    Hellooo little dead bed bug!

I'll start with the down side... they charged me an extra $60 per night to bring my dog, said it was for the "cleaning". ($60?PER NIGHT for cleaning?) Then you arrive to a sign saying dogs arent allowed on the bed... The advertised ocean view fire pit was turned off due to "high fuel prices" and the email explaining that was sent 10 days before check in... 4 days AFTER you can avoid a cancellation fee. One Rat Poison station right outside the door to your special "dogs allowed" room, another up against the building when you get out of your car. Dead bed bug in the drawer, one crawling around on the bathroom floor, bed bug egg in the sheets. Not a lot of bathroom amenities, bring your own hair dryer. Check out is 10:30am. Called to ask for late check out, no one answered the phone for over an hour. Asked for the wifi password on the way there, arrived and no wifi. They gave the wrong password. No one answered the phone until 9pm. Then charged me $21.95 for wifi. The good news- wake up to a great view, sunrise if you're up early enough, access to a beautiful beach, Orleans is a great town.

Disappointed that they don't offer live music and happy hour anymore. Still a great spot for fresh seafood in Eastham, but will look for other options in the area that have live music and happy hour options. Happy Summer

There are multiple different seating options, everything from an outdoor patio to high top bar seats, tables, and the indoor booth seating which is what we selected. The dining room is comfortable, and with open windows it provided a nice breath of fresh air. We started with the seafood sampler, a wonderful combination of fresh and delicious shellfish (clams, oysters, shrimp and a lobster tail). We then split appetizers instead of entrees, having the tuna tartare and the Chatham mussels, both of which were excellent. There was some minor room for improvement - after we were done with our seafood sampler, we sat for about 10 minutes while our server Danielle seemed to be in an enthusiastic conversation with Caroline out in front of the restaurant. It provided for some interesting dinner theater, but with so many other employees standing around, it probably would have been an ideal opportunity for somebody else to chip in and take over. Also, the mussels came in a wonderful wine / garlic sauce - some bread would have been a thoughtful addition to soak up that wonderful broth. Fortunately the quality of the food and the vibe of the restaurant more than compensated for a couple of service issues - we visited in late May, so hopefully by the time this restaurant hits the busy season, they'll have the issues worked out. Overall, I would certainly not hold back from referring this restaurant.

Each visit reminds us why this beautiful bed and breakfast remains one of our favorite places on Cape Cod. Pete and Denise Butcher are exceptional innkeepers. Warm-hearted, welcoming, and genuinely caring, they treat every guest like family. They know your name, take the time to get to know you, and are always happy to recommend the best restaurants, beaches, golf courses, bike trails, hikes, sunset spots, Cape Cod League baseball games, boat trips, and hidden gems throughout the Cape. The inn itself is charming and impeccably maintained. The rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable, and relaxing. On our most recent visit, we stayed in the lovely Nauset Suite and immediately felt at home. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the pool is pristine, and there are inviting patio areas perfect for reading, relaxing, or chatting with fellow guests. One of the highlights of every stay is Denise's wonderful breakfast buffet. Her homemade specialties, including overnight oats and Swedish almond coffee cake, are memorable treats that start the day perfectly. Evenings are equally special. Guests gather around the large fire pit from 7 to 10 p.m., sharing stories, making new friends, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Over the years we've met many wonderful people there, including friends who continue to return year after year. The location couldn't be better. Spectacular Nauset Beach is just a short quarter-mile walk away, offering endless stretches of sand, rolling ocean waves, fresh sea air, beautiful shells, and opportunities to spot whales and other marine life Some of our happiest memories are the evenings spent around the fire pit. Guests gather from near and far, and before long everyone is chatting as if they've known each other for years. We've exchanged travel stories, shared laughs, learned about different parts of the country, and picked up wonderful recommendations. What always amazes us is how quickly we discover a common bond. Whether someone is visiting for the first time or returning for the tenth, we all share an appreciation for the warmth, hospitality, and sense of community that Pete and Denise have created at Ship's Knees Inn. Those fire pit conversations often become as memorable as the days spent exploring Cape Cod. It's easy to see why Ship's Knees Inn earned recognition from Cape Cod LIFE Magazine's Best of Cape Cod Awards, receiving Silver Winner honors in the Bed & Breakfast/Inn category in both 2025 . It is a relaxing, rejuvenating, and peaceful retreat where hospitality is genuine and every guest feels valued. We can't wait for our next visit.

We've found the rooms to be clean, comfortable and well appointed. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for, and there is a nice pool area as well. The Inn itself is located just a short walk from Nauset Beach, which is super convenient. The town of Orleans has nice shopping and plenty of dining options as well. Denise puts together a wonderful breakfast each morning with a rotation of delicious baked goods and other treats. On this last visit I happened to mention that I love pancakes, and there they were the next morning! Again, if we ever have a special request, Denise & Peter will do everything to make it happen. We are so happy that our friends found this Inn years ago, and invited us to join them, and we've been returning ever since. We were very happy to see that there was live music that night. Like the stars were aligned or something. We were seated right away as we had reservations...not sure if they were needed though. We all got something different on the menu from sandwiches (I got the turkey club) to one of the daily specials(a lobster caprese salad). 3 or our party got the clam chowdah and we're all of the same opinion that it was ok, not memorable. Our main dishes came and if course, my sister who got the lobster caprese salad loved hers, my mother got blacked shrimp and was less thrilled. My club sandwich was pretty meh but the fries were really good. Our server was a gem(if you have read any of my reviews you know I am AWFUL with names). She had a wicked sense of humor. Where they lose a star is the over all experience. The food is pretty pricey so you expect it to be really good. When the best you can say is "meh"...it's telling. I'm sure the bar is still a lot of fun but they.need to come back to master the basics before getting too adventurous.
