provided towels at the pools as well as on the beach. My room was very clean with a mini refrigerator,coffee maker and bottle water. The apartment was recently renovated, very cute with cookware, plates from crate and barrel . yes they do clean but it would have been nice if a broom was provided just to sweep up. If you stay at the apartment and plan to cook I suggest you bring a sponge and a dishtowel. Yes I would go back, very nice kid friendly vacation. The staff was wonderful and friendly. read more

We enjoy this place alot. Complimentary towels are a hit. $7 virgin pina coladas are expensive. Nice beach view. Clean pools. Good place for families given the reciprocal resort access. OUTDOOR POOL: clean, good temperature, not too busy while we were here. Deep end clearly marked with ropes. INDOOR POOL: heavily chlorinated. Very humid as the hot tub is located nearby. Location not in easy proximity to outdoor amenities. The one restroom that we have found is in this area. Not a great location and generally always a wait to use. BEACH: plenty of chairs with umbrellas of you so choose. Sea water a bit murky, some seaweed. Parasailing or banana float rides. Choppy waves, not great for boogie boarding. FOOD: beach side bar with food choices. Expensive. We generally bring our own lunch and drinks. There are vending machines for snacks and soda which are also over priced. The resort does offer water stations for guests to have a drink both at the front desk and outdoor bar. read more

On a recent visit to cape cod in late September for a wedding, we chose to stay at the Blue Water Resort. Having recently stayed a a sister Red Jacket property (the Blue Rock Resort), we stayed at Blue Water at the recommendation of the wedding planner. This is easy to get to with a short drive from Rt. 28 which also makes it easy to find dining alternatives and things to do. The resort is located right on the beach with access to their outdoor pool, indoor pool, and deck for those who don't like sand between their toes. Unfortunately, the remnants of Hurricane Jose dampened the experience with cooler temps, wind and rain during this 3 day period which made the proximity to shopping and tourist attractions valuable. Blue Water is clean and friendly staff greet you at every turn including the front desk, security, restaurant, and maids. We had an ocean front room which was large with a comfortable king bed. However, we found the pillows to be too fluffy, and at breakfast found others in our wedding party complained of the same situation. Usually hotels have alternative pillows in the closet, but we didn't find any at Blue Water. Perhaps we could have called housekeeping, but for only 2 nights we made due. A large screen TV with remote and DVD player are also good for entertainment on grey days while the in room mini-fridge also came in handy. Our room also had a deck with two chairs and a table which would be great to relax and enjoy a book or adult beverage while listening to the waves. My only other caution is that the rooms are not soundproof. We could hear conversations and the TV comping form the next room, and doors opening and closing during all hours of the day and night. I've been accused of being a light sleeper, but others told me they experienced similar situations on this trip, so be warned that it was not just me. Overall, I found Blue Water to be a good value and an establishment that I would consider staying at again if in this part of the cape. read more

They are also beach side so it's a well priced resort considering it's location. The on-site restaurant is not bad. The rooms were also quite clean. This hotel is in need of some major love. Outdated rooms with filthy furniture And the small of mold everywhere. (However, I did not see any mold). Wall paper was peeling off the walls, rust on the poles of the shower curtain, dirty shower curtain, and the bath towels are the same towels you would find at the pool. The carpets where dirty and upon my check in, house cleaning failed to remove the trash in the bathroom, which consisted of three dirty diapers and used kleenex. I placed the trash outside my door and someone eventually picked it up. The furniture was so bad that I had to cover it with clean sheets. Bottom line, rooms were horrible. Landscaping started at 8 AM, every other day, which made it impossible to sleep in. Good things, the Staff was fantastic! From check in, to the restaurants, to housecleaning to the beach staff, they were flawless. I would give the staff, Five Stars!!! Excellent!! Unfortunately, the hotel needs some major renovations. This place was too cool!! This is one of several resorts owned by Red Jacket and now partners with the Best Western. This one was the Blue Water resort. We had two very large rooms on the bottom rear of the building, with our own patio and furniture. The beach and ocean were only steps away. On the way to the beach was a humongous pool and right on the beach! To the left was a large basketball court and a volleyball court. They have a full service spa and golf courses at their other resort which you can use and it is a short walk or drive away.. All kinds of water activities with jet seas and para-sailing. A nice dining room with an ocean view, we only ate breakfast here and it was very good. The beach has a tiki bar and a great cabana style restaurant. Oh and they have an indoor heated pool and whirl pool for those chilly months. Pretty Cool! read more

The best thing about the Blue Water Resort are the people who work there. Very accommodating and helpful. They are friendly and greet you as you walk by. They set a very nice tone. The resort is right on the south shore of the lower cape on Nantucket Sound. The beach is very well taken care of with machines that clean the sand and produce a lovely soft sand. Very special. The beach is lovely Many times water is totally flat, excellent for swimming. The rooms are OK. Bed and pillows satisfactory. Shower is OK. Be sure to set temperature in bath mode first. The water can be scalding at the highest temperature. When we saw a seal we got right out of the water, as seals can attract other less benign creatures. The sink knob is a bit jerky. Tends to give you a sudden burst of water. I would have appreciated a sink stopper or filter for small objects. As with many places by the water, humidity is high so that clothes that we washed did not dry after four days. The room doesn't feel humid, but dry clothes that we left out were damp after a few hours. We generally wash clothes when we travel. At Blue Water Resort best to bring enough changes for the entire visit. Minor suggestions: We appreciate the access to bottles of water, although an environmentalist would ask they they be reused. Most places we stay at have coffee and tea available in the lobby at all times for the taking. That would have been appreciated, especially as the rooms do not have coffee/tea makers. Some of the non-local staff knew nothing to suggest as to places to eat or things to see. An hour orientation or required reading would get them more engaged with the local offerings. We came to the Blue Water Resort as part of a Cape Cod based wedding. I would recommend this as a place for a group stay such as a wedding. Overall the Blue Water Resort is appropriately rated with 3 stars. read more

We are long time Cape Cod vacationers and had a first experience at Blue Water resort July 2020. We were really disappointed in our experience in the presidential suite, it was an expensive room that was marketed to be luxurious with ocean views. It did have a nice Jacuzzi tub and genuine two bedroom set up but quality of all aspects of the resort was very poor given the cost. Mattresses and pillows were extremely uncomfortable and we ultimately left because the air-conditioning unit in the smaller bedroom was full of mold. There were ocean views but the most significant view was of a tarred roof. This was a disappointing experience for our family. read more

Just came back from this very nice resort, we spent our Memorial Day here. We stayed in a "surf club" room w/garden view and our friends stayed at one of the cottages. Very clean place, staff is helpful and kind. Even though we had a garden view room, we still had partial view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is excellent, right on the beach. We got lucky, our room had a big terrace/deck leading out, oppose to having a small balcony. Even though it was shared with other 3 rooms, I feel like we were the only ones there. Our room did not have a safe (hence 4 stars review), but rooms in the cottages had one. I found that very inconvenient, management should really invest into that and provide a safe in every room, oh, and please, change that coffee that is in the room, it was awful! All in all I have enjoyed my stay here, and I am definitely staying here next time we are in Cape. read more

This is my 2nd year staying here and there are definitely many positives about the Blue Water, mainly being the private clean beach. They have beach chairs set up and you can request an umbrella and towels and it doesn't get easier than that! I also love the beachside bar and the staff is very kind and friendly. My specific issue with this trip was the lack of social distancing (masks are only required if you can't maintain 6 ft distance.. basically meaning nobody was wearing masks even though oftentimes they were closer than 6 ft) and lack of following through on cleaning protocols that are outlined on the website. Nobody was cleaning beach chairs between guests and nobody was disinfecting beach games after they were played with. It was very surprising to me. Also, they advertise extra space in the pool area to social distance, but that doesn't exist either (that's if you can even go in the pool because kids are constantly jumping into the deep end and make it impossible to relax or swim). If it weren't for the COVID related facts, I would have given them 4.5 stars because it is a cute resort and again, the beach is the main reason I stay here. They also could update the rooms a bit since it's so expensive for a room that is outdated. read more

I loved this hotel. The location is great and the beach is beautiful. The hotel does have some problems though. It's seen better days and the property is starting to show some wear and tear. Some of the rooms they try to pass off as ocean views didn't have balconies so we upgraded to an oceanfront which was awesome. I'd highly recommend it just be aware. read more

Overall this is a great resort but there are some improvements to be made. I still give it 4-stars because it is one of the better resorts on the Cape. Pros: -Excellent private beach with chair/umbrella service -Great outdoor pools with a kiddie pool at the Riviera which is fantastic -Great kids activities, adults do get to feel like they are also on a vacation -Really friendly, relaxed attitude of the staff at the resort -Great spa at the nearby Red Jacket Beach resort (the spa itself is basic but the massage I got there was phenomenal) -The beach bar is nicely oriented looking out toward the sea -The grill serves Impossible Burgers so vegetarians also have food choices Cons: -The rooms are a little dated and not particularly cozy, the outside of the resort feels fancier than the rooms -Not a great dinner selection at the restaurants and it's a shame because the beach is excellent in the evening so it's better to not have to leave -The grill closes in the afternoon and there is nowhere to get a snack until dinner The really annoying: -We had an unfortunate experience where we were awakened at 4:30AM because of a sprinkler that was hitting our AC unit and making a horrible sound. My husband called the front desk where he was informed that there is nothing can be done because the sprinkler is programmed. He went outside and turned the sprinkler a little and everything was fixed. Clearly the guy at the front desk was either too lazy or too stupid to do anything and didn't seem like he cared. -In general the staff is friendly but really dumb. One lady at the front desk kept giving me room keys that didn't work until she figured out she was using the machine wrong. -The maid only cleaned half our unit and disappeared randomly without coming back Basically if you want a nice beach vacation that is close to Boston and you don't mind the typical Cape Cod stupidity then you will be happy here. stayed at the Blue Water for Labor Day Weekend. We got a rate of $125. We arrived early and the front desk clerk took our cell # and said she would call if the room opened up. Check in is at 3pm. she never called us, but its all good, we were on the beach having a great time. They have free beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. There is even a waitress that comes from the bar to the beach for cocktail service. There are 2 pools one being indoor. The beach was very clean. They have a bar and snack shack next to the pool. not too pricey. best of all, this is a string of hotels in the Red Jacket Resorts - you can use all of the facilities. The Blue Water is the cheapest one. The location is fantastic. The rate during peak season doubles. if we can get a great rate again, we will definitely be back. read more

On 8/6/15, I reached out to this venue and spoke to the Director of Sales Alan Bearse. I was booking my wedding for October 10, 2015 at the Blue Water Resort. I asked to put money down to hold the spot, he insisted that I go to the venue to view it personally. I explained how my father who passed on 7/29/15 used to have his annual meetings there for over 15 years and I wanted to be married at his favorite place. I was told Surfside Pavilion and Cabana Bar available to accommodate your wedding reception on Saturday afternoon/evening, 10/10/15. The facility fee for a standing beach wedding ceremony and use of the Surfside Pavilion (four hour reception and dinner) is $750.00, based on a minimum catering guarantee of $1,000.00. I was excited that it was available and I was ready to put money down only to be told that the space would not be held until I physically came down. I live in Tyngsboro, MA, about 3 hours away. We have 4 children. It's not that easy to make the trek down there. Alan and I had numerous phone calls and on 8/14/15 I emailed him my menu. Once he received my email he replied back to me that he had already booked the venue to another group for 7 pm that evening. I asked him why he didn't call me and if it was a question of a deposit, why didn't he tell me and give me first option. The only option he had for me was a noon time wedding. I was heart broken. I spoke to the general manager John, and he had informed me that the resort had the right of refusal for events and there was nothing they could do. It was Alan's job to sell the slot and they would hold the noon time slot for me until Monday August 17th, he said he would personally reach out to me. Outcome of the event, no call, no nothing. Clearly they did not want my business. I ended up booking my wedding at Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Brewster. Stacy has been amazing!!!! I would never recommend Blue Water!!! They knew the venue was sentimental to me and they basically told me to go elsewhere because apparently they did not want my business. read more

Room 203 has a beautiful ocean front view and the staff and manager are so friendly and accommodating! I wish I could give a higher rating. Room 203 is right next to a smoking room (what place allows smoking in rooms??) Our room smelled like cigarette smoke 24/7! There was debris falling out of the vent in the bathroom into the shower. The resort is very dated. We had issues with our plane tickets that we needed a computer to fix and not a phone and there was not a computer available nor did the staff have suggestions on where to find one. Definitely a great location and view, but those are the only positive things I can say. read more

For wheelchair users: the lobby at this resort has absolutely no stair-free access. "We've never had someone in a wheelchair before." While our room was clean, it had an unmarked door (aside from the regular hotel room door) that led out into the hallway. Throughout the night, numerous people tried to open the door. Bathtub/shower was completely clogged after the shortest use. Maintenance came to look at it once, was unable to fix the problem, and offered 0 apologies or remediations. They mentioned that they'd go to the store to buy some chemicals to clear the drain but never returned. read more

This resort is 3 stars at best and I'm being nice!!! The rooms are disgusting and old! The carpet and bedroom furniture is from the 1970 era...the hallways also have old and disgusting carpet. They need to do a total renovation on all the rooms. Don't stay here if you expect a nice hotel room to sleep in. Also, Rooms are over $300 a night should be more like $99 a night for a motel type of room! read more

Love that fact that this resort had a private beach and easy access to jet skiing and other water activities. Also had a little private pool. Parking was a little difficult although they mentioned a spot for each room. In addition, we seem to constantly go to the other building for stuff. read more
